Wolexy1212: AP Changed to Issued December 11 was strictly a denial and an AP day. Aanexplus and others can relate. When I almost heard your visa has been... The VO said I'll have to place a check on your documents and get back to you in few days. Mehn! I check my status every 2hrs, AP may appear worse than outright denial because you're practically stuck until they respond. He collected every damn document (Certificate, Transcripts, Professional Licence, GRE, TOEFL SCORES, Account statements...)
Interview at window 7 Me: Good morning, how was your weekend Vo: Good morning, pass me your documents
Vo: Tell me about the program Me: I'm going to WCU to pursue my masters degree in public health, it's a 2yr and 45unit course, I'll offering 24units of core courses and 21units in my major, some of the courses include Epidemiology, Biostatistics, Transcultural health, Behavioral health.... After the program, I would come back to Nigeria to establish my community pharmacy and partner with NGOs or Federal ministry of health. Vo: I don't see any relationship between this degree and coming to establish a community pharmacy. Me: no, this degree focuses on preventing diseases, promoting health and prolonging life. These are what I do on a daily basis at a community pharmacy Vo: Nodded, okay...started checking my job description on DS160. Tell me your duties at your place of work Me: I manage and oversee the smooth running of the pharmacy, I'm involved in procurement and inventory management of medications, I counsel clients on the appropriate use of medications. Vo: did you take GRE, tell me the breakdown Me: I did. Vo: Tell me the prescriptions you fill Me: I wasn't expecting that, I told him I fill prescriptions for OTC (over-the-counter) drugs such as aspirin, paracetamol, POM(prescription only medicines) antibiotics, opioids...cuts in Vo: who's paying for your trip Me: my dad and uncle Vo: what do they do Me: told him Vo: do you have their account statements Me: yes Vo: lemme have them, give me GRE results. What other documents do you have? That's how I gave everything Vo: gave me white paper and said he'll be placing a check on them. People were congratulating me and asking me to 'wash' it for them.. They always think once you are not with you passport, you've gotten your visa. I couldn't wash my AP then but now I can. All thanks to this great thread. My conscience will keep disturbing me if I don't share this transcript. Wishing all the new applicants, the very best in their interviews. Peace! congrats man, few things are scarier than AP, been like that for me since 13th December and I think it is affecting my BP lol .Did you get a text or an email or you only checked to see a status change ? Because I check mine every couple of minutes lol |

bigfrancis21: AP often means that you have been granted but your documents have to be verified first. If your documents are genuine, no worries you would be granted. A member of this thread, Sharles, had a similar experience last month or so - he was put under AP and after two weeks or so his visa was issued.
Visit this website to check on the status of your visa: https://ceac.state.gov It changes from 'AP' to 'Issued' once your visa has been approved and produced.
There is no need returning to the embassy. I doubt you would be granted entry into the embassy without an appointment anyway. All you need to do is wait for 1 week or 2 for your visa to be issued once your documents are valid.
Hope this helps. thank you, yes it helps |

LagosNIV: Hello righturn -
You will be contacted when we have completed the administrative processing. Typically you will receive a SMS and an email to the contact number and email address you provided through CGI when filling out your application. Any estimates the officer made about how long the administrative processing would take were just estimates. Rest assured that we get through the work we need to do on cases in administrative processing as quickly as we can.
You may schedule a new appointment if you would like, as a back up, but if the administrative processing on your first case has not been completed and a final decision has not been made on your first application, then no further applications can reach a final decision until the administrative processing is completed either.
LagosNIV Thank you Sir for your prompt response |

Hello all, please I need some advice
I had my interview two days ago, the consular after collecting my bank statements and passport handed me a yellow slip stating that my case requires administrative processing and that my visa decision will be delayed by a week. I am very concerned as my school resumes in less than a month from now. Please here are my questions
1. Since the consular said my visa is delayed by a week, may i return to the embassy with the yellow slip next week wednesday? Will I be allowed entry if I present my last interview documents and my yellow slip? 2. I have read that administrative processing might cause delays that span into months, may I schedule another appointment for same f1 visa, incase my passport comes in late and a visa is not issued? I asked this because available appointment dates are fast running out before the start of my program. Please I will appreciate any advice at this point. Thank you |

Hello gurus
Please I need advice, i applied to two schools for spring 2018, one school gave me an offer over a month ago, i tried waiting for the other school as it is my preferred option but they delayed in making a decision. Since appointment availability were running out, I paid sevis fee with the first school i-20, filled DS-160 with it and booked an appointment(In December) with the details of the first school. My issue now is I just got an offer from my preferred school some days ago. I need advice on what to do to still attend the school with the new offer. Thank you |

tosinooo: Things you need when booking visa appointment 1) Sevis ID 2) Gtb reference number 3) School code 4) DS 160 application ID. I requested for my Sevis ID and school code from the school prior to the arrival of my I20 and that was what I used to book my appointment without submitting my DS 160 tho, as I didn't want to make mistakes. I think you can transfer to the other school when you get to US, don't know how that's done tho. I hope this helps thank you very much, i understand now |

tosinooo: I booked the visa appointment without submitting my DS 160 because I hadn't received my I20 form. What you need while booking the appointment is the application ID of your DS 160 as it's also the same as the confirmation number. you need to note down your application ID and security questions as they will be required for you to retrieve your DS 160 application. So if you indeed get the other offer, you can edit it and submit. Meanwhile, I'm not sure you can edit after submitting your visa appointment application as the Sevis ID must tally with the information in their database. So I'd advice you go ahead and book your appointment as time is running out. Thank you tosinooo, if i go with your suggestion my visa appointment form will have a different sevis id from my DS-160,because i require a sevis id to complete the application. Would that be an issue? Also how were you able to book an appointment without a form i 20 |

Hello gurus,I need help
I applied to 2 schools for spring 2018, I am yet to receive a decision on 1 of my applications (the school i prefer). I have been offered an admission by the other school and even received my form i-20. With available appointment dates fast running out here are my questions
1) Can I book an appointment before submitting my DS-160 (incase i get an offer from the other school, so I may edit the information to suit my new program )? 2) I am to indicate my SEVIS ID when booking the appointment, can I edit it after booking the appointment (If i get an offer from the other school) and if not, will it matter if the SEVIS ID i used to book the appointment is different from the information in their database? 3) Generally I wish to be advised on what to do in a situation like this i.e appointment availability running out and delayed admission decision.
Thank you. |

LagosNIV: Hello righturn -
1) yes. You'll need to start a DS-160, but you can then log back in and complete it, or you can fill out a new one and associate the new one with your appointment. 2) your SEVIS id will not change, but you can transfer your SEVIS from one school to another.
Regards,
LagosNIV thank you sir for your response but please, 1) How may i associate a new DS 160 form with an appointment already booked with another DS-160 ID ( as I will be unable to edit after booking)? 2) Before my interview if i get another form i-20 (from my preferred school),i will have a new sevis id. How may i associate this also with my appointment already booked with a different sevis id? |
