Going on memory lane for those that suffer from collective amnesia around, AKA Children of hate, frustrations and perdition..
The 12-storey structure projected to serve as the national secretariat of the former ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is tottering, being a borrowed vision that was not contemplated by the founding fathers of the party.
 
 After organising fundraising on two occasions and gathering billions of naira, the office could not complete that single project.

As such, five years after work on the site was stopped in 2014, the new helmsmen in PDP are crying for funds to see to the completion of the building. However, the cry for more funds has raised fresh concerns over the status and whereabouts of the N21billion raised during a special fundraising dinner organised by the party on December 2014.  
  
Incumbent PDP national chairman, Prince Uche Secondus, recently lamented that there was not enough money to complete the new national secretariat, which cost has was varied upwards from N11.5bilion to N16billion.
    
The then governor of Kaduna State, Alhaji Namadi Sambo, an architect, was commissioned to put up the project design. And in a bid to get the structure off the drawing board, PDP organised fundraising on November 14, 2008, targeting N10b out of which it raked in N6b. The dinner was chaired by Vice President Goodluck Jonathan and the highest donation came from Mr. Femi Otedola, while the richest man in Africa, Alhaji Aliko Dangote, announced a donation of N3b worth of cement.

UP TILL NOW, Nothing to show for it.

One of the founding father of the All Progressives Congress APC Senator Abdullahi Adamu has emerged as the national chairman of the party.

This is coming about a year and nine months after the Adams Oshiomhole led National Working Committee (NWC) was dissolved.

Adamu was returned unopposed on Saturday at the party’s national convention held at the Eagle Square in Abuja, FCT.

He is a serving member of the Senate representing Nasarawa West and former Governor of the state.

Governor Abubakar Badaru of Jigawa State, who is also Chairman of the Electoral Committee, announced Adamu as the winner of the contest after he was endorsed by party members and leaders at the convention via a voice vote.

He had gone into the election as the consensus candidate following the withdrawal of his co-contenders from the contest.

Adamu replaces Oshiomhole as the substantive APC National Chairman after the NWC chaired by the former was sacked in June 2020.

He, however, takes over from Governor Mai Mala Buni of Yobe State who was appointed to administer the affairs of the party pending when a convention would be conducted.

Barely a day to the convention, the coast got cleared Adamu after six aspirants from the north-central region eyeing the ruling party’s top job stepped down for him.

They include the Minister of Special Duties and Inter-Governmental Affairs, Senator George Akume; former governors Tanko Al-Makura and Abdul’Aziz Yari, as well as Senator Sani Musa, Saliu Mustapha, and Muhammed Etsu.

A letter dated March 25, 2022, and addressed to Governor Badaru, confirmed the withdrawal of the aspirants.

“May I kindly refer to the appeal by Mr President for the chairmanship aspirants of our great party to agree to a consensus arrangement wherein our colleague H.E. Sen. Abdullahi Adamu is made our consensus candidate for the chairmanship position and forward letters of withdrawal from the underlisted aspirants,” said the letter signed by Senator Akume.

It was a show of shame last nite.
Imagine Betta Edu that just left PDP yesterday, is now the national women leader. 90% of the new executives where all part of 16years PDP rule and people like Mannabbq, helinues, etc will be here shouting they will never go back to PDP. Lolzzzzzzz

Nigerians have never had it worst. The past 7years have been the worst years of this country. What is achievement when there is no food, no light, no shelter. During the time of PDP will still enjoyed all these basic amenities. Osinbajo may do better but he should not use consolidation to campaign

Now the goal is the presidential candidate and going by APC history, it will be a proper primaries. Let the best man with the vast support of the delegates win.

My brother, politics is NOT like that in most cases. Like how many times did Buhari contest against southern candidate before he wwlas rebranded and voted for in 2015.

Circumstances plays roles in most.

PDP missed it. GEJ wasn't supposed to seek relection or election at all. He was supposed to hand over to a northerner in 2011 but he used the power of incumbency. That was the reason there was killing all over the north. What make u think buhari used a CPC, a political party registered under a year to amassed over 12million votes? A figure he has never gotten in his previous 2 attempts under a larger ANPP then. The north were already angry that it was supposed to be their turn. Majority of them voted buhari CPC regardless of party because they wanted their brother there.
The hand writing was already on the wall but PDP paid a blind eyes to it and instead went for GEJ again in 2015. Now with a larger APC with 80% of South west on their side, it was an opportunity for them and they all work for buhari victory regardless of party. So if PDP picked Atiku with someone from South east or South South as VP same 2015 scenario will play out. Las las na we go loose. The way the eastern brothers and the westerner brothers fight all the time the north may likely capitalised on it.
