nlfpmod: Some Nigerians who live abroad now get lesson teachers for their kids from Nigeria to help boost their children's grades in school.
The lesson is done online via zoom.
What do you think about this kind of style? They are helping reduce unemployment in Nigeria. I would one day write as Nigerian on diaspora are shipping jobs from abroad to Nigeria. |
Jobs/Vacancies › This Is Why You're Stuck, Jobless, And Frustrated. by Rubyjade(op): 10:10am On Feb 17, 2025 |
This Is Why You're Stuck, Jobless, and Frustrated.
That got your attention, right? Keep reading…
Most of you scrolling through this right now don’t realize that your next big opportunity—whether it's a job, a gig, or even a life-changing breakthrough—could come from someone you already know.
But here’s the problem: you don’t truly understand networking.
When you think of "networking," The first thing that often comes to your mind is meeting new people, attending events and exchanging phone numbers.
Wrong. That’s surface-level networking.
Real networking isn’t about collecting contacts—it’s about nurturing connections.
The people in your life—your former colleagues, classmates, mentors, and even your friends—already know your skills, your potential, and your growth. They can open doors for you that a stranger never could.
So, how do you tap into this?
1. Stay in touch before you need something.
Stop only reaching out when you're in crisis mode. A simple “Hey, how have you been?” or “I saw your recent work—amazing job!” goes a long way. Relationships should be built on genuine interest, not desperation.
2. Be a giver, not just a taker.
Networking isn’t a one-way street. Share opportunities, offer help, and be useful before you even think of asking for favors. The more value you provide, the more doors open for you without you even knocking.
3. Celebrate their wins.
When someone in your network gets a promotion, launches a project, or achieves something big—show up for them. Congratulate them, share their success, and let them know you see their growth.
4. Make networking a lifestyle.
It doesn’t have to be a formal, forced process. Catch up over coffee, send a quick check-in message, or support their work online. It’s the little things that keep relationships alive.
The Bottom Line?
Your next opportunity is already within reach. You don’t need a magic formula—just start valuing, nurturing, and engaging with the people already in your circle.
Because when you build real relationships, you won’t have to chase opportunities. They’ll come to you. |

Jobs/Vacancies › Re: Which Opportunity Should I Go For? by Rubyjade: 12:05am On Feb 11, 2025 |
What a complex and nuanced decision! Firstly, kudos to you for being part of a prestigious football club and being recognized for your leadership skills as secretary. Now, let's weigh the pros and cons of each option: *Option A: Working with the wealthy hotel owner* Pros: 1. Potential for a stable income and benefits (e.g., accommodation) 2. Opportunity to manage a business and gain experience 3. Backing of the chairman, who seems to have a good relationship with the owner Cons: 1. Uncertainty about the specific role and responsibilities 2. Possibility of being tied to the hotel, with limited flexibility 3. Dependence on the owner's goodwill and decisions *Option B: Working with the solar installation entrepreneur* Pros: 1. Opportunity to learn a valuable skill and gain experience in a growing industry 2. Potential for a stable income and benefits 3. Working with a younger, more dynamic entrepreneur who may offer more flexibility and opportunities for growth Cons: 1. Concerns about the entrepreneur's reputation and potential for conflict 2. Risk of being accused of misconduct or theft if things go wrong 3. Uncertainty about the specific role and responsibilities Considering your concerns and priorities, here are some thoughts: 1. *Reputation and integrity*: Option A seems to offer a more stable and secure environment, with less risk of reputational damage. However, Option B could provide valuable skills and experience, which might outweigh the risks. 2. *Personal growth and development*: Option B seems to offer more opportunities for learning and growth, which might be essential for your long-term career goals. 3. *Financial stability*: Both options seem to offer a stable income, but Option A might provide more benefits and perks. Ultimately, the decision depends on your priorities, risk tolerance, and personal values. You may want to consider the following: 1. Have an open and honest conversation with both parties to clarify expectations, roles, and responsibilities. 2. Assess the potential risks and mitigants for each option. 3. Reflect on your long-term career goals and how each option aligns with them. 4. Seek advice from trusted mentors or professionals in your network. Which option do you think you're leaning towards, and what are your main concerns? Lakebib: I have two job opportunities and I'm a bit confused on the one to go for. I'm part of a club of all stars footballers, that is mature men that love playing football, while I'm 32 I'm still by the far the youngest amongst them and also not financially in their bracket. It's more like a privilege being in their midst. Due to how I carry myself I was elected as secretary of the club. Now here's the dilemma.
The chairman and patron of the club noticed that I've been struggling financially, the chairman helps me to pay some of the dues. While I have a 50k job that I do remotely we all know how the economy is right now so they've been making efforts to fix me up somewhere.
Option 1: They approached the richest man in the club though he's not really active, the man owns many businesses and hotels in town, he asked them to give him time to think over it. I met him yesterday and he said he wants to hand off the bar in his hotel to me because it's being mismanaged by the girls there, more like the workers in the bar would be under me. But he's still trying to arrange for an room for me there so I can be sleeping there then go home in the morning. Another option is to audit his other business which I can be doing from a separate office, while the 3rd option is about another place that he's yet to open because it's still under construction so I would probably manage it after completion, I don't know the details of that one. He asked me to give him a week so he will decide on the best option that would suit the both of us.
Option 2: Another well to do member was also contacted though he's much younger probably mid to late 40s. He's into solar installation and a well connected man. He's offering to pay me to work for him while I also learn the trade. He's also aware that I'm talking to the first man. When he was contacted he first asked how much the first man was offering to pay me, we told him that we haven't reached an agreement yet.
Now the issue is that the chairman prefers option A because the man is an elder and an already established man that won't give me issues. The second man is widely known to be arrogant and a bragat, if I run any side hustle and get some money he will likely accuse me of stealing or if I establish something else he will go around telling people that I stole his money to establish my business. Dealing with him is difficult and he would tarnish my image if anything goes wrong.
On the other hand, the patron thinks that option B is better because I will pick up a valuable skill while getting paid. Also the second man is younger and a hustler so I will learn a lot of things from him.
While I would prefer option B, I a bit skeptical about dealing with the man because I wouldn't want anything that will ruin the reputation that I'm building up, I'm 32 years and time is going fast so please I need your opinions on the matter. |

He has allegedly been using his noise making tactics to seek financial support from some foreign organizations in the name of activism. He is more corrupt than any politician you can think of. That's why Nigerians see him as a JOKER. This is what most Nigerians don't know. |

bixton: Why don't you first attend the interview and do your best that you pass it .
Also note that as a marketer in a bank, your core responsibility is to ensure that you have clients, customers who would keep a running account with the Branch of the Bank you are employed in and most importantly, you are their account officer. Nevertheless, the bank will organize a training to give you an idea of what the real work is in achieving the bank's set goals and objectives. Note that your ability to maintain that capital base of your customers is what will really ensure the bank retains you in the coming years. With a higher pay you may likely get more problems that money can solve or you can decide to have a good savings and maintain a low budget and live happily. With a low salary, you'll have problems you may not likely able to solve which will plunge you into more thinking and if care is not taken some unhealthy form of depression.
Lastly, whatsoever decision, you take please ensure you have spoken to God about it on the route to take at this point in time.
Whatever God tells you is always better than the best or what the eyes can see. |
Jobs/Vacancies › Re: Employment : I Lost My Job by Rubyjade: 3:14pm On Jan 30, 2025 |
Losing a job can be a devastating experience, and it's normal to feel low and down. It's like a punch to the gut, and it can be hard to catch your breath.
Firstly, please know that you're not alone. Many people have gone through similar experiences and have come out stronger on the other side.
It's amazing that you're turning to faith and prayer during this challenging time. May God indeed grant you joy in your heart and peace that surpasses all understanding.
Remember that this too shall pass. You will get through this, and you will come out stronger. You've survived tough days before, and you can do it again.
Take some time to grieve and process your emotions, but also remember to be kind to yourself. You got this!
Here are some encouraging scriptures to meditate on:
- "For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." - Jeremiah 29:11 - "And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose." - Romans 8:28 - "The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit." - Psalm 34:18
Keep your head up, and know that better days are ahead. You're strong, capable, and loved.
