Just getting to know about pharmaceutical production.
With EPS of N1.30k in 2022, I don't understand why it was listed at almost N3.00.
Probably by 2023, we will start seeing the contribution of the production business in the financial performance of the company Mecure started with pharma production long ago , late 90s or early 2000s , others were after , diversification |

Wotowotoman: Eurobonds issued by Nigeria, Kenya, Ghana and all these struggling African countries are not risk free…where will they see the USD to repay when the time comes You are correct , have a friend that lost over 200k$ in ghana Eurobond , for now . The interest was too enticing for him , 9.something % I believe When you buy dollar funds they invest in all sort of dollar instruments , including Eurobonds of all sorts . It’s a basket, risk is less that way . It’s better to play it that way . |

Actually quoted the wrong post by emma , was to be the post on dollars getting to 2k etc , use to think he was anti dollar investment If anybody by now does not know to have dollar or fcy investments in his portfolio ,he is a novice and does not understand fully the workings of Nigeria but hey we learn everyday , let me also add for business owners that trade in goods , holding non perishable stocks could also be a good a hedge as holding fcy now As for politicians, the sooner you know they are not there for you and they are not the Calvary coming to rescue you , the better |

Everybody be expert now on top forex and importation matter . Even People that don’t produce locally and people that do no importation. Nothing will change short term . Not prices of the goods released from the ban to access official dollars . Simply because there is no official dollars . Did prices of goods that had acess to official dollars come down ? Trajectory is still upwards for all goods both locally produced and imported If you have anything to buy and you have money . Buy on time . Delay is dangerous |

ositadima1: That is part of the plan.
I did a little calculation, but before that I want to point out that the Nigerian market can be predicted to a large extent, although it requires a lot of patience and observation. Some notable stocks that would have been almost sure bankers for an astute investor are GTCO, DANGSUGAR, and some other banking stocks. By this time last year, the picture would have started to become clearer.
Now back to the calculation. ₦25 million, which was £25,000, was doubled, and now he can sell off and enter sukuk or long-term bonds at 14% minimum. After ten years, his ₦50 million (after the double) would amount to ₦113 million, while the same pound at 4.5% would be £34,000 at the end of 10 years. The naira would need to fall above ₦3,320 per pound for him to do worse in the next 10 years.
What of if he converts the funds back to pounds after he sells off and waits for other opportunities in the nse that will definitely present itself in the next 5 to 10 years , surely he should do better than 113 m while limiting his exposure to naira devaluation ? |

phadriz: Depending on the angle you are looking at it. I invested N25m in May 2023 which was £25,000. I bought over 8m units of Transcorp, I exited with value in excess of 40m which was around £33,000. I entered Oando @ 7.35, it rose to N16, I didn't sell because by my projection I expected Oando to do N20. Even @ current price my portfolio is around N50m (£40,600). Can you now tell me it unwise to invest in naira? I believe in price appreciation strategy and not dividend payout.
The best interest you can get in the UK fixed income investment is 4.5% per annum, if I had chosen that option my investment will worth £26,125 after a year. You have done well . Diversification is always key . Holding different asset classes . Even poor naira has its uses . Said it repeatedly here you can hedge devaluation and inflation by buying right when opportunities present itself , see the returns of some stocks since may 2023 . And I do agree with you price appreciation is the koko not dividend . All my returns have been well above the devaluation rates for the dollars I changed in may . Don’t forget to lock in profits and move to other asset class , make NSe no do you strong thing |

I remember some years ago when UBA sold for as low as N3.00, that should be in 2018 Bought 4 months ago . Don’t do dividend Bought uba 6 , access 6.5 , gt 17.5/18 , zenith 11.4/8 , dangote 111/20 , first bank 4.6/5 etc all in April / may 2020 Covid year . Had to run Morgan report to check prices .Sold all later that year . Those were phenomenal times |

narite: Put 3.5M in the best performing assets, it has beaten all form of investment vehicles in the Nigeria Sector and I do not see a slowing down anytime soon. As we are governed by moröns who are more in interested in talking about school certificate than anything else.
The best performing asset am talking about is the “Dollar”.
Put 1.5M in good stocks, spreading it across 2 to 3 solid companies listed on Nigerian stock Exchange, that are consistent with paying dividends. The dividends gotten from this companies should be use in buying more Dollar. Good luck!!! You don see the light on this dollar matter Remembered your earlier post . When you wake up is your morning . Diversification is always key |

emmanuelewumi: Really
I know Opay is huge, learnt it is owned by Chinese investors.
I only see disruption in the retail segment and they are playing a major role in the financial inclusion.
The 3% of the banks customers who control over 95% of the deposits will still stick to the big banks Don’t know the numbers , Moneypoint is also huge What people do , mostly people that control that 95% deposit ,they use mostly moniepoint and Opay for collection and transfers , then sweep into conventional banks on a daily or weekly basis later Most retailers and businesses use them now , the adoption has been spectacular. The transfers and payments are instant and very little downtime due to network failures compared to the traditional banks Pos |
