Does your mum have a pension balance of a substantial amount with any PFA,a pension account can be used in addition to her regular SOA otherwise another bet would be her friend's who's SOA reads 20m, but a ton of explanation will come along in your SOP.. Gurus could also help you better.. Ps: IMO. Aderin0la: Hello house. Please I’m in a dilemma.
I got admitted for the Masters in Medical Biotechnology program at University of Windsor, for Fall 2020. Because the admission came in late, I decided to defer until Fall 2021 (so I can gather the right documents for my SP application). Here’s my profile:
21 years old. Just completed Nysc. Bsc in Cell Biology and Genetics (2’1). No travel history (never applied for or been denied a visa either). Currently Working as a Medical Laboratory Assistant. I plan on taking a few online courses in Biotechnology before December/January when I submit my study permit application. Total Tuition for the 2year program is CAD 28,350... Other fees for the 2 years sums up to CAD 6,200. when I divided this, my cost of attendance for a year is around 17,000, plus the 10,000 living expenses = 27,000 (Approximately 8million naira). I’m trying to build up my sponsors bank statement from now but here’s my challenge:
My mother is my main sponsor. She’s a civil servant, has a bank statement of about 9 or 10m naira, 3 buildings in Lagos, and a store. But her current balance would only be sufficient for 1 year of study. Would it be ok to use just her as my sponsor? Can I list the worth of the properties alongside her bank statement, and say that she plans on selling one of them? I have 2 siblings but they’re not heavily dependent on her (one had a masters degree already and is working and one is still in secondary school).
Just Incase, Her friend agreed to be my Co sponsor. But we are not related in any way. Different surname too. But he has a bank statement of almost 20m. Would it have any effect if I list him as my Godfather? Would I have to show any proof ? Or just a sponsorship letter from him would do? |

Please I am about to submit my application online and the questionnaire that I filled didn't provide "Completed Document Checklist for Study Permit"
Please, is this compulsory? or it is based on the provided documents checklist of each candidate profile?

One more thing.. Pls Add the birth certs of all those on your family information(dad, mum, siblings, step), even though they're not accompanying you.. Its clearly stated in their advisory .. https://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/student.asp?countrySelect=NG#applications I think non inclusion is a reason why "family ties" in denials are rampant..imo Nwannediutor: I will be submitting my study permit application this weekend. here are the documents I intend to submit.

Voluntary work without paper (cert) evidence, how do i go about it? Just state in the LOE right?? Meek127: @ just mellow...I appreciate the second point you made based on profession
@sterling Luckymama has said most of the good stuff lol The only tricky part is the family ties(home ties).. since you got a job now, that should help a lot. Just construct the SOP in a good way that shows relationship between your previous degree, your present job and what you intend studying. You just started the job,i hope Zenith will let you take a leave at this point.. anyways get the necessary doc from the bank to support home ties.
Please and please, whatever you state in your SOP,make sure you have evidence for it You should have included that *voluntary work* you did...it helps... just try get evidence
your hubby has 6mil for sponsorship, your living expense and all is closely around 7mil. Only option is to liquidate that asset.

I think this is for people going through paper route. jpepper: Hello everyone,
Please I have a quick question; are we required to submit the additional forms that are in the Visa office instructions document?
They just seem like a repetition of the the information that i already provided in the actual CIC forms (the family information and application for study permit forms), the visa office instruction document also has a document checklist, are we meant to submit it because there is a checklist document from CIC as well.
They are asking for family information all over again in the visa office form, employment history etc, not sure why this is necessary because I already completed the cic forms providing the same info.
Thanks |

mahn!! See for birth certs. Might be reason we're getting caught on family ties back to back, no matter what we write in sop librangyps: Got this off ircc website.
Please check official fee schedule and birth certificates.
I was asked if I have taken any standardized English language test before, I ticked yes and my toefl score report is the evidence.
I hope my GMAT score report also helps to push the point that I merited the admission for mba. |

First refusal reasons: Family ties and employment situation I didn't include any proof family ties, meanwhile advisory says Family members birth cert, even if they're not accompanying you. I didn't also include any employment info, advisory stated otherwise 2nd refusal: the whole 5 generic reasons(Fam ties, employment, travel history, purpose, Finance status) I retified the reasons for the first refusal, Only for me to include my POF which was 2-3months prior to my submission Advisory says Up to date or at best 1month prior Pee2Jay9: Pls share the mistakes you agreed to have made. It will advise us too.. Thanks alot for even sharing |

Morning everyone, so i took my time & went back to IRCC page and had to read everything slowly and even the Nigerian Advisory. I deduced things. immigration is law and law supposedly have different interpretations. To pass the law, u must have fulfilled all possible conditions when weighed front/back or even sideways. In my case, after checklisting, i was able to deduce the reasons for my first refusal, and even particularly for the second refusal (hopefully gscms notes will agree with the latter). It was glaringly both my bloody mistakes. So my advice to us hopefuls, if you've got time, go back and read & digest things there slowly. You'll find out a whole lot we did wrongly. Still come back and lets all talk about it here. My thoughts though.. i just got rejigged, man I'm not backing down on this journey. |

Great Frankrobbn1: It's confirm today from IRCC news! Fall 2020 courses will be conducted Onine due to the COVID-19 and it doesn't have any negative impact when applying for your PGWP. Automatically, you shouldn't think of travelling to Canada until after the fall 2020. Students can begin programs online from outside of Canada and complete up to 50% of their program outside Canada.
COVID-19 PANDEMIC has disrupted so many plans and activities. However, keep the faith and hope for the best.
It will end in praise. |

Hello @mr Frankrobbin. I'll give this study permit journey a last shot this time. I believe it was the POF which was 2 months late that messed up this 2nd application. Any other reason should have been pointed out in the first application, i literally didn't change but even added job info and family ties info (basis for the first refusal). While I wait for the gcsm notes, How can i pm you please so you can go through this SOP, i believe its concise and void of unnecessary info. |

Bro, reasons and docs you submitted before your refusal ? I wantu check something Chukwuemeka101: Really ?
I got admission in university of Regina to study System Engineering at undergraduate level..
I applied for visa on February 15, 2020 ,
I was refused on April 7, 2020
But am not quitting, I can't waste all these time and money then quit, never.. Quitting is never in my dictionary..
So,
I Reapplied again yesterday....
My own point of view.
Let it be true that I have high chances of visa approval .. |

Thank you mr Frank. Another 4 years at Regina? Lol These guys are something else tbh, Left sec schl in 2013,stated things I've done btw then and now even stated my job description is exactly what I'm studying for in the diploma. Nawa o Shouldn't they even be glad I'm staying for just 2years, instead of 4 which makes me liable to stay back? I really wish there was a way we could boycott these people but Nigeria makes it clearly hard for everyone hence no choice! Anyway let's see if the gcms contains any foreign stuff, why didn't they point this particular point in the first application?and I could remember i used the same POF i printed in for a Jan application, for a re-application in march. Could that be a reason for all these? This shi* hurts but we move Frankrobbn1: I regret to hear your study visa was rejected. Please put yourself together as this is just a stepping stone to your next Visa approval.
I have taken my time to carefully scrutinised your profile and the list of supporting documents you had submitted in the last application. I can deduce that there is no logical progressive step between your academic plan and career background. What have you been up and doing for the past 8 years? Have you attained any professional certifications in your field even though you don't have a degree yet?, why do you think that when granted the privilege to study in Canada, you will perform well in classroom assignments and projects? Given that you've vast study gaps. These are crucial points that needs to be properly explained to the visa officer's comprehension in your next visa SOP.
In light of this, I would advise that you apply for an undergraduate program preferably a bachelor's degree in an IT related discipline.
While preparing for a subsequent re-application, I would suggest that you should apply for an admission at University of Regina or University of Saskatchewan. This would increase your chances of approval.
Finally, always seek counsel from knowledgeable folks on this thread. Cheer up, I see you getting your visa the next time.
It will end in praise. |

I applied first in Jan and got denied in Feb. Refusal Details being: "current employment situation and family ties in home country and in Canada"
Here's my profile: I'm 23(24 by October) No tertiary education yet, i have an 8 year gap from end of secondary schl up till 2020. I've been working since 2016 as an ict staff at an energy company, learning software dev. And volunteering at a local book club SOA= 11,200usd + 13M =about 62KCaD or so, sponsor is mum, 2yr fees + living expenses= about 40KCAD and is way less than the total of what i presented so money shouldn't be an issue. I gained adms at NBCC for a 2yr diploma in network administration for Fall 2020, I had my sponsor write a letter too including my SOP , waec, family properties including a land Doc in my name, mum's last designation and salary increase.
I reapplied on 4th of march with all info above and added Proof of family ties which include: Dad and mum's employment proof, my birth certificate and that of entire family, each member of family's local govt of origin cert I also added proof of employment which include : Employment letter, confirmation letter, ID, Leave approval for duration of study from my employer and also indicated that i hv been denied bfr above.
Today, i got denied for the second time and I'm sad and demoralised.
Reasons being: travel history Family ties in canada and home country Current employment situation Personal assests and status Purpose of visit
