It is not wrong for someone to have huge deposits in his bank accounts as long as it is well justified with documents evidence. I mean anything can happen, sale of house, car, land etc. What would have happened is that in the application where it is mentioned "Other Sources of Income, investments" etc, you could have ticked and mention the total amount you received. When it comes to filling the part about employment status, monthly income, other earnings, you should fill it together with what appears on your bank statements to be on the safe side In fact, your figures in the application should match with bank statements. I believe you have good reasons and explanations to address the concerns on the refusal once you re-apply.

Yes I did click other sources of income, investment and also submitted all receipts an investment cert and all was stated in my cover letter… will definitely try again in January. Not in a hurry

Before I sold the land in feb I had bout 2.3 after selling the land I had about 22m which I bought a car for my wife and and did an investment for 6.5 which all receipts and certificate of investment where included in my application.

Finally I applied with a balance of 2.420 in June

all these I sold my land, I sold my car, I sold my farm has casted… just saying…. Anything that resembles money lodgment or the sort will be flagged
Explaining in your cover letter can not take away from the Eco’s discretion to judge your application on the balance of you been a genuine tourist or not.
Also self employed having it tougher now as a lot of people create these
‘pseudorich/pseudowealthy’ profile to obtain visas.
Feel free to reapply when the above reasons can be sorted.

Got a refusal letter this morning, to me the is no reasonable reason for the refusal as all large deposit was stated in My cover letter with receipt of my land I sold mid February

I got my passport today, 6months visiting visa approved, first time applicant, virgin passport. My timeline was as follows;
Biometrics at Ikeja - 6th June 2022
Application transferred and received by DMC - 7th June 2022.
My cousin that sent the invitation letter was called on 22 July 2022
Application transferred and received by VAC - 29 July
Passport picked up by DHL - 29 July 2022
Passport delivered - 1 August 2022.

Cousin’s British passport
Cousins wedding certificate (husband is also British)
Cousins 1 month payslip
Cousins employment letter (Doctor)
Cousins 1 month utility bill to show proof of residence

I did my biometrics on the 2nd of June at V.I

Sent a paid email last week Wednesday and was told my application is being considered and is awaiting a decision and would only be escalated after 8weeks


Sent another message yesterday( at exactly 8 weeks) and my application was escalated. I was told that I shouldn’t send another message until after 15 working days.


Has anyone been in this kind of similar situation?
Does a decision gets made within the 15 days?

I have an exam on the 23rd of August and I am very worried.

I received the same message this morning that it can only be escalated in the 8th week which the 8 week is on the 4th of august, I really don’t know what to do as I have an interview in Abuja on the 12 of august, can anyone advice as I need my kpali

Mine was June 8th and today makes it 6 weeks…. Sent paid mail on Sunday and they replied with awaiting decision. Since decision has been made in your own case then expect collection mail anytime soon.
