You pay an Indian 300m, house in VI, cook, Gardner, security men, Driver and a car and Genset also.

Now you pay a graduate working under him 300k and nothing else.
300k for one month is 3.6m in a year.
Expensis,
1. House rent 2m.
2. Transport to and from the company 2k daily by 5days a week by 52 weeks = 520k
3. Energy bills, compound cleaning, sanitation levy and cost of pumping water 40k monthly = 480k.
4. If you have worked with indians, you will know that you will also work from home, so u will buy like 2 litres daily ie 1200 by 365 days= 450k.

Total 2m+ 520k+ 480k + 450k = 3.450m
Not you have to dress corperately and it comes at a cost.
Where is your feeding money?
Where is your savings?
Where is money to support your family?
Where is the money to pay children school fees?
Are you ever think of going to buy car?
How can you support your family members?

This is the problem.
Most state governors pay civil servant 20k per month when they know that transport alone is like 2k daily.
One governor once said that the salary of a graduate can not buy a bag of rice.
When ever you see an Indian barking at other staff. just know that his condition is better.

It's necessary considering the fact that is some fraudster, even u, might go chatting with him privately. He may fall because he has no experience.
He might have come here with the intention to invest 2m and get 500k every yr without knowing that it revolves around 10%.

But if you are here to guide him, keep it public, do not go private.

Why are u using phone that was not made in Nigeria when in actual sense u should have waited for Nigeria to start producing phone by 2070? Why? Why? Why?
And how long are u going to wait for Nigeria to start manufacturing?
Nigeria borrowed south Korea sk money for them to pay salary, today they are far ahead of Nigeria and in the world, it's only apple that can compete with their Samsung phone. They do not have oil yet electricity is one of the cheapest thing in the country.
Until government intervene, we will be speaking English on nairaland

Okay, you now agree that the country is not normal? Interesting.

You don't want people to trade another country's currency but 90% of your politicians take their family abroad for education, healthcare, real estate investments, and holiday. Dey play.

Your principles are good for the books/libraries only. The people feeding you with lies and hope are the same people behind dollar scarcity. I don't know any regular human around me here that is hustling for dollars. The regular japa people learned the old ways of the politicians and most of them help Nigeria through remittances. Our major problems are the unproductive, lazy, agbada-wearing thieving crooks called "politicians."
My dear allow him to be using English anyhow.
4 yrs is not far. Tinubu met dollar at 450 and 720 respectively.
He failed to understand that he has no control over naira and dollar. Even in Nigeria, people bought naira at 30%extra. What have we not seen,?
When. This administration entered, they removed fuel subsidy and claimed that the consumption dropped from 66million litres to 13million litres daily. This means that Nigeria should have $55m everyday from the sale of remnants from subsidy but dollar continue to be scarce. We have not talked about money generated from the sale of other barrels per day.

One thing is sure. Dollar. Naira, patriotism and unpatriotism no be my mate, I respect them

Guys like you who advocate changing naira to dollars also have a considerable negative effect on the naira. If a conservative 5% of the Nigerian population changes only 50,000 naira each to dollars, that would amount to more than half a billion dollars at the current rate (5% * 200million * #50K / #800 = 625million USD). Most of this money will not earn anything back, and some of it will be lost (if you change it without keeping it properly, termites will have a field day grin ).

Every few days, you all come and broadcast "change your naira." Some people will go and change theirs. The next thing you hear is that the naira has gone further down, and the circle continues. Mind you, before you start protesting, hoarding is not the only reason why the naira is declining, but hoarding is real and its effects are also real.
This is not even upto the money that a politician in Nigeria will spend if he choose to buy private he jet.

It's very unpatriotic to convert to dollars when you are not using dollars. I remain patriotic.

the few pounds and dollars in my possession, i am trying to change them to naira i can use.
My dear both patriotic and unpatriotic are not my mate. I respect them very well. That is why I choose to live in reality.

Have u ever ask yourself why civil servant will not want to retire even after reaching 30 yrs of service and even the ones that retire will still be looking for work instead of acting like elder statesman?

The reason is in the chart attached.
Imagine that in 1985, u saved 10naira which equals $10. Going by TB rate of 9%, it will double every 9 years if u compound it.
From 1985 till now, it must have doubled 4 times ie 10naira x2x2x2x2= 160 naira.
From 1985 till now, your 10naira after compounding will be 160naira now.
Now u know what people that started saving in naira will have after working for 35yrs.

Imagine u used the 10naira then to buy to 10 dollars then At the current rate, you will have 10x950= 9500 this is without interest.
If u have invested in a dollar bond at 4%, you will have the money doubled in about 20yrs giving you 38000 naira now.

Away from dollar and naira. Let's go to popcorn or purchasing power.
In 1985, the popcorn we currently buy at 100naira was sold at 1kobo. So with 10naira in 1985, u can buy 1000 units of popcorn.

After about 38years, you now have 160 naira which can only buy you less than 2.

Also the 38000naira if you hard dollar can only buy you 380units which is not also good but fair.

So am against import based subsidy removal! The oil Marketers are to dangerous a group to have a field day with the Nigeria public ( his will slow fdi into the sector mid and long term ) bitter lesson learnt with deregulation of Deseal already pushing inflation . Wishful thinking. Sadly the Nigeria state doesn't have the wherewithal to afford the subsidies of PMS .we postponing our doom day .It seem we are living a lie we can't afford the cars on the road in Nigeria and in our homes ( 2 to 3 car per family) .curbing the corruption out of the subsides claims ( 60 to 100m litres daily ) digitalize the fuel stations to capture actual consumption .gradual removal
You are right but like in Anambra where motorist are taxed 26k per month regardless of whether you go to work on the month or not, I kept saying that if it were possibly done, why is the state government commercial vehicle not on the road?
Yes subsidy is a scam but I will tell u that so many things are scam in this country. Even to pay government level, you will pay the 'scam' fee before you will be attended to.
Yes there is cry from the government on fuel subsidy because may the masses are benefiting from it. The same story is also told on the money generated from the sale of crude oil and else where.
Government should have built functional electric train that will connect many states. Government should take control of transportation especially between states and also allow the use of electric vehicles that can be used for short distance like going to work and coming back home.
For TBs, expect dollar to hit 1k soon.

Secondly I have doubt about your statement that MMFs were doing less than 7% recently. I don't think there is any MMF that did less than 7% this year as you stated. If you are sure of this, kindly let us know the fund managers and I will post their price history for this year so far. At least I am aware that Stanbic,
Unfortunately I don't work with projected rate. I normally will want to check the daily rate.
The rate fluctuates but by the end of the yr, you will find out that everything is less than 8%.

Can you confirm that from 1st to 4th Stanbic paid less than 6%.

YES if you have 50M to bid yourself, else NO.

MMF is still doing above the minimum range of bids for even the 364 days tenor for the Treasury Bills.

Keep an eye on that range if you know you have the financial muscle to bid for yourself. Otherwise you will end up with a lower rate than the MMF as you can see from someone who got 9% in the recent auction. Although TB rates are discounted and not the true yield, I will prefer you still observe the space.

As long as you have below 50M, you are simply going with prevailing rates of your OGA AT THE TOP who is doing the bidding for you. So try and be your own oga with 50M to have total control
Gtb will always do it for me with less that 5% of the 50m.
MMF is not stable. Recently they were paying less than 7%.
Now that tb is high. It's better to lock it up there for the next 1yr

Cbn want to create black market for naira notes.
This will definitely spring up. People selling naira notes at higher values.
I remember when I made this comment that people started to criticize it as if it's a prophesy which you have to claim or disclaim.

Unfortunately it has come to pass and I never envisaged that it will reach to the point that people will have to pay up to 1500 naira to get 10,000 naira..

If I was a prophet, I would have recorded this as one of my prophecies that came to pass. Maybe I would have had new members.🏃🏃🏃🏃🏃🏃🏃🏃
