Download/install an app called Daemon Tools. A virtual/emulated ODD will appear on your My Computer screen. Daemon Tools will provide an option to "mount" the .iso file you created earlier to the virtual ODD.

You can't say there weren't significant improvements over previous consoles either. Features like online gaming, DLCs, and HD graphics which many gamers take for granted today are quite significant.

Actually, online gaming has been present since the Dreamcast(my all-time favorite console), it's more a case of high-speed internet becoming more affordable.
