emmanuelewumi: Not based on portfolio value, but based on transaction value.
An investor with N10 billion portfolio size that wants to buy or sell additional shares worth N5 million can't negotiate for lower charges.
But an investor with a N2 billion portfolio size that wants to buy or sell additional shares worth N1 billion can negotiate for lower charges Everything is based on funds you are bringing in and negotiations , you don’t even need up to 1b , nine figure sums yes , have been on .25% from day one with Morgan |

ositadima1: The market has already crashed (in real value) as the Naira has lost more than 50% of its value.
You will be very disappointed, brother. You had better position yourself now in value stocks or US dollars, as the Naira is going to fall further before year end.
Your Elliott Wave analysis will disappoint you. I don't talk finish. Naira from around 800 to 1400 now , that’s a loss of 75% since may/june , I hope my maths is correct Returns need to be above 75% for investment in the nse to be ahead , I think most stocks have given that so far , but will it continue ? Beating devaluation and inflation in Nigeria is an unending battle with naira assets |

emmanuelewumi: Money Market Fund, cash and fixed income are also liquid, I guess his networth was tied to market value of his highly speculative stock positions
I shared the story of the guy whose N30 million portfolio turned to N2.5 million at a time when Naira to dollar was about N120.
If he diversified into cash, real estate, personal business and other cash producing assets he would not have been badly hit.
Someone said networth is a lousy metric and cash flow is far better. I guess that contributed to why Warren Buffett is the longest member of the Forbes list. Being there for decades.
Networth fuels the ego, cash flow fuels the yatch, jet and living expenses The Koko , you should have added that was doing very well initially , nah when the Tide comot him cloths , then the bank came for his unclothedness , I say a lot of times people don’t know banks or bankers till you owe them or default , you won’t see all those there fine fine marketers then |

No be for this same Nigeria, the CEO of a bank compelled all the workers at the head office for a deliverance like prayer session every morning. Few minutes after the early morning prayers, the same CEO would give instructions on how to assist politicians on how to launder money and other financial crime.
Upon all these the bank fell under CBN hammer, investors who invested in the bank share because the CEO was religious and was a regular face at all the monthly spiritual jamboree destinations along Lagos Ibadan express road lost hundreds of billions of Naira investments.

If UBA didn't get 100naira, zenith 120 naira , Aiico 20naira, I won't sell, my friends that invested in lands and properties are worth more that 1000% of their initial value as at now. In 2007 transport from portharcourt to lagos is #2,500, now it's 40,000 naira. Sadly however, he already deleted his handle when I was thinking he'll be back here by this January according to him.
Boss, if you're reading this why did you take such decision?
You've weathered different storms, received different stones and insults here, yet you remained your good selfless self and don't allow these to get to you. Exiting was the least anyone could have expected from you.
Pls sir, try and come back to continue with your God given role, which only HIM can reward you. 🙏 Am sure he is here reading comments anonymously, you omitted the part where it was all gloom and doom from him and advising people to exit the market in 2023 , even until may 2023 before jagaban was sworn in and yet we experienced remarkable growth in the nse and people cashed out in multiple folds in the last 7 months and still counting for those still in the market This life , you are the sole architect of your own choices and moves , no man is infallible , it’s said even a broken clock is right twice a day , always keep your eyes on the ball of your personal progress . God will raise other men if you believe along that line |

emmanuelewumi: You don't trade Eurobond, you invest in it. It is good for diversification,
The Investment returns between 6% to 10% per annum in dollars and also hedges currency devaluation risk. Meaning your $1000 valued at less than 500k in January 2023 is now between $1050 $1100 valued at between N1.3 million to N1.35 million
You can access 85% of the official exchange rate equivalent as a Naira loan at 20% per annum from UC Plus Advance Ltd a subsidiary of United Capital Correction . 1000$ in January 2023 was around 750k not 500k Expecting some sort of stability with the exchange rate in 2024 after all the shocks and chaos of 2023 , But am always battle prepared for all eventualities |

And with the abundant of seafood and fresh produce there , plus some great culinary skills you can always make your tasty dishes yourself. And if you feel stuck YouTube is always there to help you out.

Plantain is hard to find. There's no goat meat. How can you love Chilean food. You are definitely not Nigerian lol. I only eat for survival and not for taste like I used to in Nigeria. I am tired of everything here . I miss Nigerian food like crazy. If I enter Nigeria God knows I will eat myself to death. lol , not that bad , ask for pepper in the restaurant even if it’s Tabasco .they have got great Seafood , also steak , part of traveling for me is to experience different cultures , food is a great part of that , It’s china , it’s India , it’s south east Asia , love the food experiences . Leave all the fast food and try proper restaurants , more expensive though . Was in vina Del Mar , found Chile almost as expensive as usa or Europe , maybe where I stayed . All the best on your journey . Will definitely revisit when I do a South American tour in future

There's a lot of great countries aside the popular destinations and even if you don't like where you go, it's easier moving to your dream countries from there than from Nigeria. Now since the child is an orphan in Chile, they will have no option than to make the child a chilean. Its one of the major problems and they are voting regarding immigration on sunday. emmanuelewumi: It gets to a stage whereby what one wants is predictable income, without stress, no customers to attend to, no staff salaries to pay, no regulator compliance.
Many years ago, I used to have a landlord like that. He went to his shops twice in a week and he would be back home by 1pm and yet he was a rich man He had hustled and paid his dues in his younger working days All stocks are businesses run by people , the most profits come from lucrative businesses, that lucrative business could be business run by others and stocks traded or could be your personal business too , the latter will be more rewarding but comes with more stress like u said |

emmanuelewumi:

It was a property whose current owners were the second generation. They still have properties from their own parents and their own personal properties.
From the write up one of my cousin used his share to buy 4 plots of land, my sister bought an uncompleted property, another sister used hers to complete her property, another cousin used her share to renovate 2 houses in order to get more rental income in the future. Most of us reinvested the proceeds from the disposal of the property into another real estate investment
My youngest sibling and I are the only one who invested their shares in financial assets. She is the closest to me and my mentee. She invested in Eurobond Fund and Money Market Funds because of the stress, meagre and erractic return she got from her first and only property. Absolutely brilliant what you have achieved with your portion of the land sales and what your sis did with hers, diversification But the point sophy raised was that the real estate investment of your grandma was very profitable if you add the capital appreciation and all the income generated over decades before it was sold , instead of looking at the recent rental income alone bought a commercial real estate in 2019 for 85m , when I looked at the original receipt the man bought it 750 naira in 1976 , man was collecting 4.5m rent as of the time he sold , that is brilliant also . Wont mention the value of the land now or the rental income from that same property after we pulled down and built afresh . Just Grow to have a basket of different asset classes |

sophy17: I can imagine at what price your grandma got the land, then the income it generated over the years from generation to generation and upon the 'old house' being sold by the beneficiaries, you as one of them was still able to pocket over 10m free money (not loan) which you invested with over 200%. Now can you imagine the % of profit made so far on the land since it was bought by your grandma? Just asking for some here before they take some decision. Spot on , was expecting someone to say this since i started reading the discuss , nobody factored this except you The richest people also have some of the the largest real estate holdings , it’s not a coincidence Diversification is essential across different asset class , stocks , real estate , bonds , treasuries , fcy investments ,commodities , crypto etc whatever you are comfortable with and your risk appetite allows , even personal business If you make money wella in one asset class , look for another to put the gain This same stock market market has dealt with people so much that they never recovered |

Ever since understanding the stock market and also how cheap Nigerian stocks are, discussions about the profitability of other businesses hardly interest me.
