Skeletal anatomy is pretty useful at determining the size and looks of a animal or human. These things can be reconstructed and then visualized by means of paintings or animations. These are certainly not 100% accurate as they are reconstructions. We can't see the colours of an animal by examining its bones for example. But you certainly can rely on the size and general shape as reconstructed by means of skeletal anatomy.
