Philadelphia:Brother, if it's your first car, I'll seriously advice you stick with a Toyota. Don't go with the Merc, even though it isn't a bad car. But over time, you might come not to like it. As your first car, you want one that'll be forgiving if you make small mistakes, treat it roughly or abuse it quite badly. The Merc - in fact all German cars generally don't like or want that kind of abuse. When you have learnt and mastered all the nuances of car ownership, you can then go German. Back to your original question, the Camry is a step up over the Corolla and not in the same league. It's like saying just because they are students in the same school, a JSS 3 boy is the same as an SSS 3 boy. We all know they aren't! Anyone you choose will serve you fine; you're getting the fabled Toyota reliability. Good luck bruv! |
No be today China start to dey copy western auto manufacturers. Sadly, sha, Rolls Royce will lose the case. It's a no-brainer. BMW tried it and lost, Honda tried it and lost. RR will be no different. China protect and promote their own. |
GAZZUZZ:Hmmm...haven't done that. Will try that and see what happens. |
kingreign:I'm a Lagos ninja! ![]() |
kingreign:You cracked me up there bro! Make I no lie...I sometimes drive like The Stig... ![]() The answer to all your questions na yes...except for 5. I no dey carry load at all. When I know what it'll do to my performance. Anyway, I kinda knew all this but was looking to see if I could improve it more. Whenever I watch dem Jezza, and dem talk say car dey do 30+ mpg...I just dey vex for my car sometimes... |
donmayorgroup:From N1m (Naija used) to...perhaps N25m brand new. You should start from which model year you're interested in; that'll narrow it down a bit. |
Hello people! I have. 2003 Toyota Camry SE V6 which is quite a 'rocking' car. However, my one issue is that though the manufacturer claims 21/28 mig for city/highway, I have realised I average about 15-17mpg in the city. I don't travel much but the 4mpg difference is much o; especially in this times of fuel uncertainty. I use my specified 5W-30 engine oil, clean out my air filter regularly, carry out an oil change every 3k miles (in fact I'm doing another change this weekend) and generally treat it right. Still I haven't reached that manufacturer stated mileage. Is that mileage a farce like the VW scandal of ar or is there something else I can do the further improve my mileage. Please don't tell me to put camphor in the fuel tank o! |
I doubt your ability to get a tokunbo jeep at that price o! But if you will it will be like was said a 98 (or even earlier) Pathfinder...or perhaps the 94 4Runner... http://www.thetruthaboutcars.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/12/1996_nissan_pathfinder_4dr-suv_se_rq_oem_1_500.jpg https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/4runner#/media/File%3A92-95_Toyota_4Runner.jpg |
IyaIode:When last did you go to Yaba? Aunty, dat market don lost Tey tey!!! |
20million:It could also be that you have a clogged cabin air filter. Get that checked and cleaned and you would be surprised of how much of a difference it could make. |
Hmmm.... Is he too now sick? Issorai...issokay...kontinu |
@OP A Hyundai Tucson is comparative to the Toyota RAV4 (both have 4-cyl engines with circa 2.0-2.4l displacement) while the Toyota Highlander is comparable to the Hyundai Santa Fe ( with V6 engines at circa 3.5l displacement and are more powerful). You can however get the Tucson/RAV4 with a less powerful 2.7/3.0l V6 engine sha... It's all about your choice. If price is not an issue, the Highlander is your best bet. It has the lowest true-cost-to-own of all the cars, will give you a fantastic performance even when your odometer is above 200k miles and you'll still get a good deal should you choose to resell after 5 or more years. Parts are easy to come by and if you have a head for science and tinkering, there are a few things you can do in your own sef...my 2003 Camry I dey tinker am steady myself. The only downside is that the interior of Toyota vehicles are known to be relatively bland...because they spent all this time focusing on reliability and performance. The only reason people buy Hyundai cars is because they are cheaper than the equivalent Toyota or German counterpart. However, the cheapness comes at a cost; parts are scarce relative to the Toyota and would cost you more over time to maintain than the equivalent Toyota. You don't want to have emergency car trouble and spend ages looking for a Hyundai mechanic when Toyota mechanics are a-dime-a-dozen. Someone advised you about the Honda Pilot (also sold as the premium Acura MDX - they're basically the same car; na d badge be d difference). Please don't choose it over the Toyota; except you are a genuine Honda fan; you could be frustrated a la ball joint issues, gearbox wahala, e.t.c. It's a well known syndrome of cars from that stable. Ultimately, buy what you're comfortable in and what your heart wants; na you go use the car. Whatever you buy, if you don't like it, you can always sell it off and buy something else. All the best. |
ERONX:You are not well o! ![]() D kain laff wey don hold me for here... |

bashydemy:I give up! You've chosen to be narrow-minded and rather unreasonable...sadly. I can't change that for you. Only you can. |
Lstar4real:Thanks Boss for the response. I believe it's the second link with the LTE option... http://m.aliexpress.com/item/32511141061.html |
bashydemy:I said '...as low as N500.' didn't you see N500 in the prices you quoted? Abi you don't know the grammatical meaning of 'as low as' again? You obviously don't go watch movies in the cinema ; you're content with Chinedu's pirated copies in Lagos traffic. SMH |
bashydemy:Have you gone there before? It's as low as N500 o! Five hundred Naira only! Tell me you no dey give Nkechi and Ogonma pass dat one? |
kel4soft:That's business class on ARIK AIR! Not first class. Many of us seem to forget that he's a businessman and owner of Silverbird group. If he has to travel for business do you think his company will buy him an economy class ticket on a business trip? Besides, the average business class ticket costs three times more than your economy class ticket; so in reality, he's contributing more to the economy by flying commercial rather than owning a private jet! |
LStar4real, How business? I'm looking to get the Huawei Mediapad M2 with 3GB RAM and 16/64GB ROM, LTE version. I can't seem to get a working link; can you pls post one and tell me the cost of getting that down to me through you from yonder? Thanks. |
uncjay:Actually, it's 21 goals...count it well |
