Hunchogee: So you agree with me that Udom is not intelligent enough because that was exactly my first statement. No problem May 2023 is around the corner. He will be gone soon. |
![]() |
Hunchogee: If he is clueless about what he should do, he should go for tutelage mbok!!!!. What happened to building new markets and incentivizing relocation ![]() ![]() |

Please can someone inform that absentee governor that kiosks and road side shanties have taken over the City of Uyo. Under all the flyovers, pedestrian lanes are being taken over by illegal markets!!! A responsible government would never turn a blind eye to the traffic and chaos caused by the NNPC mega station on ikot ekpene Road, why can't the entrance be directed to the back to free the highway. The Nasarawa area is a total rejected and abandoned part of town thrown to the hausa community to do what they like. Yet he wants us to support his candidate? He must be joking. ![]() ![]() |

There is NOTHING like vandalism anywhere. Those towers simply suffered a structural failure during to very strong winds at the onset of the rainy season!!!! Can someone tell me exactly what was used to vandalize such infrastructure? Bombs?? Grenades?? where is the proof? It is Ludacris how govt want to protect their cronies who did very poor engineering work by blaming it on non-existent vandals!!!!! |

This is not an Akwa Ibom state government project. it is purely a private concern. Udom is just trying to attach himself to make it seem he is doing something. Fraudulent Governor ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() 2 Likes |

Viltron: Is it only Akwa Ibom people that you find in Port Harcourt? Here in Akwa Ibom, you find people from all over Nigeria--hausa, igbo, yoruba, Egbira, idoma, itshekiri, ijaw, Germans sef. So what's your point? 1 Like |

After "finishing work" , none of Udom and his family members will ever visit that hospital for anything. Akpabio built the specialist hospital and made so much noise but when he needed health services he flew out of the country. Who do these people think they are fooling sef ![]() ![]() ![]() As long as they do not use it, it is NOT good enough!!!! |

Udom's 30k boys trying to earn their pay! What a shame!!!! I repeat again there is nothing like an aviation hub at the moment or in sight at Victor Attah International Airport. The hub being built is LAGOS Hub. Stop fooling yourselves!!!! Ibom Air is a good idea and they are doing well in fact they are the best for now but looking at their route expansion plan you will see that 95% of their routes, emanate and terminate in Lagos!! Even the regional routes they are mouthing about will emanate from Lagos, so who is fooling who? Yes Ibom Air has helped flight availability at Uyo Airport but that is where it ends!! There is nothing like Aviation hub at Uyo, that's a fallacy, at least at the moment unless they do something about it. Udom Emmanuel is yet to demonstrate how he is building a hub, International terminal ![]() |

peppermint7: Which is the tragedy of the Udom administration in Akwa Ibom. I'm not surprised. It is obvious Udom is a classless fellow, he lacks the eye for finesse and functionality. After rendering that area economically comatose for years he suddenly rushes to 'commission' it. Now that place is now the official 'Ojuelegba' or 'Oshodi' of Uyo!!! Under that flyover, as I type there is now a big market booming there, on the median and every available space. The flyover sadly is also serving as a motor park. Buses and Keke have officially taken over one lane at the flyover. There will now be more traffic at Ikot Oku Ikono junction than ever before become Mr. Clueless, his advisers and sycophants have no clue what it means to plan a city!!!! Uyo Capital City Development Authority is manned by a politician whose sole aim is to line his pocket with money in preparation for the next election. Uyo Local Government like others is dead!! Can someone please ask Mr. Udom Emmanuel which of the previously built flyovers in the state is like this?? No greenery, no trees, no street lights in the underpass areas, I mean, Udom is are a big scam!!! His appreciation of aesthetics is zero, it is either nobody has told him or he just simply doesn't care!! What I am saying is common to ALL his projects!!! This is the worst governor Akwa Ibom has ever had!!!! |

GiftUbani1995: Why do you want to relocate? Don't jump from frypan to fire, I will rather advise you get a second stream of income outside teaching. Akwa Ibom is relatively cheap to put up with that salary. 1 Like |

eeetuk: First of all where or how you or I live is of no importance in this discussion. You said Lagos is the only state that provides subsidised public transport-- where did you get this fallacy from ![]() |

peppermint7: True, that flyover is incomplete. My question now is 'will it be completed?' |
![]() |
eeetuk: Bros you grew up in Akwa ibom and travelled to only 2 local governments, chai you can lie ooo. I tell you, you have never been to akwa ibom, neither do you know anything about akwa ibom. Stop typing crap!!!! |

Well at looooooong last, this junction will finally be open to traffic, whew!!!! but what about the street lights? what about the aesthetic finishings like trees and flowers? road signs? what about the road markings? will they be all done before inauguration date? i dont know but there is something about the quality of Udom's projects, they always look incomplete and lack that high quality finishing. all the same thank God it's finished. |

Hunchogee: For that route for now, you can't base your plans on Uyo passengers alone. Currently passengers from the South East or South South heading to far North - Kano, Katsina, Jigawa, Kaduna etc have to fly to Abuja or Lagos first before taking another flight to their destinations. You might think, you might not get the traffic, but when you start, passengers from cities around (PH, Calabar, Aba, Umuahia, Owerri, Abakalilki, etc) will prefer to come to Uyo to fly directly to Kano rather than fly twice, first to Lagos or Abuja then to the far North. Kano is a good start, its the "Lagos" of the North. The CRJ 900 is perfect for a start. That how to build a route rather than foraging on already established routes and even strengthens the already saturated Lagos Hub. I have seen Ibom air's expansion plans and I am saddened to inform you that Ibom air is just there the serve other Nigerian airports. Nothing in that plan shows that they are interested in building Uyo hub. Ibom air plans to fly Duala, Banjul,Malabo, are they planning to fly from Lagos or Abuja? That will be a disaster for Uyo hub. The worst should be Uyo-Lagos-Banjul or Uyo-Abuja-Banjul if not it should be Uyo directly to those destinations. The Uyo hub has to be fed properly before they plan those regional routes. That's where the indirect impacts of the airline will be felt most in Akwa Ibom-hotels, restaurants, commerce, etc. If this is not done Ibom air will just be another new good airline serving other destinations but without indirect benefits to Uyo Airport and Akwa Ibom at large. Other airlines can as well ferry people in and out of Uyo to Lagos and Abuja as before. No other airline will build Uyo hub for you, Ibom air should pick up the gauntlet and get to work immediately. 4 Likes |

Hunchogee: I wrote what you read, what's wrong with Uyo-Kano? As far as I'm concerned Ibom air is building Lagos hub period!!! When will the regional routes start? |

Ibom air is still developing Lagos hub for Lagos, why is aksg doing this? Can someone explain to me? |

Hunchogee: True! |

Hunchogee: I Said IF it's true. My issue with Eket in particular is despite claiming to be the 2nd populated "City", it still presents itself as a slum! A lot of work needs to be done there to bring it to a status of a proper city. Ikot Ekpene in my opinion looks more of a city than Eket (so called oil city) and that is very sad! |
![]() |
Cnach: This is very very serious if it's true. So what's the use of of the oil companies in that area? Can they they please pack and go? |
![]() |
NkanAkpanika: You have a point, but Eket I suppose has leaders too. What are they doing? Eket like Ikot Ekpene should be complementing Uyo. Please if you know the people that matter in Eket please inform them that Eket is not living up to expectations oo, oil workers have lived there for decades yet can't make the city look decent. Poor city planning, Markets right on the streets and pedestrian walkways, indiscriminate dumping of wastes on the roads and gutters, non appreciation of city aesthetics - proper building setbacks, tree and flower planting, street sweeping. The "city" is experiencing stunted growth. As for Ibeno, the potential of that place is yet to the harnessed. I will like to know who is marginalising Ibeno, is it by Eket people wo are yet to their acts right? . Ibeno leaders should not wait for state government oo, there are some things the LG can still do to improve the condition of that beach, ukpenekang and other places. E. G constant cleaning up of the beach, making the entrance to the beach more welcoming, where does all the 200 Naira per person collected go? Organize the stalls and joints better. That beach is a gold mine. Secure the place with uniformed and polite security men. Beautify the place by planting more trees and flowers. Stop all forms of open defecation and dumping of wastes around the area, etc. It can be done if they put their minds to it. I also don't know why external investments are not coming in for the beach front development, these are pertinent questions we need to ask ourselves. Akwa Ibom can easily be the eldorado we all hope for only if all hands and minds (leaders first, then followers) are on deck. We are a unique people. God bless Akwa Ibom State. 2 Likes 1 Share |

Good work on the stadium so far, but I have a problem. Why is Eket still looking like a slum? It's very dirty, shanties everywhere. The so called remodelling by the state government is taking forever to be completed. That Eket Ibeno axis should be very inviting, clean roads, well aligned buildings, the beach entrance should be exquisitely beautified. What is the job of the Chairmen of Eket and Ibeno LGAs (Chairmen in Akwa Ibom are just there to occupy space, nothing to show). Why are environmental laws not enforced in Eket for heaven's sake ![]() 9 Likes 2 Shares |

NkanAkpanika: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Akwa_Ibom_Airport#:~:text=The%20first%20phase%20of%20airport,flights%20to%20Abuja%20and%20Lagos. Your Statement that " Victor Attah didn't build jac" is what I want to address. Facts are sacred!!!! I clearly remember the problems/petitions Attah encountered with especially the Oron people when Oron Road had to be realigned because the runway had cut the road into two. Other petitions against the airport were flying left, right and center but Attah was focused. You might be an Akpabio or Udom supporter but let's not try to distort facts. As correctly stated by Wikipedia the Airport construction started in 2006 (Attah left 2007) - we are not talking about the land acquisition, designs/surveys or getting approvals (both for the airport and Oron road realignment - Oron Road is a federal road) from FG which started earlier and is substantial work. As at 2007 when Attah left, all approvals were received, land acquired, Oron Road realignment had commenced, the runway was cleared, the MRO had started too. When Akpabio came in he changed the contractors (old contractors were too slow) and commenced building the interim terminal building (Inc. control towers etc) , completed the runway, apron, completed the Oron Road realignment, completed the MRO building(external) and landed the first plane (Arik Air) in 2009. Udom in 2015 has now come to construct the 2nd runway(ongoing) , expand the apron, continue work on MRO, establish Ibom Air, started the international terminal, link airport to the electricity grid(before it was powered by generators). This is one project I have really seen continuity in governance from Attah to Akpabio to Udom. There is a reason the Airport is named after Victor Attah. So my brother Attah built more than Jac, the airport could have started earlier if not for his battles with FG with regards onshore/offshore oil dichotomy which he won in 2006 and started construction immediately. Akpabio was lucky to come in when Attah had won the battles and money was available for him to do all he did during his tenure with enough to squander too. Let's give honour to to whom honour is due at all times irrespective of our sentiments. 3 Likes |

When will Udom complete Eket Remodelling? Eket is still a big village as far as I'm concerned. Why steal money through the white elephant worship center when such money could have still been stolen through the completion of Eket remodelling? Why are the fountains in the state not working? Where is Uyo capital city development authority? Too many make shift structures are beginning to dot major highly and streets Itam area is becoming too rowdy, people are selling things on the road median!!! Some are even tying their tables to the trees permanently. Is the environment commissioner sleeping? Why are the environmental laws not enforced, oh I remember, millions of Naira are not involved. Control post to four points by shraton in Ikot ekpene has been blocked for four years now killing all business concerns in that axis, same with ekom Iman area. Just complete these projects and open those places up mbok. As for the LG chairmen, I've never seen a more useless set of people than them. |
