when you first call, he tells you he is in Abuja. do not fall for that,
if you don't learn anything from this, learn the following Reg Flags Alert
meet any seller in person to transact online dealings even if you are busy, you can send someone on your behalf to check him or her,
do not pay into any ones account even if its part payment for a product you've not seen.
If any seller do not add his or her location and address to what ever they advertised, this should signal Red Flag.no serious seller would want to do business without adding location and address when it comes to physical product except maybe you have done business with him or her to an extent to gain trust but for someone you barely know, you should be at alert
if you call a seller, do not tell him or her your location.first ask them where they reside and see what they say and if they tell you they reside in abuja, kaduna or any other long distance from your end, you should be at alert.you can play along and tell them you have some one there or you reside in same state and see what they will say.most of them will use price to chase you if they know you reside in same state because they don't want to transact with you, some may tell you they are not in the state, maybe they traveled for important quest.this should definitely signal Red Flag to you.
If they asked you to come for meet up and you don't reside in that state, you can look for someone living in that state which you are sure of to carry out the transaction for you.you will have to be careful with this also not to meet another scammer that will scam you by not meeting the person on your behalf
try and do a google search of the persons name if they send their account details to you, just type the account number and see the result.am sure you may get result related to that person history online.with the result, you can decide whether to transact or not
if you can't find the person via his or her account number because i know some of them don't like adding their account number online, you can use their mobile phone number and see the result
you can also use facebook to search for the person using his name or phone number and go through their profile. Check their profile and do some diggings to see how often they update their profile.you may get their contact address via facebook if they leave it public.
You can also create a thread on forums to ask members if they have transact business with them.you may get some fake testimonies from some members who pretend to have done business with them.they are often same person making the comment.so be at alert.if you see any suspicious comment recommending them, click on that persons profile and check the date they registered on the forum and also go through their post history.if the date they registered on the forum is recent, then you should be at alert
if a seller advertise on a forum, click his profile and check the date they registered.if the date is recent, then you should be at alert.like this guy that scammed me, the date he created most of his account was recent.like i said, i failed to carry out proper check due to the stuffs i was doing offline..
To alert some people on nairaland who may fall victims from his various thread because i can see he has created various account and listed mouth watering offers and nairaland users are already asking questions about the product he claims to be selling.i will mention their names so they won't fall victims

However OP, your matte coating no be First body o!
 It is not an XLE!!!
The logo alone does not automatically make it an Xle.
Sometimes a rear damage to a car can warrant a change of the boot which might be of another model. Or the owner just decided to buy any logo to paste on his car.
There are other features of a Camry interior to differenciate the models from one another apart from just the emblem!! |

A greedy person wants to buy a car at ridiculous amount that doesn't even sound reasonable.
Before you purchase a car, do a diligent market survey of prices and know the price range.
When a deal is too good to be true, then its not good and not true!!! |
Autos › Beware!!! He Who Has Ears........ by RoyalRoy(op): 5:10am On Aug 13, 2015*. Modified: 6:38am On Aug 13, 2015 |
There are still people on this forum who are not aware of scammers who parade themselves as customs officers here on Nairaland, Facebook, Twitter and other social media platforms.
They offer a long list of cars with ridiculous prices. They offer to sell you cars without fault for half the market value.
Be aware now, that contacting these new sets of fraudsters have landed many into sorrow and regrets.
There is a new dimension now added to it now. Apart from asking you to pay certain amount into their accounts for "processing" and all sorts, they are now beginning to kidnap people for ransom!!
A man went to see this "customs officer" on Tuesday to check on an advertised car only for him to be kidnapped by these elements. He was made to withdraw the said amount of money he wanted to use in buying the car!!!
Now this is a word of advice to buyers of cars, either Customs or regular seller.
1. Never go to buy a car alone. Go along with someone either your mechanic or someone who can be trusted.
2. If the car is not with a dealer, Don't meet with ANY auto dealer in their house or other private spaces. Ask that you two should meet in the nearest open space close to where their car is.
3. Endeavour to make sure you are not carrying physical cash along to buy a car. There are banks almost everywhere with many options for easier payments.
He who has ears, let them hear!!!
Check the picture below, its from the Official Customs Facebook page.

freecocoa: Bodashee I have been in that place before but mine was in a banking hall.
You did the right thing by speaking up and I think it's still okay you made it about you but I am of the opinion, you spoke to the wrong person.
You have no business with the man directly, as he didn't try to take your place, the people(or person in front of you, sending you a position backwards) who allowed him in, did. What I would do, was I the one, is, tell the person standing in front me that, when the two persons originally supposed to go before me, goes, I'll take my turn, then let him/her deal with the person in front of them, who is also about to take his/her turn, doing this will awaken them to seeing how allowing the man in, affects others on the queue.
In as much as I'm all for "educating people", I am also all for "minding my business"
You can pass the message across without infringing on people's right, that's how I see it. Very tactical. I love your approach.

tearoses: Parenting starts from birth. I m not sure that you can suddenly start training a teenager. . . Isnt that a bit too late?
I have a teenager and there is nothing really that I want to say now that will change anything either way. We advise him, show him love and teach by example. Kids watch and learn from their parents We taught him respect, the value of hardwork and we listened to him. Sometines we even negotiate with him. " You can go to this concert, but you have to be back by a certain time" When he did wrong we disciplined accordingly and sensibly and not over do it or loose the plot. We do not use damaging words on him We rooted him in Church and he is an active Church worker. We give him responsibility and is very involved in matters that concern the home. I also let him make some of his own mistakes. I can see one in the pipeline now, but I will let him learn from it, as long as its not going to damage or kill him
Mostly kids need love growig up I never wanted to offend my dad becasue I would feel guilty that I did that to a man who showed me so much love Funny enough he very rarely discsiplined us, but we always wanted to behave to make him happy. Spot on as always!!! |
