There is different between saying the fact and hating on something good. One thing i've noticed about Nigeria is that, nigerians lick assess of wacks more than talented people. It's rare for someone talented to blow in Naija. If you really have the talent, try and travel out and make it there, when nigeria see you make it outside, that's when they try associating with you. Or if you're talented and want to make it in Naija, try and reduce your talent to wack, nigeria will buy it that way. It's sounds funny but that's the truth. Nigerians prefer to lick asses of wacks. Guys, music is very relative. Inasmuch as I prefer Asa over Whizkid and Davido, u still cant discount the their talent. Davido and whizkid re also recognized internationally. blantyre: I don't run any research institute, I am a hausa Muslim and I considered myself detribalized as well. The truth of the matter is that the present style of grazing by the fulani where cows are allowed to roam about will definitely put them at loggerheads with not just southern Christians but Muslim hausa farmers as well and instances of such clashes have well been documented. On the present clashes in southern Kaduna I observed that locals are quick to kill not only fulanis but hausas as well in the event of any misunderstanding or trampling on farmlands which could ordinarily be settled amicably. Mere mentioned of a hausa or fulani Muslim in any issue is enough to shed his blood without minding what caused the problem in the first place. And it is not just fulani that are being targeted on federal roads and killed but hausas as well or any person wearing the look of a Muslim. I lost a distant relative to such crises who was traveling to his place of construction work along with two other friends in the same southern Kaduna. Only one of them managed and escaped to tell the story and as it is now, no muslim will dare travel through the area because even though it is purely with nomads, the locals don't waste time to turn it to a kind of religious crises where anyone that looks muslim got killed. So in other to minimize such clashes, fulanis must adopt a ranch method and locals must learn to seek justice through law enforcement agencies and their traditional institutions to get adequate compensations for damages done by cattles Shikena! |

Nasman: Well, it up to the Youths of Southern Kaduna. If they can't stop killing our Fulani folks for no reason. This cycle of violence will never end. I'm a 100% blooded Fulani man. I know how we treat vengeance. The root cause of this crisis is nothing short of vengeance. The host Community comitted wicked act on the Fulani and their properties. This wickedness go unreported by media. Now that the Fulani are out there to take their vengeance, all of a sudden hell break loose. Even myself I'm a afraid of hurting my Fulani folks. Cos I know what revenge is to them. Plus, Fulani herdsmen are very good at minding their business. But if you provoke them, you have yourself to blame. Let's all hope this cycle of violence will end. Even in Central and Northern Kaduna, Hausa farmers face the same problem with the Fulani herdsmen, but because understanding and mutual respect it rarely lead to bloodshed. Hi Nasman. I don't know anything about the Fulani culture but it seems you guys have a big problem with a very simple solution. The problem is that pastoral cattle rearing is no longer working n feasible like in the days of old and the simplest solution is ranching but ur brothers still continue to graze on peoples farmland. Logically, the north has the biggest land mass to support ranching but you guys still engage in pastoral farming and when either by mistake or intentionally you encroach on peoples farmland, there will be a violent confrontation of accusations and counter accusations. The US have cows in ranches, the Argentines have cows in ranches and as far as I m concerned, their cornedbeef is the best. Why can't your Fulani brothers be innovative, rear your cattle's in ranches and export it to the south where demand is? Nasman, kindly add your insight on my logic and let every one here on nairaland know the merits and demerits of my idea because the bloodshed is getting too much over cattle and farmland. |

persius555: You are the one who has tried too hard to reduce this topic to the socio economic status of both nations. The Russians have too many things uncommon with the American society. It cannot withstand the American economy, but the truth is that there is nothing the American govt can do about Russia's influence in europe and middle east at large. It is the largest supplier of gas to europe. It shares more similarities with Europe than america does. I know for one that Russia, despite all of its adventurism has not caused massive immigration in europe as seen today. In fact, it is helping to mitigate this disaster while Uncle Sam who is responsible for the mess, sits comfy thousands of miles away.
For heaven sake, who is the villain here? Based on ur point, Yankee n Russia are both the villain ooo. Russia caused the mujahideen movement when they invaded afganistan then In the global stage, I think Yankee caused the proliferation of jihadi terrorism by first training Osama bin ladin in CIA against the Russians when they were arming the mujahidden in Afghanistan, then when yankee invaded Iraq without just cause there by creating a breeding ground for Alqaeeda and ISIS, then they Caused Libya n Gadaffis demise, and now RUSSIA is cleaning the mess of ISIS in Syria though I know that RUSSIA s intention is to annexe Syria there by increasing its influence in the Middle East against Yankees interest. I think till the world comes to an end, RUSSIA n Yankee no fit agree on anything and it is small nations in the world like Syria, Iraq and those former Soviet nations in in eastern Europe that are NATO member s that will suffer for it because na RUSSIA dey give dem natural gas. Also don't forget that they are both members of the UN Security Council and they both have Veto powers.RUSSIA n Yankee both have power in their own right that's why they are "an unstoppable force meeting an immovable object" |

This is the only point I will agree with Persius555. The enemity BTW Russia n Yankee strtd after the end of ww2 when they divided Germany into east n west germany. Yankee wanted to spread capitalism while the soviets wanted communism and it was this difference in governance that caused successive wars in the world especially in Asia. From WW2 to Korean War, to IndoChina War to Vietnam War then the Cuban Missile crisis. U ll see that in those wars, the countries were dividind, some of them wanted communism (east germany, north korea, north vietnam, mainland china n cuba ) while the others wanted democracy/capitalism (west Germany, south Korea, south Vietnam n Taiwan). If u look at these wars I mentioned, u ll see that both Yankee and the Soviets sponsored government s in those wars. |

claremont: He is, indeed. So, he should turn a blind eye to the systemic discrimination that specifically affects black americans and ethnic minority groups?!
If a black american president cannot address the discrimination people from his own race face on a daily basis, then, I would key into the feeling from black and ethnic minority groups that he hasn't done anything for them. I understand the point you are trying to make and it is valid but I feel the problems facing the blacks is foundational. FYI, 1. they were slaves when Yankee gained independence 2. They are a minority group of people less than 15% 3. Powers that be in Yankee can't let Obama do so much to better the lives of Blacks. It is just like when GEJ was president, most of the oil blocks belonged to northerners including the one in my village in ilaje land. Also the south south are a minority group with small population and no power in a military controlled by mostly northern officers. If you try and relate the 2 scenario s , I m sure u ll deduce that there is hardly a country where the minority group has more power than the majority except in the bible when the Israelites were slaves in Egypt and na even BabaGod help dem sef. |

persius555: Obama's administration in conjuction with its NATO allies underestimated this putin guy. Right from the days of KREMLIN and chechyen, he has shown exceptional qualities in winning these tiny wars and battles to the admiration of the russian citizens. This is the leadership quality that the soviets has lacked for years. He has been able to avoid confrontations with his fellow counterparts in other parts of the world (turkey comes to mind).
Obama was able to cow his allies and fellow countrymen with his orator skills. Putin on the other hand, despite his poor mishandling of the russian economy ( partly caused by the obama administration) is that leader who is hardly swayed by rhetoric. He knows when to strike (surgically) with maximum efficiency. Kremlin occupation, Intervention in the syria crisis, successfully striking a deal with the OPEC countries and alleged role the russian govt played in influencing the voting pattern in the American election. All these could be attributed to the skills and intelligence gathered from his early days as a former KGB Agent.
Putin might not be a good economist, in fact he sucks in this area but when it comes to international diplomacy and relationship, obama could learn a lot from him. Watch the way he rallies russia former enemies, makes friend with everyone with ease. His qualities are just exceptional. By the way, some of trump's elected cabinet members are very good friends to putin.
Obama's rush to expel the russian diplomats just shows how feeble and petty his administration has been. He has only suceeded in putting the incoming trump administration in a quagmire. Moscow has repeatedly denied involvement in the hack, the same way china denied the SONY hack. I m asking because I m not sure but was it China that Hacked Sony or North Korea? |
