Jobs/VacanciesRe: Please I Need A Job by Rubyjade: 7:34pm On Apr 11, 2025
Donwise52:
Please I need a job.
I am a graduate of the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta 2017.
I have been looking for jobs in Lagos since January last year all to nothing.
I had it planned out since I got a partial scholarship to a school in Canada but my visa was denied twice. I got part of my initial school fees deposit back and I invested in ehailing since 2020 but had to stop June 2023 when subsidy was removed. Then I started buying and selling Nigerian used cars but it all nosedive on Dec 12th 2023 when I was robbed of the last car I sold November 26th. My account was wiped of 3.7m also my wife and my phone and laptop was stolen also that day.. I had to comply when they wanted to cut my 3 months baby into 2.. I went to the bank but they couldn't do anything as the money was used to buy crypto... It's been a roller-coaster of tribulations ever since then.. I even looked for a driving job I couldn't get prolly because I don't have connections. I have gone to Agbara for factory job(frying noodles) but no accommodation n a lot happened so I had to leave. I am a very handyman and also a computer engineer. I have sold virtually everything I have in my house just to survive as I have a wife n a baby to cater for, some of it u can see on my thread here on nairaland. I do some survey jobs online to survive sometimes but right now most of it requires having a laptop. I am not lazy to do any job right now as it hurts seeing my baby crying because he's hungry and my woman too. I would really appreciate if any has a job for me. I stay at Meiran, Lagos I wouldn't mind outside Lagos in as much as I can get a place to sleep. Right now I haven't eaten anything since yesterday morning and no hope of anything today. Please if you have any job for me anywhere here is my contact 08160414488

Dilemma Alert!

Hey friends, need your advice!

I'm currently juggling two remote jobs that pay over 400k cumulatively. They're fully remote, with only monthly meeting for one of the remote job.

Just got an offer to join a real estate organization as an accountant salary (350k gross). It's a new challenge, but I'm hesitant because one of the remote jobs involves travelling (although I haven't travelled since I started the remote job) given Nigeria's economic situation.

Should I:

A) Stick with my stable remote jobs
B) Take the risk and join the real estate organization
C) Risk it and do the remote and onsite job together for financial stability.

Share your thoughts!

From DM
I'm a married man living in Abuja, where I work as a web designer and app developer. I have my own office and brands, and I've diversified my income streams through various business ventures.

In January, I received a call from my uncle, who wanted me to meet him in Port Harcourt about a job opportunity in an oil company. At the time, I wasn't interested, so I politely declined, citing a toothache as the reason.

What's relevant to this situation is that my uncle has been providing me and my siblings with a monthly allowance of 280,000 naira since I was in school. However, I'd rather not discuss this further, except to say that it's a point of contention. Being an inherritance paid to everyone and handled by him.

In February, my siblings received their allowance, but I didn't. My brother informed me that my uncle had stopped my payment because he was upset that I hadn't accepted his job proposal. This isn't the only thing my uncle has excluded me from, despite being aware of my financial stability.

Recently, my wife(Army OFFICER) was posted to Port Harcourt, which adds another layer to this situation. If I were to accept my uncle's offer, I'd be under my wife's scrutiny, which could impact my personal and professional life.

I'm currently conflicted about what to do, and I'm weighing my options carefully.

What would you do ?

It’s simple nature

Don’t let modern people with their hypocrisy wannabe deceive you

That’s the way it is…

Men and women are different and never the same..
that’s why a man has penis with uncountable sperms

For any specie to survive, the females must outnumber the males…. The males must be strong enough to defend the clan while the females must be numerous enough to repopulate.

Imagine an ecosystem with 10 males and 100 females and compare to one with 100 males and 10 females, the later is prone to be wiped out faster due to lower rate of reproduction.

If you want to run an animal farm, you will get more females and very few males to make sure there’s faster reproduction and growth

As a man, your ultimate goal is to make money and populate as much as you can..

Nicenancy:
Why?
A question that has puzzled many for centuries.

There's no straightforward answer, as every individual is unique, and relationships are complex. However, here are some possible insights:

1. Biological and psychological factors: Some research suggests that men's brains are wired to respond to multiple potential partners, which can lead to a desire for variety. Additionally, testosterone levels can influence libido and attraction to multiple partners.
2. Societal and cultural influences: Traditional masculinity often emphasizes conquest and dominance, which can manifest as a desire to pursue multiple partners. Social media can also perpetuate unrealistic expectations and promote a culture of casual relationships.
3. Emotional and attachment issues: Some men may struggle with intimacy, attachment, or emotional regulation, leading them to seek validation and comfort through multiple relationships.
4. Lack of communication and commitment: Poor communication, unrealistic expectations, and a fear of commitment can contribute to a lack of satisfaction in a monogamous relationship, leading some men to seek excitement elsewhere.
5. Personal growth and self-awareness: Some men may simply not have developed the self-awareness, emotional intelligence, or relationship skills necessary to navigate a healthy, monogamous relationship.

It's essential to remember that these factors can vary widely across individuals, and not all men struggle with monogamy. Additionally, women can also face similar challenges.

Ultimately, building a fulfilling, monogamous relationship requires effort, commitment, and communication from both partners.

Live happily without working keh🤣🤣🤣🤣
It's house rent, fueling (car & gen) and utility bill (Band A) that will consume all those money in a month.
Nigeria economy is shabby and he should consider a lot of things too. He can still be managing UK because there is still hope there. while he invest in Nigeria wisely, he can now come back in his 50's he will then have something to back himself up, he just need to be investment wise. Uk system still work compare to Nigeria system
As for me I earn 250k and am trying to survive. You better stay back and live happily there. You can travel down to Nigeria for vacation though

Jobs/VacanciesShould I Relocate To Lagos Or Focus On Remote Job? by Rubyjade(op): 11:23am On Mar 06, 2025
From DM
But my confusion now is that, I received another offer of 350k in Lagos and I just accepted a remote work of 350k last week.
I would've loved to combine the two but considering my eyes issues, working from 8am to 10:30pm won't be healthy for me.
So now please should I just focus on the remote work of 350k or should I relocate to Lagos from Niger State for the new offer of 350k ?

Jobs/VacanciesRe: Should I Take This Job? by Rubyjade: 10:54am On Mar 06, 2025
Bro, I was in this situation some years back, this was what worked for me: I hope it helps you make a good decision.

It’s completely understandable to feel uncertain about resigning from a familiar job, even when a better-paying opportunity comes along. The fear of the unknown is natural, but making a well-informed decision can help you move forward with confidence. Here are some of the things to consider before making your final decision:

1. Compare the Job Offers Beyond Salary
While the salary increase (from ₦218k to ₦400k) is significant, you may need to evaluate:
- Job Security: How stable is the new company? Have you researched their financial health and work culture?
-Career Growth: Does this new job offer better long-term career prospects, professional development, or leadership opportunities?
-Work Environment: If possible, speak to a current or former employee to understand the workplace culture and management style. (You can use LinkedIn to search)
-Benefits & Perks: Compare other benefits like bonuses, leave policies, pension, health insurance, and job flexibility.

2. Assess the Risks
-Consider your current workplace: Are you truly satisfied, or are you staying because of fear? Are there future growth opportunities, or will you remain at this level for a long time?
-If your concern is about getting fired shortly after joining, review the employment contract for probation terms and exit clauses.

3. Prepare a Backup Plan
If you decide to take the new job:
-Ensure you have savings (at least 3–6 months of expenses) in case things don’t go as expected
-Maintain good relationships at your current job in case you need to return or use them as a reference.
-If possible, request a written offer letter before resigning to secure your position.

4.Trust Your Skills and Take Calculated Risks
You mentioned that both jobs are in your career line, so transitioning should not be a problem. Growth often requires stepping out of your comfort zone. While the saying "the devil you know is better than the angel you don’t know" is common in Nigeria, also remember that staying in a place due to fear can limit your growth. Many successful professionals took risks, but they ensured those risks were calculated.

*My Final thought:
If the new offer provides better financial stability, career advancement, and job satisfaction, it’s worth considering. However, ensure you have clarity on the company's stability, work culture, and expectations before making the switch.

All the best bro
