Sir, I need a job if you can give me one. I'm hard working and committed. Thanks. Speaktruth88: Nigerians and especially the young women don’t want to work.
They are looking for where they will enter do nothing and find someone to dash them money. I am an employer and have found young men to be more willing to actually do work than the women.
I have had female employees ask me “don’t we get to interact more with male customers”? I don’t know what admin work has to do with male customers, those ones didn’t last.
The next more responsible persons are widows with young children they will work like you cannot believe. They are my preferred staff. HND holders over degree holders too, they are used to hustle and value money. A young SSCE holder is more likely to show loyalty and commitment and learn from he ground up staying with your organisation for a long time.
We have sent a few of those unto private universities after a few years. |

Few things have been mentioned here that you can do while you keep pressing on for the right job. Read through all the comments if you didn't before. Now, you can be a content creator, you can transcriber, you can be a social media manager, you can do security job, you can pick up a sales rep jobs or marketing job, teach etc. These are things you can easily start while you keep your eyes open for opportunities and also pray for God's help. I'm in your position but few of these jobs are what are keeping me going till now. Watch out for scammers and fraudsters anyway. |

Funny you there. Are you a journalist or a book publisher? Or you're wanting it for your own personal gain? Well, I love to preserve their name still. Afiahomes: I do frown at such unprofessional act and in view of this, I intend setting up proceedings to ensure that such act is totally discouraged and not melted on others.
Hence, I requested for the organization name to be published but since you are not giving consent I wish you best in your endeavors.

jasonex4: Its quite normal.. probably a member of the panel isn't available and that's why they rescheduled, but they would most likely give you a new date. I have experienced it before, when a day to the interview date i got a mail that it had been postponed, i called the HR and he explained that the person to head the interview panel wasn't around and that when he comes they would reschedule, and that's exactly what they did Lukcy you there though. But, I called and it rang but was not picked and I texted also was not replied. And I don't buy the idea of visiting the office in person. |

Afiahomes: So sorry for your ordeal bro, that's actually unprofessional.
Could please share the name of organization for future reference?
Thanks. Thanks brother for you genuine concern. But, you know what you requested for is unethical, though. Who knows, they might have online presence on NL. By mentioning name I might just be doing myself great harm. They might turn a new leaf later and become more professional. Upon that I might still want to continue with them. Sorry, about that, though. They sale services anyway. I don't know if they do physical products but I know of their services. |

I still stand my ground that my would-be-employer think of me less. If not how would you call a successful candidate for final stage of interview and an hour and a half afterward that same HR texted me about the invite been on hold. My worries is never the been on hold but how less they think of me. It paints a wrong picture of the organization. No reason for the hold, no new date and no apology. |

HR Godwrites, from your write-up I see an HR that really needs a well pay job. Please get one. For your infomation, I'm not desperate but being official. I called only once and texted once. Even if I'm not an HR, I know this is not desperation. GodWrites: It's not being inconsiderate. If you have worked in Human Resources, you'll understand that Human Behavior is the focus.
Desperate fellows are like loopholes in a company, cause they can be used by anyone, body or organisation provided money is involved.
Employment is not always come and work, we need employees who can't be bought, and someone who's broke and desperately in need of a job is a bad call for us.
Cause they can easily be swayed by money and greed as they climb the corporate ladder.
Which in almost all cases, bring the company down. Imagine when an employee share vital company information to a competitor for pennis.
In recruitment, we don't implore emotions. We don't care if you're suffering, dying, or depressed.
If you're depressed we do recommend some agencies that can help you. But overall, we don't employ if we find you unfit, no matter your conditions.
That's why it's a business and not a charity or poverty alleviation program.
I hope you understand better now. |

GodWrites: Hold doesn't mean cancellation. I have kept numerous interviews on hold for many reasons.
Calling and texting him was a bad call. I don't know how I'll handle that, but I hope he handles it well for your sake.
That alone could be the reason you might lose the job, it shows desperation and most employers hate desperate fellows. I bet you'll do worse if in the same boat. So, you're one of those unconsiderate employers? Your day is coming soon. Very soon. |

Thanks. nitoriolohun: Don't let your mind freak you over it. There are many reasons for putting a call for interview on hold but I will highlight one critical point .
It happens more in an organisation that is solely own and the CEO most times is always interested in knowing who is coming new into the company hence always available at the final stage of the interview to make personal observations and approval.
The truth of the matter is that the interview is not going to hold again the day initially scheduled for it and a later date will be arranged.
I use anything that you believe in to wave the notion that village people is on your matter .
As I'm commanded to do receive uncommon favour to get the job in Jesus name (Amen). Shalom !!!
Modify : The CEO might have other important engagement for the date stated earlier reason for the cancellation . |

Now ur village people don go work overtime for ur matter. Again, may be them just employ the HR new, so he use u do testing to see how e de be to call a job seeker for phone to tell am say him pass interview. Sorry for the late reply. Jobs/Vacancies › Your Invitation For The Final Stage Of The Interview Has Been Put On Hold by Richardlove(op): 3:47am On Jan 09, 2021 |
The headline of this write-up was the base-line of a text messge I got yesterday from an HR. A very strong thing happened to me yesterday and I felt like sharing it with fellow Nairalanders to see where I stand in this and if it were you what you'd do. So, I applied for this online job late November last year [2020] and few days after I was called for interview which I honoured. After the interview I was told they'll get back to me. I didn't hear from them till around 5:00 p.m. January 7th, 2021. It was a phone call, the HR reminded me of the interview and said I was successful but that I would have to come over for the final stage of the interview on the 8th. I showed my appreciation and said that I would honour the invitation. After the phone call, I was happy and immediately started preparation for the invite. I did most of those activities outside my room while my phone was inside till around 7:00 p.m. When I was through, I started my freelancing job online using my PC and didn't use my phone throughout the night. When it was 5 a.m. on the 8th, I pressed my clothes, bath and was getting ready for the interview then I check my phone for time, I saw a message icon and opened it, it has the following message; Hello, Mr ****, this is **** from ****. Kindly note that your invitation for the final stage of the interview has been put on hold. Thank you. My gash. My mind ran 360 degree instantly, non-stop. I called the HR, the phone rang but didn't pick. I felt since the relationship was a former one, one phone call was okay and I texted but no reply too. The interval between the HR call to inform me of the interview and the time of the cancellation messge sent was an hour and a half. Now, is this HR or organisation fair at all? What should I do next and if it were you, what would you do? I should have hold it to myself alone but the harder I try to kick it behind the stronger the pain and frustration it brings. So, I felt I should share it with expert minds here on Nairaland. This is note a joke so I'll appreciate meaningfull concerns, suggestions, and if it has happened to you before or if it's normal. I didn't mention the name of the organisation and the HR for official reasons. Thanks. |

Family › Re: Help!!! My Dad Still Smoking Weed In His Old Age!!! by Richardlove(m): 9:18pm On Jan 01, 2021 |
During my university days, nearly everything I cook or eat contain weed. I could read from 4:00 p.m to 8:00 a. m and enter examination hall and drop word for word answers to questions. I wrote many imaginery contents. You will never know I smoke weed because I do it codedly. Oh, those good old days! But, now I willinly gave up smoking habits for reasons known to me. Not for any healthy or legal reason. My advise to OP, you're now a man, a full grown adult. Be nice to your dad so as to gain his trust. Show more kindness especially when he is smoking the weed or after smoking the weed. I prefer after smoking the weed because he will be in his good mood then. Your kindness is not limited to this period alone. But do it more during these periods. During these time discuss things with him. Buys him suppliment, fruits, wine, clothings, foot wears etc. As much as you can afford. You're to buy for mum too so as not to create jelousy. But your target is your dad. Study him and try to understand some facts about him. Then ask him one day the "bomb questionn." If he can give up this smoking habit? I'm sure he might tell you, "Son, I can't, or bla bla." If he accepts to give it up, thank God your wish prevailed if not still continue to be nice to him. That is the price tag you'll have to pay to get your wish granted. Remember, you have sown a seed in his heart with that question. The seed will continue to grown because he is a human being and a reasonable being for that matter. One day, you'll be surprised at onec he'll stop it or gradually reduced it and finally stop it. Note, smoking is not bad. it is abuse, addictions, and the consequent result of violent behaviours that makes it bad. Even eating banana to stupor can be term an abuse and bad. Finally, from your narration, your dad seem to be one lucky dude who weed is good for. Good luck on your journey to rehab you dad. |

In the first place is the money yours? No, not yours. Good. You took money on loan with the agreement to pay back on a date, now, because you took them for santa claus you're trying to skip date. From the very bottom of your heart, tell me who do you think started the trouble? Of course you. Then they with their own madness escalated it for you. Loan is not by force. If you know you can't beat the deadline don't take it. Even me will never take a loan. I rather go to my enemy to borrow money than loan organizations. Lastly, if you take loan next time and you see that you will not be able to beat deadline call them before the date and tell them of the situation and wait for what they'll tell you. This is better than you letting them call you. Now, let by gone be by gone. If any of your contact ask you what happened don't cove rit up tell them the truth and leave them to make out whatever they want to make of it. |
