Bidam: It is insult because the poster says ANY amount in STARK contrast to the widow who GAVE ALL she had.

With ALL HUMILITY i don't give such amount to beggers . cheesy

I can see your post has generated sympathy from your fellows anti-tithers who don't give talkless of to tithe. grin

Keep up the delusions.God is watching. cool

As for OTHERS, you can check other tithe threads for your recycled old garbage of a question.Because i don't quote scriptures to validate my post sometimes doesn't mean ALL i said are not stated in scriptures.

Imagine someone saying tithe is a TAX, What a height of imbecility. grin

BTW,I am done here, you don't need to bother replying cos this is my last post.
You see the law only makes you an accuser. Because people believe paying tithe isn't right doesn't make them less givers. Their giving might embarrass you. I make it a point of duty to give more than tithe. So hold your horses we are brethren. At least I still think so

Bidam: Circumcision is a lame and flimsy argument anti-tithers always bring.I can confidently show you from OT scriptures where the circumcision that God talks about is of the heart which was also buttressed by Paul in the NT. gentiles still circumcised their children even without knowing Christ. Circumcision of the foreskin is NOT a requirement of salvation was the argument of Paul.

Tithing on the other hand is by Abrahamic covenant not a one-off event cos His children and grand children did tithe.Abraham taught them.

Tithing was regulated under the LAW.In the NT we tithe by FAITH.
But what you're implying is that the disobedience brought on by lack of tithe paying is likely to disqualify a person from his promised inheritance and hence salvation won't save them. Yes Paul said circumcision wasnt a requirement for salvation but it was a covenant enacted by God for Abraham n his descendants and the bible calls us the real descendants of Abraham...courtesy of Righteousness by Faith so if anyone ought to faithfully circumcise it should be us...yet, Paul says otherwise. Yet somehow you think tithe is of greater significance and must be obeyed? Moses was almost ended by God once and it was circumcision carried out by Zipporah that saved his life. But all we hear is tithe tithe tithe. I dont know everything but you don't as well. Your initial argument was tithing predated mosaic law implying that circumcision didn't. Now you know differently. All im saying is you may not be as right as you think you are. Bless u brah

Ihedinobi: G'mornin fam! smiley How y'all doin?

Hi rhowly. Good to have you. Been a while, bro. How have you been? Sorry I haven't answered you on my "marriage" thread. Will do so in time. It may not be right away, but soon. Thanks for even visiting there.

'Bout what you said, bro, marriage is huge o! I used to pray God for the Gift of Celibacy. Packed in my case files aeons ago. Not everyone is called to be like Paul. I look forward to spending my running my King's errands with my soulmate. If I have to carry on without her at anytime, I trust that Grace will be multiplied to cover for what I lack.

"Being comfortable" is not all it is trumped up to be, I agree. Many times the Christian is in discomfort for no bigger reason than that he is a Christian. So pursuing comfort for its own sake can lead to trading Christ in exchange. It wouldn't be the first time. It's happened often enough. But we should pray to be faithful no matter what.

smiley
Yeah brah. Definitely been a while. About the marriage thread it's no problem, respond when you can.
I used to think as I got older it'd get easier...the wait for the 'she'. But for me it got harder and tendency for sin easier. Still learning to lean on grace and that my pride is God's greatest enemy, one he will root out ruthlessly. What you said bout comfort is an absolutely quintessential point. The most important way to avoid addiction to comfort is to learn contentment.

HumbledbYGrace: Hey, welcome home lol.

I get you, I lost something I was investing in, or was invested in, something like that and I realised that most of the time all that glitters isn't gold you know.

@ Ada, Uju, Texa, Royally, Yetseyi and the guys, good night. Love you wink

Remain rapturous
Thank you for the hospitality dear. The world makes us celebrate temporary things and soon we forget that we've thought little bout really important stuff. Moving to a new place reminded me of all that. Meeting a woman who met her soulmate and lost him early in life. She's been alone all this while....lonely. So many possibilities life offers. Things to consider for unmarried folk such as we. Is being married everything, is being comfortable all that is drummed up to be? Food for thought. Let me stop here. Don't wanna ruin people's weekend kiss

uj_sizzle spoke bout this thread. I decided to visit. Nice. Often pleasant to visit a thread devoid of bickering n where u dont have to constantly duck to avoid getting hit by flying darts (insults) plus s3xual innuendos. I recently lost somtin very precious & had been saving it for years now...hard but I hope some catch my meaning, God has restored me but I got loads to my mind. But here's something for the weekend. 'Not everytin that looks good is good and not all that is good God meant for u.' Lovely night buds and weekend. BTW anyone know a good church in Abakaliki? undecided

noblefada: Well I'll just pop my head into this tithing issue, I've deliberately avoided it for a very long time because it's a waste of time n this not a forum for brethren to fighting against each other.
That being said, @Goshen I admire your consistent n passion to put forth the truth about tithe, the tenacity u've showed to ensure the word prevails. But as for this ur exposition, I dnt think u got it right on d devourer stuff, because the locusts n insects were figurative and whatever u might say is defeated by the Use of HE and not IT which of course is consistent with the provision of the law.
That being said, are xtians suppose to pay tithe according to the law? NO! a very big No at that.
See we don't need a grandeur exposition or an endless theological thesis to know xtians are not suppose to pay tithes. A simple study on Grace (of which tithing totally negates) n study of the new testament will reveal it. Let me say this, the early gentiles did not know anything called tithes, not from Jesus or the Apostles, even in the Acts 15 account, tithes were not one of the instructions to gentiles.
Impossible to say this better in a thousand lifetimes. It definitely negates the teaching of grace. Kudos brah

Bidam: Tithing predates the mosaic law. The book of Malachi talks about tithing as a covenant between God and Israel
So does circumcision
Christianity EtcRe: The Deception Of Malachi 3:10-11 "Devourer" And "Storehouse" EXPOSED by rhowly(m):
Here's my problem with tithing. It seems 21st century Christians cherry pick which old testament laws to follow. Some females here hold firmly to tithe paying and yet go to church with uncovered heads and give several explanations for that...despite new testament teachings (not that I mind that ) catch my meaning? Circumcision was even a convenant yet Paul laid it aside for obvious reasons but tithe is more preached than it. Also I say, for obvious reasons. Why should tithing be greater? We seem to cherry pick the part of d law to obey. Look at the animals we eat the law asked Israel not to etc. What really bugs me is Paul clearly states that if you set out to follow d law you must do ALL stated in the law Gal 3 esp 10. There's more to this than meets the eye. How many churches gives tithes every third year to the poor? Too many questions o jare

chokl8candie: was hoping that she having a rebound bF now would help her forget the dude
thinking just of your friend n not the rebound dude. That's kinda unfair. Who likes being a guy going out with a girl hung up on an ex?
Anyways back to the case at hand. Time time time and yes nobody wants to say it...but God. Cliche` sounding but true. At least it was how I overcame my breakup. Details if you're interested.
But the peeps talking money this and money that is usually a consequence of wanting s3x from d female. We berate females for draining our pockets but who talks bout guys need for s3x? Don't want them asking for your money...try not asking/pushing for sex. But we wanna score here n there with every beau that crosses our field of vision often not really interested in them outside s3x, be ready to part with your quid. This stirs up too many questions inasmuch as it provided some answers. Here's one, what behavior in an erring spouse truly characterizes unbelief or @ what point do you slap on the "unbeliever" tag, cos some Christians struggle with sin...Romans 7 I think? What point does faith for change end? etc. Also, if Jesus said Moses sanctioned divorce unwillingly consequent however upon the 'hard hearts' or hearts of stone of the Israelites and in Ezekiel it's prophesied that when d messiah comes we would get new hearts (hearts of flesh), do you still think divorce is ok even following infidelity? Especially since every time we sin more so with sexual sins we basically committing adultery against God and he forgives? If he forgives us every time, can we hold back complete forgiveness and push for divorce as sanctioned by Jesus in Scriptures? I have an opinion, but im not trying to argue. Genuinely want to know what you think

well the causes of kidney failure are varied and of the many causes some are hereditary. but even if your friend's parent died from a cause that was hereditary...your friend can live a lot longer if he or she gets regular checkups. might detect the disease if it surfaces early or just allay fears. cheers
