Travel › A Checklist For Business Travellers In Nigeria by rummeh(op): 1:02am On Jul 27, 2016 |
Checklist for Business Travellers At the top of every business traveller’s struggle list is the query “How can I pack all the essential things but with as like luggage as possible?” You set out thinking you have everything you need but then just when you arrive at your destination, you realize you forgot an essential item like an electronic gadget or your toiletries. The key to travelling light but with all the important stuffs you’ll need during your business trip is by creating a checklist covering your essentials. Create a list that helps you remember to pack only the most important things. Are you planning a business trip within the confines of Nigeria or overseas? This checklist is just as applicable and useful for anyone setting out from Lagos to Port Harcourt to close a local business deal or for people flying out of the country to attend business meetings or conventions. For major tips on organising a business travel checklist; here are some of the things to look out for: Get a carry-on sized bag: Most business travellers stick to using carryon luggage only. It saves time and reduces the risk of losing your luggage. It is extremely uncomfortable to arrive at your business destination without your work clothes. You don’t have to check your luggage in or wait for it at the other end. Clothing: A business traveller’s wardrobe tends to be a lot more conservative. Accessories and catchy outfits are kept at a minimum. A number of factors affect the type and amount of clothing you will need for a trip, stick to packing appropriate business attire that can also play a double role for both meetings and dining out and stick with just a few casual outfits for your free time. Packing: The best packing method for your carryon luggage is the Bundle Wrapping Method. You will be surprised by how much of your outfits will be able to fit into your carryon luggage. Roll softer fabric and fold stiffer fabrics. You can also use garment carrier bags when travelling with suits. Ensure you pack and arrange your items strategically, it saves you valuable time and hassle when going through security. Travel documents and money: Keep your travel documents organized and in as safe place while travelling. Travel organizers are perfect for storing your travel documents while on the move. Extra copies of your travel documents should be kept separately at all times as you are likely to need some of these items for your journey: Electronics and Gadgets: Ensure that your carryon luggage allows you easy access to your laptop, as you have to remove it from your bag when going through airport security. Every business traveller takes a small mobile office along on trips. This includes your mobile phone, laptop, iPad and charger, e-book reader, extension cord or plug Adaptor. Invest in good quality wheeled carryon luggage for business travels, it helps you stay organized and makes it easier for you to work while travelling. Toiletries: Minimize the amount of toiletries you put in your carryon bag as much as possible but take the necessary things like your hygiene products and antibacterial wipes, insect repellent or sunscreen lotion. When arranging, keep your toiletry bag at the top of your carryon bag for easy access. Put all liquids in the right size of containers (less than 100 ml. is the current regulation) and should be in separate clear plastic bags. Follow TSA regulations: The Transportation Security Administration screens all aircraft passengers and luggage prior to boarding a commercial aircraft. Restrictions on liquids, gels and aerosols may vary by destination, so, go to the website of your departure airport for information before packing. Packing for a business trip doesn’t have to be such a herculean task. By preparing in time and sticking only to the essentials, you can focus solely on the trip. Nairaland General › Re: Man And Old Homeless Woman In Abuja Pictured by rummeh: 9:11am On Jul 06, 2016 |
dainformant: A young man identified as Ichie Agbalanze did the unusual after his encounter with an aged homeless woman in Abuja. After helping the old woman by buying some edibles for her, the young man went extra miles by also joining her to beg for alms... May God bless him abundantly.
Below is what he shared on his page;
We can't lose hope in humanity! Never! Just a little more care can heal the world!
I was on my way to catch up an appointment this afternoon when I saw this homeless mother by the market roadside begging alms... I noticed how everybody ignored her pleas for alms and I hid behind a tree to record this video, Brothers and Sisters ignored her like she's a log of wood lying beside the road, no one gave her even a smile to pacify her soul... Pain and agony was written all over her as she continued regardless.
I went down to the market and bought few stuffs and I came back to meet her... I handed the stuffs over to her and I could read the excitement and cheers in her face as she kept saying things in her language which I don't understand. She opened what I bought for her and offered me some of it to eat with her, I ate with her as we took selfies and she laughed so hatd whenever I showed her a picture of herself, I decided to sit back with her and beg for alms.
We started begging for alms together and she was all smiles... People couldn't understand what was happening as I walked towards them and ask them to drop a penny for the old lady... It was crazy, it was fun and almost everyone I walked up dropped something in her plate, I spent almost an hour with her and I missed my appointment... But the Joy I gave and the Joy I received was way more important.
I counted the money we made and it was N1,200 (One Thousand Two Hundred Naira) I handed it over to her and bade her goodbye as she was left with all smiles and thanks. It was a moment to behold...that's why am sharing this one with you.
Just a little more love can heal the world. Moral of the story: Am I not mad?

Militant1: You and rummeh don't get the point am trying to make. Book haram problem is majorly a religious one brought on by a group of dull fanatical extremists buffons. The Biafra war was a culmination of political, economic, ethnic, cultural and religious tensions within the country. Is it just me feeling that the OP is mixing oil and water or is it the sleep I just woke up from. Oga na sleep eye... I'd suggest you read from the beginning including the comments.. And take note of the usernames then you can comment |

The Nigerian Civil War, also known as the Biafran War, (6 July 1967 – 15 January 1970), was a war fought to counter the secession of Biafra from Nigeria. Biafra represented nationalist aspirations of the Igbo people, whose leadership felt they could no longer coexist with the Northern-dominated federal government. The conflict resulted from political, economic, ethnic, cultural and religious tensions which preceded Britain's formal decolonisation of Nigeria from 1960 to 1963. Immediate causes of the war in 1966 included a military coup, a counter-coup, and persecution of Igbo living in Northern Nigeria. Control over oil production in the Niger Delta played a vital strategic role. Within a year, the Federal Military Government surrounded Biafra, capturing coastal oil facilities and the city of Port Harcourt. The blockade imposed during the ensuing stalemate led to severe famine—accomplished deliberately as a war strategy. Over the two and half years of the war, about two million civilians died from starvation and diseases. This famine entered world awareness in mid-1968, when images of malnourished and starving children suddenly saturated the mass media of Western countries. The plight of the starving Biafrans became a cause célèbre in foreign countries, enabling a significant rise in the funding and prominence of international non-governmental organisations (NGOs). Britain and the Soviet Union were the main backers of the Federal Military Government in Lagos, while France and some independent elements supported Biafra. France and Israel provided weapons to both combatants. http://www.newsdoggen.org/2016/07/on-this-day-49-years-ago-nigerian-civil.htmlcc: Seun, lalasticlala, OAM4J, Mynd44

Crime › Re: I Turn To A Woman At Night by rummeh: 8:07pm On Jul 05, 2016 |
Psoul: CONFESSION DURING DELIVERANCE: I TURN INTO A WOMAN AT NIGHT.
During deliverance, this man confessed to changing to a woman at night, goes out and ensure he sleeps with men.
“i turn into a woman at night and sleep with other men as a way and condition of my rituals to become rich and powerful during the day. When it's night, I do my rituals and then turn into a woman, go out and sleep with rich and powerful men whom I drain their wealth and very early in the morning, I turn back to my normal self as a man but I was surprised the other day I didn't turn back to my normal self fully. I tried all I could but I couldn't turn. This caused people to take me to the church for deliverance" he said.
WARNING
We are in the end time where people does all manner of things to make money and be powerful. And also to men that are consumed in immorality, keep carrying... Some of these women in mini skirts you see at night everywhere are fishes, snakes, animals and men as you can see here. May you be protected in Jesus name. engrjoseph208: I have been a guest on nairaland for 4 years. This is my first topic here. PLEASE DO NOT READ WITHOUT GIVING YOUR COMMENT, THANKS.
In December 2014, I met this beautiful woman while I was enjoying the xmas and new year festivals with my parents in Ibadan. She is schooling here but lives in Ogun state. I never thought we could go far, so I wanted to chop and clean mouth. I was serving at the time and I told her I was serving at Abuja instead of Kwara state. After my NYSC I told her I have settled down in Abuja instead of Oyo state. I have a well-paid job and live comfortably but everything is in Oyo state and not FCT. I didn’t want her to know I am living nearby because I didn’t see a future with her at the time. She didn’t appear to me as a good girl when we met, I thought she was a runs girl but now I know I was wrong, she is even more innocent than me and she gets all I crave for in a lady. Well, I picked her up by the roadside but I didn’t get to sleep with her but we became friends and she still thinks I served, live and work in FCT. We usually see when there is a festivity or holiday like easter, xmas etc. under the pretext that I came to celebrate with my parents. Anyways, I want to propose to her now. I don’t know how to tell her the truth because we are now in love and I do not want to lose her. PLEASE NAIRALANDERS HOW DO I GO ABOUT THIS WITHOUT LOSING HER. What if she dy nairaland ?? |
