Recently, I've heard people use the word 'the rain is been held'. I actually do wonder, just how possible is it? I tot we were done believing 'superstitious' things but this suprisingly is still believed. So to y'all that believes it, I'd like to ask, HOW EXACTLY IS RAIN HELD. Is there a scientific backing to this theory? |

Heard that this years NIFST conference is @ abj. I do hope to be there as a student member. Would love to meet wif some of u guys over there. Ciao... |
Holla... This is NL, created to air one's mind about various issues and that exactly what I intend doing now. I'm all naïve about football as a sport and might need clearance. Football as it is, is supposed to be for entertainment and fun. I'm not against football as a profession. What I frown at is the 'over_hyping' of this sport. I hear with dismay the ridiculous amount of money given to these players and I wonder within me, is this really the best? Something definitely is wrong! I don't see why someone with little or no formal training would earn 6 to 7 figure as salary and the learned go on strike to get their little allowances paid. Someone once argued that they are mostly paid by the clubs and the rest, but I'll still ask how much does the govt give to them? I recall a time when they rejected huge amount of money given to them by the govt just because it was short. I have nothing against them. All I'm saying is that I just do not understand. Today we see young peeps with nice intellect all running to the pitch just because they knw that it is a sure banker and @ dat we lose our place in science and research. In time past, the european countries led the world in sciences and researches but today, reports reveals that the asians are getting better @ it. To my own point of view, the europeans are being swept away in the football, entertainment things. The asians, though still involved, gives priority to the essentials. And we africans we duly follow the europeans thereby killing the reading spirit of our young ones. Priorities needs to be set. #just saying# |
Hello... I am a food scientist(in view). From FUTA, currently on industrial training in on of the drink companies here in lag. That shld say I'm in my 4th year. FST hasn't really gotten the publicity it ought to get but this I can tell u, its one of the most lucrative career path u can ever make. In my next life, its gonna b FST all the way. Av a splendid ride... |
This morning seems to be well peaceful and calm. Traffic is light which is very unusual for a monday morning. I'm so enjoying this ride. |
I can't help but express my gratitude for the ease of traffic in this road this week. Residents in this part of lagos who often result to trekking have finally made sighs of relieve as the usual 2 to 3 hrs journeying have been cut short to abt an hour journey. This isn't to say that there aint traffic, there actually are but at a minimal and comfortable level. I can't remember when last I saw commercial drivers begging and urging occupants to enter their vehicles at reduced rate, but I stand to say that as at this week, it actually has been the case. I really do not know who we owe this to, maybe the 'gods' of the road #just saying# or perharps nature, seeing that it really hasn't rained for like a week. To my esteemed colleagues who ply this road, I'd say you enjoy it while it last and to the rest of the populace, u can now embark on a journey downtown. Have a splendid weekend!!! |
I'd love to play a little game. From people of all time, who would you choose as a role model. Not necessarily a celeb. You choose one, tell us why and then you support your answer with a picture. For me its benjamin solomon carson. (Ben carson) He taught me to believe in myself regardless of what the the public says.

It hurts to love someone and not to be loved in return But what is more painful is to love someone and lack the courage to let that person know how you feel Maybe God wants us to meet a few wrong people before meeting the right ones so that when we finally meet the right person, we will know how to be grateful for that gift Love is when you take away the passions, feelings and the remains of a relationship and find out you still care for that person A sad thing in life is when you meet someone who means a lot to you, only to find out in the end that it was never meant to be and you just have to let go When the door of happiness closes, another opens. But often time we look so long at the closed door that we don't see the one which have been opened for us The best kind of friend is the kind you can just be with, never say a word and walk away feeling like it was the best conversation that you've ever had It is true that we don't know what we've got until we loose it, but its also true that we don't know what we've been missing until it arrives Giving someone all your love is never an assurance that they'll love you back Don't expect love in return Just wait for it to grow in their heart But if it doesn't, be contend that it grew in yours There are things that you'll love to hear that you will never hear it from the person whom you will like to hear it from But don't be so deaf as not to hear it from the one who says it from their heart Never say goodbye if you still want to try Never give up if you still feel you can go on Never say you don't love a person anymore if you can't let go Love comes to those who still hope although they've been disappointed To those who still believe although they've been betrayed To those who still need to love although they've been hurt before And to those who have the courage and faith to build trust again It takes only a minute to crush on someone, an hour to like someone, a day to love someone, but it takes a lifetime to forget someone Don't go for looks, they can deceive, don't go for wealth cos even that fades away Go for someone who makes you smile because it takes only a smile to make a dark day seem bright Hope you find the someone that make you smile... |

NASA Finds Message From God on Mars admin | July 7, 2013 | 59 Comments NASA announced today that its Curiosity Rover has found an unambiguous message from God written on tablets in a Martian cave. According to an official press release two giant stone slabs the size of small elephants were located deep inside a cavern abutting Aeolis Mons, a large mountain. Upon one tablet is a copy of the Ten Commandments and the text of John 3:16 written in 12 languages – including English, Spanish, Chinese, Basque and Hebrew. On the other tablet is a simple message in English reading “I am real.” According to top scientists who have studied the discovery extensively, these findings may have definitively established Christianity as the one true religion. “This is amazing,” says Syms Covington, an Australian researcher working for NASA’s Mars Exploration Program. “We went into the cave looking for water, and we found proof of God’s existence instead. “I mean how else did those tablets get there? I can tell you one thing: there’s not a single atheist inside NASA’s control room now. What we saw was jaw-dropping.” Genesis 1:1 NASA’s Curiosity rover arrived on Mars in August of last year with a mission to explore the Martian climate and geology for signs for habitability. Thus far the mission has been a success, with the discovery of an ancient seabed and chemicals needed for life suggesting that Mars was once suitable for life. However the tablets, both of which are signed “Peace and Love – Yahweh,” represent the rover’s most significant find to date, and is perhaps the most important scientific event in history. “When people find out about this, they will demand change in our society,” explains a political scientist at Georgetown University. “Democracy will have to give way to theocracy. We’re gonna have to build more churches and reintroduce prayer into schools. Abortion is defiantly going to be illegal within a few months.” Visit www.dailycurrant.com |
I'm actually a prdt of such union. My dad's brother wife is my mum's elder sister. It is very wonderful. I don't av grandparents, so they act as substitute. There is nofin wrong in it. |
I have always wondered why the female folks are called 'weaker vessels'. It doesn't in any way describe them. These are the people that God created and structured very differently. At the start of their maturity, they experience discomfort and pain during their monthly periods. They get married and in time help carry a being within them. They go through this discomfort with the strength that even a man at times lack. For nine long months, they endure, love and cherish the feel of a new one with an unknown patience. And in the time to give birth, they go through an indescribable pain. And the funny thing is that, they'll go through this experience over and over again just for the birth of a new one. They tend and nurture that new one and keep late nights just to see that the young one has all he needs. And then comes 'menopause'. Even at old age, they exhibit so muuuucccchhhh strength and endurance despite the pain and discomfort. So you tell me. Why wouldn't I appreciate the women folk? Appreciate my mom, who in their weakness yet are strong. Who gives so much to a world that has little regard for them. To the ladies, mothers and to-be mothers, I do salute your strength. And to those young ones who dresses half naked and expose that which is made to be hidden, all I can say is that, you worth better than that. Any man who doesn't appreciate when you are properly covered isn't worth you. You are special and indeed the strength and foundation of this world. |

I did see a lady's upper part to her mid section @ the third pix. I'm a very moral person. Just my imagination, |
Hey pple, pls let's consider this scenerio. You are walking down a street and you see a friend of yours walking towards you. But just before he/she got to you, he blew his nose and used his hands to wipe off the mucous remaining and just then he extends his hands to shake you. What would be your reaction. |
Sometimes I ponder and wonder about this great nation. Where really are we heading to. I'm currently on an industrial training in one of the food producing industry. The state of things over here is... Whew!!!. They do know the quality checks but they usually fail to do these analyses and when they hear that the regulatory agency is visiting, they backdate all their control sheets and fabricate results. The regulatory agencies themselves aint helping matters. These agencies especially NAFDAC, ought to visit this companies unannounced as stated by the law binding them. But instead, they call the companies to inform them that they are coming and they tell the company to 'prepare' for them. This is usually in terms of cash. And this practise continues on and on. If you ask them why they announce their coming, they'll tell you that if they come unannounced they wouldn't be given anything by the company as the company would say they have nothing @ the present. They aint even ashame to acknowledge it. This is what happens when people get job appointments simply because their father knows the brother to the sister of the mother who is in charge of recruiting. Making public offices family establishment. I do believe that this practise exist in most companies. Whatever her wrongs may be, I still do prefer the leadership of prof. Dora Akunluyi. She has done what no other NAFDAC boss has. People should beware of what they buy and eat as most food establishments buy their approval with money. Thanks. |
[quote author=curiouslad]Ever since I learnt to read and write, I've always come across various articles on newspapers decrying the state of roads in the country, yet nothing has been done about it. Even with the advent of blogs and social media , nothing is still being done about it. I don't think whining on this thread would do anything about it. Why not stage a PEACEFUL protest to your local government chairman.(Peaceful I say!) Follow your petition up even to the state level and see what comes out of it. The reason why this country continues to deteriorate is because we the followers have failed to take our leaders accountable for anything!! We think it is our God-given right and expect them to do it without asking!! I do believe that the you also feel the pain of these road. Correct me if I'm wrong. So my suggestion is that you lead the protest and we'll humbly follow. |
So I did make front page. Its definately a plus. |
The rain That's not it. Don't we have dry seasons? This road has always been this way. All I've seen the CCECC or whatever their name is do is to just build offices here and there with no work @ all. They deserve even more than that. They need to be flogged and fired!!! |
The extent of disgust to the lagos badagry express way is unspeakable. Ever since I've known that road it hasn't for once been without traffic. The level of damage this year around is just... Damn!!!. A journey that should be about 30 minutes takes close to 3 to 4 hours all because of the little pot holes here and there. This road isn't just a local one, its an international one cos its the major route to some neighbouring countries. You can't blame residents for staying here cos the majority of them are landlords. They own their houses. I'd love for the government to really do something about it and to do it fast as residents walk on foot almost everyday. They suffer on their way to work, suffer to get income for a living, suffer same ordeal back home. Then tell me how the lifespan of such wouldn't be cut short. If we have a government I do imploy them to act fast. The government of lagos state was said to start the repairs and recreation for over 4 years now and still @ dis time no change has been done. I don't even know who to blame, the government or the contractors. |

THAT'S OKAY: she is thinking long and hard on how and when you would pay for your mistake. Bonus word: WOW! This is not a compliment, she is amazed that one person could be so stupid. |
