Lam, who was arrested in Miami after traveling there from Los Angeles on a private jet, was renting multiple homes in Miami, according to the filing. One mansion he rented there cost $68,000 per month, the filing said. Lam, had also purchased a watch for $2 million and a Lamborghini Revuelto for more than $1 million, prosecutors said. But “many of Lam’s vehicles have not been located as of yet, such as his Pagani Huayra that he purchased for $3,800,000,” prosecutors wrote. In all, Lam “admitted to purchasing 31 luxury automobiles, 22 of which have yet to be recovered by law enforcement,” prosecutors wrote. Lam “also admitted to doing additional hacks and making millions from those separate cryptocurrency fraud schemes, which he states have supported his entire lifestyle since arriving in the United States in October 2023,” prosecutors wrote. “The three vehicles Serrano admitted to purchasing have also not yet been located.” Federal government surveillance captured Lam on “a spending spree of the victim’s assets,” which included sightings of him “at Los Angeles nightclubs ... and gifting handbags valued at tens of thousands of dollars,” a court filing says. Management at L.A. nightclubs told investigators that Lam tried to pay his tabs in cryptocurrency “and was spending approximately $400,000-$500,000 per night,” the filing said. One receipt from an L.A. club showed Lam spent ”$569,528.39 in one night,” the filing said. After Serrano was arrested at Los Angeles International Airport on Sept. 18, when he returned from the Maldives with his girlfriend, an FBI agent interviewed that woman, who denied knowledge of Serrano’s involvement in crimes, according to a court filing. “The interviewing FBI Agent told her that the only way to make the situation worse would be for her to call Serrano’s associates and tip them off to the arrest,” the filing noted. “Immediately after leaving the interview' Serrano’s girlfriend promptly called his criminal associates, tipped them off to his arrest, and these associated in turn deleted their Telegram accounts and all incriminating evidence included in saved chats,” the filing said. “To date, approximately $70,000,000 has been recovered or frozen on various exchanges,” prosecutors wrote in a court filing. “Even considering the millions of dollars that Serrano and his co-conspirators spent on automobiles and jewelry, well over $100,000,000 remains unaccounted for.” Serrano had about $20 million of the victim’s stolen bitcoin on his phone, and agreed to transfer those funds back to the FBI, according to a court filing.

Two young men accused of committing one of the largest person-to-person crypto thefts in U.S. history went on a brazen spending spree that included buying exotic cars and a $2 million wristwatch, renting mansions and running up nightclub tabs of hundreds of thousands of dollars apiece, new court records reveal. The men, Malone Lam, 20, and Jeandiel Serrano, 21, conspired last month to steal the cryptocurrency funds from a person in Washington, D.C., according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Columbia. After disguising their theft by spreading the money between several cryptocurrency exchanges and mixing services, the authorities said, the men went on their spending spree. Mr. Lam, a citizen of Singapore who operated under aliases including “Anne Hathaway,” and Mr. Serrano, who went by “VersaceGod," were arrested by the F.B.I. on Wednesday. Month before they were arrested, Serrano, Lam and other, unnamed, co-conspirators targeted a man in Washington "because they believed he held a considerable amount of virtual currency" after they "identified him as a high net-worth investor from the early days of cryptocurrency," court filings say. In early August, one co-conspirator caused an "unauthorized Google account access" notification to be sent to the victim, making it appear that the purported access attempts had occurred overseas, a court filing said. "In reality, this was just the conspirators laying the groundwork for their imminent theft through sophisticated social engineering," prosecutors wrote in a filing. On Aug. 18, members of the conspiracy called the man, claiming they were from Google's security team, and asking him about the recent unauthorized access attempts. "Through a series of prompts and misrepresentations," the co-conspirators managed to manipulate the man into giving them enough information to access his Google drive, "where they quickly located personal financial information, including the location of his virtual currency holdings with Gemini," a crypto exchange, a filing said. Serrano and other scheme participants then called the man back and Serrano posed as a member of Gemini's support team, prosecutors said. While he talked to the victim, Serrano and his co-conspirators were communicating with each other on the Discord and Telegram messaging apps, strategizing on ways to "manipulate the victim into providing private keys to his virtual currency holdings and enough computer access for the conspirators to steal his entire savings," the filing said. The schemers then duped the man into downloading a program onto his computer to protect his Gemini holdings. But the program actually gave the co-conspirators real-time access to the victim's desktop, according to prosecutors. "Serrano was eventually able to manipulate the victim into opening files with private keys to over 4,100 Bitcoin," the court filing said. "While Serrano continued to manipulate the victim, his co-conspirator used this access to quickly steal the entirety of the victim's virtual currency holdings." Prosecutors said the co-conspirators split the theft's proceeds five ways. The schemers then used "sophisticated money laundering techniques to hide the proceeds and mask their identities," a court filing alleges. Serrano created an account on TradeOgre.com and deposited $29 million worth of cryptocurrency, "believing it to be clean and successfully laundered," the filing said.

kunle4toyeyaho:chief of defence staff might be superior officially to the Army chief...But you and I know that the chief of army staff is more prominent than Chief of defence. You will likely hear more about the chief of army staff than chief of defence staff. |
VinnyBaba:definitely because of a likely new chief of army staff... |
GBTYO:In science there is no such thing as original idea. Scientists don’t steal their predecessors’ works, they verify them, extend them and improve upon them. For instance Newton did not discover gravity. He simply used math to describe his observations about objects at rest, falling objects and for every action there is an equal & an opposite reaction. Newton then used math to explain why the moon orbits the earth and doesn’t fly off into space. Scientists before Newton have made this observations. In the 4th century BC, the Aristotle (the Greek Philosopher) believed that there was no effect or motion without a cause. The same idea of Newton’s 1st Law. the Roman engineer and architect Vitruvius!around 10Bc states that gravity is not dependent on a substance’s weight but on the nature of the substance a concept we understand today as specific gravity. Elon Musk SpaceX’s Falcon rocket is based on Russian scientist Konstantin Tsiolkovsky 1903 rocket equation. The same equation had been derived in 1813 by the British mathematician William Moore. Albert Einstein, said that “he stood on the shoulders of James Clerk Maxwell , it doesn’t mean that he stole his work. that means that Maxwell’s work was a prerequisite and inspiration for his work. The mathematic foundations for special relativity were worked out between 1891 and 1905, before Albert published his papers. Other scientist like lorentz and Goerge fitzgerald have worked on it. Which is why the special relative transformations is known as lorentz transformation. But Lorentz had no idea what the formula meant, how the mathematics said something about the physical world... Albert modified the mechanics of momentum and energy. He also recognized galilean space time have to be modified. That idea of what the mathematics actually means in the world was Einstein’s contribution, not Lorentz’s. The issue about Albert Einstein stealing his wife "Maric's" idea has already been debunked. After his death or after they divorced did his wife discover any physics theory? Maric was not a talented physicist or mathematician. She failed her final examinations and was never granted a diploma. |
GBTYO:where is onistha? |
GBTYO:sinwar was a monster...man killed people for fun. Him fighting for the palestines doesnt making him any better. |
uunwanaobong3:iran support for HAMAS has been there since Arafat agreed a peace deal with Israel. Iran believes in islam unity/caliphate in the middle east. They believe the only obstacle in achieving this goal is Israel. Iran support for hamas is not out of sympathy but for achieving their Khomeinist movement/muslim brotherhood doctrine in middle east. Like yahya Sinwar once said " the land belongs to the muslims" he didnt mention Palestine but "Muslims". |
uunwanaobong3:bro you seem to act like you are well informed on the middle east issues but not very much. By the time of iraq/iran war both sides had financial/military supports from other countries. You are aware israel supplied weapons to Iran? China, north korea and even u.s supplied at one time to iran. Most iran weapons today are reversed engineering on soviet, israeli missiles and china weapons. Talking about sanctions, during the 6 days israel/arab war are you aware there was an arm embargo/sanction on israel. Yet Israel found a way around it. Now the reason i mentioned Operation opera earlier, the same likely obstacles israel faced back then in entering into Iraq's airspace and carrying out a successful hit, Is the same obstacles or conditions playing out today in order for israel to carry out a successful hit on iran by air. Israel's airforce is renowned for carrying out daring air raids /attacks by evading radar systems/gathering intels...Distance isnt really an issue for israel. Askef yourself how Hamas Haniyeh was killed in iran. So Iran knows very well israel can hit at any time. The plan is already on. |
uunwanaobong3:have you heard of Operation Opera....During the Glory days of iraq, iran na baby for military. Infaçt iran's main reason for harming herself is for a fight against Iraq. It was Ayatollah that changed course to Israel, the main target of the muslim brotherhood. Yet israel found a way to enter Iraq's air space then the most fortified airspace in the world. Under-estimate israel's airforce at your on peril. The sole reason U.S / Russia are both warning israel against attacking iran's nuclear facility is due to enviromental hazards nothing more. The only thing iran can boost is missiles / air defence systems that are not yet tested. Iran keeps changing the location of their air defence system due to the fear of Israel's intel. |
Bayelsa had the worst leaders in nigeria. Endless looting. When he wants to run for office they will show skill acquisation centre constructed by the governor. |
Sinwar was very brutal not sure his brother can come close. |
shoodboi2:meaning putin and hitler are all cowards...leaders are different. If Sinwar had an official office like netanyahu he will probably be alive today. When netanyahu was fighting as a soldier sinwar was probably in his father's house. Netanyahu's exploit as a soldier no single hamas or hezbollah leader can compare. The man has fought and paid his dues defending his homeland, he came out alive unlike sinwar. |
Safyqueen:when science started in egypt was it an islamic nation?? Or they were idol worshippers. Talk about islamic nations of today. Only few are waking up from extremist religion worship and they are progressing. How many times have you heard of any terrorist attack in U.A.E, bahrain, Saudi Arabia and kuwait? |
nairalee:after the war on the battle ground...they raid villages and put heavy tax on them. |
Ikaeniyan0:if you are slow to get the joke, leave am. |
[sub][/sub]9This man....The most genuine lebanese out there. Lebanon a traditionally Christian country, which was once described as the Switzerland of the Middle East (many compared Beirut to Paris) and which today lives in poverty, with an ever-increasing exodus of Christians, largely driven by incessant Muslim immigration, which has made Islam the majority religion in the country. Same thing they did to israel 1000s years back and claiming they owned the lands and calling themselves palestines meanwhile they are actually arabs. |
Oando joins whatsapp group..I guess this is the reason for the recent recruitment by chevron/nnpc. |
