Politics › Buhari’s Ministerial List Updated. by Ritchiee(op): 4:45pm On Apr 22, 2015
As a new government takes over, one which has the fist to arrest corruption and penalized all those who have looted public funds over the years, it becomes imminent for us to create or project a likely list for this administration.

Nigeria’s president-elect, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (rtd.), has disclosed that his cabinet would be announced very quickly within seven working days of inauguration; and that “Anyone with a whiff of corruption or any kind of taint will not be in the cabinet. Our manifesto will reflect zero tolerance for corruption”.

So, let’s keep on doing this together, let’s create a possible list of technocrats and or politicians who would make the cut for Gen. Muhammadu Buhari’s ministerial list. We can will come back after May 29th and say, “yes, I got it! I predicted right.”

#Buhari’s Cabinet, Ministerial List For Presidential Appointments Predicted as follows:

Now it gets more interesting as most of our fans are updating the list and timely commenting on this topic. More predictions and reactions from our wide readers have been updated. See below:

The first on the list is Olubunmi Arasco, who predicted as follow:

Olubunmi Arasco predicted Mr. Charles Soludo as the new Governor of Central Bank Nigeria. He described the former CBN governor as a wizard in financing.

City Evans Leyere-ue predicted Mrs. Caroline Barine Nagbo as the new Minister of Women Affairs. While

IDOWU disagreed with my prediction of Abike Dabiri and says, “Abike Dabiri does not worth to be given ministerial appointment.” So, I have removed him from my original list. Click here to see >>>the Original Ministerial list of Buhari’s cabinet who are set to take the mantle of leadership come June 7th or so…<<<<

Ademola’s reaction: “Please don’t use tribalism and religion to cause division in Nigeria again. If these are the people the general needed for the positive change we all clamour for, then, so be it. All we want is better and glorious Nigeria. Jonathan used ethnicity and religion to rule, one of the reasons he failed woefully despite sharing our money to bribe. thanks”

Mrs/Miss Augustine Uzoma makes her contribution, “I am recommending the former deputy governor of Abia state, Comrade Chris Akomas as the new minister of Environment. Which I am sure he can handle very well”

[quote author=JingoOAU post=32991857]If I were Amaechi, I would be the most grateful man on earth...WHY

Had it been that GEJ won the election, Amaechi by now would have become history as he wouldn't even wait before May 29 before running away from Nigeria as a result of political victimisation and vendetta which could come his way

But with dint of hardwork and luck, Amaechi now have rest of mind. Nobody is going to victimise nor do anything to witchhunt him. Infact, as from May 29, even if Amaechi is not given any appointment, he still has every political clout and police loyalty in Rivers state over Wike....tell me what's more than thishuh

He will be the one to dictate what comes in or goes out of Rivers and Infact, he will be the Alpha and Omega of Rivers state over Celestine Omehia, Peter Odili, PEG, Wike,etc....

So you lots should go and sit your ass somewhere and leave d man alone.

Politics › Senate Honours Chukwumerije. by Ritchiee(op): 6:52pm On Apr 20, 2015
The Senate will adjourn plenary on Tuesday in honour of late Senator Uche Chukwumerije in line with its tradition.

Chukwumerije, a three-term senator, was until his death on Sunday at a Turkish Hospital in Abuja at the age of 75, the Chairman, Senate Committee on Education in the current senate.

The red chamber, as of tradition, usually honours their dead colleague by postponing all items on the order paper at their first plenary after the demise of any of their members.

The Senate Leader would, immediately after the chamber had been set for the session, request for an adjournment to honour their late colleague.

His motion for adjournment would then be seconded by the opposition minority leader while the senate president will call for a voice vote from members after which he will make a pronouncement to adjourn plenary till the next legislative day.

Meanwhile, the senate lamented that it had lost a political giant with the death of Chukwumerije.

A statement by Senate Spokesman, Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe described the lawmaker as a political giant and one of the nation’s finest legislators.

The statement said the lawmaker who represented Abia North Senatorial District of Abia state in the current senate easily passes as a repository of legislative tradition and practice.

The statement reads, “The Senate will surely miss his erudite contributions on the floor of the chamber and his painstaking approach to committee work.

“Chukwumerije was indeed an embodiment of legislative tradition and consummate activists democrat who loved his people passionately.

“He will be remembered for his deep love for Ndigbo, which was manifested in his relentless struggle for the total political and social emancipation of the race over the years.

“The late Senator’s love for Nigeria and her corporate existence was unprecedented.”

Also, Senate Leader, Victor Ndoma-Egba, has described the death of Chukwumerije “as a sad loss for Nigeria.”

The senate leader in a statement issued in Abuja, described Chukwumerije as a political giant and one of the nation’s finest legislator

Ndoma – Egba said, “He was eclectic, cerebral and did not suffer fools gladly. He was one of a kind. He would forever be remembered for his deep love for Ndigbo, which was manifested in his relentless struggle for the total political and social emancipation of the race over time.”

The new company aims to secure complex engineering and construction (E&C) projects in the Nigerian, Central and West African markets, said Dangote Group executive director Devakumar Edwin.

The new venture will implement projects with the highest levels of efficiency in terms of costs and timing, while maintaining sufficient flexibility to adapt to various project requirements, he added.

Saipem, which is controlled by oil and gas major Eni, has collaborated with Africa’s Dangote Group earlier. The new partnership will boost Dangote’s presence in the engineering and construction segment, which Saipem has expertise in.

“We are confident that our partnership with Saipem will position us as a major player in the oil and gas sector. Dangote’s financial strength, expertise and standing in the sub-Saharan African market will complement Saipem’s unique capabilities in engineering and construction in developing new business. Saipem values the satisfaction of its clients in the energy industry, tackling each challenge with safe, reliable and innovative solutions. Dangote Industries and Saipem shall gain mutual benefit from this partnership,” said Edwin.

TV/Movies › Re: Yoruba Should Float MORYWOOD by Ritchiee: 7:54pm On Apr 16, 2015
[quote author=Ikengawo post=32751800]exactly. Right now someone is advocating for a yoruba language movie industry, instead of an english language movie industry stocked with yoruba people. and Igbo film maker, because of english can employ his entire kindred in a movie and receive his income from Nigeria, US, UK, Caribbean, the rest of african, black americans and even europeans. The language isn't an objective, it's a tool

he can have it full of igbo people, use an igbo cultural setting, even use little phrases in Igbo and from there his culture, language, wealth and influence expand exponentially. Yorubas can't do this because everything is a family affair and they believe more in operating for mouth than for real.

Perfect example
there's a ted talks from a yoruba man about making a car in Africa. The car he spoke of is beautiful, modern, high class and looks like it would be a winner. He comes from a wealthy background and has an international education

while he was on the internet talking, and Igbo man by the name of Innocent Chukwuemeka was importing disassembled parts and putting them together in the simplest way possible. While he was doing this yorubas were mocking igbos for being 'traders' and 'importer/exporter'. Gradual, to cut the cost of production he started using locally made parts, replacing them with expensive imported parts.

Today he's the first black manufacture in the world. His cars are all over Nigeria. Ghana is begging him to set up a plant there, and demand exceeds production. He's in the news all over the world for this feat and now auto manufactures are flooding into Nigeria.

The yoruba TedTalks guys still hasn't produced 1 bicycle tire, let alone car.
this is the difference.

So you can make a 'yoruba language movie industry'. It's a great idea, but even the one you have today has been destroyed by producers that would rather talk than do. Producers that can't pay actresses/actors, actors/actresses of low value, and a limited tribal audience that would rather watch the english 'Igbo-Made' films. Yet you will still open that mouth and say 'igbo made' as an insult.

Why would you say that?We have seen a Yoruba man who has produced a car, albeit it has not been properly modified but time will tell my man, time will tell.Yorubas dont beat chests but with time you will see wonders.Just keep your fingers crossed. We dont have to keep doing the same thing, the same way everytime.Look at the Yoruba guy that did SOLO PHONE because he went out of Nigeria and got funding although from a fellow Yoruba and his team helped him out,if this kind of assistance is being given to our innovators and inventors, then the sky could have been the limit.
Politics › Galaxy S6 Vs Iphone 6 Review: Samsung Uses Apple To Beat Apple. by Ritchiee(op): 6:40pm On Apr 16, 2015
Welcome to the biggest smartphone battle of 2015. Apple AAPL -0.22% will release an iPhone 6S in September, but the lion’s share of 2015 will be fought out between these two juggernauts and with it comes real symmetry. 2014 saw Apple size up to respond to the threat of Samsung’s larger Galaxies. Now 2015 sees Samsung redesign the Galaxy S6 to counter the threat of Apple’s resurgent iPhones.

The result is a smartphone head-to-head which has never been closer at a time when the stakes have never been higher. Let’s get straight to it.

Design And Build Quality: Class Leaders

There’s only one place to begin when looking at Samsung’s new contender: design. Quite simply, Samsung has thrown almost every traditional design aspect of previous Galaxies away with the Galaxy S6 in an effort to create the same premium feel as the iPhone 6. The end result is both good and bad as well as being incredibly divisive.

Galaxy S6 – 143.4 x 70.5 x 6.8 mm (5.64 x 2.77 x 0.27 in) and 138g (4.86 oz)
iPhone 6 – 138.1 x 67 x 6.9mm (5.44 x 2.64 x 0.27in) and 129g (4.55oz)

First the good. By ditching the plastic back for glass and plastic faux-metal sides of the Galaxy S5 for glass and aluminium, the Galaxy S6 does indeed feel far better built. Logic suggests it would be almost impossible for that not to happen and it now matches the iPhone 6 by feeling every bit as luxurious (regardless of whether you like either individual design).

It is important to state this isn’t just about the materials, it is the attention to detail Samsung has shown. Every edge, button and seam is meticulously crafted and for my money this also places it ahead of HTC ’s feted (if photographically flawed) One range where ports and buttons are found wanting. In this regard Samsung can pat itself on the back for a job well done.

The Galaxy S6 also feels good in hand and it isn’t as slippy as the ridiculously slick iPhone 6. Both phones could do with cutting down their huge top and bottom bezels and they wouldn’t suffer from being a little thicker to fit bigger batteries (more later), but if I were to pick a favourite it would be the Galaxy S6.

Then again Samsung’s major changes also come with major downsides. Compared to the Galaxy S5 the Galaxy S6 no longer has a removable battery, upgradeable storage and it isn’t even waterproof. In fairness these aren’t great losses compared to the iPhone 6 which also has none of the above, but it does open a window of opportunity for other Android phone makers to differentiate.

Are the trade-offs worth it? For those who rely on one or more of these lost features, obviously not – they are deal breakers. For most, however, I suspect they will be accepted and record shipments suggest this is the case.

Galaxy S6 (right) switches to a glass back, but aluminium like the iPhone 6 may have been wiser - image credit Gordon Kelly

So has the Galaxy S6 ultimately stepped up to the iPhone 6 without any real head-to-head issues? Not quite. Moving to a glass rear brings back memories of the iPhone 4 and 4S which were plagued by cracks. Countering this the Galaxy S6 uses Corning GLW +1.3% Gorilla Glass 4, a major step forward from what Apple was able to call upon three years ago. Still so much glass makes me instinctively uncomfortable and it is a fingerprint magnet.

Personally I think Samsung should’ve taken a different track here: fit a removable aluminium back which gives access to both the battery and a microSD slot. Surely that would’ve been a win, win? As it stands, it is a win some/lose some that stands up well to the iPhone 6 but less so to more feature rich Android handsets.

Displays: Great Meets Greater

Galaxy S6 – 5.1-inch QHD flat panel, 2560 x 1440 pixels, 577 pixels per inch (ppi), Super AMOLED display
iPhone 6 – 4.7-inch, 1334 x 750 pixels, 326 ppi, LED-backlit IPS LCD

Let’s stamp on an urban myth straight away: the iPhone 6 has a poor display. It is a common perception that because the phone only has a 326ppi screen it is somehow substandard. This is garbage. To put it in context a 4K 50-inch television has 88ppi and no-one complains about lack of pixel density when staring up close. The iPhone 6 is perfectly sharp and it has superb brightness, great levels of contrast and rich colours – all of which are all far more important.

Galaxy S6 has the better screen, but not because of the resolution - image credit: Gordon Kelly

Galaxy S6 has the better screen, but not because of the resolution – image credit: Gordon Kelly

Then again, make no mistake, the Galaxy S6 has the better display of the two. Yes the S6 has a much higher resolution and if you squint really hard you can see the benefit this brings, but it isn’t how you will use the phone in real life and it isn’t the reason why the S6 wins out.

The fact is the Galaxy S6 takes what the iPhone 6 display is good at: brightness, contrast and colours and cranks them up to a whole new level. Something I think would’ve looked equally stunning on a 1080p panel, a gripe I’ll get back to later.

So yes, the PPI wars need to end – they’re just as silly as the perception that more megapixels = better photos. But Samsung has nailed the elements that really matter and the result is the best smartphone display I’ve ever seen. The Galaxy S6 is the hands down winner.

I am a Native of lagos state, born and breed, all my generations as far as i can remember have only know Lagos as home. But i am IGBO !

Then something must be wrong with you because all IBOS came from the SOUTH EAST just like the HAUSAS came from the NORTH and all YORUBAS came or are blessed with the SOUTH WEST which THE ibos WANT TO DIE IN THE LAGOON FOR....But that would not happen in the name of THE ALMIGHTY....
