After speaking with a few Cross river state legislators who i am acquainted
to yesterday, i was made to understanding by a few of
them t that the calabar-lagos railway
project was not included in the 2016 budget hence the national assembly
could not remove what was never included,one senator however told me
that it was included, a rep said that it was not included but the minister of
transportation asked that it should be included during one of the commitee
sessions on the budget. what this means is that perhaps one arm of
government is telling lies or there is something fishy.
and i ask, if we were to choose one railway project between calabar-lagos
and kano-lagos which would be more beneficiary to the nations economy?
i insist that our legislators need to collectively address a press conference
to clear the air about this, and even if the calabar-lagos railway project
wasnt included why did they not fight for it? this would leave us to asking
more questions? is there any hope for the calabar-ogoja highway and
calabar-itu highway which has been dilapidated for years unend. dear cross
riverians, its time that we ask questions of men and women who we have
elected to represent us at different levels of government.
i always request that the state Governor Prof Ayade brings his focus to this
and other major infrastructure that the state deserves from the federal
government.
