tintingz: One of the explanation by physicists and cosmologists is the quantum vacuum is "nothingness" and everything came from quantum vacuum.
Lol. What are you saying? So this is as a result of the accident you suggested earlier on? And besides, do you subscribe to this theory? Hopefully you won't delve into what you don't know.
So why can't I deny existence of a deity or gods? Where is the evidence any of them exist? And you haven't tell me how your proof of a deity link to your god, don't forget we have thousand of gods out there.
Off point.
We haven't finish studying everything about life, we are progressively getting there.
Then you need to keep studying instead of coming out discarding what you don't know.
So the question will now be why are we existing?
This is exactly my question which you have been evading so far.
tintingz: I'm not going about saying there is no supernatural, what I'm saying is there is no evidence for it, no one has been able demonstrate it successfully. I believe some things can't be explained doesn't make it supernatural, we simply don't know yet and I believe many of these so called juju are magic tricks.
Not only Christians, it is common among religious folks and when they fail they give apologetic excuse.
I am even planning to go for paranormal and supernatural research, broadcasting it in open/public, I just need time and capital.
But are there not paranormal and supernatural challenges conducted for years?
Here is a video of this man probably atheist, challenging india guru priest to proof his supernatural power.
Brother, if truly you want to see the truth and see proof, then get off the Internet and go to OTOKO in AbK as suggested by haffaze777. Asking for proof of supernatural is insincerity and at the same time nonsense. You know can't get one here and you are asking for it. You know where to get yet you won't go there. Smh..
tintingz: No, it is not off point, it is part of the God you quoted to threaten people.
I suppose we are trying to establish whether God exists or not, aren't we? Take note that if we are to delve into this now, we will be derailing the argument. So therefore let's not derail.
So if I admit there is an evidence of a deity, gods how will that link to your own god? Are you arguing for deism or Islam?
We take it one after the other. First, we have to establish that God exists before coming to which is which.
Where is the evidence first cause is eternal?
It's this: something must bring about something but then, that at first glance, there's two possibilities: either we eventually reach the first event, the cause at the beginning of the universe that set everything going, or there is no first event in the series and the past stretches back into infinity. Take note that the latter isn't possible.
How can it be accident? Can accident be caused by nothing? The question remains? why is there existence at all? and unless you have an answer to this question, you have no reason whatsoever to deny the existence of a supreme supernatural entity aka God.
If nothing existed besides the sorts of things we find in the world, there would be no explanation of why these things exist.
but as of now I don't really know,
You don't know and yet you are denying the existence of God?
the same question goes why are there faults and flaws in God's "perfect" creation?
tintingz: That quote(Quran verse) is coming from a personal god that has emotions, that threaten people with hell to prove he/she exist, to make people worship him alone, why does a god want people to worship him alone with threat and anger is something I'm yet to understand.
Off point.
If you want to argue about a god then you must be specific on which god, or do you now believe in a deist god or Hindu god?
Does it matter?
First we have establish that a supernatural entity is the brain behind existence of the universe, something you must admit before asking me which of the supernatural entity.
If that verse argues about the first cause then how then god came to be?
First cause is eternal. He has always been.
Your god claim he perfected everything yet we can see faults in nature.
Apparently Mr Baru was looting solely for Buhari. This current government is worse than that of GEJ. Atleast GEJ was looting openly, but this Buhari and his cabinet are looting and deceiving us into believing they are not, and that they are the best to ever happen to Nigeria. From Jubri to Sanusi.... And now to Kachikwu, those that are against corruption are getting persecuted whilst the corrupt ones are walking freely under Buhari's nose.
i have been threaten on facebook before in a post like that, i dont know if i should call it threat, so many religious folks cant engage in my argument that i received insults, and a bishop said i will see sign within 14 days, up till now after the 14 days am still waiting for the imaginary signs and we strike a deal that he will leave his faith if he fails, he hasn't respond after I message him.
I'm so sorry if the post appeared like a threat, but believe me it's not. My point is that, you should limit your 'there is no supernatural powers' to yourself and on the Internet and don't go about telling it to the face of those our Yoruba people. There's evil supernatural powers out there than the good ones and they are always eager to demonstrate it.
Like the Bishop promising you imaginary signs, that's common to Christians. Nevertheless don't go offline denying supernatural.
And BTW, if you are truly hell bent on knowing, just go to Osun state or even your Ijebu and ask for proof. You cannot get proof on the Internet, you'll only get it in real life. I wish you best of luck in your search.
tintingz: Did i concluded by saying there is nothing like supernatural?
That's absolutely your conclusion. Like every other nairaland atheist, you say you'll only believe in supernatural when you see physical proof, that's tantamount to denial. Atheist also ask for the proof of God's existence, does that mean they somehow believe God exists?
i am simply agnostic about it as there are no evidence for any supernatural so far.
In other words, you are an agnostic atheist.
Those stories are not metaphorical, they are believed to have happened in real life.
tintingz: No, i am not the one deluded in believing a magical ark carried the whole species in every corner of the world, or a sea splitting into two or the moon splitting into two or a prophet rode on a flying creature, if you believe in this then you believe Khalessi rode on dragons.
It's not a matter of believing all that you listed above hook, line and sinker. As a matter of fact, the stories can be metaphor and cannot be taken literally. You can deny all the above for all I care, but coming out boldly to say there's nothing like supernatural makes you look deluded.
And someone was talking about one stupid '7 moments that'll make me proud of being a Nigerian', I say there are thousands of reasons to regret being a Nigerian.
Empiree: no problem. I just wish one day they will show you red pepper like story narrated by sheikh Akindele that i told you before.
lwtmb
It's people like him that usually end up running to church for deliverance and to babalawo et al. At the end he'll speak like a sheep and be like "ha, nkan nbe!!!"
[Or do they deny the existence of God?] Have they themselves been created without anything [that might have caused their creation]? or were they, perchance, their own creators?
tintingz: Did you read my last post? If you don't believe in Santa Claus living in the north pole and pink unicorn living in rainbows why should I believe angels and jinns exist when there are no evidence?
Like I said, I don't see the Quran as divine revelation as it is full of legends and myth of the olds.
As of now, I don't know if they exist or not, until I see proof they exist I'm ready to believe, so you're free to call me kafir, agnostic or whichever suit you.
This your delusion is getting stronger than expected.
