damilarelr: Wait a minute, all I just explained might not be clear to you enough because they are MYSTERIES, human knowledge cannot phantom it. Such as God's ways are far above ours, it's not possible for a mortal man to fully understand the nature of the Godhead. The best way we can understand Him is by likening it to things that we can see and feel in our own human realm. Also, there are no three Gods in Heaven. I think you should ask God to reveal Himself to you so you can have your own true definition of Him.

You said One was begotten; the Bible says a child is BORN, but unto us a Son is GIVEN.. Jesus was born naturally, but the God-nature in Jesus is the Christ after His name.. That's why His name is Jesus Christ, and not Jesus Joseph (His earthly father). Today we have many people bearing Jesus but none is Christ. He is coeternal because He and His Father are one..that He called God the Father doesn't mean the Father gave birth to Him like we have fathers here.

I think you should read my previous comment again.
Hahahahahahahah. . .this one got me reeling in laughter to the point everyone was looking at me. What you explained were mysteries, huh? To who? Me?
But you understand this mysteries, right? Your knowledge is prolly not human, I bet it is God-like Hahahahaha. . Come off that BS that church faithfuls use when they argue themselves into a hole they can't seem to come out of.
The Trinity doctrine is not unique to, nor original with Christianity.
It has deep Pagan roots, dating back to at least two centuries before the birth of Christ, and has been prominent in many Eastern religions ever since. The Roman Catholic and Orthodox Church Councils (Western and Eastern churches) brought the Trinity doctrine into Christianity.
The whole Godhead ideology is pure man-made dogma rooted from Roman and Grecian Empire pegan practice and made extremely popular by the then Empiror of Rome Constantin for political reasons.
Up until the rule of Emperor Constantine, the Christians of the Roman Empire were seriously persecuted. However, Constantine saw a chance to help restore the former glory of the Roman Empire by bringing about religious unity. In exchange for the cooperation of the Roman Christian Bishops he made Christianity the official state religion. But this came at a great cost to the true gospel of Jesus Christ. From there forward Christianity became a mixture of the Christian blind faith, Politics and Paganism.
One of the most common beliefs among Pagan cultures was in a trinity of gods. Such practices were rife among the Egyptians, Indians (of India), Japanese, Sumarians, Chaldeans, and of course, the Babylonians, to where historians trace the roots of trinitarism.
I will like you to do a little history research on the council of Nicaea convened by the empror of Rome, Constantine inviting the proponents of a triun God led by Alexander of Alexandria (Bishop of Alexandria) with other bishops from egypt and libya who supported his teachings that Christ was "thesame substance" as the Father and the proponents of One true God led by Arius, a native Libyan, who went to school in Antioch. He argued that the Father alone is true God, and Jesus was not God. Since Jesus was created by God, there would be a time when Jesus did not exist, Arius used Proverbs 8:22 and John 14:28 (the Father is greater than I) to back up his opposition.
The result of that meeting was today's roman catholic Nicene creed and subsequent revisions of the creed plus the excommunication of Arius whose teachings were more reasonable and more in line with what was in the bible and not the common egyptian pagan practice of a three in one God. Funny enough, the Roman emperor Constatine, who was the "presiding chairman" of the council and was reported by historians to have even given suggestions that helped to arrive at today's Roman Catholic Nicene creed was a Pegan who thought of himself as the sun God incarnate, Mithra. He was a Sun Worshiper and only made an official conversion to "Christianity" on his deathbed. After the Nicene creed, trinity was still hotly debated to the point Constantine and the Bishops had to use force to enforce beliefs in it and barred anyone from preaching anything contrary to it, books written on the subject by Arius were burnt and anyone found in possession of such writings faced state capital punishment and from there it became today's christian doctrines hotly contested as devine by christians like yourself.
There it is, the little history of the nonsensical three person in one god teachings by the roman catholic church, this is common history littered in the vatican archives and encyclopaedia, there is nothing devine or mysterious about it, men like you and I made it look mysterious to dodge pertinent questions. It was a vote of men that established it, not revelation from God or scriptures.
Just as they“Christianized” popular church dogma, thus we end up with Christmas being celebrated on Dec 25th; Easter, which combined the resurrection of Christ with the pagan goddess Ester, and Halloween combined with All Saint’s Day. Spiritual mysteries indeed!

OMO IBO: What I've noticed recently is that parents especially fathers with titles do not reveal to their families exactly what really goes on when they attend meetings. All we see are the frills, thrills and pageantry.

When the man eventually dies then his children especially male children are forced to carry out some rites.
reminds me of when my grand Dad was seriously sick and suspected he was going to die anyways, he told my father without mincing words that if he eventually died that he wanted full traditional burials befitting of his age and tittle. Popsy got no choice, being the first son, besides, he was fully aware of all the traditional rites and participation required of him, he did them anyway. That was my first experience with some serious traditional stuff. Most of the things my dad did he never told us about them anyway but they were not evil though just the normal african tradition. I remember one his younger brother fronting Born again levels and refusal to participate, my popsy no even look im face sef. I intend to learn more about our traditions that christianity has all labelled evil and devilish, very annoying when one thinks about it in retrospect.

damilarelr: You're so right about the disunity in Christiandom regarding the concept of Trinity and diety of Christ, but I can tell you that Jesus is a divine being based on what the Bible says according to the site I mentioned earlier. Talking about TRINITY, I will try my best to make it clear enough..

The Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are 3 different personalities, coequal, coeternal members of the Godhead - the God most people refer to. When you say God, you're talking about 3 different personalities, yet the same one Person, true, and eternal God.

At creation, He said, "Let Us make man in Our image", God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit worked together here. Mind you, God is not expressed in 3 forms or parts but 3 different people so united that they form one true and eternal God.

A good analogy is water: the ice form, liquid form, and steam form are all the same water because they have the same formula and similar characteristics but different effects on our senses. Now assume the three forms of water are existing together in just one form - that is the nature of the Godhead: the God the Holy Spirit, God the Father, and God the Son
coexisting.

The Spirit of God (the Holy Spirit member of the Godhead) was the One hovering the surface of waters at creation. The three Hebrew boys trust God (Godhead) when thrown into fire by the king of Babylon, and God the Son showed up to rescue them from the fire. God the Father appeared to Moses when he saw a finger writing the Ten Commandments on tablets of stone. The same God the Father was the One who talked to Abraham.

Just imagine God as 3 different personalities (the Godhead) but one person at the same time..the God we talk about everyday.
There you go again confusing yourself with explanations that do no suffice; what do you mean by this: "When you say God, you're talking about 3 different personalities, yet the same one Person??"
if each of these three different personalities is God, it there for means there are three different Gods in heaven.
Again statement like this one is even more confusing:
"The Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are 3 different personalities, coequal, coeternal members of the Godhead"
If God the father is "unbegotten" and has always existed before Jesus Christ the Son was begotten, or created, or purposed, or established before time and ages as God, it therefore means that God and Jesus can not be coequal, neither are they coeternal because one was unbegotten while the other was begotten, simple.

oiseworld: Cheiiii ! SEE MUSCLEEEEEEEEE ! ! !

Foooooollllllllssss ! ! So you know who wrote the bible. Quoting it whenever necessary to suit your daft and selfmade gods.
CONGRATULATIONS , you three are official foollss. So matthew , mark, paul, and luke where not jesus disciples. How come i am?

I don't give a darm who wrote the books, its whats in the book am concerned about.
Go and worship your wood, cement, tree, stone and all that sorts.

James 1:22: 22 But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.

And who among u called himself my superior? superior in what,in the bible sheee. Congratulations, paul did the exact same things you're all doing now only to end up preaching about whom he prosecuted.
Now that I have come know your low I.Q level, it will be sheer wickedness on my part to continue to stretch your lame brain beyond its limits. You are already showing signs of psychosis from the dogshiiiit you are posting and cursing your miserable parents in an uncontrolled fit of anger like a raving lunatic. I am very sure that Christians with knowledge of the bible here know that you are a dolt, you are a disgrace to christian, you dont even know who Jesus's disciples were and you want to have an intellectual debate with your superiors. Go and read your books and prepare for Jamb, you are obviously a high school drop out that is out of his depth. This is my last reply to you unless you show some intelligence in your argument which is highly unlikely.

Sweetnecta: The poster ^^^ Your wrong assumption here about me, is very comforting because I do know that you are completely wrong in your thoughts about "God". I am a muslim, and your Lord Who you can not see is 100% your Creator and decides your ultimate outcome. He is the Lord of your fore bearers and little do you know about their condition in the grave. It is when one dies that the deniers will know God exist.

You can go to Seun because he is next door to you. Can you go to the sun that you see? How can you expect God Who makes the sun glows be visible to you? Aliens you can't see and you haven't spoken to every human. Yet they are under the heavens.

And before creation where God was was not what He created. And even now, He is not within what He created, but separate and beyond it: God is beyond heavens. You should pick up a copy of Quran and read it. And Mum and Dad depend on God. Ask them or ask grandparents or great grandparents or great great grandparents before atheism crept in. And according to you, you depend on mum and dad.

When your hairs are greying and your eyesight need spectacles and your energy level is not as great as that of a teenager, let me know how you are becoming older, especially when no one wishes to be old and withering.
It is immaterial to me if you are a muslim or christianity, na thesame thing-one practises mosaic laws while the other practices Pauline ideology.
You are shifting goal post now, telling me I can go to Seun because he is next door. That is not the simple point I was trying to make alone, I can go to Seun because his existence can be proven. Even if God forbid he was late, I still will be able to prove he once existed through the things he left behind. In the case of of your argument for God, you keep ascribing things to a "God" nobody has ever seen, neither can you explain how this god became the owner of the things you ascribe to him. So you believe there's a superman that makes the Sun glow, you must be delusional. So according to you,Before creation God was in a place that was not created by God. .lmao. There you go again confusing yourself with mumbo-jumbos taught in ilekewu by mostly uneducated alfas. So let me guess, he was prolly in a place created by the holy spirit abi? Hahah . .and what do you mean by he is a place beyond the heavens, is he that restless? That place beyond heavens na where?
Did you say I should pick up a Koran? You want me to get violent and fanatical right? With all that violent filled injuctions in your holy book? Thanks bro, I will pass this one. I never finish with the Jonsing christian bible na to go carry mohammed's war manuel na im yoy dey advise me, na wa to you o.
By the way, what is all the nonsense you are blabbing on about getting older, does your religion also make claims for immortality to its adherents, I might just re-consider you koran offer. .hahahahaha. .funny Guy.

Funny thread.
Funny how some posters are so vehement about a religion that needs its adherent to indulge in irrational beliefs in order to conform and be seen as spiritually superior.
Fact is that the main reason why many christian don't comment much again is because they are not sure of their own beliefs, the arguments here is raising questions in their mind that they fear might result in a revelation that might put them at opposite with their long held traditional beliefs.
Many of these Christians are just like Me, they proclaim christianity for the convenience it provides and not neccessarily because they believe in the BS ii teaches.

Sweetnecta: @rhymz:Point to one religious make belief in all that I wrote. Just one. I know you don't see me. But you believe I exist because Seun has organized a stage that we share. You have never seen Seun in your life. Neither have I. We both agree that he exists because of Nairaland, the stage he owns and we accept his name as Seun, because that is what he said he is; a male, owner of nairaland. But you will not accept that God exists, even though you live in the earth He says He created, taking in the air He says He created, eating and drinking and surviving on the food He says He created; all of them, both solid and liquid foods you obviously can't produce and have no ability to get to the true origin or source of these means of your staying alive. Yet, daily you get older and you have no concern or conscience about God, but what you do is continually deny "God".

Spiritual sense and you said there is no God.
Common sense and you do accept that you have a "Source", Causer that made you come alive.
Your case is "wow".
Hahahaha. . I know what you trying to do but your argument is superficial and lacks serious intellectual depth.
Anyone can be Seun but the fact remains that I can meet with Seun, talk to Seun, verify further that he is Seun that actually created Nairaland and even get him to explain to me how he wrote the programn for Nairaland. However, in the case of your believe in God, He can't be physically reached, his place of abode is fictional, nobody has ever been there besides dubious religious claims of personal encounter. Nobody knows what he looks like or have seen him before. You get the difference now? And don't ever ascribe claims of God's existence or creation any fictional superman, such claims are from men. Show me where this super man said he created the world, the air I breathe, the food I eat and the water I drink these all sound like pure work of fiction.
As I get older, experiences has continued to show me very concrete proof that I must take charge and control of my life and destiny than leave it in the unforseen hands on some fictional God. I mean, It is common sense, if after you were borne, your parents choose to do nothing about your existence to help you cope in the realm of this world but rather leave it to some "God", be sure your chances of survival will be extremely slim, you are sure not going to be saved by any God if you do that no matter how much you believe in his existence.
I have a source and that source are my parents, nobody spoke any word that brought me into being or existence, leave that fairy tail to the "childrien of God.
Since we are talking about source, can you explain to me where God was before he created the Heavens and the earth as claimed by Genesis 1vs1. As God created the earth, e be like say darkness and water according to your bible na "follow come" cos there was no explanation as to how they came about. Stop confusing yourself Mr.

If Jesus is God in Flesh then who is the in heaven that he always referred to? Am sure you must have heard of the very confusing trinity doctrines; is Jesus Christ a distinct personality from God and the Holyspirit? Christians that explain this whole Jesus is God concept always end up confusing themselves. If he is God, is he of thesame kind of God with his Father. And at some point, one is thought that God himself is a spirit, then where cometh the holy spirit or is it a case of using words interchangeably? Explain it to us in simple understandable terms and see if you wont suffer the risk of contradicting and confusing yourself in the end.

The fact is this, none of the disciples took part in writing any gospels in the new testament and The Epistles of James, Peter, John and Jude are clearly pseudonymous and were written by church leaders who had no personal acquaintance with Jesus or his disciples.

And by the way kid, Christ as I know from the bible did not write any book, most of what you read in the bible are personal accounts that came much later after his death. Paul took advantage of Jesus's death knowing how the Jews saw him as the promised messiah( not in the Pauline sense) that will come and establish the kingdom of God on earth. Paul with his knowledge of Egypt, Greek mythology about gods like Osiris, Zeus, Baal etc and the jewish traditions fused everything together and started preaching against jewish laws which were the Laws Jesus once told the pharisees that he had come to fulfil and not destroy.
I will like to take a quote from Nafata Bamaguje a briliant African Traditionalist who has written extensively on this subject:
This is utterly incomprehensible to we “pagan” African traditionalists for whom exemplary good conduct is mandatory for ascension to the higher spiritual dimension in the afterlife where as deified ancestors we become one with our creator. In traditional African spirituality, there’s no free ticket or short cut to “heaven”. Belief in some fairy-tale man-god does not substitute for good conduct and cannot make up for wicked sinful life. On the other hand there is no everlasting burning torture in hellfire by a cruel vindictive deity (Allah, Yahweh). Those who are not good enough for heavenly deification are reincarnated and given another opportunity. Herein lies the significance of African names like Babatunde, Yetunde, Nnanna, Ekaete, Magaji all of which are rooted in the African concept of reincarnation.

What of those who had gone deep in the scriptures spiritually and have confermation of the truth of christ? If you don't get everything about an issue;seek clearity, and stop spreading falsehood.

Jesus said it and i quote "i have come in my fathers name and ye believe me not; if another comes in his own name yo will believe" john 5:43.
The books you are reading, where they not written by men. Or the God of atheism wrote them. But yet you chose to believe them, quote them and use them against the church. Shouting paul this paul that, were you there? How come you're soo sure of theirs and not of christ's.

Choose this day whom you'll serve, your mind is alredy conformed and hardened.
As for me and my household, we would serve the Lord.
Kid, it will do you good to not begin any responses to my post with insults, trust me you don't want to go there. That being said, it is obvious that all you know about your holy book is the surface, how it came about is obviously not your concern and there, my dear, is where lies the authenticity of whatever claims of hisyorical accounts. And pls before I explain anythimg further to you, don't write to me about some spiritual BS, especially when you have limitations understanding your stance, that does not phase me. Also, whatever I post is in your holybook. I am a "christian" by the way, of course, for convenience reasons not that I believe in the BS they spew.
You quoted the book of John account of what Jesus said, right? Now let me give you a little assignment, go and make a little research on who authored the book of John and the other books of John, all you see is "the disciple whom Jesus loves", is that not funny? In fact, the books of John happens to be the only books that actually gave accounts of Jesus life unlike the copycat sypnotics from Mattew, Mark and Luke who borrowed heavily from eachothers work, who in turn borrowed from Pauls work-note again, this guy Paul, never met Jesus in person.
Now if the identity of the author of John is an unidentified person, why should any serious minded person take his account seriously?
You know nothing about your bible besides the sweet sounding metaphors and religious lingos your pastor dishes out to you during his service of indoctrination. For your information, paul was an impersonator who stole Jesus's shine. Today's Christianity of Grace is Paul's ideology and not Jesus. Paul is the biggest contributor to today's christianity,I repeat.

walcolm: YES, being a christian means you cannot worship other gods unless deep down inside you, you never really believed in the God of the Christian faith and you were only doing it because your mum said you should follow her to church
You are only right about Most christians being christians by virtue of their birth into christianity which is their parents religion and one of the mainstream religion. However, if some of us can drop our long held religious inhibitions and probe into the origins of this so-called christian religion, you will be shocked at what you will discover and how your forefathers had been decieved, manipulated, lied to, forced to believe things at face value and ended up being convinced to dump his own equally important traditional and cultural identity for the white man's tradition and identity so that they can easily be exploited forever by white people who turned them to a fake version of themselves.
You want to talk about peganism, go and read about the early christians, read about Paul's pegan origin of Salvation by faith and without works and how it contradicted the very essence of Jesus's mission. In fact, Mr Paul, the darling of your gospels gave Jesus Christ a new mission, the real Jesus never knew about or said anything about. The whole belief system in a dead and resurrected deification process was all in existence in places like Egypt and Greek before Paul came up with a copycat version of belief in Jesus's death and ressurection as an atonement process for adherent of the christian faith. Bottom line, it is as pegan as whatever our forefathers did before those white men complicated issues. Is it not funny that Christians take the bible written later after more than half a century of the events by Men who mostly did not meet Jesus in person but claimed to have been inspired by God as authentic source. People should do a little research and use common sense to figure out a lot of the inconsistencies their devine books especially with the ideology of Mr Paul who preach so vehemently about faith without work salvation. Abeg nwanne, use ya head, ndi ocha adi ro perfect.

emmatok: Well, there is noting wrong about partaking in our tradition and cultural heritage.

But what Christianity is against is IDOL-WORSHIPING of any form.
so praying in honour of mary and the images of white people is what?
The mistake our forefathers made was to be so docile and receptive of the white man's religion to the point they almost lost their cultural identity all in a bid to please the white man's philosophy of who God is or what represents God. Christianity is a white man's thing, our culture should not be replaced by christianity in whatever guise. China and co still have their cultural heritage regardless of what white Jesus and white God says, them na never perish, infact, they are over a billion of them.

Sweetnecta: @Avicenna: it is interesting that many medical students who are muslims are on nairaland. a young woman from yorubaland studying medicine overseas have not found reason to say God does not exist, yet. oh. i forgot, its her tradition since she comes from a muslim bloodline and regardless of being allowed to be overseas alone without her parents is not good reason to say that she has not found the knowledge, yet. she is probably a muslim for her parents. yet she is a lioness in her zeal for Islam, religion that medicine has not debunk, yet in her mind.

but wait a minute. i personally know of igbo young medical student woman in philadelphia. she is the first in her family to be muslim. her parents are doctors too in minnesota and she is still unmarried so we can not say she became muslim for any man! in america, we see people, educated and lay persons coming to islam by truckloads. i wonder what knowledge the lack for coming to islam?

Science has not been able to explain everything and will never be able to in the whole length of time human will be on earth, otherwise knowledge would be already complete or soon to be complete under the sun, under the heavens.

50 years ago hiv-aids was not known, or least imagined. lets make it 100 years because that is a better figure. the cure for it is not found, yet. cancer that has been around longer do not have cure for each, yet. how about bacteria/virus that can kill man in a span of little time after entering the human body? has medicine found prevention for it?

The God that some are denying is the Creator and Allah says in the Glorious Quran that some have taken their intellect as their object of worship. Allah further states that He has allowed satan to control the disbelievers. We see how arrogance pharaoh was and it was the stick in the hand of Moses [as] that Allah used for his doom. and today, we see pharaoh being seen lying lifeless far from when he was the arrogant ruler of Nubian Egypt declaring himself as God and under whose command the nile flows northward, being the only body of water that does this.

We need to rethink and realize that we get older everyday and we can not control mere aging that is happening to us. I am sure i would have love to be 25, for ever. ok. 33 or there about. but that is not going to happen and sooner or later my time on earth will be over. so is everyone. what happened to us then? this is a big question that science does not have true answer for, except the obvious; decaying. This is such a simple answer that can never satisfy the complexity of our end, considering how complex our living has been on this earth.

Let us mind ourselves and asked if we are not just plain wrong about our origin, origin of others, even the whole known and the possibly unknown things in our universe. How possible can these originated by random chance? Can there be an equally chance that there is a Source that brought them to being and because we do not see that source, we simply say it should all be chalked up to random chance?

I am satisfied that God exist. How satisfied are you that He does not, hence you exist by random chance, especially when you see mum being the wife of dad the husband?
there is too much religious make belief gibberish in your head that you need to off-load if you want to know the truth. I can understand inhibitions occassioned by the long, constant religious indoctrination you have been subjected to but if you allow yourself to ask common simple questions they don't want you to ask, you will realize the folly of long held religious beliefs. Please stop writing the nonsense you have up there biko, it defiles both spiritual and common sense.

Sirniyeh: Rhymz, i fear you o! You almost scatter my oblangata. Why did you hit hard like that? Your explanation fit throw person inside canal! Anyway, can you prove all your theisis and hypothesis above? All eyes and mind on you...
my Brother, What I am saying is the truth. You see this mind of ours, it works like a computer program, you can make it believe what you want it to believe. You think you would have been talking about the existence of a God if you had been born in a society where God is believed to be non-existent and all you have been taught is that he does not exist. I tell my christian brothers that it is sheer blind arrogance for them to say that unless one is born again in the christian way that one will not earn eternal life and all that eldorado after-life promises cos if that is the case, it therefore means that God has predestined those who were not born into christianity or Societies that prohibit christianity to be damned even before they had a chance. Because just as A christian who has been born into christianity and taught christianity from birth will defend his beliefs, thesame goes for the opposing side, what they defend is what they were borne into and have known to be the truth. That is the programming and conditioning of the mind that I am talking about. What do you think going to church and mosque is all a about, if not mind programming and indoctrination.
God is man's creation, his answer to the limitations of his intelligence. Something that can not be proved or disproved does not exist. While the bible is a very good source of history, it still has to be stated that the bible was written with heavy Bias to make intended readers belief in certain ways that favours a religious agenda and not neccessarily to represent the facts of history of the time.
For instance, most of what one reads on the gospels of the new testament is so contradictory and puts Paul in way that makes him look smarter than Jesus. In fact, he is the founder of todays christianity as presently practised. He explained Jesus in a way that Jesus himself did not intend. It was obvious Paul had problems observing the traditional mosaic law and his counter philosophy was to com up with faith based salvation that looked like a myth from Roman gods where people that worshipped Zeus got some kind of devine atonement for their sins through believing in the violent death and resurrection of Zeus. The whole faith without work concept was Paul's idea and not any God. Even from the way he writes, it was obvious the man was having problem with Jesus's brother James and his disciples Peter who were the leaders of the Jerusalem Church. Don't you christians find it funny that Paul who never met Jesus got a so-called higher revelation from God knows where than the true followers of Jesus. His conversion on his way to Damascus were his own accounts and claims, nobody corroborated his claims of conversion and being blind, it was only Paul, yet everyone believed every frigging thing this man wrote. From his tone in the letters he wrote to the churches he set up, it was obvious the man was trying so hard to start his own watered down form of Judaism in the mould of today's christianity cashing on Jesus's death and ressurection as a spring board. The whole thing is one man's idea, don't be decieved.
Let me give you a little insight, go and make a little research on the authors of those new testament books that gave account of Jesus's life, you will noticed most of them borrowed heavily from what Paul had already written about his own mission of what he thinks Jesus was all about. From Mattew to mark to Luke, all of them just borrowed from eachother's writings which most of the times are traced back to Mr Paul. The book of John are even more mysterious as nobody knows if the person giving the account was a disciple or somebody planted by the roman controlled high priest to spy on Jesus. Na all these kind account na im people go carry up and down dey shout God says bla bla bla. . Most of them are too daft to find out about how it was possible for these men to wtite full detailed account of a man many of these men did not meet in person let alone do an interview with him yet they are able to write he said word for words, na beans. . you dey mind all those preposterous sound bites they use in the bible to cajole people. We are created in "God's" image yet there are black people and white looking people. We have imbeciles, kids with autism, those extremely ugly people all classified as God's image. Then one has to grapple with the three in one Person image they prescribe to him. At one point, Jesus is God, at another point, He is God's son; na so dem just dey confuse themselves with stories and philosophies wey no add up.
Paul come in own, bring salvation by faith without work; does it even make sense. The bible is full of contradictions and distorted history.
Look at it this way, how come people believe recorded history of events that happened almost a century before they were recorded, how na?

hahahahahahhah. . . Ok, I get your point now. You know a lot in the bible especially those Pauline books heavily borrowed from gnostic concept and hellinized form of Christianity. The whole faith based Salvation without work thingy and belief in Jesus's crucifixion ressurection as basis for salvation is nothing short of pegan beliefs of pre-christian worshippers.

Ezeufi: Hadith; is something anyone can make one. In fact some hadith is like the twitter of those day. find me one line in Qur'an that says blacks are inferior, and i will bedome a christian on that day.

The story of Ham, Shem and jafet is not in qur'an. Its in the bible.
Oh realy? The last time I checked, the Hadith is the record of the sayings and conducts of Prophet Muhammad. The Hadith is a supplement to the Quran as a source of the Islamic religious law. The Hadith is the second pillar after the Quran upon which every Muslim rests his faith.
All of a sudden now, you have denigrated it to the likes of twitter and facebook just because it contains some damning evidence of Mo's words and conducts.
I believe the people that wrote the Hadith were actually the ones that followed him around like disciples. Besides, the history of islam is rescent and had the opportunity of better documentation.
You do not need to be selective as to what and what you should take seriously in the hadith, it is like a christian denouncing the later books of the gospel because their arguments are not supported by it.

logica: If you watch the movie "Wrath of the Titans" you will understand the concept: Zeus spoke about "the power of the gods reducing as the people stopped worshiping them". Think about it. That is exactly what is happening (myth or no myth) as people get more rational and less and less people worship the gods. The influence of the gods dwindle into oblivion until the gods "die" as was shown in the movie. The point of pushing people to continue to worship like zombies is to keep the gods "alive"; to keep these religions alive.
Mr Logica are you fvcking kidding Mehuh . . Lol. . I can't believe you posted this. So the whole aim of creating human beings and forcing them to do his will is to feed on his Ego. So in essense, his power lies in our ability to feed his Ego, failure to do so might result to his death, No? So we can actually kill God according to you. What if singing and serving him endlessly is not what one of the beings in heaven wishes to do? In other words, God does not condole free will. Am learning more about this God that is fast seeming like a mere Human being, he is not infallible afterall, neither is he omnipotent or any of those attributes that man can not attribute to himself but A God-like being, something that exist in the figment of their imahination.
