Politics › Breaking: Queues Resurface In Kwara Filling Stations by Rilwayne001(op): 4:25pm On Jul 04, 2015 |
Fuel crisis has hit Kwara State again, especially Ilorin metropolis.
Our correspondent, who monitored the development in Ilorin on Saturday, observed that many petrol stations were closed on account of scarcity of the Premium Motor Spirit, popularly called petrol. There were long queues in few petrol stations that were dispensing. Most of the motorists and other buyers who were lucky to buy some litres of petrol complained bitterly of the scarcity and the increase in the price.
According to them, a litre of petrol is now sold for N100 or more in the few filling stations that have the product.
Our correspondent gathered that the fuel scarcity is worse in the hinterland. It was also learnt that petrol now sells for about N120 per litre or more in few stations that still have it.
The Chairman, Independent Petroleum Marketers Association, Olanrewaju Okanlawon, Ilorin depot, in a telephone interview with our correspondent, said marketers from the state have been unable to get more supply from Lagos or other depots. He stated that many of them do not have petrol in their stations as, according to him, only a truck per day is made available at the Oke-Oyi depot.
Okanlawon said, “There is no product in the system. There is no fuel in Lagos to get to Ilorin. Presently in all the private depots in Lagos that we are buying from are selling the product at N92 or N93 per litre.
“That is why many people stayed off from buying the product. Even the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation does not have the product.
“Ibadan does not have product and Ilorin has not been loading. They are just giving us one truck per day in Musomi depot. People are selling N100 and above because they bought at a higher price. Infact many of us are not even selling because we do not even have the product.” http://www.punchng.com/news/queues-resurface-in-kwara-filling-stations/ |

Cutehector: mumu.. Did dangote hav first class? Did bill gates hav first class? Did zuckerberg hav first class? First class ppo end up as professors... Nothing else.. Well, it depends on the reason why you are going to school. If your reason for going to school is to be as rich as dangote, bill gates and co, then you don't have to read and even aim at achieving first class, but you are obliged to have a similar talent they posses, don't forget the 3 of them are not featherhead, they are born with rare talent, which in turn has made them succesful in life. So, if you have a viable talent as well, build on it and you will be succesful even better than them. But if your reason for going to school is to add more wisdom and brilliance to yourself, then read hard and aim higher than Second class upper. Money is not everything, attain wisdom/brilliance and success (including money) will chase you around.
I'm not saying its a must that one should graduate with first class upper, its good to graduate with second class upper as well. My point is, "aim higher, never settle for less" |

The leadership crisis rocking the National Assem bly has been resolved , All Progressives Congress (APC) governors announced yesterday. Speaking after a marathon meeting between the governors and all parties in the National Assembly crisis, Imo State Governor and Chairman of APC Governors’ Forum Chief Rochas Okorocha, said the parties have agreed to work together.
Present at the meeting include, Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki, House of Representatives Speaker, Hon Yakubu Dogara, Sen Ahmed Lawan, Hon Femi Gbajabiamila, Hon Pally Iriase , scores of senators and Reps members and all APC governors.
It was the first time all the warring parties in volved in the National Assembly crisis would meet since the crisis broke out.
Addressing newsmen, elated Okorocha said, “We are aware that the nation has been waiting patiently for the outcome of this peace move. I am happy to announce to all of you that peace at the National Assembly is at sight. We have had discussion and we have all agreed to accept peace, so you will not see any more disagreements as in the past. Peace has returned to our party.
“Both the Senate President, the Speaker, Sanator Ahmed Lawan and Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila will work together for the unity of the National Assembly and the progress of our party. By next week, we will give you the details of this our peace arrangement but so far, so good”.
Pressed to give details of the agreement between the two camps in the two chambers , Okorocha declined insisting that the party will announce the terms of the agreement soon.
However, a Rep member who was at the meeting claimed that it was agreed that Gbajabiamila will be named the Majority Leader. He said: “Some concessions were made by the parties. What is certain as regards the House is that Gbajabiamila will be the Majority Leader”. http://sunnewsonline.com/new/saraki-lawan-dogara-gbajabiamila-resolve-differences/ |
