SIONKPO1:
You are ignorant of so many things
*Most scholarship schemes are manipulated, and the beneficiaries never return back home to serve
*You cannot fix ibeno beach without fixing then roads, security, electricity, and hotels
*How many graduates gets employed, you now want the government to give students on scholarship automatic job,it will be politicized and abused
*You said primary and secondary schools built by Akpabio are majorly bad,and you can't back it up
mind you some few may be bad , but we(you)(us) are supposed to bring it to limelight
I reiterate again udom is not perfect and he can do more
Leadership is not as easy as ABC
Am not a partisan niggy oohhh
GOD BLESS AKWA IBOM
*Who manipulates the scholarships, is they not the same governors and their cronies? the people below them just follow their footsteps. if they want it to work, it will work
*Ibeno beach -please let them fix the road, electricity and security (abi na private sector go do this one too?) if thats all you think govt can do (in my opinion that's not all), leave hotel private sector will fill it in naturally
* Scholarships - Go and research it, responsible leaders who want the BEST for their countries will do whatever it takes to achieve and get value for money spent on scholarships, China is a very recent example, all most all of them that attended school in the UK mostly returned to China to add value. Today we know where China is.

* For derelict and ill equipped pictures of primary/secondary schools in Akwa Ibom , I will not show them here, forget it, me too i get shame. You pass them everyday in Akwa Ibom

I never said governance is easy, leaders who changed their countries never had it easy but when there is sincerity and transparency, majority of the people they govern will see it and provide all the support they can, it has nothing to do with political party, Nigerians have been deceived for a long time by those structures.

Udom should please re-strategize and get lieutenants who can help him properly interpret his vision. Truth be told, some of those people don't know why they are there ooo, they think its all about wining elections and answering yes sir while they line their pockets. I don't want to talk about about those Uyo dwelling local govt chairmen.

*Why will Udom build primary and secondary schools when the ones built by Akpabio are still in good shape
*How has Nigeria benefitted from the numerous scholarships it gives to its citizens yearly(nothing cause most of the beneficiaries never return back to Nigeria
*Human Empowerment,I think he should do more to what he is doing
*Tourism, can come later cause Nigeria generally now is not save and moreover ibom is not a rich tourist state
****How many lives have you impacted .
think of what you can do for your state, and not what your state can do for you
Primary schools built by Akpabio are still in good shape--- Another lie from the pit of hell, are you talking about the empty classroom buildings or well well equipped school?, please stop deceiving yourself

How has Nigeria benefited from scholarships -- A very sad one from you, Let me enlighten you, Citizens never come back because first of all those scholarships were designed for their family members and cronies to go enjoy abroad and never come back. Secondly what responsible leaders do is that if there is really a need for a foreign scholarship(mark my words, a need for foreign scholarships), as part of the terms of the scholarship, the govt signs MOUs with the foreign universities involved so that when those beneficiaries finish their original certificates are sent back to their sponsors who will decide on how to benefit from the knowledge gained, e.g. send them to teach in local universities, work in the ministries, for a period maybe 7 years,5 years, etc before their original certificates are given to them for them to work anywhere they like having given back to the system that they benefited from. Within a period of 20 years you don't need to send anybody abroad for anything because you must have built enough local capacity But since we have irresponsible leaders its an avenue for settlement.

Tourism can come later, Ibom is not a tourism rich state ---- I honestly wept for this statement of yours, It is either you are totally an ignorant fellow or you are outright mischievous. First of all, as we speak all our Historical tourist sites are being overtaken by forests and are collapsing, at the verge of being lost FOREVER, and you make such sacrilegious statement!!!!!!! The ones that are natural like the Ibeno beach is TOTALLY neglected. This is the reason I said Udom's commissioner's are a bunch of lazy heads who cannot identify the goldmines that are right under their feet!!!!!! Tell me the state you consider as being very tourism rich, Obudu, Kwa falls has been bubbling it was managed by responsible leaders (the british), guess what, when they left it crumbled, it was only Donald Duke (a responsible leader) that turned it back into a goldmine, but since he left irresponsible leaders who cannot see beyond their noses took over the place has now become derelict. I wept when I visited Kwa falls last year.

Irresponsible leaders everywhere, is it your president who has been in the saddle for 5 years yet could not provide himself a hospital where he can get medical help but was rather comfortable spending public funds jetting out at the slightest headache? He too will tell you govt is easy, right?

Now what have i done for my country, you can't imagine it but you know what, your irresponsible leaders have made a mess of it just the same way they have done to the efforts for millions of Nigerians, They are the ones destroying the lives of Nigerian citizens, left , right and center with inept governance.

When responsible leaders emerge we all know them, Dora Akunyili was one, Donald Duke another, to some extent, Babtunde Fashola, Obong Victor Attah, Peter Obi to mention a few.

Boy remove the hate from your heart
Udom is not perfect but he is trying
Stop asking me silly questions when you have not answered any of mine. I pay my tax and provide employment for people but do you know what irresponsible leaders like the one you praise day and night do? they loot it sometimes outright waste it on white elephant projects.
"Governance is not easy", Is that what they told you, well true because its not for people like THEM! Because governance becomes easy when its time to loot the treasury, waste public funds on frivolities, buying private jets , sending kids abroad, etc. but suddenly become very difficult to provide well equipped hospitals and schools, pipe borne water, etc. Yes the present governor, Udom is not perfect but he is inadequate, those assisting him too are inadequate. They use our public funds to visit other countries YET they cannot replicate the quality they see there here. its a shame.

As for hate, I will continue to hate irresponsible leaders (wherever I find them) because of the millions of lives they have been destroying since time immemorial.

You mentioned human empowerment, please tell me how many scholarships has be awarded by govt., how many secondary and primary schools has he properly built, rehabilitated and equipped? with all the billions as revenue. Everything he does he must attach WORLD CLASS, INTERNATIONAL STANDARD, FIRST OF ITS KIND IN WEST AFRICA, AFRICA AND THE WORLD yet we all know the truth that most of those things are substandard even by Nigerian standards. There is no reason why akwa ibom is where it is now with all its endowments if not for inept leaders like Udom and sychophants like you who jump from one politician to another. NewAkwaIbom:
• Says It is not in the interest of the Region

An immediate past Member of the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Rt Hon. Otobong Ndem has cautioned against unwarranted media assaults targeted at smearing the Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Senator Godswill Akpabio.

Speaking with newsmen in Uyo, Hon. Ndem lauded the Honourable Minister for his vision in rebuilding a decayed Niger Delta region in a sustainable and proactive manner.

Speaking further, Hon. Ndem insisted that it will be in the best interest of the Indigenes of Niger Delta to key into the opportunity of having an uncommon leader like Sen. Akpabio as the Minister of Niger Delta Affairs. "Instead of this proxy media attacks, a leader like Senator Akpabio who successfully transformed Akwa Ibom from a pedestrian state to a centre of destination should be supported by our leaders to effectively transform the Niger Delta which is already on course".

Harping on unity, Hon. Ndem called on leaders from the region to speak with one voice. "Our leaders should borrow a leaf from leaders of other zones to promote stability rather than stocking tension for pecuniary gains. The leaders of the region should resolve their issues internally".

Commenting on the ongoing forensic audit of the NDDC ordered by President Muhummadu Buhari which he described as the right way of getting things done in the interest of the Niger Delta, he admonished those fighting Senator Akpabio to be guided by the overriding interest of the Niger Deltans.

"It is true that many people will not agree with the new order of doing things as championed by the Honourable Minister but I'm happy that President Buhari understands that the ongoing media war is politically sponsored by leaders who are supposed to work as a family in the interest of the zone. President Buhari is determined to overhaul the system and those fighting back must be properly guided. The new approach will not favour the interest of a select few but the larger interest of Niger Delta people", he added.

While declaring his unalloyed loyalty and solidarity, Hon. Ndem urged the people of the region to rise up and support Senator Akpabio in creating a new path for the development of the Niger Delta.
Coming from a direct beneficiary of the former governor. Please say something else.

whyteteeth:
Akwa Ibom is not named after the Qua iboe river. I don't know why I keep hearing this from some persons. Akwa Ibom means Great Ibom. Ibom is the ancestral home of the ibibios. It can also be interpreted in full as Akwa Abasi Ibom state" meaning "The state of the Great God of the Ibibios or the state of the almighty God". In other words "God's own state".

"Qua Iboe" is the English corruption of the word "Akwa obio" which mean a large town. Akwa Obio is a coastal community in Akwa Ibom state. Qua Iboe or kwa Iboe was used by the British colonialists and early missionaries to describe the area during the precolonial era maybe because of the difficulty they end encountered in pronouncing the word "Akwa Obio"

The Qua Iboe river which is a tributary of the Atlantic and a distributary of the Cross river is named after the coinage "Qua Iboe". Qua Iboe Church which is popular in Akwa Ibom state was named after the same community by the missionaries.
ON POINT. VERY VERY VERY VERY CORRECT. Ignorant people should stop misinforming people.

What's population of AKWAIBOM state?

Why are AKWAIBOM people always running away from their state only to do this sort of jobs in another state- houseboy/househelp/security man/ashawo , etc. and all other odd jobs.

Ofcourse, AKWAIBOM should be clean because there's virtually no one in the state to constitute dirt. Do you expect Lagos to be clean?

Shut up your dirty mouth there if you have nothing to say. The population of Akwa Ibom is quite large and there can be found in most parts of Nigeria like any other tribes involved in high , medium and low levels in many sectors of the economy like banking, construction, oil and gas (thats why you find them in PH for example),etc. They must not all live in Akwa Ibom. Dont you see other tribes in PH? By the way, talking about househelps ashawo as you mentioned , i see them too and guess what they are from all tribes in Nigeria, hausa, yoruba, igbo, ijaw, name it. PoliticsRe: 25 Largest Cities/urban Areas In Nigeria By Landmass by rollingrocks:
Nowenuse:
Lol. Of course! Thank you. People in Karu don't say they are going to Abuja either, they can only say they are going inside town.

Besides, I have even seen cases where people in the satellite towns say they are going to the main towns. Like in Jos, people in Bukuru may say they are going 'inside Jos' or in Warri, people in Uvwie & Udu may say they are going to Warri (although the case of Warri is strongly influenced by Tribalism).

In Yola, people in Jimeta say they are going to Yola because Yola is the old town while Jimeta is the new town....

All these things sometimes are just names & nomenclatures that come about by political, traditional and sometimes tribal divisions. .... However, as long as towns & cities are joined together socially and economically, they are considered one single Urban/Metro area.

Ask people like Agboriotejoye that are arguing, what if the FG decides to take the whole of Karu & Suleja into FCT's jurisdiction to manage as it has been proposed, will they now then become part of Abuja urban area to him? Then if Abaji is adjusted to join Kogi state, then it ceases to be part of Abuja? Or if Kotonkarfe is adjusted to join FCT, then it now becomes part of Abuja?

What a comic relief grin
Op, please can we see the calabar maps? Thanks

Wow....so the various industries/factories Udom has created dat have actually created employment for the akwa ibom isn't good enof? Ur rite to an extent regarding the church and state house, but, how can he do more stuff when akpabio left him with so much debt in the excess of 500 billion? Why did akpabio see it necessary to build a non-functional 4 points by sheraton without making provision to work on the road dat leads to his own senatorial district? Ok, over 120 billion naira was spent on tropicana project that remains uncompleted and serves no purpose, like the 4 points hotel. Ok, the ibom stadium with no special features or purpose costs a $100 million to construct. So u expect a man swimming with both hands tied to move as fast like when he's swimming with both hands free? U shld try to be holistic here
Hmmm, Industrieshuh First the Udom told us that those industries are PPPs but he didnt tell us what govt interest is, is it lands??money? ?nobody except the gov knows so why tell he built industries. Secondly why tell us all about these debts now??, when he came and people where asking questions about the debt profile of the state, he comfortably hid that information from us. Akpabio on the other side is looking for relevance. He is a greedy man. If only Udom performed well, he would have got some chance but thats nit the case.

Udom messed up big time. I certainly have no love for Akpabio because they are all birds of the same feather. All Udom's projects are ground breaking projects that NEVER get completed on time. Take Eket remodelling for instance, its been forever!!!! If he loses the next election i don't really care, he is a dissapointment. If he prtformedbwell, this should be the time to show them to us but the truth is there is nothing to show for the amount of money he has gotten so far.
