Everything we are enjoying today is a result of practical application of these things you think were a waste of time

Just because we use finished products, we no longer appreciate the roots.
Most of the technologies we use today have their roots in these Mathematical concepts.
The artificial intelligence many people now use for has its foundation in training a model to learn and the principle is based on linear equation Y = mX + C , quadratic equation (logistics regression) and calculus for back propagation and gradient descent. The basics of generative AI such as chat GPT is Attention Mechanism which is all about vector algebra.
Please o allow your wards to learn those mathematics concept with passion who knows, they may discover new things

OP Please add this one. It happened in my village.

After the traditional marriage in the bride's village it was time to return to the grooms village, the bride went with the bus that brought the guests. Because there was no more space and the groom wanting to satisfy the invited guests decided to join his two friends in a bike back home. it was late in the night and their bike had a collision with another bike and they (the groom and two friends) all died.
