RomanceRe: Should I Marry For Love Or Stability? by rotbog(m): 4:13am On Nov 13, 2007
What do u really want? Have u been so so through hell?U have met someone that really loves u genuinely and yet you want to hurt him? What do Women really Want?

If u meet an attractive guy, its like "I dont trust him"

U meet a real guy who loves you, its like " He is not so hot"

U meet one who's attractive and loves u, its like " He's not so bucksed up"

How long will u keep being choosy, time is running out and some younger girls may take your place. Id advice you take time out to pray and fast so that some unseen hands dont rob you of a life time of happiness. You say you have met many losers. Have you taken time to ask yourself why. Could the problem be you? Are you too pushy? Do you look down on people? It doesnt have to be on them. I mean guys can really read who you are from the way u treat others or view others around you.

If you ask for my human view of your situation, I think you better go with this guy. It may be yo last chance.I dont mean to be harsh or be too assuming. You asked for opinions. Its my 50 shekels. Peace.
RomanceIs This Okay? by rotbog(op): 3:38am On Nov 13, 2007
Is it okay for a 30 year old man to marry a 22 year old. I need your advice. I am madly in love with a 22 year old and she keeps bugging me to wed her ASAP. We have been friends for 3 years now.

We met when I fell out from my last relationship based on trust issues. My Ex never believed she was my only. I just couldn't convince her. Each time we went out and a lady stares at me, she always accused me of giving a green light with my body language. I just couldnt understand what "My body Language thing was all about" She later asked for a break. Ive just been so unfortunate on getting girls to trust me, till i met this angel.

Anyway, back to the topic. I feel so guilty now, because my baby keeps asking me why im so uncomfortable with going ahead to make love to her. So far Ive only stopped at kissing. She says she has never felt so right in her life. And that her mum really wants to formally meet me.

I just want to know if its okay. I mean the settling down and age issue. I have not told my mum or my favorite sister my intentions, although they know her already as a friend.

I need candid opinions. Please.
PoliticsOpposition Parties May Boycott Presidential Elections by rotbog(op): 4:39am On Apr 17, 2007
Opposition parties meet today, may boycott presidential polls
By Akpo Esajere, Group Political Editor

SHOULD the coming presidential election be boycotted or not? That is the question which opposition parties are set to decide upon this morning as they meet in Abuja.

Sources said last night that the overwhelming thinking among the camps of the leading presidential contenders is that their participation in the next weekend's election could only serve to put legitimacy on a heavily flawed and fraudulent electoral process.

It is a fall-out of the governorship and State Assembly polls held last Saturday as the first leg of the two-pronged exercise.

Opposition parties have rejected the outcome of the gubernatorial contest in many states considered to have been heavily abused and manipulated.

Not only was the conduct marred by severe irregularities, the slots in a majority of the states are rated as having been unfairly awarded to the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

At the meeting of opposition parties in Abuja last week, a leading presidential candidate, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari of the All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP) had canvassed consensus to enable the opposition to present a "granite coalition" against the ruling party's alleged rigging plot.

But that is likely to give way as they meet today, faced with what some sources among opposition politicians termed as "a pre-determined project of returning the PDP presidential candidate at all costs."

The Action Congress (AC), according to sources, is going to the meeting today on the position that there is no point going for the election.

This is in spite of the Supreme Court judgement yesterday, which cleared the way for its presidential flag bearer, Vice President Atiku Abubakar, to run in the election.

As at last night, the Vice President's camp, according to sources, was divided between those who think that he should run and those who see it as pointless, with the latter being a big majority.

The first group believes that if Abubakr were denied victory, he could use the recognised legal channels particularly the election tribunal, to obtain redress.

This is the more so as the courts have demonstrated through decisions in many cases involving him that they are ready to uphold justice and fair play.

The second group, which may carry the day, are however of the view that Abubakar's participation could only serve to confer legitimacy on the election, even when "obviously, the INEC under Prof. Maurice Iwu could never announce Atiku as winner of the election."

Said a source: "Running will only serve to diminish Atiku politically. They will have the opportunity to humiliate him. They will declare votes for him behind Buhari and even (Pat) Utomi and (Chris) Okotie.

"INEC under Iwu has established itself as Atiku's adversary. It could never announce Atiku."

However, it is speculated that the fact of the ANPP picking up five states in the governorship election may encourage Buhari to insist on going ahead to test his popularity at presidential election.

I detest Atiku . I mean the man is so stuborn i wonder who gave him the false impresion that he is charismatic or has a large following. it is num skulls like him that put a country to war based on false self perceptions of delusions grandeur.

The earlier his ambitions and disgusting personality are abbreviated(u know what that means) the better it would be for the future of Nigeria. Any crisis stemming from any unguided and personaly motivated interests aimed at the disruption of the April elections would further plunge us deeper into the abyss.

This is no prophesy: The earler that empty headed bastard is abbreviated the better for our collective peace. Better to abbbreviate one than to lead 140 million people into untold hardship that may arise from chaos. Lets not underestimate the recent threat by the AC to disrupt April elections.

Sometimes a polity has to do what it has to do to save a majority. Its no sin.

I hope the Leadership gets the message. lipsrsealed

France, U.S., unable to confirm report bin Laden dead

By Anna Willard and David Morgan
PARIS/WASHINGTON (Reuters) - France and the United States said on Saturday they could not confirm a report that Osama bin Laden had died and France launched a probe into how a secret document containing the claim was leaked.

French regional daily L'Est Republicain, published in Nancy, quoted a document from France's DGSE foreign intelligence service as saying the Saudi secret services were convinced the al Qaeda leader had died of typhoid in Pakistan in late August.

An image taken from an internet posting by al Qaeda's media arm on September 11, 2006, shows Osama bin Laden speaking in an unknown location. France's Defence Ministry said on Saturday a secret service report saying bin Laden had died could not be confirmed but said it would launch an inquiry into the leak of secret documents. (REUTERS/Internet)
Time magazine separately posted an article on its website citing an unidentified Saudi source, who claimed bin Laden was stricken with a water-borne disease and may already be dead.

President Jacques Chirac told reporters bin Laden's death "has not been confirmed in any way whatsoever, and so I have no comment to make."

"I was a bit surprised to see that a confidential note from the DGSE had been published," he said after a summit with leaders of Germany and Russia.

The Saudi Interior Ministry was not available for comment

TravelMilitary Plane Crash In Benue State Kills 14 by rotbog(op): 4:57am On Sep 18, 2006
Tragedy: Another Air Disaster In Nigeria!

8 Generals, 6 Others Feared Dead
From Donald Andoor in Abuja and Abel Orih-Idoma in Makurdi, 09.18.2006

• Bamali, Adesunloye on board

The nation was yesterday thrown into mourning as an Obudu Ranch-bound Dornier 228 military aircraft, carrying senior Army officers crashed at Vandekiya in Benue State, killing 14 of the 18 passengers and crew on board.

Confirming the tragedy in a statement in Calabar, Cross River State, the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lt. Gen. Owoeye Azazi, said the ill-fated aircraft was flying the senior officers from Abuja to Obudu for the Chief of Army Staff Retreat on ‘The Future of the Military in the Next Decade’ when it crashed between 9am and 10am, 18 nautical miles from its destination.

The COAS, who would not confirm neither figure nor the identity of casualty until their families had been informed, said rescue operations were on even as the military hierarchy had ordered investigations into the crash.
THISDAY information, however, has it that about eight Generals, including two General Officers Commanding (GOCs), two Lieutenant Colonels and four other officers might have been killed in the crash that left only four survivors who were said to be in very critical conditions last night.

Unconfirmed information also said that the GOC, 2nd Mechanised Division, Ibadan, Maj.Gen. Nuhu Bamali, the GOC 81 Garrison Division, Ikeja, Maj. Gen. Adesunloye, and the Director of Operations Army Headquarters, Brig. Gen. S.M. Lemu, were among the officers on board.

Preliminary investigations, according to further information, said the aircraft might have ran into bad weather.
The tragedy immediately attracted a condolence message from the Cross River State Government, which spoke through the Deputy Governor, Elder Walter Eneji.

According to a statement in Calabar by the Press Secretary to the state governor, Mr. Joseph Ushigiale, the deputy governor had conveyed the heartfelt condolences of the people and government of the state to the Federal Government through the Chief of Army Staff.

Speaking to THISDAY, however, Director of Defence Information, Brigadier-General Felix Chukwuma, said on the receipt of the news of the incident, the Chief of Defence Staff, General Martin Luther Agwai, dispatched both the Army and Air Force service chiefs (General Azazi and Air Marshal Dike) to Cross River State to command the search and rescue operation.
Also speaking in a telephone interview with THISDAY, the Director of Public Relations and Information (DOPRI) of the Nigerian Air Force, Group Captain Emeka Ozoemena, said the General Officer Comma-nding (GOC) 82 Division, Enugu, Major-General Abdul-hafeez Adewuyi, who was scheduled to receive the officer on arrival, had to lead the search and rescue team that was dispatched to the scene of the crash.

Ozoemena assured Nige-rians that the Nigeria Air Force would unveil the manifest of the crashed plane to the public today, explaining: “We want to avoid a situation where the press would begin to speculate on the names. It is proper for us to inform the families of the deceased before releasing their names to the press.”

THISDAY gathered that immediately the news of the crash got to the military headquarters, a search and rescue team made up of a military helicopter, and another from the police were dispatched to the scene of the crash.
Reports from Makurdi, capital of Benue State, said a convoy of the state Governor, Dr. George Akume, left the state capital for the scene of the incident as 6:25 pm, possibly with the Chief of Army Staff.

The Makurdi – Gboko Road became unusually busy as motorists eager to get to the scene of the accident, which was over 100km, were seen speeding off in their vehicles. Makurdi, the state capital, is in a gloomy mood with groups of people seen in secluded circles discussing the air crash in hush tones, worried whether any of the occupants of the air craft is some one known and dear to them.

Yesterday’s crash is the most fatal air crash involving military officers since1992, when a military aircraft plunged into the creeks in Ejigbo, few minutes after take off from the Lagos Interna-tional Airport, killing 192 junior and senior officeßs, as well as the crew on board.
