Crime / 200 Italian Police Arrest Nigerian Mafia Gangsters by rossoki: 2:48am On Oct 30, 2020
More than 200 police took part in a major operation against the Nigerian mafia in Italy on Wednesday led by the flying squads of Turin and Ferrara.

Police made dozens of arrests against the Nigerian mafia organization called Arobaga Vikings or Norsemen Kclub International, organized into local cells called Decks and present in many Italian cities.

National leaders of the mafia, which deals mainly in prostitution and drug trafficking were arrested.

They included 50-year-old Emmanuel Okenwa aka 'Boogye', an AfroBeat DJ and the self-styled "King of Ferrara".

In all, 31 people were arrested in Ferrara.

A further 43 were taken into custody in Turin, including several women who allegedly ran prostitution rackets.

Bologna preliminary investigations judge Gianluca Petragnani Gelosi said the Vikings' criminal plan was to "violently annihilate" other Nigerian crime outfits and take over their turf.

Interior Minister Luciana Lamorgese said the police guard against criminal organizations and their illegal trafficking was high..

Centre-right opposition leader Matteo Salvini, of the rightist nationalist Euroskeptic and anti-migrant League party, congratulated the police and accused the ruling centre-left Democatic Party of "denying" the problem of the Nigerian mafia.

Majority of Nigerians love Trump more than our own president. Progressive minded people wish that he is Nigeria's president. Only backward people thinks otherwise

Dude, use your brain. Trump is a habitual liar and a crook.

This is well-documented and provable.

You and other Nigerians who ''love him'' are just misguided.

13,000 megawatt?? With a population of 200million and you think that's an achievement?

South africa with a Population of just 50million generates nothing less than 50,000 megawatts

South Africa began investing in power infrastructure as far back as the early 19th century (the 1820s).

Nigeria's first power plant was commissioned in 1964. Kainji Dam.

Nigeria is not South Africa's mate in terms of development.

For Nigeria to transform its distribution sector, it will cost billions of dollars.

Selling excess power to countries that need it is actually a great way to raise the funds to pay for the building of our distribution infrastructure.

Politics / I Don't Blame The Nigerian Police For Doing Shakara by rossoki: 4:22am On Oct 29, 2020
Honestly, I don't really blame the Nigerian police for doing shakara, and refusing to return to work as usual.

An unofficial, undeclared, but impeccably timed strike.

This is a an organisation that has been the subject of so much abuse, vilification, and opprobrium from all sectors of society, including from overseas, from the British parliament all the way to Bill and Hillary Clinton, Kanye West, Rihanna, and Beyonce, over the last three weeks.

There have been blanket accusations of corruption and brutality of the service, with very little effort made to differentiate the 'good' from the 'bad' cops, or to acknowledge the overall role played by the police in ensuring security.

Hundreds of Nigerian policemen are killed each year fighting robbers and criminals.

While we sleep, they patrol our streets at night, at great personal risk to themselves.

They stand between us and the armed robbers.

Not Falz. Not Seun Kuti. Not Tiwa Savage or Beyonce.

Them.

Without them, we're toast.

We do not appreciate our police enough.

Rampaging mobs burnt down police stations indiscriminately, leaving many officers wondering where exactly the public expect them to 'return' to.

Meanwhile, robbers, pickpockets, kidnappers, street urchins and layabouts of various hue are licking their lips in anticipation of a police-less environment.

A hobbesian, dystopian, post-apocalyptic society in which they can unleash their full repertoire of terror on the nation with reckless abandon.

Should we launch a National Police Appreciation Day to get the men in blue to have a change of heart, and return to duty?

If you're Trump or an average American, will you trust a woman from corrupt Nigeria with such a sensitive office or a South Korean, a woman from an ally and friendly country?

SK and US have strong ties and it's no rocket science that they will stick with them at this time.

Ngozi will still win though whether US supports her or not.

But we normally trust people from corrupt America to such sensitive positions.

(America, which launches entire wars killing millions, based on lies and deceit, in order to corner natural resources for its elite, is 100 times more corrupt than Nigeria).

Bro, he is not.

I laugh when I see you guys idolizing Messi, CR2, etc over Pele.

Na young age dey do una. wink

Look, there are many games Pele played whose tapes have been lost or were not televised etc, due to the era. But make no mistake, the guy did things with the ball that not even Messi can try today. They are verifiable claims that Pele headed the ball from his box all the way to the halfway line with players chasing him. This was in Brazilian club football. He dribbled up to 10 players in a row once! He could head, run, tackle, cross, dribble. In three world cups, he was banging in goaIs in virtually ever game he played. I mean, the complete player.

If Pele was around today, he'd be an utter beast of the game. He would have even been better, because these days strikers are better protected by the refs, and can display their repertoire of skills more freely.

Personally I don't think stealing is the problem with Nigeria. Even in USA, they do steal too. The issue is that the politicians here steal without conscience. How will you steal to the tune of 10 billion? Like at least do the job to an appreciable level then steal the remaining. But these people will leave the job undone and steal the money. Trust me if they carry out at least 80% of their duties and steal the remaining 20%, their theft will go unnoticed.

I actually think you are wrong.

Less than 30% of Nigeria's annual earnings is lost to corruption.

I'd say 25% at most.

It is a myth that ''80%'' or such humungous amounts are lost to corruption.

If that was the case Nigeria would be in receipt of food aid like Somalia and Ethiopia used to be, and there would be mass starvation.

Our annual budget is 35 billion dollars.

You can't tell me the whole nation is living on less than 5 or 6 billion dollars a year.

So here we are, approaching 100 views.

So far, NOT ONE person has responded to say ''No I will never enrich myself if elected to high office''.

Our problem is NOT our leaders.

Our problem is us.

If you come on this thread and FAIL to respond to the poser as specified above, it is to be taken by all and sundry as an admission by yourself of being a thief, irrespective of anything else you type.

Good day.

True....

I was discussing with someone on this same topic, I told him to make an input

He said "I will still loot if I'm given the opportunity to rule any sector of this country"

He added " I can't come into the system and change something that have been taken as a normalcy"

The truth is that the government is the true representation of its citizens.

But we still have people that mean well for this country but they hardly get the chance or some of them are not interested in playing the game of politics

Thanks for your roundabout admission to being a thief.

YES, THEY WILL STEAL

REASONS.
The ones at the leadership position are doing it. Thats what they basically teach the followers. Steal and nothing will happen.

Imagine a situation where the leaders are actually leading and failure to lead effectively means jail time. Do you know that followers learn from leaders.

If they led well, followers would even lead better when he becomes a leader.

I opened a similar thread a few months ago, and everybody ran away.

The thread only had 4 responses.

Now is an opportunity to RESTATE your position, in light of recent events.

Because as the saying goes, as you point one finger, 4 point back at you.

It is so easy to criticise & condemn those in power as 'thieves' 'looters' etc.

Now state where YOU stand on a personal level.

The focus is now on YOU.

No one else.

YOU.

The floor is open.

And God is waching.

Don't run away. Don't avoid this thread.

If you do, you are a thief, and a hypocrite, and are admitting it.

The floor is open.
