seunmsg:
The truth is that the military cannot fully fight terrorism without pockets of human right violations. Terrorist dont care about human rights or rules of engagement when they attack, they deserve no good treatment.

Human right violation is not peculiar to Nigeria military alone. The US military severally violated the rights of Iraqis, Afghans etc in their war against terrorism. Trump himself is an advocate of waterboarding as a means of torturing terrorist suspect. The west should stop pontificating over what they are guilty of.

PoliticsRe: The Twisted Logic Of IPOB Sympathizers by Rihamz(m): 5:53am On Aug 29, 2017
zenmaster:
A nation like Nigeria needs secession, unless you are blind to the unending suffering which NO ONE plans to alleviate.

You are comparing apples and oranges.
1. Nigeria is not South Sudan
2. Nigeria is not Kenya
Nigeria will be worse than this two countries mentioned above, especially the biafran republic. Has it ever occured to you that the so called marginalisation and under development you people always refer to is imposed on you by your fellow brothers and sisters. All the money being pumped into your region finds its way into the pockets of your elites. What you should be demanding for is accountability from your leaders.
PoliticsRe: The Twisted Logic Of IPOB Sympathizers by Rihamz(m): 5:41am On Aug 29, 2017
attackgat:
Stop talking like a fool. You only have to go back into Nigerian history to know what is right and what is wrong. Zik was a well educated man who went to Ghana in the 1930's and established a Newspaper where he wrote about Nigeria having independence, a bit like Kanu was running Radio Biafra, talking about Biafran independence. Maybe Kanu used more crude language but the message was still the same with that of Zik, the independence of the indigenous people of the land from a higher power.

Zik eventually returned to Nigeria, just like Kanu did, and continued his crusade for independence for which he suffered persecution from the British authorities.

If we are to follow your logic, it means that Zik, Awo and other nationalist had no right to agitate for independence. The British created Nigeria, they wrote the constitution of the time that had no provision for independence.

Today, a lot of Nigerians appreciate Zik and others for for agitating and getting independence, yet, the same Nigerian finds it strange that Kanu is agitating for the independence of his own people.

What is the difference between what Zik did and what Kanu is doing? It is still all about the independence of a group of people from a higher power, is it not?

The only difference is that the British are a civilised people while Nigerians are not. Zik and others could never have defeated Britain in a war of independence at the time. But the British knew that to hold anyone against their will perpetually was wrong. When Zik and others showed that they had the support of the people, the British conceded independence.

If the British had wanted, they could have thrown Zik and others in jail, charged them with treason, executed them, gunned down their supporters and kept their control of Nigeria.

The moral of the story is that any group of people have a right to agitate for their independence and they have the inalinable right to be eventually granted their independence if it is truly what they want because whatever the constitution says, the constitution is never greater than the people. Wether they eventually suffer after independence is their business.

Nigeria is just not yet civilised.
Now the simple question is Does Nnamdi kanu enjoys 100% support of his region?

PoliticsRe: 2019: 7 PDP ‘heavyweights’ That May Slug It Out With Buhari by Rihamz(m): 10:07am On Aug 20, 2017
PassingShot:
Where are the heavyweights?

Makarfi cannot win his state against Buhari.

Atiku will struggle to win any other state outside Adamawa.

Kwankwaso has a formidable match in Ganduje to share Kano's votes.

Forget Dankwabo. He's too inexperienced to even mount a serious fight against PMB.

Fayose won't even win Ekiti state let alone the entire SW.

Bottom line: If PMB recovers completely and decides to run for a second term, none of these guys can win him in the NE and NW, and he will do very well in NC too. The votes he needs in the SW will easily come from Lagos, Oyo, Osun and Ogun plus Ondo where he worked to install the governor.

Also, the knowledge that a Yoruba man will most likely succeed PMB after 2023 will easily make him win in SW hands down.

SE and SS won't matter much as a handful of states will give more than the required 25% needed there.

Make Una forget online ranting and Nairaland "likes", PMB still holds the trump card.
so on point
PoliticsRe: Why Return Or Resign Assembly Was Formed – Presidency by Rihamz(m): 1:55pm On Aug 11, 2017
Bolustical:
Yes, I am of the opinion that the President should resign based on his failing health as there other capable hands to succeed him, that is where the real change comes from.

I would want him to rest based on principles and not emotions,

But is it not ironical that most of the same people calling for his resignation are the same people who kept mute when SULLIVAN CHIME their son, was out of the country treating a cancer related sickness for over 5 months abroad? Same thing for Danbaba Suntai! I am so sure if the current President were their kinsman or GEJ, they would tell him to continue since Yar'adua did the same,

Yes, for me, PMB should resign out of principle and morality but not because of hatred.
well spoken

Rhino.4dm:
Yes, I know all these . . That Namadi Sambo is from Edo State and Rabiu Kwankwaso's father is a Yoruba man, Obasonjo's father is from Onitsha, Atiku Abubakar is from Cameroon, Abacha is from Yobe State, Wamako is from Niger, Isa Yuguda is from Cameroon,Jonathan is an Igbo man from Abia and all that but what difference does it make?
Right on point. In the end they are all Nigerians.
