blaqoracle: the south east seem to be too worried whenever it comes to the issue of land. you love to eat suya, you need cow meat to celebrate your birthday, marriage ceremony, burial, yet u dont want a grazing land for the cow from which you get so much: meat milk hide and dung-manure
Mr man you sound dumber than the Fulani cows, at least the grazing cows have excuse for acting without sense, you what is your excuse? Tribalism?
In the article, it says SW,SS,SE and even MB rejected the bill but all your bigotry impaired your ability to see that portion of the article, what a Reeeetard.
As if the Suya, Meat, and whatever you mentioned are given out for free for such purposes. Does your father own up to a plot of Land sef in his home town? Give it out to the Fulani cattle to graze on to show how charitable you are. 4cking Idiot!!

Abagworo: My comment was on "State of residence" proposal by IBB. It will help reduce tribalism and discrimination in Nigeria. I seem not to have that sort of what I consider ethnic bondage I notice among Nigerians and hence see things from a neutral point of view. We should all see ourselves as Nigerians.
Abagworo stop this nonsense self-righteous praise you are showering on yourself in a bid to look liberal and detribalized. How is your suggestion different from the preposterous propasals of that bills.
Do you know how many Igbos that are not just resident in places like Kano, kaduna, Sokoto and other major northern Cities but were born and raised there, yet like everyone else they have to struggle for space in the market place, pay to do business and every other thing that requires money exchange before they are given away. Your logic is so myopic and seem to make sense to you alone. The Fulanis must pay for the cost of doing business, that is not tribalism, it is common sense and fairness. God forbid somebody like you becomes an Igbo leader in any capacity, you will keep shifting ground decieving yourself thinking that you will be seen as liberal and detribalized until you lose everything to their demands. If Igbos who are much more in the North doing business, do not get Lands for free but hire, rent and buy, then the Fulanis should not be treated any different in other states, residents or not.

Abagworo: 1st off. It wasn't Buhari that gave that excellent Idea. It was IBB and I'm in total support. Why are people so stuck on land and tribe?
Are you sure you understand the implication of your suggestion. So you are saying that in order to stop Nomadic Fulani herdsmen every state or region should provide them with free grazing land? Why have you not made thesame suggestion for your fellow Igbo brothers trading in other parts of Nigeria especially in the North.
Are you suggesting that Fulani herdsmen should be pacified? Do you know that by doing so you will be unwittingly giving impetus to the general belief that to get FG attention and sympathy a group or tribe will have to indulge in violence?
What exactly is your rationale for making such an argument for them.

700 Billion ‘Chop-Chop’ Contracts -At Education Ministry Some officials in government are hiding under a provisions in the Public Procurement Act to award contracts to party functionaries and companies believed to owned by party functionaries of the ruling National Democratic Congress. Various contracts amounting to trillions of Cedis did not go through the tender process but under a special multiple sole sourcing methods under which officials of the Ministry of Education selected amenable to contractors to do business with. After contracts for furniture for Senior High Schools and Desks for Basic Schools totaling an amount GH¢25,000, 000.00. was awarded various contractors under this special multiple sole sourcing method, other contracts in the sum totaling trillions of state money were given to agents hand-picked to supply school desks to basic and second cycle schools. To by pass the system, the Ministry of Education sought permission from the National Procurement authority headed by NDC guru Samuel Sallas-Mensah as Chief Executive.. A letter to this effect and dated 6th October 2011, with the subject: “RE: REQUEST FOR MULTIPLE SOLE SOURCING SUPPLY AND DELIVERY OF BUNK BEDS & CLASSROOM FURNITURE FOR SENIOR HIGH SCHOOLS AND DESKS FOR BASIC SCHOOL ,gave approval to the Ministry of Education to make these procurements without opening them for tender. What raises eye-brows is that many of the contracts in this “multiple sole-sourcing” procurement is that many of the contracts were awarded entities outside the region where the items were needed, giving credence to a wide held perception that the contracts were indeed given to cronies and National Democratic Congress functionaries. For example, the contract for the supply of 750 pieces of bunk beds for the Likpe Senior High School Bishop Herman SHS, Kpando Mawuko Girls SHS, Ho Zion College, Anloga Awudome SHS, Tsito - all in the Volta Region were awarded to a contractor in Accra. Again, items needed in the Central Region found its way to a contractor in Hohoe in the Volta Region or up north. A typical example is the contract for the supply of 800 mono desks to Adaklu Anyigbe, which was contracted to a contractor in Wa. Again, procurements of furniture for newly constructed classroom blocks in 265 Senior High Schools which cost the tax payer a whopping GHC 9,341,668.40 was awarded under very questionable circumstances under the new multiple sole sourcing arrangements. A letter to this effect dated 18th November, 2010 and signed by Samuel Sallas Mensah in his capacity as Chief Executive of the Public Procurement Authority gave approval for the MOE to use sole sourcing for the procurements. The letter with the subject, RE: REQUEST FOR APPROVAL TO USE MULTIPLE SOLE SOURCING METHOD TO PROCURE FURNITURE TO SENIOR HIGH SCHOOLS, reads: “We make reference to your letter No. FA 333/378/01 dated 28th October, 2010 on the above subject. At its 60th SSRT meeting held on Wednesday,2010,the Board decided that approval should be granted MOE in accordance with Section 40(1) (b) of Act 663 to use multiple-sole sourcing method for the procurement of furniture for newly constructed classroom blocks in 265 Senior High Schools to clear for fourth year students per the attached list. Kindly ensure that all documentation regarding the procurement is appropriately kept to facilitate future procurement and tax audit”. Many other contracts for other items and services for the MOE also found expression under the so-called multiple sole sourcing methods which is widely believed in the industry circles as tainted with corruption, went to companies with links to the government. There goes the almighty perfect Ghana land. . Bunch of hypocrites.

Tinyemeka: Pally you've been ranting non-stop at every single post for the past 48 hrs or so. Don't you have other things to do (like interacting with your family and neighbours) than waiting on every single update before you come and display your envy here? Please get a life O. Your life and future is IMO more valuable than this demonstrations you've been putting up.

The way I see it, you reek of envy and bitter jealousy. Else you wouldn't have been so fixated on everything Nigerian. David would always being far more interested in Goliath than the other way round.

FYI "Boko" (from the people who coined that term), means book, Westernization. Bakassi is an oil-rich peninsula that was wrongfully ceded to Cameroon, which is to be contested. Funny that you decided to choose those words as derogatory on Nigerians.

Pally I don't want to join issues with you. I don't have the time. If Nigeria pisses you off that much, go to ghanaweb or some other site and vent your hate there.

If not for all these anonymous nonsense, I don't see how someone would just be... Well, no wahala.

Let's know who you are on FB if you are soo fanatical about your Ghana. I challenge you to do that.
lol. . The kid is seriously looking for love and attention he prolly does not get in real life. He writes so much nonsense to the point of making the Ghana he claims to protect look like a country of sissy and talkative males. You hardly see Ghanaian females come here and yap nonsense, prolly because like I heard, they are busy working their a$$es out in real life while their male counterparts whine and gossip on NL. The way he irrationally reply to every post, you would think he got fired from his job by his Nigerian boss or his girlfriend left his lazy, sorry, broke a$$ for a sharp Naija boy with the needed Naija swagg and flavour Ghana girls can't help but love. .lol.
Hey Ghanaian loser, Mr Smoothdumbo, we all know you get your ego boost from the confines of talking trash on NL, if you feel so strongly about your shiiiiit why not leave the fake virtual life that internet provides you and get a real life and move on, Nigerians will be Nigerians no matter how much you troll here. And trust me, if you act like this to any Nigerian in real life, you will get your whole teeth served to you on your hands with ease. Quit being a sissy and help your female folks, enough of the juvenile nonsense, you aint smart or sharp-witted as you may think, I could go with you word for word till you ego gets sored but I wont be making money making you look dumb. .lol . Holla at me if it pays. .hahaha

I wonder at times the way northern politicians reason, they have this mindset that the FG must always come up with intervention plans when issues concerns the north.
They like to walk over the main issues and dwell on sentimental politics of no sense. Even here in the north, Fulani nomads occassionaly clash with local hausa farmers whose crops their cattle destroy in the process of grazing. Let alone in communities that have nothing in common with them.
The proposition in that bill is so insensitive and insulting to the rest of us. They make it look like we are afraid of the Fulanis that we have to make sacrifices to appease them. For God sake, these herdsmen are private business men not some emergency refugees that need settlements. There is no sense in recommending any special intervention for private business men that will take Lands from communities and hand them over to some cattle nomads for the purpose of grazing for the cattle. Nigerians doing business in other parts of the countries especially here in the north are not given such grants or privileges; this is common sense, you want anything you buy it with your own money.
There are far more Igbo and Yoruba people here in Sokoto doing all manner of businesses, they pay tax to the local officials, the space they use is rented and not given to them for free. The cattle these Fulanis rare are sold in the market and not given out for free. Why should anyone shift ground for them to rare their cattle in a primitive style that encroaches on other peoples means of livelyhood when there are far more effective ways of raring their cattle without having to move them around and risking clashes between them and their host communities. The northern senators need to come off their high horse and false sense of entitlement, nobody owes them anything, if they feel so strongly about the the Fulani nomads they should set up a settlement program in the north, that will house them and their cattle in ranches, provide them with basic ammenities like water, electrical installations, medicine and shelter. Design the program in such a way that the herdsmen and their families will be taught modern techniques on how to raise more cattle per acre of grazing land, how to use the faecal by-products of their cattle grow more grass for grazing. And in the end, tax them for the services. No need to make their problems everyone else's. My Igbo brothers doing business in Sokoto hardly gets anything here for free, yet they are all Nigerians even though thesame can not be said for all the Fulanis. Unless of course there is an expansionist agenda, they should drop or redesign that preposterous bill in a way that it will address the main problems rather than magnify it with ludicrous propositions.

The General: You live in a country where 30% of the butget goes to the lawmakers, 40% to the executive and 10% to the 'boys'. Honestly, are u still proud of your leaders? Nigerian lawmakers earn more than 25 times what USA lawmakers earn! Your president is the second highest earning head of state in the world - this is too much considering that he was a fisherman!
At least, it is clear to everyone here that Nigerians are not in denial about the fact that there is corruption in our system. However, thesame can not be said about Ghanaians, you lots are in denial about the fact that there is also corruption in Ghana. You lot like to act like your politicians are saints that do no wong, if they were that efficient and saint-like, how come you lots are still poor? How come the majority of Ghanaians earn their living by working in the company of foreigners, how come Gahanaians can not compete favourably in their market place with other nationals that they had to resort to extreme protectionist laws that are obnoxious.
You guys should tell yourselves some home truths and stop pointing fingers.

djfiifi: I laugh when these bomb riiden nigerians come here shout Small Ghana Small Ghana,Ghana is like half of lagos so so and so.
These are the facts, books no lie.
From the same colonial master British Ghana got her independence whilst your Big country with huge populace nigeria was sitting there aloof.
In1960 Ghana held nigeria taste independence. After her independence Ghana structured nigeria's education(they've foolishly spoilt it) and gave them our music HIGHLIFE.

Yes Ghana is small in size but the fact that we were able to fight for our indendence from the same colonial master before you must tell you how special, smart and intellegent we are.

Many of your people are here in our universities in Ghana learning sense.

Enjoy your cassava bread
my friend if you have any iota of common sense, you will see the folly of your childish rant. So you think because Ghanaians got their indepence first before Nigeria, that automatically qualifies Ghana as a country with serious people? Lol. .you are a typical Ghanaian male, always like to blab about irrelevant mumbo-jumbo without the aid of common sense. Does it occur to you that little Ghana got her independent so early because the white Colonialists did not have to deal with the complexities they werefacing in Nigeria in Ghana? Do you even understand the enormity of Nigeria's landmass and very many peoples and tribes. Do you know how many Ghanas that can be carved out of Nigeria with ease?
I find the IQ of many Ghanaian commentator here very childish and petty. You all will rather throw childish temper tantrums than debate with common sense and superior arguments.
For your information, RSA gained her independence from apartheid regime just in the nineties, go and tell an average black RSA how he did not do enough to get early independence and see how your stoopidity will help you lose a few teeth.

I remember watching this investment program on AIT where a white southAfrican investor was asked about his opinion on better places with investment opportunities in West Africa; here was the man's response, I would invest in Ghana for the short-term while waiting for Nigeria to organize itself," "But I wouldn't be there for long, Nigeria still has all the opportunities."
Do you know what this investor's response implies?
Ghana's positive factors probably lend themselves better to investors looking to set up and run a business in Ghana( small leaguers) than to those just looking to make a financial investment. In Nigeria, the reverse is the case; the market is deep, wide, and liquid enough to sustain significant financial investments.
For instance, the Nigerian stock market is currently worth US$50 billion and lists 215 equities with a turnover ratio in 2010 of 13 percent; Ghana's stock market on the other hand lists 35 equities and is currently valued at US$3.5 billion and had a turnover ratio of just 3 percent last year.
No matter what anyone says, it will take Ghana a lifetime to attain Nigeria's position or scale of achievements neither will it get better by propagating a larger than life reality of Ghana, Ghana is still a third world country facing thesame problems like Nigeria only in a much smaller scale, it does not make them any better. Ghanaians don't even have half as much foreign and African nationals in their countries as Nigeria, yet person no go hear word. Na only Ghana get foreigners living in thier country? My neighbors are Togolese and nobody cares, they do everything other Nigerians do, from legal to illegal, nobody has lost sleep over them. Ghanaians need to get off their high horse and false sense of achievement and "we don make am mentality", as far as reality is concerned, Nigeria is still much in a better and advance position to attain greatness than Ghana. And for your own good, you had better pray that Nigeria gets it right.
Business › Re: FG Engages Ghana On 'Trade Discrimination’ Against Nigerians by rhymz(m): 9:23am On Jul 21, 2012
Ghanaians can be so funny with the way they hype Ghana, one will think it is Eldorado.
See them here making claims of a fictitious steady power supply. .lol. .anyway, that's one of the advantages of internet braggadocio, you can claim anything and go scot free. Fact still remains though, there's no such thing as a constant power supply in Ghana today-an improvement better than Nigeria's, no doubt. In relative terms, there is a lot of noise about Ghana even though the population of Lagos is almost the same size with Ghana. In terms of the size of Ghanaian economy, it is only about half the size of Lagos economy in Gross Domestic Product, GDP. If Lagos were a separate country from the rest of Nigeria, it would be the fifth largest economy in Africa. Ghana still plays in the kid league when it comes to big-ticket FDI. The mistake many Ghanaians make is to think that Nigeria ends in Lagos. The volume of trade and commerce in a City like Onitsha, is prolly bigger than that of Lagos, yet Ghanaians like to assume that Ghana is helping some "Nigerian refuges" doing business in their country. .lol
However you look at it, Ghana still presents a small investment opportunity next to Nigeria, the biggest regional player. Nigeria has many strikes against it in the international investing community, and it is certainly not for the faint hearted. Yes, Nigeria is often at the top of corruption league tables. Priorities are often askew here; a UN report on oil spills in the Niger River Delta, caused by vandalism and aging pipelines, claims it will take 30 years to clean them up. But with these high risks come high returns, as Nigeria's GDP growth of 400 percent over the 10 years to 2009 demonstrates. Add to this a young and growing educated population, estimated to hit 250 million by 2050, and a burgeoning middle-class with an increasing appetite for consumer goods and services, investors are overcoming their fear of the country. Confidence in the consumption capacity of Nigeria is well illustrated by significant investments in the cement and drinks industries especially by local Investors, alongside the now commonplace investments in telecommunications. The Dangote Group, for instance, has pumped $3.9 billion into new cement plants across Africa with a combined capacity of 50 million tonnes of cement. More than half of this is being invested in Nigeria where the company aims to more than raise its production capacity from 8 to 20 million tonnes.
South Africa's SABMiller has also completed its US$100 million plant in eastern Nigeria to boost its brewing capacity in the country. SABMiller only entered the Nigerian market in 2009 with the acquisition of a small brewery in Port Harcourt; now the company plans to give the current market leaders - Heineken with 70 percent of the market, and Guinness with 20 percent - a run for their money. But even they are not resting on their laurels - Heineken has already acquired five existing breweries in the country for an estimated US$750 million, and Guinness is almost through with her US$350 million investment to expand its biggest plants.
I Am sure Ghana has its equivalents of these industries but not on the scale mentioned. As for electricity production, Nigeria produces like 2.5 times more electricity than Ghana but this amounts to slightly less than 20 watts per person, compared with 50 watts per person in Ghana. That is where the whole myth of Ghana having eternal supply of electricity emanated from. .lol. .what a joke!

I care nothing about little Ghana and the way she flexes her tiny muscles, it does not change the facts about realities in Ghana. I repeat again, Ghana is not any better, and let's be clear here, Nigerians do not consider Ghana as a country to be reckoned with.
Talking about comparisons is funny, there are more Nigerians leaving better lives and more comfortable than the entire Ghanaian population. No matter how hard your little Ghana tries to exert its importance, you all will still be reminded of these damning facts. Go and eat dust if you don't like it. I am a proud Nigerian, and I am very comfortable, I do not need to be in Ghana to to live the way I do so jump off your high horse and smell the cough, Ghana is not all that you so vehemently crack it up to be.
Shouldn't they work on making Nigeria conducive for Businesses instead of taking Ghanaians to task for setting ground rules on how businesses are conducted in their own country? huh
some times I find the logic of some of your comments very interesting and intelligent and sometimes I just struggle to believe that thesame beautiful mind will make utterly unintelligent statements such as this one above.
So in your logic if Nigeria becomes the Next China or America tomorrow Nigerians wont see the need to go to other countries to do business abi??
Do you understand simple business dynamics at all?
China Today has one of the best conducive environment for business-infrasture, even condoles slave labour, low cost of production, and one of the largest markets to sell their goods and services- still they are in every country doing or manner of businesses from manufacturing to downright retail businesses of their own goods.
Abi you think say all the Nigerian companies in Ghana would not have been there if Nigeria had all the prerequisites?
This is common sense, in Nigeria today; it is a known fact that igbos are predominant in commerce and trade in Nigeria, every nook and crany of Nigeria has Igbos doing their trading business. They are arguably the most financially well off tribe in Nigeria.
Common sense will tell you that since there are many igbos with money to do business and gain more wealth, they will of course want to expand their chances in businesses by going to other places with untapped market. If they can occupy markets in the far north, na Ghana wey be like an hour's drive or so from Lag, with the whole ECOWAS free trade and movement agreement na im dem no go come take opportunity. Nigerians doing business in places like Cotonou, Ghana and co did not go there because those places have better infrastructure; that one na big lie, most of them are not any better.

do you have these same feelings towards halle berry, charlize theron, sharon stone and the army of actresses and actors who have bared plenty in movies?

oyb: let me get this straight - you want to blame AJ because you saw original sin? what next - will you blame james cameron because you saw t2 when you were 4 years old?

while i agree with the making news part - i wonder where you got your promoting sexual imagery from - you must be mixing her up with hefner or larry flynt. more importantly movie nudity is more a function of director/producer than actress - actress a says i wont do this role, they either get actress b or a body double.
you are inwittingly contradicting yourself. If she is so strongly against sexual depiction in entertainment, I believe she will object to any scene of a movie that will depict her as having sex wether simulated, body double, photoshopped or the editing work of movie editors and directors. . Fact is, she had a choice and could have turned them down if she wanted to. But she dammed the consequences of her choice. What you have refused to accept is the fact that in comparison, there are way more Kids who watch uncensored stuff even in the US with all the age resticting censorship than the handfull whose parent censor what they watch.

adadivvy: Training her children is different from her making movies. She is trying to give them good training so watch her movies and let her be. She is an adult and she can do anything she likes. Her children may noy be allowed to watch her movies and she is mother. Now we know she can has the potentials of motherhood.Train a child in the way he should grow so when he gets old he does not depart from it. I applaud her strong will.
na which kind prepreprapra yarn u dey spew. In other words, it is ok for Jolie to sell sexually explicit materials worldwide that could reach even kids younger than her Zahara but later show alarm when some other kid inspired by her works does thesame thing to Zahara. Don't you see the folly of your argument?
I was thinking huge theater like projector but 1080p HD works too!! cheesy

On a different note, I am starting to realize the damage Nollywood has done. I mean I knew it was doing some damage, just didn't realize the extent of it until today.

See how our brothers and sisters can't tell acting from real life. Apparently, If it ain't Nollywood type acting, then it must be real.. .this is why they are convinced Jolie and Banderas were really having sex in the movie and the fact that his wife on the set when most of the scenes were shot was just to add a Menage a trois-esq element to the whole thing (oh la la, Hubba! Hubba!)

Daaaaaamn you Nollywood! Damn you!!!!! angry angry angry
I can understand you are having fun and all that. . . . But don't try to pass what Caps is saying as mere ranting. Do you know how old I was when I came across that movie, Original Sin? You think kids world over have the luxury of parental censorship? Let's be real here, Rihana is prolly a product of the kind of filth Jolie once sold on TV.
I am not condemning her for acting like any responsible parents will do, we are only saying she should quit playing with the scissors and shit and just cut the crap.
She could ban her kids without making news about it like she's some Holy Mary, doing so is hypocritical as she is known known to be one of the promoters of sexual imageries.

Mkmyers
You are not getting the main point, it is irrelevant whether the sex was simulated or not, the fact is that they convey thesame thing in different degrees and in theis case, Angelina's is raunchier.
Common sense tells you that humans react more to images than sound.
Kids that watched those scenes barely know if it is body double, simulated or real life sex (which sometimes happen even in hollywood movies). Rihanna's sexually lewd lyrics is just as bad or even less as video image scenes that purport to show Angelina Jolie having wild sex( be it soft or raw porn)
You can't condemn Rihana's lyrics when you actually do more than portray them in videos. If your argument is that they are not real then one can argue for Rihana that the lyrics are not actually hers, she is only singing what was given to her by song writers employed by her record labels, all thesame, Samu NI!!!

mkmyers45: its the states the children may even be proud grin ...Seriously in Hollywood most of the sex scenes are simulated although a few are not..kindly google 'Simulated sex'
who cares if the sex is stimulated, the point is we are supposed to believe it is them having the sex, No? We can apply thesame logic for Rihana's raunchy lyrics, most of them actually did not write the crap they sing with their filthy mouth, sohuh Wetin concern concern pr!ck and tótó if no be sexhuh

Are you kidding Me, Mrs Joliehuh When did you become a perfect model of motherhood when you so easily allowed tha dude to finger you on the stairs in Original sin. Abi na the countless bathtub sex scenes you had with Antonio Bendara in thesame movie na im we wan talk abouthuh That movie don tey O but every time I see you, Mrs Jolie the image that comes to my Head is you being fingered on the stair by that bad ass dude and how you were moaning in ecstacy and excitement absent-mindedly.
Abeg, all of them should spare us the hypocricy jare. . Rihana sings about sex( which eight percent of American bubble gum music does) and you Act sex in your movie, who is the bigger offender here. Do you know how aroused I get remembering the fingergate?? Rihana's music playing in my head could not accomplish that sef. .scheeeew

I have learnt one thing about buying shirts and troussers. . Get a very good tailor, go to the market yourself to and shop for the material of your choice then finally hop on the websites of the designer retail clothing lines and steal as many latest designs as you want or better still to save yourself the stress buy their catalogue magazines. I care less about labels if the quality of the shirt material is up to my taste, fits me as I want and makes me feel comfy in them, something many of these designer shirts and troussers fail in one way or the other to accomplish. There are very many excellent shirt, suits and pants designers in Nigeria especially in places like Aba and some parts of Lagos. These tailors are not cheap either. Why the fuss about if it is TM Lewin or TM Levvin; they are all mass produced stuffs sawn to specifications are branded with designer names. I have seen friends buy TM Lewin shirts somebody from Dubai brought to them; and I was like, "dude, Dubai sef dey do TM Lewin shirtshuh" even bangladesh get their own generic versions of popular brands not to talk of Gran pa CHINA. Na 2dayhuh Una sabi how many Bank managers wey dey wear well tailored Aba made Shirts, troussers and suits. Na person wey still never begin serious personal projects dey go buy one H&C shirt for 25grand as if it will make you any finer or cooler. Who cares about TM shirts anyway, you will have to look at the shirt closely to find the brand label to know that, the first thing that should strike anyone is the way you wear it and the quality of the shirt material not the label. Me no even like that long tail shirt wey TM lewin dey wey make one look like some french circus actor.

I am even in doubt if the russians actually paid the said $200 million, they are just as corrupt as Nigerian politicians and business man. I heard the workers there are not paid well. And by the way, this company claims to generate its own power so why are they citing PHCN as reason for their low production turn out.
