Very nice - for Lagos - but zoom out a little bit. samsobo24: |
Make my day - and get one picture of Lagos - that I can use as postcard. You slum metropolis don't impress me. I don't know about walker dude but I was here and then you had really bad pictures..now I see you can at least afford a decent camera - but take pictures of lagos - as shitty as it is. Your city is damn . shiet all your musicians ran to South Africa or Dubai to shoot music videos. obaaderemi: |
Angola has less oil - but they can teach you alot - how to transform dirty crude oil to modern cities. Luanda is slowly emerging as the Rio of Africa. https://cdn.thecrazytourist.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/03/Saint-Michael-Fortress.jpg |

We did this some few days ago - Joburg, Cairo,Capetown, Luanda, Nairobi, Lagos+Eko City. Just visit Luanda the rio of Africa - just like Nairobi is the London of Africa - and see how you guys are totally super bigly screwed. Daejoyoung: |
Are we going to again do the number of Skyscrapper in Africa cities. Both Nairobi and Luanda beat Lagos. Let not repeat this. Be ashamed that you've wasted all your OIL. It been what - 3 days - since we posted the number of skycrappers - Luanda has surpassed Nairobi - LAGOS metroslum including Eko City has 10 skycrapper to catch up with Nairobi - which is impossible because Nairobi is just about started. |
Luanda baby - as you dream about Eko City - one building a decade - these africans are making us proud. But Naija like their cousin the African americans are just the scum of earth - totally cursed. https://www.orangesmile.com/common/img_cities_original/luanda-nobo26-7.jpg |
Dude thanks goodness for pictures. Luanda is I admit now better than Nairobi. Thank goodness they speak portuguese - so we are just hanging in there as the 3r or 4th - definitely after Cairo and Joburg. The slum metropolis of LAGOS and KINSHASA don't count. https://static.brusselsairlines.com/_img/destinationPage2/Africa/Angola/Luanda-city.jpg See what OIL has done to Luanda...just imagine what it could have done to Nigeria..if you were not the scum of the earth? More picture of Luanda - YOU CANNOT FAKE THESE THINGS. https://dailypost.ng/wp-content/uploads/2017/06/Luanda.jpg https://magazine.luxevile.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/destaque2-750x410.jpg obaaderemi: |
Dream on. Visit Angola's Luanda if you don't like Nairobi and see what 10yrs of Oil can do - then go back to Nigeria and ask where 50yrs of Oil has gone. Don't even delude yourself about Cairo or Joburg.Luanda in 10yrs has 50 sky-scrappers(100M talk building) completed - about twice what you got in 50yrs. Always remember Nairobi is way nicer than Lagos can dream about. https://farm1.staticflickr.com/822/39393570930_9bc9216da2_o.jpg https://pbs.twimg.com/media/DSeWLIlWAAEBcpl.jpg Then wait for Dangote to do everything that your gov has been unable to do 60yrs since independence. Danielnino00: |
Today Kenya picked four pilot counties where Universal Health Insurance will be rolled out. If we manage to pull out this universal health insurance coverage - that is huge investment in public health that will quickly pay off- and will lift at least 2% of people out of poverty every year - these are households that get driven to poverty due to spending on health every year. frer8: |
The entire country faith and hopes lies in one man. DANGOTE. nwoke37: |
You have OIL - the raw material for plastic - and stuff like bitumen - you have nearly 3% of global OIL - so dude you've FAILED FAILED AND FAILED to use OIL. Kenya with zero oil export petrochemical products. Your OIL industry has ZERO VALUE chain. Shell come and extract crude oil - pump it - to US - and you import refined oil (more expensive). I mean is there any country in the entire universe worse than you guys!!!!!!!!!!!! You are in zero sum game - you import about 270 barrels of refined oil daily ---that is a lot of dollars!!! - that you can easily save. Kenya a country without any mineral of serious value import about 90-100K barrels daily (1/3 of Naija) but we have never had fuel shortage or had to queue to buy oil. Nor do our gov SUBSIDIZE our petrol. nwoke37: |
Nobody come here shouting about plastic manufacturing - like it's a big deal. obaaderemi: |
Yeah I'll concede that - Kenya public health sector had been left to donors for far too long - and now it when gov is massively investing in it. Universal health coverage. Uhuru first trip in his second term was Cuba.We want to learn how the communist poor Cuba has done it - and then try replicate this. Give us 5 yrs and comeback - and you'll see PROGRESS. Unlike Nigeria - we don't bury our head in the sand...we acknowledge we got a problem and we work on it. But please note - physician density is nothing - when Nigeria has yet to eliminate polio and basic stuff like immunization - we are doing way better in so many other indicators - maternal death, mortality - infant and such. https://i0.wp.com/www.update.co.ke/wp-content/uploads/2018/03/Uhuru-and-Castro.jpg http://www.who.int/gho/health_workforce/physicians_density/en/ obaaderemi: |
And that is now arriving in Nigeria and you're very proud of it. Why not try ceramic.nwoke37: |
Did you say plastics? Why would you be happy with plastic? When Kenya became amongst the proud countries to have banned plastic bags. We actually have the world toughest plastic ban - if found with plastic bag - prepare to pay well about 10M Naira or 40K usd. And here you're happy with more plastic - when will Nigeria ban plastic bags. nwoke37: |
Share the link. And this maybe true - however we are doing something about it - our president just cameback from Cuba and we will be taking 150 cuban doctors - plus massively investing in universal health care - the last few years we bought medical equipments worth 350MUSD from generic electric - ensuring more than 100 hospital have the latest in theatre. In the meantime I really doubt Nigeria health sector is better than Kenya. obaaderemi: |
So because we have 43M mobile internet subscribers who enjoy some of the world best internet speed - we can therefore declare our GDP from telcom sector to be half Nigeria - mms 50B - so ours give and take is 25B dollars worth of GDP from telcom- according to Nigeria' bonobo of Stat (Yemi Kale- Statistician General). I guess if we use the same methodology elsewhere can officially declare our GDP to be 250B dollars!!!!!!!!!!!!! nwoke37: |
Kenya president is better than Nigeria's Buhari - who can barely string a coherent argument . Uhuru Kenyatta is IVY league alumni of Amherst college and Gen Buhari is an army bonobo.Daejoyoung: |
Maybe 200B max - Unless they counted the kola nuts on every kola tree in Nigeria.

|
Nigeria should prepare to send their kids to Utalii college as their local institution continue to collapse - Utalii is a world re-known school for hotel industry - producing some of the best chefs out there - and support Kenya tourism sector! https://3dwnh01icn0h133s00sokwo1-wpengine.netdna-ssl.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/05/proposed-ronald-ngala-utalii-college.jpg |
Thank goodness. Still I see you're issuing 500M euro-bond Why is the giant not borrowing 100B DOLLARS! What happened to the Nigerian ambition?Obi1kenobi: |
Agreed - lot more nigerians working and paying taxes - is the way to go! Please do not begging for 350M dollar loan from WB again! Obi1kenobi: |
Actually World Bank has some sense of humour. And your parliament really fell line, hook and sinker. You were looking for what $350MILLION loan. - Why can't mega nigerian banks loan that? But seriously why would you even talk about 350M dollars in your parliament! Breaking news! 500B dollar economy denied 350M dollar loan!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! - seriously that is small loan that can be issued to small company! Not even enough to gather for facility fee! Obi1kenobi: |
Those are facts. Why would any sane person lend to Nigeria. They will get repaid with what? Kola nuts? BIG NEWS - Nigeria get 500M EUROBOND - well some crazy folks actually gave you 0.5B dollars! I guess they won't mind a oil field or kola nuts. https://www.reuters.com/article/nigeria-eurobond/update-2-nigeria-raises-500-mln-via-15-year-eurobond-with-7-5-pct-yield-idUSL5N1H65SR Obi1kenobi: |
Ypu've been climbing up - now position 12-14 if am not wrong - as we climb down down and out - of sending forex to US and educating our own kIds. Nigeria is the 15th leading place of origin for students coming to the United States. Last year's increase was up nearly 20 percent from the previous year. Nigeria replaced Kenya in 2007-2008 as the only African country in the top 20 places of origin, where it has remained. https://www.voanews.com/a/nigeria-sends-most-african-students-to-u-s/4009119.htm Obi1kenobi: |
I bet all that FDI is just to extract more oil. Nothing outside the oil industry. And you know how that story ends. As for Eurobond - and other loans - why would any sane person lend Nigeria - what will you repay with? You have messily 36B(including state budget) for 200M people. You can even have GDP to DEBT ratio of 0% - but REVENUES - what will you repay with? Not kola nuts maybe you can give someone an oil field ![]() Kenya this year issued $2B eurobond - and they were offered $14B . I see Nigeria the 500B giant is struggling to issue 1B dollar euro-bond - at best $3B. Like really? Are you guys for real!Obi1kenobi: |
FACTS: Nigeria keep sending all the petro-dollars to US/UK/Australia to educate their sons- while Kenya has massively invested in their local universities and every year are sending fewer n fewer student abroad. Nigeria is the 15th leading place of origin for students coming to the United States. Last year's increase was up nearly 20 percent from the previous year. Nigeria replaced Kenya in 2007-2008 as the only African country in the top 20 places of origin, where it has remained. https://www.voanews.com/a/nigeria-sends-most-african-students-to-u-s/4009119.html In the meantime Strathmore University Kenya - student are using elevators https://eadb.org/wp-content/uploads/2015/08/starhmore-670x400.jpg https://www.familyperspective.org/nrbi/A0.jpg |
Nigeria is not improving things. Same with South Sudan. Somalia is trying. Ohoo yeah until 2008 - Kenyans send more student to US than Nigeria - those are facts. But we have improved things locally - and parents don't need to send students abroad! And you have seen pictures of the massive investment we have channeled to higher education. Now we have decided enough with universities - and are now investing massively on mid-level colleges - we realized we need technical workers to produce GDP ![]() Obi1kenobi: |
Whack theories...population has to be productive...otherwise if they are like Nigerian...they aint producing no GDP bro! Daejoyoung: |
We are making progress forward - unlike Nigeria that is regressing every year - we are moving toward South Africa level. Since 2008 - we were leading - but we decided not to ship ALL THAT FOREX OUT - but improve our universities and let kid study here - so every yr we are sending less and less kids out- and saving that forex which we invest in our own universities. 2017 - FOREX KAPUT The International Educational Exchange data released by the Institute of International Education (IIE) shows that there are 11, 710 Nigerian students currently pursuing their educational goals in the United States, an increase of 9.7% over 2016. Kenya ranks second among African countries with a total of 3189 students in the U.S. and Ghana comes in third with 3111 students. Overall, the number of African students in the United States climbed to 37,735, an increase of 6.7% from 2015/2016. Fifty six percent are pursuing undergraduate degrees and 28.7 % are involved in graduate studies. KENYA led until 2008 - when we woke up and started saving that forex - and investing locally!!!!!!! Wake up Nigeria. Daejoyoung: |
Sorry but Kenya has been fixing and improving things. Education - we use to send more student to US and rest than Nigeria (yeah giant of 200m!!) but from 2008 - we started investing massively in our universities...from 7 public universities and 4 private one a decade ag - we now have more than 60 universities!!! And Kenyans are not flying abroad to study - unless it's to IVY league schools. Enrollment has shot up from 50,000 to nearly 0.5M now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! See the last decade huge investment in Universities here - buying off Nairobi Skyscrappers for town campus - leave alone huge expansive campus where their main campus lies. Nairobi university - 20 floors https://dvcaf.uonbi.ac.ke/sites/default/files/centraladmin/dvcaf/UoN%20tower%20and%20fountain%20main%20campus_2.jpg Moi University Nairobi Campus - that whole building. https://campusnairobi.mu.ac.ke/images/bazaar.png Jomo Kenyatta Nairobi campus - that whole building belong to them. https://content.knightfrank.com/property/kecom025/images/e8660b90-c379-4a39-ae94-bd0a70b03853-0.jpg Mt Kenya University Nairobi Campus - https://www.myspotfinder.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/Nairobi-Campus-Mt-Kenya-University.png KEMU university https://www.the-star.co.ke/sites/default/files/styles/new_full_content/public/1101538.jpg?itok=SEa3OFwg Maseno University - Kisumu And so many skyscrappers in major towns owned by universities. .. Lagos and their Nairobi no be mate... And it's not just infrastructure alone... Lagos's pedigree on the continent as an economy powerhouse is rivaled only by Johannesburg and Cairo...
and you're very proud of it. Why not try ceramic.
