The National Agency for Food Drug Administration Control (NAFDAC) seized about 100 cartons of expired Coke Zero beverage drink at a super market in Katsina metropolis on Monday October 22.


The state director of NAFDAC, John Agada, made the announcement in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN). He said:

“NAFDAC received a complaint from a consumer that a particular super market was selling expired zero coke. When we visited the super market, our officers found several cartons of Zero coke, which date of best use is June, 2018. By implication, it means that all the cartons of the zero coke are harmful and dangerous to the consumers and the owner of the super market was still in business selling the expired coke. NAFDAC officers immediately impounded the cartons of zero coke as the best day for drinking them had expired.”

He further urged members of the public in Katsina state to always check for the expiring date of any bottle of soft drink before consumption. He also warned owners and operators of super markets and provision stores to always check purchased items to avoid selling expired products to unsuspecting members of the public.

He said:

“Anybody caught selling expired items will face the full wrath of the law.”

A moon rock found in Mauritania, Africa weighing about 5.5kg (12lb), which is made up of six fragments, and the largest piece weighing about 3kg, and displays “partial fusion crust”, a coating created by the heat that sears the rock as it goes through the atmosphere.


It is to be auctioned in Boston, America, and is said to be one of the biggest pieces of the Moon to be put up for sale. The auction is going to be online and is going to run from 11th October – 18th October.

According to report, it could go for $500,000 (£380,000) or more in the US auction. It is said to have plunged into the Earth thousands of years ago.

“This is the only way a private collector can get their hands on a piece of the Moon, because the Moon rocks brought back by astronauts are US government property.”

The Police division in Abia state arrested a man who had been sleeping with his 17-year-old twin stepdaughters and eventually got one of them pregnant.

The man, who is identified as Cyril Ogolo is an indigene of Opobo, in Opobo/Nkoro Local Government Area of Rivers State and also a spiritualist where he lives in Aba, the commercial nerve of Abia State.

According to reports, Ogolo had been persuading the girls to sleep with him and they refused him, but he eventually had his way when they graduated from Secondary school.

He later went to his wife’s Church and accused them of aborting the baby one of the twins was carrying, and it was his allegation that made the church take the girls to a lab to run a test and then they found out one of the twin was 3-months pregnant for her stepfather. He later confessed to sleeping with his stepdaughters and being the father of unborn child. urce stated that Ogolo when questioned by the investigating officer, confessed sleeping with the girls and being responsible for the child one of them is carrying.

A fake shrine said to give people money in Oke-Woru, Gbaemu area in Osogbo, Osun state was raided yesterday by the Commissioner of Police in Osun State, CP Olafimihan Adeoye, and other police officers.

The owner of the shrine, Oyegbile Durojaye confessed that the shrine was made to con people on the pretext of helping them to overcome their problems.


He said:

“We are nine in this business. We met inside a police cell in Lagos and we became friend. It was from there that we planned this business. We are using Osogbo as the base and we set up the shrine here. We usually bring our victims from Lagos and finish the deal here in the shrine in Osogbo. We are using this whole building and no one enters here that would not be scared. But it is a mere costume. We have some women among us whose role was to act as witches. We have special rooms decorated in a scary way and we have one elderly man among us whose role was to act as spirit. My role is to bring our victims to Osogbo from Lagos and present such person to the witches and the spirit in the dead of the night. Then, the witches and the spirit would tell such person to make his demands and pay.”

According to the CP, said the search hunt for the rest of the gang members is still on and he further went on to warned Nigerians to be careful with people promising to solve their problems, that God is the only problem solver.

Enugu State Police Command recovered N8million from bank robbers who tried rob a bank at Nsukka, Enugu state. The money was kept in police custody till they realised that about N3.6million out of N8million had disappeared.

The State Police Commissioner, Mohammed Danmalam, said:

“I will investigate the matter and give you feedback please.”

The robbery happened in June, 2018 when a MOPOL guarding a bank behind Total filling station at Nsukka noticed that a robber, he then called for back-up from a closeby police station. The thief who was a newly recruited security man in the bank was caught with two bags containing N8million while he tried escaping the policemen and was eventually shot on one of his legs.

According to reports, the robber and the N8million was taken to their station. The thief who later confessed at the police station that he was hired as a security man in the bank a month ago and he also robbed the bank alone. When the police officers called the bank to collect the recovered money, they discovered that N3.6million was missing.

Nigerian comedian, actor and dramatist, Moses Olaiya popularly known as Baba Sala dies at 82. He died at around 10PM on Sunday October 7, in his home in Ilesa, Osun State.

His body has been sent to the Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospital Complex Annex, (Wesley Guild Hospital) in Ilesa.


He started his career in show business as a Highlife musician in 1964, with a group known as the Federal Rhythm Dandies where he taught King Sunny Adé who was his lead guitar player at that time.

President Muhammadu Buhari has returned to Nigeria today on Friday September 7, after a six-day trip in Beijing, China.

He met with some partners for the construction of the Mambilla power project before he left China.

President Muhammadu Buhari won the support of the president of China, XI Jinping, for Nigeria’s plan to build the 3050 Megawatts Mambilla hydroelectric power project.

This is contained in a statement issued by Garba Shehu who is the senior special assistant to the president on media and publicity on Wednesday, September 5.

The president informed his Chinese counterpart that the Mambilla project remains one of the key focuses of his administration.

President Buhari also sought additional Chinese funding for four airport terminal projects.

Two North Carolina women, Michaela and Candice are being charged with felony child abuse after allegedly given three children an apparent marijuana cigarillo to smoke.


Michaela Pearson, 21, and Candice Little, 18, are being held at the Forsyth County Jail on three felony counts of child abuse and three counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor, online records show.


On Thursday, a judge lowered the women’s bail from $150,000 to $100,000 each.

They were arrested by Winston-Salem police after the department received numerous complaints about a video, originally posted on Snapchat, which showed them holding a cigarillo to the lips of 3 children, with ages 2-years, 3-years and 18 months. According to reports, the women were babysitting the children.

At one point in the video, as a little girl takes a drag and begins to cough, one of the women can be heard saying, “Oh yeah, big gasp.”

The children were rushed to a local hospital and are still under observation.

Senator Bukola Saraki

The National Association of Nigerian Prostitutes, NANP, has announced in the support of Bukola Saraki running for the 2019 presidential election.


The association, therefore, called on all Nigerians to back the President of Nigerian Senate to ensure his emergence in 2019.

They made this announcement 24 hours after Saraki declared his intention to run for the office of the president in 2019.


The NANP President, Tamar Tion, said since the arrival of the new government in 2015, things weren’t easy for them, as they got low patronage and low income, due to the situation in the country.

She said:

“We are supporting Alhaji Bukola Saraki because he’s a man we can trust. Nigeria needs someone who is smart and can bring about change in the nation and not change by mouth.

“We are disappointed in this government because since they came on board, we have been living in hell on earth. Things have gone so bad.

“People no longer patronize us because no money anywhere. Person never chop ‘bellle full’ na lite em wan come lite?

“We need a real change and we think Saraki is the right man, not this baba go-slow.

“We shall be mobilizing our members in the 36 states of the federation and the FCT ahead of the election.”

Hassana Angyan, who has been married to Shuaibu Abdullahi for 30 years and have six children, told a Kubwa Grade 1 Area Court to dissolve her marriage with reasons of Abdullahi’s refusal to pray, drunkenness and beating her.

According to her, Abdullahi started drinking beer and refused to perform the five times obligatory Islamic prayers and didn’t partake in the just concluded Ramadan fast.

The judge, Abdulwahab Mohammed, however, told Hassana to observe her husband’s attitude and report back to the court on June 28.

Abdullahi, who pleaded guilty said he would write an undertaking to stop drinking. He is a cleaner at Efab Metropolis Estate, Dutse Express, Abuja.

He also said he would slash his salary into two, taking half and giving the other half to his wife for upkeep.

A 54-year-old Indonesian woman, Wa Tiba, who has been missing since Thursday, was found in the belly of a giant python after the swollen snake was seen around where she was last seen.


The seven-metre (23-foot) python was found bloated in the village of Persiapan Lawela on the island of Muna, offshore of Sulawesi.

The local police chief, Hamka, said:

“Residents were suspicious the snake swallowed the victim, so they killed it, then carried it out of the garden.

The snake’s belly was cut open and the body of the victim was found inside.”

Family members and residents began the search for the 54-year-old woman, when they realised she was missing. They found the snake about 30 metres away from Tiba’s sandals and machete.

The garden where she disappeared to was at the base of a rocky cliff, pockmarked by caves, and known to be home to snakes.
