We don't have any indian there. Those are 3rd generation Kenyans of indian origin. You see unlike South Africa or Nigeria - there is no oil field or gold mine - one can grab or bribe and just become a billionaire like in Nigeria.Still they are many Africans who are making serious money in Kenya.

The difference though - our politics is peaceful - and our elite don't stash their money abroad alot like Sani Abacha - so that money is pretty much in circulation.

I think if Uhuru pulls the universal health Insurance (ensuring everyone has NHIF - and NHIF covers in/outpatient & all treatment) - then he would have pulled out 5-10% of kenyans out of poverty - in 5 yrs. Every yr about 2% of our people sink to poverty because of misfortune of having one or two family members hospitalized.

If NHIF can be able to control say 1$B annually in premiums - then that would provide huge & regular financing to public and private hospitals - and we will see huge investment all over the country in hospitals. There will be no need to turn away anybody from an hospital (except maybe foreigners) or to hold onto them until they pay.

Of the big 4 - I am excited about this one - and I think it the easiest to pull. Manufacturing and Housing - are not easy stuff. Also Food Security is generally linked to poverty & there is very little we can do about semi-arid kenyans who will continue to starving - except accelerate social program - cash transfers.
