Something is wrong with our judiciary. A lot of criminals will tell you dy've been to prison 2 or 3 times. How do repeat offenders get light sentences? Build massive prisons with our enormous land going to waste allover. Give them long sentences & put them to so much use that they are drained of all energy to think of crime. 2 Likes |
Politics / FG Strategically Posts Ex Security Chiefs To Neighboring Countries As Ambassador by Richandsimple: 7:22pm On Jun 23, 2021 |
The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Geoffrey Onyeama has announced former Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Tukur Yusufu Buratai (retd.) and former Defence Chief, Gen. Abayomi Gabriel Olonisakin as Ambassadors to Benin Republic and Cameroon respectively. The Minister’s statement was however silent on the posting of the other former service chiefs – Vice Admiral Ibok- Ette Ibas (retd.); former Chief of Naval Staff, Air Vice Marshal Sadique Abubakar (retd.), ex-Chief of Air Staff and and Air Vice Marshal Muhammad Usman (retd.), former Chief of Defence Intelligence. In an interview with SaharaReporters on Friday, a source said Abubakar was posted to Chad while Ibas was posted to Ghana. Former CDI, Usman was also deployed by Buhari to Niger Republic. Buhari had sacked all the former service chiefs on January 26. The President subsequently announced the nomination of the immediate past service chiefs on February 4 as non-career ambassadors, a decision which was greeted with widespread condemnation. The decision was condemned by most Nigerians who believed that the former service chiefs should be probed particularly on the controversial $1 billion arms fund released between 2018 and 2019. |

Politics / Nnamdi Kanu Suffering From Bipolar Disorder- Experts by Richandsimple: 8:16pm On Jun 20, 2021 |
By Peter O. O. As a behaviouralist, I can say Nnamdi Kanu, the proscribed leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) is far from psychological balance, thus he requires urgent medical and mental assistance. Nnamdi Kanu is in a state of mind which prevents him from normal perception, both his behaviour and social interaction border on violence and the blood thirsty nature of a person suffering from bipolar disorder, which is characterized by shifts in mood as well as changes in activity and energy levels. As a psychologist, I can say that he is delusional and in a constant state of hallucinations. When he says things like the Vice President of Nigerian was forcefully injected with the COVID-19 vaccine or that the VP and Femi Adesina were kidnapped or under house arrest or that Aso is empty, these are signs of psychological imbalance because they are a fabrication of his imagination. The symptoms of mental disorders found in his behavior and public speeches lately indicate excessive bouts of anger. This is demonstrated, as he is always expressing extreme anger, like talking about burning Nigeria, killing Nigerians, destroying Nigeria and even leaders of South East, and the South generally. These traits are similar to those found in Jim Jones, the infamous American preacher and faith healer turned cult leader who conspired with his inner circle to direct a mass murder/suicide of his followers in Jonestown, Guyana in 1978, when 918 of his followers died, including 304 children after drinking a poison on the instructions of Jones. Besides, Kanu’s continuous description of Nigeria as a zoo is another trait of mental disorder. Instigating his supporters to beat up and disgrace politicians of Igbo extraction when they travel abroad, as in the case of former Senator Ike Ekweremadu, is a strong trait of mental disorder. The denial of obvious truths, like the fact that Igbos are Nigerians, assuming they are Israelites or Jews and denying the place of southeast politicians and leaders are all fulsome signs of Kanu’s illness. It is unfortunate that there are people who think he speaks the truth because like Jim Jones, he could lead them all to destruction if urgent care is not taken. Kanu is confused in his perception and thinking, for example he has raised this view about the President of Nigeria being a Jibril of Sudan, saying Buhari is a clone using silicon mask or that he is a doppelganger. If Kanu submits himself for further examination it is possible that we find more traits of psychological disorder in him. 9 Likes 7 Shares |

The video shows pple speaking Igbo yet flat heads are here insisting it's Edo & Yoruba boys. Denial doesn't change the fact that most diaspora crimes can be attributed to Igbos. Crime / Unknown Gunmen Kill Unknown Gunmen! by Richandsimple: 12:17pm On May 16, 2021 |
Five wounded gunmen and a nurse treating them have been killed in mysterious circumstances at Oyigbo Local Government Area, Rivers State. It was earlier gathered that a tactical team of the Nigerian Police carried out the operation that killed the suspected gunmen, but the police have denied involvement. The victims were reportedly being treated by the nurse, identified simply as Chichi, in a hidden area of Oyigbo when unidentified gunmen surrounded the building and opened fire on them. It was gathered that sensing danger, one of them on drip attempted to escape by scaling the fence but unknown to him, the area had been surrounded by the gunmen, who shot him dead. The gunmen subsequently gained access to the building and killed three others receiving treatments and the nurse. The victims were said to be among the gunmen, who recently murdered seven policemen in surprised and coordinated attacks on security formations along the East-West Road and Elimgbu Police Station. A security source, who spoke in confidence, said the bandits were trying to get medical treatments for multiple bullet wounds inflicted on them by the police when luck ran out on them. He said: “Remember that recently gunmen, disguised as security operatives killed seven policemen when they attacked their formations along the East-West Road and the Elimgbu Police Station. “During that attack, the police at Elimgbu engaged them in a gun battle. They sustained injuries and even abandoned their Hilux van. Those who were wounded ran to their hideout at Irebe side in Oyigbo and hired one Uchechi, a nurse, to treat them. “They were tracked to their hideout. Three of them were already on drip. Sensing danger, one of the gunmen scaled the fence but was gunned down by the unknown gunmen. “I can tell you that they are IPOB members. Five registration booklets of IPOB, many charms and some arms were recovered from them. You need to see their body, which was previously riddled by bullets. Though the bullets may not kill them because of their charms, the effects and the injuries will still show”. But the Commissioner of Police in the state, Mr. Friday Eboka, when contacted, said the people who carried out the act were not policemen. Eboka said before the District Police Officer (DPO) in charge of the area and his men could get to the scene, the killers had concluded their mission and fled. He noted that policemen, who rushed to the scene, only saw the five dead bodies and later recovered many charms. He said: “That matter was reported at Oyibo Police Station. The people involved are not policemen. We heard that four of them were taking treatment in a clinic before the unknown armed men went there with two Hilux vans and a Sienna. “They went there and people heard gunshots. Before police could get there, the gunmen entered their vehicle and drove away. The policemen met dead bodies of the four guys and the young woman (nurse). I told the DPO to move those dead bodies while we investigate the matter. “But, obviously, they are not policemen. If there must be an operation by police, it must be reported at the nearest Police Station. The people that carried out the act are not policemen. It was unknown armed men and not policemen. “The people they killed were actually receiving treatment of their gun wounds. When the DPO got there, they recovered the receipt of their treatment. They recovered charms. They were receiving treatment for gun wounds. The people that killed them are not policemen,” he said. https://thenationonlineng.net/mystery-over-killing-of-four-gunmen-nurse-in-rivers/amp/?__twitter_impression=true |

Nairaland / General / The Person Who Gave Us This Job Is Among You-kagara Bandits by Richandsimple: 10:28am On Feb 25, 2021 |
In the audio recording, the abductor, who spoke in Hausa, was heard conversing with a negotiator, identified by Gumi as a top official of the school. He rejected N2.7m offered him as ransom for the 27 abductees. The bandit stated, “I don’t have food for them. If anybody dies among them, we will tell you where to go and pick the corpse. “You know these children are hungry. I don’t have food to give them, only water if they are going to die, let them die.” The negotiator said it would be difficult for him to get the phone numbers of all the parents as requested by the bandits. The bandit responded that he was aware that many security agents and vehicles had been deployed in Kagara, vowing they would not succeed in rescuing the abductees. He asked, “You think I don’t know what you people are doing? I can tell you how many security vehicles are in Kagara as we speak. “It is with the help of the people of the city that intruders can overrun the city. Don’t you know that? The person who gave us this business is there among you. He is there with you. Wherever you go, he is watching you. If you want to do this deal, go ahead. From God we come and to him we will return “Even if you put together the entire security forces of Nigeria in Kagara, I have eyes all over Kagara. Whichever step you take in Nigeria, I swear, I will know. You people are saying they should not pay us, that if they pay us, we will use to money to buy weapons. With whose money did we buy our weapons? If we don’t have weapons, you will just send security agents to kill us and take the children.” Appealing to the bandit, the negotiator stated, “They (parents) have agreed to pay N2.7m. Each parent will pay N100,000 .” But the abductor rejected the offer threatening to unleash terror on Kagara. The abductor stated, “If I want Kagara to be in peace, it will be in peace. If it is not going to be in peace, it will go in pieces from here until Ilorin. If I die in this process, I have children that I have instructed that if I die that I don’t want Kagara to be peaceful if you don’t do as I say. Even if I die, nobody will come into Kagara.” He also berated governors, who said they should not be paid ransom. He added, “Governors are saying we should not be given money because we are going to use it to buy guns; guns that Allah provides and you are boasting about. Niger won’t know peace until it disbands vigilantes, abductor vows “In all of your (Niger State) madness, you are not up to Zamfara. It was compelled to accept our terms and talk less of small fries like you. You see, if you want to seek peace, seek peace and if you don’t stop the activities of vigilantes in Niger you will not know peace forever.” “Your deploying security officials in Kagara is a waste of time. Is there a fence in this forest? You know we are not in the cities, we are in the forest.” Appealing to the bandit further, the negotiator stated, “I pray that you assist me the way Allah has helped you. In fact, one of the parents has been on admission in hospital since the abduction.” Gumi, in an interview with one of our correspondents, said efforts were being intensified to identify the group holding the victims. He said he had an audio recording of a conversation between the abductors and a top official of the school. Gumi stated, “There is a crisis really. The abductor is saying he cannot feed the victims and he’s demanding money. He’s saying the money (they are offering) is too small for him.” Asked on what happened to the negotiation between the bandits and the government, the cleric said, “There was never any negotiation. The bandits we met said they knew the group that took the bus (which carried the victims), but they did not know the ones who took the children. They said they would investigate and call us.” Efforts to get the state government’s reaction to the audio recording on the negotiation did not succeed as the Commissioner for Information, Sani Idris, did not pick calls to his telephone nor responded to an SMS sent to him. Meanwhile, the Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, has appealed to Fulani herders not to carry Ak-47 riffles but remain peaceful. The governor who made the plea at the inauguration of the 2020/2021 annual livestock vaccination campaign held at the Galambi Cattle Ranch, Bauchi, on Wednesday, described the Fulani people as humble, simple and humane despite that they have been lampooned and subjected to caricature. He said: “What I will do, I will not say it here, but I will do everything possible to make sure I protect you and lend support to you because I know you mean well. “Through time and history, you have been seen to be cajoled, lampooned and subjected to caricature but you remained humane, you remained simple, you don’t show so much aggression and of course, that humility is always what we recognise and this is what a character that should always try to show. “Please, don’t carry the AK-47 that I made a figurative allusion to. Try to make sure that you remain peaceful.” The governor who said that he had no apology for kicking against the profiling of Fulani herders as criminals pointed out that what he said was the truth that there was no tribe that is free from criminality. He said that his administration was aware of the activities of Miyetti Allah and other Fulani organisations in promoting peaceful coexistence in the state, promoting the well-being of the pastoralists, wealth creation and conflict mediation especially in the state and the nation in general. He said, “That brings me to the issue of the Fulani which we kicked against and we have no apology for what we have done, but what we have done, is to say the truth. There is no tribe that is free from criminality and we are not saying that to spite anybody or to spark any unnecessary controversy. “We have made the point, Nigerians across the board have discussed it and I am happy to say that from all indications, the majority of sensible Nigerians have appreciated what we have said and that is the point. “I will therefore, need not mention anything about this matter for fear that there will be controversy or it will be escalated and I will listen to the voices of reason and keep quiet about it.” He, however, called on the Fulani to shun criminality and expose the bad eggs in their midst admonishing them that since he tried to protect them that they must do away with criminal tendencies. “I must call on our brothers, the Fulani, to make sure that they make their activities free of criminality. They must make sure that they fish out the bad eggs among them because criminality is criminality. “Inasmuch as we try to protect them and show Nigerians that they cannot be profiled badly, they should also make efforts to show that a majority of them are good citizens and they are contributing positively to the growth and development of Nigeria because our protein needs in the country will not have been met without the sacrifices that they are making,” he stated. According to him, despite the many sacrifices that the Fulani are making in their own nomadic and pastoral lives, the government hardly provides them schools, health facilities, roads stressing that even their right of way has been taken. “That is why we’ve set up a committee in Bauchi State and very soon, we’re going to implement the recommendations of that committee in a manner that we will free resources that belong to the pastoralists. They must have their own right of way so that we will reduce the conflicts between the Fulani and the farmers because they are the ones that provide our sustenance on a daily basis. |
