denko: atleast for the six month of this administration of Goodluck Jonathan we have enjoy one thing that most of us (nigerian) have not, for the past 25 years of our existence. we should not be judging people with sentiment, if we let our sentiment to control our sense of judgment then all of us i mean all of us will suffer it. if there is fuel scarcity who will suffer most it is you and i. some of us are just posting whatever that comes because we allow religion, region, sentiment to becloud our reasoning. we need to wake up from all these to make nigeria a better place for all of us. And you have outgrown these sentiments! Pls tell us the history of fuel crisis in this country. You may confine your analysis to the last 5 years. |

krendo: "Mr. President, you plan to borrow 33% of the entire budget, or 3.62% of GDP which is higher than the 3% stipulated in the Fiscal Responsibility Act. Your total debt service is N542 billion (which is higher than your total capital spending on power, roads, health and education put together).
even with a zero capital budget you plan to borrow about N400 billion to add to revenue to finance CONSUMPTION.
"Mr. President, let me draw your attention to the simple meaning of your budget: not one kobo of our oil revenue (at a time of oil boom) is being spent on power and infrastructure. Rather, you plan to spend the entire oil revenue on consumption, and even borrow to consume. Every KOBO of capital budget is to be borrowed. If you continue to borrow at the average interest rate of 14% by the 2012 budget, your borrowing in 2011 will add another N196 billion to debt service payment (and hence by 2012 debt service might be in excess of N738 billion)," he said.
"At the rate you are going, by 2015, debt service payment will be in excess of N1 trillion. If oil price drops below $50, it is evident that Government will not be able to service its debt without austerity measures. Is this what you plan for this country?" Atiku queried.
Atiku said his own envisaged plan to restore the nation's public finance to a path of sustainability is to spend at least 40% of the budget on capital budget as opposed to Jonathan's zero on capital. These are issues. At least that is what the presidency called for. Now rather than attacking personalities, let the Johnathan address issues. |

[b]Outside The Nigerian customs you have not done any other gainful employment which we know of but yet you own several firms among which is Intels Nigeria Limited an oil services company which operates in Angola, Equatorial Guinea, Gabon and Sao Tome and Principe and as such during your 8 years as vice president your regime made sure that Nigerians had to queue up to get fuel which we were naturally blessed with just to protect your interest "abi" are you not the same owner of African petroleum?
Another person has dealt with the others. AP was sold to Sadiq petroleum. But Obasanjo kept insisting that Sadiq Petroleum was owned by Atiku, he denied it. Nevertheless, Obasanjo revoked the sale and resold it to Otedola 1. Your premise that he sold several companies to himself cannot hold water because like Obj did with AP, he would have recovered all from Atiku 2. Note that while Obj was accusing Atiku, he was buying up shares in Transcorp to which the FG had earmarked some juicy concessions. Eventually Obj was forced to divest his 200m shares in Transcorp. This must have cost at least N600m. Recall that before he became president again in 1999, Obasanjo was nearly bankrupt 3. Check facts before posting because you are beginning to look like somebody on a mission to destroy some candidates. While you query the authenticity of some posts by others, you are making factual "errors" in yours |

Abagworo: Are we sure Sahara reporters is not owned by Atiku? They seem to be digging for every of GEJ's faults and it is getting too bias for my liking even though I do not support GEJ at the moment.
What is paining me most is Jonathan's refusal or inability to initiate the process of true federalism.IBB is the only other candidate that could have done that.Buhari who appears to be the eventual winner has my support because he will deal with these corrupt PDP mofos. Stop all of that about Sahara Reporters. They provided copies of letters and you are wondering. Why are your colleagues in the Johnathan league not here? They are probably scratching their heads and strategising on how to deal with this calamity while everyone is wondering how to save the nation from these looters Now you are for IBB. Where were you when he was being hounded here? Did you speak up? |

dayokanu: Oh I knew he was elected as an ANPP governor, I didnt know he defected back to PDP. How could he be in ANPP when his wife is Yaradua's daughter? Yuguda left PDP to contest under ANPP when he was locked out of the race by the PDP establishment. After winning under PDP, he went back to PDP. When his Deputy refused to go back to PDP, he tried to get the man impeached. It was messy for a while but the Deputy survived |

Beaf: After all the Boko Haram, Maitatsine, burning of babies, riots and other products of religious extremism in the North? All without a religious bigot as president. You want us to rush out of the pan into the fire? Please tell me another story, cos this one is dead on arrival. We totally reject a zealot as president. The man was once president, kindly tell us the number of such incidents that happened during his time? Back up your assetions with facts, otherwise quit the scaremongering. And Johnathan is not an ethnic bigot? Did he not, while campaigning in the SS, stand there while Anenih was threatening to use his skills as an-policeman to fish out and deal with anybody who dared vote for Atiku in the PDP primaries Did Johnathan allow Atiku to exercise his right to campaign in the SE Buhari is better than all those prehistoric elements in PDP. Nigeria really needs sanity |

When is the beatification of ANENIH, AKALA, DANIEL?I believe you and Johnathan believe that these people deserve GCON |

Politics › Re: Victory For Democracy! - Jonathan Finally Agrees To Debate by Righton: 6:08am On Jan 04, 2011 |
sammy187: people pls tell me the essence of having debates when two people that we definitely know are not going to transform Nigeria are involved. the fact that they say good things during the debates do not guarantee that they would be done, look at how far we have come 50 years and a lame man with good intention cannot wake up one morning and say he wants to be president and actually win. we should not be bothering our selves about all these but how we can make free and fair elections possible so we can elect people who have actually done something for the nation(not just sharing food and giving out money) before coming up from nowhere and saying he or she wants to be the head. The debate cannot hurt your desire for free and fair elections. You may even want to submit questions on that issue. These guys do not have what it takes, but they may use the might of PDP to rig themselves in. So let us know how well they will be able to do in the face of fire while in office |

bisiaet: I wont want to comment on this debate muchh but people saying GEJ is weak, he cant express himself, he can not think fast and so on I find it hard to belief someone who studied in Nigeria no matter where he grew up from and he attained the level of education he has today and some still refer to him as slow, unintellegent, dummy all this qualities attributed to him really shock me.
The truth as far as i'm concern this man called GEJ is not slow or unintellegent this man is just playing gentleman politics and just trying not step on law of the land like past leaders did, he is just been careful. Nobody is a dummy every dog can bark and give a deep bite no matter how spoilt the dog is so I never see any body born as Nigeria a dummy.
I even fear people like him most because you can not understand their mind easily and they are always hard if you are closer to them. If Atiku is to be in position of GEJ TODAY I belief by now GEJ will be in prison or just look for one frivlous accusation to nail GEJ down but this man called GEJ play a mature politics and people now say a man that was born in Delta is a dummy or slow to think I seriously laugh this off because it is not true and never a deltan ways at all. LetS all wait and see how the debate will go. David will alwayS defeat Goliath till heaven will come so if anyone think he knows all, please fellow posters is a lie of the devil, its only God that knows all. Pride and overconfidence always ends in failure and disgrace lets wait and see. Stop making illogical excuses. Nobody ever said Prof Claude Ake was unintelligent. Noboday would dare accuse Prof Utomi of shying away from debate. So it is not about Niger Delta GEJ and Sambo do not appear to be very sharp. They would remain like that even if they were chinese. We don't want a president to be feared. We don't want a president we are told he is awesome. Let him come and overawe Atiku, an illiterate customs officer, with his very sharp intellect Why do you even want to hold the debate on behalf of GEJ. Are you planning to rule on his behalf? |
