gidgiddy:Seriously, govt needs to do something about all the check points in the East, they are causing more harm than good. Even if they don't want to remove them, then they should desist from extorting motorists. |
IGBOPROMISE1:Those once along Umuahia to Ohafia, the money they extort from drivers could one of the reason why just a journey of less than 40min is costing 3000 naira. Something is not supposed to be more than 1500. Modified I forget to add... I passed through Onitsha Asaba bridge and there was hold up there... Only for me to discover that there is a check point of road safety and police officers across both sides of the bridge extorting money from motorists. In fact, they are the primary reason why there is hold up on head bridge. Those road safety there, don't they know the hazard of the hold up they cause on that bridge as Thier action is causing the bridge to over load. Imagine been stoped by road safety and police as you are entering the bridge, then on coming out of the bridge, police and road safety still stop you again. |
The next day, we continued our journey from Umuahia to Enugu via Enugu Port Harcourt expressway. This is a very major road, so anyone who thinks am lying can come and refute me. On this road also, especially from Umuahia to Okigwe and before you enter Enugu, there are check point in less than every 2 kilometres along the express. Though most of them didn't make it mandatory for us to settle them, but the delay tactics they employ is already showing, "settle us so you can go" vibes. This is too bad. Also they don't even check anything serious, and for the fact that security men come under attack from UGM, they aren't even alert to thwat such an attack. No wonder UGM usually succeed when they attack check points, cos those men even the soldiers aren't cautious and alert at all. And to make the matter worse, the check points on this road are mostly situated on the hilly side or valley side of the road. This is a disaster waiting to happen, as trailers use that road very well, meaning that when they are stoped at a hilly check point, due to the load they carry, their brake can easily fail, then they start moving backwards, crushing all the cars at their back. Or when they are coming down the slope approaching a check point at the valley, they can still fail break and crush all the cars holding up on the check points. What's our govt thinking. Those check points are a threat to life of the citizens plying that road. The Enugu side of the road don't have numerous check points like that of Umuahia to Okigwe. Now from Enugu to Nsk through Ugwuobo Nike to Opi junction, check points there are plenty and they keep collecting money from motorists tactically. The tiring thing is that two days before we pass there, thee was a kidnapping incident along the road, 3 days later, there was another kidnapping incident. Now what's the essence of those check points if they cant even stop criminals from kidnapping people. Politicians from the East especially those at those national assembly should do well to address this issue of excess check points along the eastern roads, as to me personally, they are not doing anything there to help combat insecurities along those road that they are manning. |
I recently travelled to the east for a function, but it's too bad that I get to experience first hand why the easterners are calling for the dismantling of the several road blocks across the region. If the road blocks can't be dismantled, then the hierarchy of our security agencies should sanitize them to stop extorting from the motorists. My first stop was Uyo, so we took a public transport from Uyo to Umuahia. I can tell you that there is a check point in less than 1 kilometers along the road. From one of the check point, you will be seeing the next check point and they keep extorting the drivers. Though along this Uyo-Umuahia road, the security guys manning those check points did not make it mandatory from the drivers to settle them, so at some of the check points, the driver talked his way out of it. Our next journey, was from Umuahia to Ohafia and back. We entered public sienna that took us there and back. On this journey, it was compulsory for the driver to pay #200 at every check points. There is no negotiation here, once they stop you, just bring out your #200 and move. A journey of less than 40 mins, there where not less than 17 Check points. Now the issue is, those guys aren't checking anything, all they do is stop vehicles and collect money(though I don't know for private cars) then you go, no checking of anything, so if we are criminals, that's how we will just be settling them with our them noticing us. |
KobomatPhones:From the bigger picture, the lady is right. 500k isn't enough money in Nigeria currently, in as much as the money is substantial, it doesn't mean that you will just rely on only the 500k monthly. You also need to create side stream of income. Am sure your family that you send 200k monthly, they are not sitting idle waiting for your handout. Am sure they do some small small jobs to add up to the 200k. From what you just wrote, your lady is more concerned for you to have a side hustle to add up to the 500k income than just sitting and relying on only the 500k. If that's the case, she's a wise woman. |
Since I went to the Enugu and came back, I have been restless after witnessing the horrors that people of Eha amufu are passing through. To make it worse, the silence of the governor and his cabinet is heart breaking. Let all Enugu people drag gov Mbah and his cabinet on all social media platforms till he tells us why he is quite about the misfortune that have befallen his people. Let him tell us who he signed a pact with to cede the land of Eha amufu to terrorist in exchange for the governorship seat. Even when soldiers shot at innocent protesting women, he didn't even make any comment, just silent. Our mothers are in tears and the gov is not doing anything about it. What the f**k is wrong with southern politicians. |
This Eha amufu issue is even under reported, you need to see the carnage that took place in that place. This is a first hand information, not hear say. My own village is just in the next local govt. These terrorists have chased out all the indigenous people. No one can successfully sleep there now, even to go there in the afternoon is very risky. Now look at the tricky part, any person who tries to enter that area will likely be killed or kidnapped, yet as recent as on Saturday, Fulani women and children are currently residing in people's houses there. What does that tells you. Same thing they did in jos and beneu is what they are doing in Enugu yet it's been over the 2 years this issue escalated and the gov is just there doing nothing. Though I know it won't be long we will chase them out, cos as long as we always have it in mind to return home for Christmas.... Once day we will have their time, for now let's be waiting for the gov. |
In the 5 south Eastern states, it's only Gov Soludo and Otti that was voted in by the people, the other once where placed there by their masters hence we are seeing the difference in the way this govs act. Otti and Soludo have been actively working to secure their states, the rest are just there looking as herdmen take over their land. |
This Islamisation of Nigeria, the people pushing for it will get, it's just a matter of time. The only thing that can stop is if this country divides or if the youths of the south will take laws into their hands and stand their ground to fight. This option is difficult, cos they will also be fighting against the Nigerian army. |
Am not here to say anything... But my mind pains me. Shame on all of us from the south... Shame on all the politicians from the south Shame on every able bodied youth from the south Shame on all the Southern celebrities who have massive social media followers, probably except for VDM Shame on all the southerners in any Nigerian security agency Shame on me too, but then I can beat my chest that even though nobody knows me, I have been speaking out in my own way. Shame on Enugu gov who agree to hand over eha amufu to Fulanis just so that he can become a gov Shame to all the members of cabinet of Enugu state. It's a shame that you traded the lives and lands of your people just for 4 years of power. |
https://www.nairaland.com/8384071/offered-7b-reduce-mentions-jesus See link to the original post. Gospel singer could be saying the truth. Just go and watch dstv and most western channels, Jesus, God are censored on TVs, you will hardly hear the word. But some others words that seem offensive to people are been mentioned there. Who is sponsoring such. A lot of attacks is been targeted towards Christianity and it's funny how it's even the Christians who are carrying out the attack. Imagine in a Christian school, non Christians will demand that cross between removed from the school that it's offensive to them, but those same people pray openly in the school and on the streets, yet the Christians there won't speak and say that the open prayer is offensive to them. |
For the fact that this man wanted to truncate the peace rotation process of our governorship election, makee me feel so happy that he was jailed. If he had succeeded, Enugu governorship election going forward would always be thug of war. |
This is the result when all we think about it money over good manners. |
This story looked cooked... |
I still don't understand why we can't get along with each other. This country is going down by the day and all we are doing is to come online and fight for which tribe is more superior. https://www.facebook.com/share/v/1AK8vLW8Pw/ Check this video from VDM, Fulani herdsmen are destroying farms, kidnapping, rapixng and kneeling people all over the south and all we do is to shout online. Wtf is wrong with us. Can't we just for once come together and challenge our collective govt to collaborate and put an end to this issue, then later we can continue fight. Look at Enugu state, vast area of Uzo uwani is now a desert land as the indigenes have abandoned their land. Every where you turn in the south same issue. WHY.... This is getting too much. It baffles me how we laugh and mock each other when there is an attack on one section, but this week, all the regions in the south and middle belt came under attack and everyone seems to be going about his business. SMH. I just wish.... |
Someone once told me that LP won in Enugu state, but the current gov struck a deal with the "powers that be" to turn a blind eye on a certain issue so that he can be made rigged in as governor. I doubted him when he said that, but now am beginning to see the truth in what he said. Since the current gov got into power, there have been an escalation in the attack on Eha amufu community and Uzo Uwani, and the gov is yet to do anything serious. The highest he has done is to visit them, please to them not to take laws into their hands and that's all. Our people are dying and the gov doesn't care. If not that someone signed agreement with some people, why will a sitting gov allow the atrocities happening in those area to be happening. Like I don't understand wtf is wrong with that gov and all the govs from south east. How big is our region that they can't protect it. Massive kidnapping and killing of our people almost on daily basis and nothing is been done about it. Enugu is home to 82 division Nigerian Army. That barrack is not to far from Opi -Enugu expressway, but almost on daily basis, there are case of kidnapping happening on that road despite the numerous check points along a stretch of road that is not even up to 45 minutes drive. Shame on all our govs... Shame on all the Catholic and Anglican bishops in the south east, because that region is home to the highest numbers of catholics and Anglicans in Nigeria. Those bishops have the resources at their disposal to arrest this issue, either by forcing the hands of the government to act or by calling for the youths to self defense. Cowards everywhere. |
El Rufai have been crying of recent. Complaining about the president. He even talked about the Chicago issue that we were shouting about before election. Now he's forming a repented sent. When he was following tinubu upandan during campaign, he didn't know that the man has a questionable character. It's obvious, tinubu is not dancing to the music of the northerners and they aren't hiding their displeasure about it. Am very much sure that this recent outbursts by el Rufai is part of the northern plan to unseat the president. Let the south not fall for it, the north will try to lobby aggrieved southerners especially those from south east and south south to join coalition with them. I am not supporter of president tinubu, but for the good of the south, let any part of the south not join any form of coalition with el Rufai. |
Dear God.... I just need small money let me complete my solar installation and finally go off the grid. |
This statement shouldnt have been made by the police. Some things are better left unsaid. |
This is a breach of presidential protocols. If not that our presidency have gone to the dogs, a high ranking govt official is not supposed to ask the president such a question how much more a non govt official. What happened to asking the officials following the president. This is pure see finish to our presidency. On the other hand, see the person wey be our president. He doesn't look like someone in control of himself. |
Gentlemen... It is finished. |
44 passengers on an 18 seater capacity bus.... |
Just look at this beautiful soul.... So sad that someone could do this. |
Christian leaders have finally turned Christianity to religion of jokers, everyone does anyhow and the foolish members follow blindly. Nothing is wrong with his dressing, but someone of his personality shouldn't be seen wearing this. What do I know, once they have money, they start to misbehave. |
Namaster:I didn't want to say much about the family. But the nuclear family is very comfortable. The husband income alone is capable of placing the wife on a minimum of 200k monthly stipends. And like I said, the wife is working and makes contributions from her own salary. |
A family of 6 3 boys and 3 girls, they all went to school, got job and are working. Now all the children decided that they will be making contributions for the wellbeing of their parents and the family in general. All the sisters are part of the monthly contributions. Now along the line one of the sister got married and leaving with the husband. The sister is still working and the husband is working in a better place than the wife. An issue came up between the husband and the wife and the issue escalated that they have to call the both family for meeting. Now the husband is saying that since he's married to the sister, she have no right making contributions to her own family. That all her money belongs to him. The sister's family is saying that she have been making contributions before she got married so the man have no right to stop her from making contributions. As at the time the issue came up, the wife contribution is roughly 50k per month. What's your take on this.... Is the wife wrong for making contributions to her family even after getting married. |
Nigerian security agents are only active when facing civilians. Call then when there is robbery going on. You won't see them. |
But why is Sudanese army going after South Sudan citizens. |
No I won't.... Any spinning that majority of it's options are something good is usually rigged. So 90% of the time, if you spin this, it will land in death. |
A woman's greatest mistake is to be a single mother... Except in event of death of spouse, a woman should avoid being a single mother. And for the good of the society, a woman should try and avoid been a single mother cos they hardly raise children with good moral standard. |
Wait first... Are they talking to the general public or to their fellow officers. |

Wow... A friend told me that even in Asaba, a state capital for that matter, that is nepa that is supporting generator and solar. You know, normally you have a gen or a solar to support nepa light, but in Asaba, the reverse is the case. |
