PoliticsRe: Negative Influence Of Media In Africa by RickyRoss1(m): 12:36pm On Aug 19, 2011
Very sad but true,
The western media are all white supremacists, they never want to show anything positive about Africa. They want Africans and the rest of the world to see Africa as hell on earth. I got tired of their rubbish long ago and i stopped watching CNN, BBC and the rest.

When you show mud houses in Africa why not show the sky scrappers as well? Why is it always bad things they report about Africa? Famine, poverty, HIV/AIDS, Wars etchuh? Does it mean there are no positive things happening here? These western media will wake up one day and tell you 90% of all Africans live in abject poverty, how many people did they interview in Africa to get this figure?

Each time i go to my village i look around and i dont see the poverty the way they show it. Every man or woman in my village has a job no matter how small. There is fertile ground and food/fruits everywhere, every family in my village in Imo State has at least one graduate, so i dont see this poverty at all. I always tell people that we Nigerians are richer than the British but most of our people are too blind to see it. At least the global recession has opened their yansh now, at least we know America and much of Europe is in recession. In UK for instance everyone is in debt. They claim they are rich but they never buy anything with their own money, they have to buy on credit simply bc they dont have the cash to pay. Here in Nigeria everything i have belongs to me 100% bc i pay for it cash. From clothes to cars, properties, phones etc. In the UK its a different story, they claim this is their house but in reality it takes them 30 or 40 years to pay off their mortgages. Most people in the UK buy even mobile phones on credit simply bc they don't have the cash to pay.

Let me give you a good instance of western media propaganda in Africa. Last two years some European/American companies failed to get lucrative contracts in Ghana. Within few months they cooked up some reports claiming Ghana is the worlds 9th worst economy even behind Haiti that doesn't have any natural resources. Is this possible? What criteria did they use to arrive at that? Even they claimed Accra, Ghana is the worst city to live in the world. But since these western companies got the contracts they are looking for in Ghana, they have been singing Ghana praises lately. At the moment they claim Ghana is the best country in Africa even above South Africa and Botswana, Ghana is this and Ghana is that. We know they are singing these praises bc they need lucrative contracts in Ghana. AFRICANS PLS WAKE UP

PetroDolla:
Ricky_Ross, you obviously don’t know Nigerian authorities make it very difficult, if not impossible for Ghanaians to do business in Nigeria. If you talk to Ghana exporters they will tell you the hassles they face exporting to Nigeria. There is a lot of hostility within Nigeria towards Ghanaians. For a long time, Nigeria arbitrarily placed embargo on the import of variety of goods from Ghana. I am not therefore surprised trade between the two countries is extremely low-outside oil and gas.

I see a lot more hatred among Nigerians towards Ghanaians than I see in Ghanaians vice versa. I know most of you will try to deny this, but that is the truth. I know what I am talking about.  For me when anything I say about Nigeria is based on personal knowledge, not hearsay or third-party information. There is nothing about Nigeria I don’t know. There is no part of Nigeria I have not been to. Port Harcourt,Enugu,Owerri,Awka,Onitsa,Benin,Warri,Kano,Kaduna,Maiduguri,Yola,Makurdi,Wukari,Jos,Ibadan, Katsina,Lagos, Abuja and of course several more towns and cities. I visited some of these places a couple of times in the course of my official duties in Nigeria. I met a good number of your leaders as well as ordinary Nigerians. I saw and heard enough to know that Nigerians don’t like Ghanaians, period. I am not talking about me personally because I got the respect I deserved. But I am talking generally. So for me, I don’t need anyone to come to the Internet and talk about how Nigerians and Ghanaians are brothers and stuff. I used to think like that. How we are all Africans and brothers and stuff. No more. For me a Ghanaian is a Ghanaian, a Nigerian is a Nigerian, period. Nobody should come preaching about brotherliness and stuff like that. I know a brother when I see one.

You are being rather simplistic with a serious issue if you suggest the hostility is all about Nigerian women and stuff. And you seem to suggest Ghanaian men find it difficult to date Nigerian women. I think that is ridiculous, at least not based on my personal experience.

I have a Nigerian renting my house in Accra. I have also helped a lot more Nigerians that I have helped Ghanaians. What puts me off is the Nigerian tendency to assume they are better than everybody else!

Georessah, you can’t make any conclusive observations about Nigerians based on those you meet in Ghana. Of course I haven’t met any nasty Nigerian in Ghana, and I don’t expect to meet one (at least in Ghana). It is an entirely a different story back in Nigeria. I remember in 2009 I was in Abuja, and being a sports lover my favourite station was Brilla FM. That station had a particular presenter called Ignis Armah who simply loved to play Ghana music whenever he was on. And it was quite amazing the reactions he used to get. People will call in to ask are you a Ghanaian, did you live in Ghana and stuff like that. Must you live in Ghana or be a Ghanaian to play Ghanaian music on Nigerian radio? I remember an instance when callers actually called in to say please take off the Ghana music and play something else! This is just one small example of the several first-hand experiences of unbridled hostility.

I also want to correct the impression that Ghana deported and Nigeria also deported. The truth is that Nigeria carried out mass deportations twice-in 1983 and 1985.
You always sound very bitter and angry when discussing Ghana/Nigeria issues, in that case I would advise you go hug a transformer. Nobody is begging you to love Nigerians or anyone else. The wise ones among you will always love us since their hatred cant stop us. You cant curse whom the lord has blessed, period,

A Nigerian guy is renting your house in Ghana and you think you are helping him? Let me ask you, if you dont rent your house to him, wont he get accommodation elsewhere? You should thank him for renting your house man. When i talk about the Ghanians that i have helped i am talking about doing something other Ghanians could not do for them. Like sending them to school and giving some of them jobs both in Ghana and Nigeria. Some of these people are from my wife village, some i just met on the streets. For instance, there is this 16 years old girl i met 3 years ago in Accra. She was working in a chop bar. One day i asked her what her name is and why shes not in school. Anyway she revealed she doesn't know who her parents are. She was told her mom had 3 children from an unknown man and one day she dumped all 3 of them in her friends house and disappeared into thin air. This happened 10 years ago. Needless to say i and my wife agreed to enroll this girl in school. Shes very brilliant and will live to give her story one day.

As for Nigerians not wanting to listen to Ghana music. The answer is simple. Most Ghana musicians sing in local dialect, Twi. I am sure if you play any music by VIP Nigerians will love it. VIP is the most popular Ghana musician here, and i think they live in Lagos since last two yrs. Last year i brought some of Sakordie CD and even though he is a fast/good rapper, none of my friends wanted to play his CD again bc they are all in Twi. Not bc he is a Ghanian, but bc he sings in a language we dont understand. I know Ghanians love Nigerian musics like craze. I do go to Nite clubs in Ghana and notice the crowd will usually go wild every time there is Nigerian music. Its simple, bc the Nigerian musicians are good and they use English/pidgin.

As for your hatred on Nigerians, please dont stop, but i can promise you it will do you more harm than good. I wonder if anyone is begging you to love Nigerians? Your love or hatred cant change nothing. Since i noticed Ghanas hatred towards Nigerians I have started to redress my footsteps. I only love those that love us and hate those that hate us. I can never love my enemy.

In one of your post you claim you will chase Nigerians out? I have been hearing that same old s//h/i/t from toothless bulldogs like yourself since 5 years ago and till now nothing has happened. To be honest I would love to see that happen, so we see who will loose. Nigerian students in Ghana alone contribute hundreds of Millions of dollars to your economy. Lets get this started, start killing Nigerians today and I will be the first to kill thousands of Ghanians in Nigeria, lets see where it will lead us. In simple terms, Ghana needs Nigeria more that we need Ghana, and as such, Ghana cannot afford to loose Nigeria.
BusinessRe: Do You Think Nigeria Will Ever Be A Developed Country: ? by RickyRoss1(m): 9:44am On Aug 19, 2011
Yes Nigeria will certainly be a developed country someday but all hands must be on desk,
The problem is not just our corrupt leaders as we claim. What about the petrol sellers that use fake meters and stuffs to make lots of profits? What about the market women that wants to extort as much money as possiblehuh We all are guilty, one way or the other,

We will develop when we do away with ethnic sentiments. During the last election most people cast their vote based on tribe and ethnicity and I dont see this changing anytime soon.

Nigerians are very enterprising people. We have all we need to be the envy of all nations, both human and natural, what then is stopping us? You are I know the truth. Let me give just few instances. Why have we not dredged River Niger for over 30 years now? Simply because they know the South East will develop massively by itself. What about the Aba Shoe makers. All they need is just little government support and I can bet my life they will produce better shoes than what we import from Italy and the rest. To be honest, our leaders know what to do, but most times they are reluctant to do the right thing simply bc the project is not in their state or region,

I have heard many Nigerians, especially our brothers from South South Nigeria say they will never allow an Igbo man to rule Nigeria, even if he is the Messiah? Then why are we complaining about poverty? Let us continue to allow the same group of vision-less rogues rule us, no one should complain. If you complain thunder will strike you. As for me, i do not care whether we have good government or bad government. Just make as much money as you can and help your family and community.

georessah:
Hi everyone, this is my first ever post on this forum and I also registered just today. Matter of fact it was this topic that made me decide to join this forum. I am a Ghanaian, living and working in Accra. I see a lot of Nigerians here and I am sure you guys in Nigeria do see a lot of Ghanaians over there. To me, we are not that different from each other in terms of tradition and the people. But there is always this mistrust among us which I cannot understand though I kid myself into thinking I know the root cause of the mistrust. I think comparatively, Ghanaians are more reserved while Nigerians are very assertive. Both of these traits have their pros and cons and also complement each other very well. I am always aware that Nigerians tend to  see themselves as our (Ghanaians) big brothers, a view which we do not accept. But hey, I like Nigerians just like a lot of Ghanaians do. There might be a few incidents of name-calling here and there but we are one people. We just have too much in common to allow ourselves to be divided. Its nothing but banter.

I have always been against the perception of corruption about Nigerians. Since you have the numbers on your side, there will always be statistics available to spin up corruption allegations against Nigerians. A populous nation will always catch attention whether good or bad. I don't think Nigerians are any more corrupt than Ghanaians. Besides if you have too many people scrambling for the same fixed resources, why wouldn't there be attempts by others to reroute themselves to reaching those resources? Nigeria is a great nation. The people are wonderful except if you are timid, you might feel intimidated by them.

Someone said that thank God we are not Nigerians? Well I say to them that God never thought they were qualified enough to become Nigerians that is why he made them Ghanaians first. I am a Ghanaian and I love it. But I do not mind being a Nigerian since nothing beats that.
My dear God will bless your soul for speaking the truth. You sound very enlightened and speak only but the truth.
I love Ghanaians and see them as my big brothers. I help some of them whenever/wherever I can. I married a pretty cum educated Ghanaian lady from Fante and I relocated her to Nigeria since last year. As you know, Nigeria/Ghana maintains cordial relationship and we inter marry more than any other country I can remember in Africa. It wont be long before you see a half Ghanaian/half Nigerian being the next president of Ghana. But i hate it when some of your brothers see us in flashy cars in Ghana they assume all Nigerians are scammers when in reality a great number of Ghanaians are into 419 scam and sakawa. Why cant they just mind their business? Is there are bad thing we Nigerians do that Ghanaians dont do, from scam to prostitution and drug dealing.

I have tried many times to find out the truth about this Ghana/Nigeria rivalry? Ghana was the first nation to deport Nigerian citizens during the Busua admin. Nigeria retaliated later on during the Ghana must go era. I thought we people have buried the past behind us? Each time i ask my Ghanian friends why they think most Ghanaians hate Nigerians I get conflicting answers. A guy once told me it is because Nigerian men come to Ghana with nothing but within one year you see them driving big cars and marrying the prettiest Ghanian ladies and that Nigerian women dont marry Ghana men they way Nigerian men marry Ghana women? Does that make any sense? If you need a Nigerian woman why not go to Nigeria? The few Nigerian girls you see in Ghanaian schools are from rich homes and spoilt. You may not have the qualities they are looking for. Is that enough reason to even hate one?

Another guy told me to count all the big fast food chains in Ghana, mr bigs, one the run, tantalizers, chicken republic, papaye etc, and all the big companies, they belong to Nigerians. As a result, some Ghanians feel Nigerians are dominating/intimidating them in their own country and they dont like that. I ask again, is that enough reason to hate us?

I see this hatred more on the internet. In reality the hatred is not stopping our both countries from doing good business together. Last week two Nigerian oil companies got license to operate in Ghana's oil industry. What i dont like is the way our Ghana brothers sit down and not take advantage of Nigeria's huge population. I would like to see lots of Ghanian companies competing in all areas of Nigeria's economy just like Nigerian's are doing in Ghana. The owners of Alomo Bitters in Ghana are making hell of money in Nigeria. Their gin bitters was introduced into the Nigerian market just last year but it is already very popular. I wish other Ghanian companies will follow suit.
EducationRe: What Is The Relevance Of A University Degree To A Nigerian Youth by RickyRoss1(m): 9:48pm On Aug 18, 2011
Education is very good but the way we take university degrees in black Africa is quite alarming. In Nigeria most people go to university just because others are going. Most parents want to be respected in the society because their children has this and that degrees. How many of our so called university graduates can defend their courses?

I have traveled far and wide and have realized that Nigerians are among the most educated people on earth, yet we have nothing to show for it. We produce doctors and engineers that don't know their left from their right, In developed countries like USA and UK for instance, their citizens do not amass the number of degrees we Nigerians parade. The branch manger of one city bank branch in London has just college degree, but in Nigeria and much of West Africa you must have a masters degree or even Phd to be a branch manager of a bank. In the developed world, its all about what you can do. If you say you are a qualified electrician you have to prove yourself practically. But in Nigeria its all about how many degrees and certificates you have acquired which in reality you can hardly defend,

In my opinion I think we should think outside the box. Much of the world's billionaires do not have university degrees. Bill Gates didn't have a university degree when he invented Microsoft. If you think you cant achieve anything in life without university education then you are wrong. You just need to get at least high school education and think of being your own boss and eventually an employer of labor instead of amassing so many degrees and certificates and start looking for who will employ you. Why not think of employing people? I am a living testimony.

My dream was to be a surgeon and i already had admission into UNIPORT to study medicine but that dream died when i lost my father. The GSM revolution made me what i am today. At first i worked in small companies and saved up some money. I started a call center business and was selling recharge cards as well. Before one year I had 9 call centers in Port Harcourt with 9 girls in my employment. The next year i started selling phones. After two years i ventured into boutique business, bringing designer clothes from Hong Kong. Later on i started importing generators, cars and tiles. Today I have shops, boutiques and other businesses in 5 Nigerian cities and 3 countries in Africa. I plan to be in up to 30 countries before my 40th birthday. All I am trying to say is that there are lots of opportunities in Nigeria. You just need to open your eyes and think outside the box. Its very painful to see our brothers and sisters spending millions of naira to get visas to Europe/America. Why not invest your small money in Nigeria? Must you travel abroad? Europe and America is already saturated. You cant make it there unless you are highly educated or want to carry drugs which will put you in jail for a long time. There is huge opportunity in every sector of Nigerian economy. You don't need to have millions before you can start. You can start from somewhere and the good thing is you are your own boss.

Sun of god:
Ok - Mikel Dont Pay.

Play games with the kidnappers,

Wait for the federal govt to intervene,

Haggle with the kidnappers,

Call their bluff,

And start making burial arrangements for your papa.

silly Boy - Pay up and get your father his freedom back.

It seems your stinginess is the reason the old man is still working.

When you should have been seeing that he could retire once you hit the big time.

Useless Son,
YOU SOUND VERY JEALOUS AND PATHETIC. WHY ARE YOU SUPPORTING THESE CRIMINALS? EVEN IF MIKEL HAS ALL THE MONEY IN THE WORLD IS THAT ENOUGH REASON TO KIDNAP HIS FATHER? MY DEAR THIS GUY WORKED FOR HIS MONEY, HE IS NOT LIKE DEM GREEDY POLITICIANS THAT ARE LOOTING OUR TREASURY,

BESIDES, I HAVE SEEN MANY INSTANCES WHERE YOU PAY HUGE RANSOM AND STILL THEY KILL THEIR VICTIM. PAYING ONE BILLION DOLLARS DOES NOT GUARANTEE HIS SAFETY, I HOPE THIS KIND OF THING HAPPENS TO YOU SO YOU KNOW HOW IT FEELS-AMEN
CrimeRe: Kidnappers Demand N20m From Mikel’s Family by RickyRoss1(m): 8:09pm On Aug 18, 2011
THE MORE PEOPLE PAY FOR RANSOM TO KIDNAPPERS THE MORE THESE CRIMINALS WILL CONTINUE TO WRECK HAVOC ON INNOCENT CITIZENS, I KNOW WE ALL LOVE OUR PARENTS INCLUDING ME, MY MOTHER IS THE MOST IMPORTANT PERSON IN MY LIFE AFTER JESUS, BUT I WILL NEVER PAY RANSOM TO ANY CRIMINAL FOR WHATEVER REASONS.

IF YOU PAY RANSOM TO THESE FOOLS YOU ARE INDIRECTLY ENCOURAGING/EQUIPPING THEM. BUT IF WE STOP PAYING RANSOM THEY WILL QUIT AND LOOK FOR JOBS.  FOR INSTANCE, IF YOU STEAL A PHONE TODAY AND NO ONE IS BUYING THE STOLEN PHONES FROM YOU, TOMORROW WHEN YOU SEE PHONES LYING ON THE GROUND YOU WILL JUST WALK AWAY BC THERE IS NO BUSINESS IN STOLEN PHONES, BUT IN A SITUATION WHEREBY YOU HAVE HUGE NUMBER OF PEOPLE WAITING TO BUY STOLEN PHONES FROM YOU, THEN THE BUSINESS WILL FLOURISH. THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT IS HAPPENING IN THIS KIDNAPPING BUSINESS. IF WE STOP PAYING KIDNAPPERS THEY WILL STOP KIDNAPPING. IN MY OPINION, THE POLICE SHOULD ARREST ANYONE THAT PAYS RANSOM TO KIDNAPPERS BC THEY ARE ENCOURAGING THESE HOODLUMS.

I BEG TO DIFFER HERE. I HAVE A COUSIN THAT IS IN THIS SCHOOL BUT STUDYING A DIFFERENT COURSE FROM MEDICINE,
MOST STUDENTS DONT LIKE MU BC THEY ARE TOO STRICT. FOR INSTANCE YOU DONT WEAR TROUSERS IN CAMPUS, YOU MUST BE WELL DRESSED AND WELL BEHAVED IN SCHOOL. YOU DONT GO OUT WITHOUT PERMISSION AND NO VISITS FROM EVEN YOUR OWN FAMILY ETC. OTHER THAN THESE VERY STRICT RULES, MADONNA UNIVERSITY IS JUST LIKE ANY OTHER PRIVATE UNIVERSITY IN NIGERIA.

AS FOR THE ISSUE OF THEIR MEDICAL ACCREDITATION OR WHATEVER, SINCE SOME OF THEIR EX STUDENTS HERE ARE COMPLAINING THEN ITS A NO GO AREA,

Ricky_Ross, Can you use your brain for once? You illiterate son of a slut! You gotta get your bleeped up head outta the sand, you freaking cannibal.

Now clearly you need to have your head properly examined so you can stop spewing out trash. Ghana has a large and growing Nigerian population so what the heck if Nigerian newspapers are sold in Ghana. Ghanaian newspapers are sold in many place, including Nigeria and Liberia (to mainly Ghanaian communities). The only Nigerian publication that I see at a few newsstands in Accra is City People, which has a special Ghana edition. Have Ghanaians finished buying the dozens of newspapers produced in Ghana daily to start looking to buy a foreign one? Ask your Nigerian friends in the media. The Ghanaian newspaper system is very difficult to break into, especially if you are not Ghana-based.

Before you start running your mouth again, let me ask you, have you heard of rlg? And where did you get this foolish idea about Zinox? I know more about Zinox than your silly arse. Well, rlg –a Ghanaian-owned and Accra-based computer manufacturing company signed a deals worth several millions of dollars with the Ogun state government to provide computer and ICT knowledge to Nigerians like you. Where was Zinox?

Forget about producing anything in Nigeria. Everything in Nigeria is freaking imported, and that is the truth. Why do you think your ports are always overcrowded? I will never forget what Ojo Maduekwe said some time ago to me a small group. He said apart from the upstream sector of the oil industry, nothing works in Nigeria. And he added, we know why that is the case and we laughed. What he implied was that the upstream sector of the oil industry was only functional because foreigners were running it!

You mentioned weavons and wigs, body creames, soaps. Were they produced in Nigeria. I know in Nigeria, the most sought-after weaveon is a particular type they import from Ghana. I am sure you didn’t know that, huh?

I live in Accra and see it as a shame that some of you Nigerians peddle false information just to massage your ego and make Nigeria appear more important than it is. I lived abroad and returned to Ghana last year to take advantage of the numerous opportunities that exist in my beloved country. What has struck me the most is the number of factories that exist here. There is virtually no field of activity that you won’t see someone manufacturing or at least processing something. And what gives me the greatest joy is to walk into a shop and see that ‘Made in Ghana’ label. Like I said, I live here and shop a lot –I am yet to see those Nigerian goods on sale here-yes, I have seen a few ndomis and stuff, but the impression being created here that Nigerian goods have flooded shops in Ghana is very pathetic!

Again you said most books in Ghanaian schools were written by Nigerians. That is absolutely trash. Indeed the oppositite is the case. I personally know books written by Ghanaians athat are used in Nigerian schools. I wasn’t told this. I saw them with my own eyes. I think there is one or two by Quartey and others I can’t immediately mention. Go do your research very well. The best teachers in Nigeria are still Ghanaians, and this is a fact!

Somebody says every pharmaceutical item in Ghana has a NAFDAC no, meaning they were made in Nigeria. Do you know how ridiculous that sounds? Perhaps I should explain for fickle-minded folks like you. If a company in India produces a drug for sale in West Africa, they will put NAFDAC code on it as well the code of the regulatory body in Ghana, otherwise that drug cannot enter Ghana. NAFDAC registration is not recognized in Ghana. So what is the relevance of a NAFDAC code to products sold in Ghana? If not for the fact that you are hell-bent on seeing Nigeria in every product in Ghana, you would have also seen FDB on the label.

Well, I have seen Nigeria buy more than kente, alomo bitters to sell in our country. I have seen, not heard, them buy shoes, clothes, gold etc etc to sell in Nigeria. They told me it is cheaper here. That is what they said.

greatogwu , what are you doing in Ghana if you don’t think Ghana is making progress? I hope you are not one of those Igbo boys doing yahoo yahoo here? Very soon people like you would be flushed out!
My Dear You Sound Very Pathetic And Angry. Why Not Hug A Transformer Instead Of Talking Rubbish, You Are A Typical Ghanaian, Always Lying About Other African Countries So As To Look Good, But When We Tell You The Ugly Things That Is Happening In Ghana You Start To Get Angry? Out Of Sheer Stupidity And Frustration You Called Me Illiterate And Cannibal? But In Reality, The Simple Truth Remains That Nigeria Is Ghanas Current Colonial Master. We Can Make Ghana One Of Our State If We So Desire. As You Can See, Nigerians Own Much Of Ghana. All The 5 Star Hotels, Banks, Companies, Airlines, Fast Food Chains, Estates Etc All Belong To Nigerians. Ghana Cannot Do Without Nigerians. Your Government Delegates Flood To Nigeria Every Week In The Name Of Business Delegation, Always Begging Our People To Invest In Ghana Since White People Shun Ghana Totally.

You Can Bark As Much As You Like, But You Cannot Send Nigerians Away As You Claim. Instead, It Is Nigerian Government That Chase Thousands Of You Lazy Ghanaians Out Of Nigeria Every Year. Just Last Month Hundreds Of Your Sorry Asses Were Deported Back To Ghana. Why Cant Ghana Retaliate? Simply Because You Cant Afford To Loose Nigerian Investment. Just Incase If It Happens, Remember We Will Never Return To Nigeria With Poverty. Most Nigerians In Ghana Are Already Rich. We Will Go With Our Companies, Private Jets, Banks, Insurance Companies, Manufacturing Companies, Hummer Jeeps And Range Rovers, And By So Doing We Will Send At Least 40% Of Your Your Entire Work Force Into The Unemployment Market. Unlike When We Deported You Very Dark, Very Poor, Extremely Fat, Ugly, Dirty Ghanaians Out Of Nigeria You Guys Were All Packed In Lorries And Trailers With Dirty Ghana Must Go Bags. True Or False?

Now Back To Business. Rlg Is Well Known To Me, Infact I Know Ghana More Than You Bc You Are A Lost Ghanian In Diaspora Who Just Came Back And I Am Ready To Challenge You Anytime, Anyday. Rlg Was Established In February, 2001 As A Mobile Phone Repairs And Sales Agent Under The Name Rogam Links Ghana Limited. I Know Their Shop In Osu And Have Been There With My Wife Last November. Rlg Do Not Manufacture Phones As You Said, They Locally Assemble Mobile Phones And Laptops Made By Huawei Of China And Kzg Of Hong-Kong Which Is Not A Bad Thing. The Owner Of Rlg Is Mr. Roland Agambire From Northern Region Of Ghana. You Have The Guts To Ask Where Is Zinox? There Are A Lot Of Nigeria It Firms In Ghana Which Include Omatek Computers, Progenics Corporation, Computer Warehouse Group, Technology Distribution And Interswitch. Most Atms And Credit/Debit Cards In Ghana Use Interswitch And You Know What That Means, Anyway Lets Concentrate On Zinox Alone. For The Records, 60 Per Cent Of All Government Businesses In Nigeria Are Ceded To Zinox Computers Due To Proven Quality And Capacity.

You See, I Didnt Want To Compare These Two Companies Bc The Difference Is There. But You Just Forced Me To, Rlg Will Need To Work Hard Like 15 More Years To Compete With Zinox. Before You Fools Will Say I'm Lying, Just Go To Official Zinox Website For More Info: Http://Www.Zinoxtechnologies.Com/Landmark.Php

Talking About News Papers, Are You Not Ashamed That All Ghanaian News Papers Are Still Printed In Black And White As If You Are In The Dark Age.
You Must Be A Crazy Lair To Say Nigerians Come To Ghana To Buy Shoes, Clothes To Sell In Nigeria? First Of All, Clothes And Shoes Are Far Cheaper In Nigeria Than Ghana. I Have Boutiques In Both Countries And Can Testify To This. You Know Why Many Ghanaians Come To Lagos To Buy Body Creams And Weavon To Sell In Ghana? Simply Bc The Import Duty In Ghana Is Very Dear. In 2008 I Tried To Bring A Ford Explorer Suv To Tema From Nyc, I Contacted A Ghanian Custom Officer That I Know And You Know The Duty For This Suv? 8,000 Ghana Cedis Which Is More Than $5,000. I Later Shipped The Same Car To Lagos And It Cost Me Just 350,000 ($2,200) To Clear It From The Customs
Talking About Shoes And Stuff. Aba Is The Shoe Manufacturing Headquarters Of West Africa And When You Get There You Will See Mostly Traders From Cameroonian, Ivory Coast, Ghana, Senegal. Also, Gold Is Much Cheaper In Liberia Than Ghana And I Dont Know Why. But Most Nigerians Buy Gold From Dubai And Saudi.

Finally, You Just Exposed Your Ignorance By Calling An Innocent Nigerian 419? What About In Ghana Where Most Of The Youths Are Involved In 419 Scam (Sakawa)? PetroDolla:
Yeske!, First of all how do you define a country being poor and another being rich? From what we have seen in most countries, including Nigeria, it would be absolutely misleading to apply GDP alone to arrive at any definite conclusion regarding how rich a country is. We all know GDP for Nigeria is a product of mainly oil revenues. But how many Nigerians get to see all the oil money that is declared on paper? After IBB had taken his share, Abubakar carry im own, Goodluck, Mrs Goodluck, Anenih, Danjuma, and even Clark plus the rest of the oligarchy had taken their share, how much will be left for ignoramus like you? Very little! So though in theory Nigeria could be earning billions in GDP, in reality most Nigerians at least 90%-remain desperately poor.

But let me say this, what is of outmost importance to me is the quality of life of the citizens. What defines a country being rich,in my reckoning, is how many people have access to potable water, reliable electricity, security, motorable road- I will paste the story about only 15% of Nigerians roads being motorable for you to see.I want to see how many citizens have access to functional health care, quality education, what is the life expectancy? How safe is the country?Have they found Mikel's papa yet? For me, that is a good way to define how rich a country is. My idea of how rich a country is is not defined by how many mansions there are, how many limos there are, how big someone's agbda is, or how often people throw a party, how outrageously expensive lace they wear, or how big they spend money.

By the way, I see lots of Nigerian women coming to Ghana to buy things to take back to Nigeria to sell. Go to the ABC, and all the terminals of Nigerian transport companies in Accra in the late evening and see the cargoes that are being packaged for Nigeria. I was speaking to a woman from Benin City the other day and she told me she makes good profit. Some of you are so ignorant and have your heads buried in the sand, and don't even deserve any attention!

But let me say this, if Nigeria is your idea of a 'rich' country, then I pray that no country in the world experiences such 'riches'

Only 15 per cent roads are motorable in Nigeria- Daily Trust

The Rural Access and Mobility Project (RAMP), under the auspices of the Federal Ministry of Agriculture, said while a large population of Nigerians live in the rural areas, only 15 per cent of federal roads are in good condition.
National Co-ordinator of Rural Access and Mobility Project, Engineer Ubandoma Ularamu, made this revelation yesterday in Osogbo, Osun State, while presenting his address at the opening ceremony of the 2010 RAMP Annual Retreat and Review Meeting.
“Out of over 160,000 kilometres of secondary and tertiary roads in Nigeria, with an average registered network of 4,000 kilometres per state, only about 10-15 per cent is paved.

I said i wont be responding to blind fools like yourself but let me educate you a little.
The number of Ghanians that troop to Lagos to buy items they resell in Ghana by far outweigh the few Nigerians that come to Ghana to buy items. Check the records or ask Ghana immigration officers at Aflao to help you out,
The only thing Nigerians buy from Ghana is the Ghanaian Kente and Alomo Bitters, other than this, there is nothing else you can bring to Nigeria from Ghana.
However, most weavons and wigs, body creames, soaps etc on sale in Ghana is imported from Lagos. The hottest and best selling computers/laptops in Ghana is made by Zinox Nigeria, an indigenous Nigerian company which has the largest computer shop in Africa. I can go on and on. My inlaw himself comes to Lagos to buy phones/electronics which he resells in Accra just like many Ghanians do. Even though we dont have reliable electricity in Nigeria, yet enter any shop/supermarket in Ghana and you will see loads of Nigerian items all over Ghana, including common things like Nigerian news papers, magazines, drugs etc. very soon before the end of the year made in Nigeria cars will be on sale in Ghana, courtesy of Innoson Vehicle manufacturing Company, Nigeria. Not long ago the Ghanaian government sent a delegation to this Nigerian company to beg them to come invest in Ghana.

We dont have electricity in Nigeria yet we produce much of what we use locally, and export some to other countries including Ghana. Ghana that claims to have good schools cant even produce world class scientists or authors, over 80% of books/novels used in Ghanian schools are written by Nigerian authors. Foolish Ghanaian will be quick to tell you how many Nigerians are studying in Ghana without realizing there are thousands of Ghanians studying in Nigeria as well. Nigeria may have so many problems but hey Nigeria does not have 4,000 schools organized under trees like in Ghana.

Besides, I make international calls on Glo at 9 naira per minute, which is over 75% cheaper than mtn,
I cannot use a network that doesnt care about its customers. To me its Glo all the way

Well, he did built the centers in Gbagada as vowed and its for nigerians from every corner of nigeria.
Its called responsible leadership and prudent thinking.

Its good to see you people are learning the heard way, I'm not saying you people are capable of doing anything beyond talk sha.

Maybe on day one day you people will get there.
Eko Ile:
Unfortunately, this ibo man went to war to try undo what another ibo man named forced to join together. Ibo people are proud of zik because he was a nationalist and he unified and keptg nigeria together , at the same time they are proud of another ibo man who destroyed millions of lives while trying to destroy what ibo people claimed the other ibo man kept together because he was some nationlist nonsense.

Basicaly, ziks actions led ojukwu to war  because if ziks unwise and flawed move to sell us out to the north and betrayed a souther nigeria, millions of ibo people wount have died, ojukwu wount have led ibo people to war to undo ziks actions.

Why ibo people are on both sides of this fence is very sad and the same time laughable.
I dont know why you so much hate the Igbos and other Nigerian tribes except your tribe yoruba? Why not break away from Nigeria and form your own oduduwa republic? You even like anything and everything Ghanaian, and you hate your own?

I also dont understand what Fashola has done that makes you worship him the way you do, he is just an ordinary Nigerian politician and with the billions of US dollars at his disposal he can build world class medical centers in every LGA in Lagos. Dont get me wrong, Fashola is trying according to Nigerian standards, and so is Amechi, Chime and so many others,

There is nothing wrong in praising your tribe, but stop going out of your way to insult others especially the Igbo nation bc we will not take it from you. Remember we Igbo's always do what we say, we just dont bark and make empty noise like you. We Igbos dont give a phuck whether a noise maker like you is existing or not. I am not going to insult the entire yoruba tribe just bc of a toothless bull dog like you. This is your first and last warning. Nairaland is the most popular forum in Nigeria, this is not a place to spread lies and ethic hatred. If you hate the Igbos just go to the streets of Lagos and start killing them physically and see what happens.
Next time if you dont know what to say about the Igbos, JUST SHUT THE P/H/U/K UP

PoliticsRe: Ghana Is Currently The World's Fastest Growing Economy! Where Naija? by RickyRoss1(m): 3:36pm On Aug 15, 2011
This is good news for Ghana and I congratulate them.
However, this is not the time to start shouting hosana hosana. Ghana is the fastest growing economy at the moment mainly because of oil exports and nothing else. Equatorial Guinea was once the fastest growing economy in the world when they started pumping oil from one of their biggest oil fields but in real development most roads in that country are untarred, and most of their citizens live in abject poverty.

You can start shouting and praising God when you see real developments in Ghana. Most things in Ghana are either made in Nigeria, Asia or America. Enter any shop or super market in Ghana and see things for yourself. Almost every item in Ghana has NAFDAC registration number.

Ghana is just like any other black African country. The Ghanaian politicians are very corrupt, which is why the have run down almost every government establishment in Ghana, from multi billion dollar companies like Ghana Airways to Ghana telecom to the smallest companies. Bc of corruption Ghana has over 4000 basic schools organized under trees, most roads in Ghana are being constructed/rehabilitated by the USA via Millennium Challenge Account. Most Ghanians live in poverty, most Ghanians cant read and write, 60% of Ghanians shit open air since they are too poor to build toilets etc.

While many of Ghanas citizens are happy with the new oil find, the politicians are busy stealing as much as they can. Ghana is the second largest producer of cocoa in the world just after Ivory Coast, producing over 20% of the world’s cocoa beans. Ghana is also the second largest producer of gold in the world (its former name was Gold Coast) and has huge deposits of industrial diamonds and bauxite (aluminum). If after 54 years of independence Ghana has nothing to show with all the gold and cocoa, then i doubt if they can move an inch with the recent oil find.

Nigeria was a far much better country before the advent of oil. We were the envy of all nations back then. With our agro based economy we were self sufficient and most European countries stopped giving us aid because our economy was better than theirs. But suddenly we discovered oil and became lazy and everything changed.

The government of Ghana should learn from Nigeria's mistakes. Diversify your economy as fast as you can and stop relying solely on cocoa/gold/oil for income. The government should build standard schools and make education free to all Ghanians, from primary to secondary school. Primary school education is free in Ghana at the moment and the pupils get free feeding as well. They should extend this to secondary schools. Its a shame you come to Ghana and so many grown up boys and girls, including taxi drivers cannot speak even pidgin English, they expect everyone, including foreigners to speak their native language Twi, its a shame. Such people should be sent to adult education. The government should also invest heavily in agriculture, and encourage/support SME's, financially and otherwise.

The sad thing is the Ghanaian politicians are not sincere. Even before the oil money started flowing last year, they signed a Multi Billion Dollar contract with STX Korea to build low cost housing estate for Ghana thereby mortgaging the future of Ghanian's after collecting so much bribe behind the scenes. The saddest thing is that these low cost houses will be built by Koreans instead of using Ghanaian companies. This is complete waste of public fund and over 70% of Ghanian's are against this deal but yet the government cannot cancel it bc they have already collected bribes.

The fools spreading these fake news are angry that a true Niger Deltan is ruling Nigeria for the first time. This born to rule mentality in Nigeria MUST stop. We the Nigerian people voted for GEJ and will judge his performance in 4 years time. For now its too early to rush to conclusions. Even if you like make up a story that GEJ has rob a bank, it wont change nothing-Whom God has blessed, no one can curse.

GEJ please do your job well and leave the rest to God. No matter what you do people must talk & criticize. Even if you share one million US dollars to every Nigerian citizen today there are still many people who will complain and criticize you.

GEJ you were born poor and today God has made you president of Nigeria. You must have known before now that most Nigerians are poor, and before you choose to run for the presidency i believe you have plans to tackle our numerous problems. Now is the time to prove yourself. If you do well God will bless you. If you join the rest of them greedy/corrupt leaders then God will judge you. Nigerians are patiently watching/waiting,

Nigeria vs Ghana: From the beginning!

Sports News Tuesday, August 9, 2011

The first real competitive match between Ghana and Nigeria took place on August 28, 1960, according to Fifa's official website.

On that occasion, Ghana ran over Nigeria by 4 - 1 in a Fifa World Cup qualifier at the Accra Sports Stadium, Accra. The clash in 1960 was "the first-ever preliminary match south of the Sahara" according to Fifa.

In the 4 - 1 win of 1960, Edward Acquah, Edward Boateng, Aggrey Fynn and Mohamadu Salisu got Ghana's goals while Dejo Fayemi was Nigeria's goal scorer.

But soccer pundits say that the clash between the two biggest West African football teams dates back beyond 1960.

Records available show that the Ghana and Nigeria may have first clashed on May 28, 1950 in a friendly game in which the Red Devils of Nigeria, as they were known then, triumphed by a lone goal over Ghana.

Nigeria's biggest win over Ghana happened in the Kwame Nkrumah Cup on February 23, 1963 when they won 5 - 0.

I am a Christian, love God and stuff, but when it comes to marriage I will do away with sentiments and face reality,
IMO I believe it is good to know your partner in and out, sexually and otherwise. If you meet any girl who wants you to marry her before sex, then there is 90% chance shes hiding something from you. Its either shes tired of hit and run men, or her kitten is too wide & not good enough. Same with the men. In this modern world today if you meet any man who wants to marry you before sex, then something is wrong with his manhood/erection and this is a fact.

As for pregnancy before marriage, i dont think its good though. In my church if your wife to be is already pregnant then no church wedding for you.

Why should he tell you so you and other haters reading this can take a lynch mob there? How about all the acts of sabotage Globacom is experiencing in Ghana? Did the Ghanaian manager of Globacom not say , and I quote, "we do not have this problem anywhere else in Africa but Ghana"?

Rick , please don't reveal any more info . Are you the only Nigerian with thriving businesses in Ghana to the extent you have to prove anything to anyone? We dey plenty on the ground well well and that is no "lie". I know how you feel but do not let this dude get under your skin to the extent you wan't to prove him wrong with real facts. Even if it is your Ghanaian wife that runs your business , you will still be putting her in danger because this thread would have riled up a lot of Ghanaians. You yourself know their witch hunt mentality, and indeed you gave us an example, where nigerians are involved . My wife for example, is very conscious of the hate some have for her because she is with a Nigerian. It is a basic hate similar to how white supremacists disown family members who are in relationship with black folks. One of her friends at Uni in the UK revealed to my wife how her dad , A Ghanaian MP, threatened to disown her if she did not stop seeing this Nigerian guy she was dating back then !!! Poor girl had to comply when other family members joined in to pressure her !!!!

Keep the convo flowing but don't reveal anything further about yourself. You don't have to prove anything to anyone least of all indolent folks who can only hate those they see achieving on their own soil. The example that still best illustrates the business indolence of Ghanaians is the franchised restaurant Chains. All Ghanaians can open , in their own Country, are little "chop bars" yet Nigerians and the Lebanese have cornered the Market with Chicken Republic, Mr. Biggs and Papaye. As we speak more chains from Nigeria are considering entry into Ghana. When you know what you know , as someone present on the ground, it is no longer a challenge to prove anything to anyone. The physical evidence is on the ground , in Ghana, of Nigerian enterpreneuship and Ghanaian business apathy even if they want to lie that we are all "armed robbers" and "419ners". Let them call you a liar . Abi you also fabricated lies about all the successful Nigerian businesses physically present on the ground in Ghana?
@Gbawe God will bless you for speaking the truth about some really silly Diaspora Nigerians who peddle lies and rumors all the time. Instead of whining about how bad Nigeria is why not think of how you can contribute to make Nigeria a better place for all. I remember when Obama was elected President of America he said Americans should not sit on their ass and wait for what America will do for them, rather they should think of what they can do for America.

I thought i was alone, i didnt know some people like you faced the same problems I faced when i wanted to marry my wife. The good thing is my father inlaw once lived in Nigeria for 17 years and so he loves Nigerians to death and he even speak some Yoruba language. But other members of the family were against our union. At some point some of their relatives were calling me from London and Canada telling me to leave their daughter alone. My wife called back and questioned these people what they have done for her since she was born, and why has she become so important simply because she was getting married to a Nigerian man? Some of those fools were telling my wife never to marry a Nigerian man because we will use her for blood money bla bla bla. I reminded them if i wanted some for rituals it would be easier for me in Nigeria. I also reminded them that Ghana boys/girls are leaders when it comes to juju and blood money. The Nigerian men who invented 419 scam are all alive today enjoying their wealth, the Nigerians use their god given brain/wisdom to defraud people. But sadly Ghanains are too dumb when it comes to brain work, all the Ghana 419ers use charms to make it easy for their victims to believe them. This is called SAKAWA in Ghana. You don't go around burning and looting shops in the name of being heard; that is just criminal behaviour. The black community in the UK needs to take some responsibility for our own shortcomings. The solutions to our problems must come from within, the excuses and blame game will get us nowhere. It hasn't got us anywhere in the last 50 years or so anyway.

It will take a lot of time to change attitudes and begin to take advantage of the opportunities which abound even though some may disagree there isn't. I believe the way out is for black people in the UK to embrace education and for parents to make sacrifices to ensure their children achieve the best they can. If it means doing 2 or more jobs to ensure they can live in a good neighbourhood for their children to go to a good school or even privately educate them then so be it. That is what Indian parents do and that is why they are streets ahead of other monirity groups in terms of social mobility. You don't get something for nothing in life, you must make sacrifices. They also need to get rid of the self-pity and the we-against-them mentality that seems to becloud their judgements when confronted about how to tackle the issues.

These Ibo guys will not be allowed to destroy our heritage. Ngige bought a bullet proof jeep whilst he was the gov of Anambra in which he had an accident within a week and the jeep was a write off. Fashola constructed a lot of roads, built hospitals, schools e.t.c this media forum did not report all these. A former gov in d east was alleged to have collected money from job seekers under the pretence of getting them jobs. Jobs, he did not provide, money, he did not refund. Pls treat your wound b4 attending to others.
Brotherly pls let us not go into another tribal war here. I am Igbo and I respect Fashola a lot, including Sulivan Chime, Amechi and Rochas because I have been to all these states, spent weeks there and witnessed the massive transformations going on in their states. Even if someone come here on Nairaland to claim Fashola raped their mother without any evidence that is not enough reason to badmouth the entire Igbo nation. What evidence do you have to prove that the poster is from Igbo? Just so you know, Fashola and all the governors i mentioned above are all human beings and they all are not perfect. During the last election i didnt vote for party or tribe, not even religion. I look at the individual critically and not the party or tribe he belong. Nigeria cannot move forward till we get rid of tribalism, Finally, Fashola is one of the few good leaders we have in Nigeria today and thats a FACT.
