It dead on arrival.
Kenya has to pursue east africa strategy.
We focus on getting Ethiopia - we create 500M people market.
You can keep Africa Trade in Accra.
Ecowas doesnt even work. How will you make Africa free trade work.

Its only kenya that has been pushing for it - as it only africa country to trade 50 percent within africa.

Dead on arrival.

The logistics alone are crazy - what will work is Open Skies.

vaxx:
It wasn't a mistake , it was a contest between Accra and nairobi, but we know who took the shot at the end of the day. It is about soft power . Ethiopia already got africa union , rwanda is a nobody.

It will start when the rest of africa get ready to ratify their differences

You can ask pokuasi 😂🤣
He thought it was a first class residential area... Infact I myself was impressed when I went there last week by the level of development.... The mansions there, Nairobi will struggle to build

A Kenyan will consider himself lucky to live there

It was a mistake to locate afCFTA in broke Ghana. You dont even know what need to be done to get it going. And you dont have what it takes. That should have been taken to Rwanda or Nairobi or Adis.

The ideas that we now take as standards & for granted - we have to thank the French Revoluton of 1789 - when french peasant overthrew their king Louis, killed almost all the french elite and then defined a system that was going to be FAIR to everyone. This was the watershed moment for humanity.

From ChatGP

The French Revolution had a significant impact on human rights and constitutionalism, both in France and around the world. Here are some of the key ways in which it influenced these areas:

Declaration of the Rights of Man and of the Citizen: The French Revolution produced a landmark document, the Declaration of the Rights of Man and of the Citizen, which enshrined many of the principles of modern human rights. This document affirmed the equal rights of all citizens, including the right to liberty, property, security, and resistance to oppression.

Constitutions: The French Revolution gave rise to a series of new constitutions, which aimed to establish more democratic and representative forms of government. These constitutions often incorporated the principles of popular sovereignty and individual rights, and served as models for other countries seeking to create their own constitutions.

International impact: The French Revolution had a profound impact on the development of international law and human rights. It inspired the creation of the International Committee of the Red Cross, which works to protect the rights of prisoners of war and other vulnerable groups. The Universal Declaration of Human Rights, adopted by the United Nations in 1948, drew heavily on the principles of the French Revolution.

Civil liberties: The French Revolution helped to promote the idea of civil liberties, including freedom of speech, the press, and religion. These freedoms are now widely regarded as fundamental rights in modern democratic societies.

Separation of powers: The French Revolution played a key role in promoting the idea of the separation of powers, whereby different branches of government have distinct responsibilities and are able to check each other's power. This principle has become a cornerstone of modern constitutionalism.

Two different concepts.
Democracy
Decentralization/Devolution/Federalism

China has devolved dictatorship by CCP.Thankfully it mostly run by meritocracy.

Democracy at core is what French Revolution gave humanity - Personal freedoms, human rights and equality. -Liberty, Equality, Fraternity - Liberté, égalité, fraternité

There is nothing like that in China. You cant say or do or etc what you want.

But again like I said - that has not stopped them from developing - because it has a well run devolved system of gov based on merit.

Like USSR before - you can have efficient dictatorship - that quickly industralized Eastern Europe.

Jerry Rawling in Ghana run such a system - but culled anyone who disagreed with him.

Rwanda is now example of such an efficient dictatorship. You know better in Rwanda than talk politics - right from the airport you're being watched.

Just40:
You're very dumb

China is not a dictatorship.... Infact it is the most decentralized country on this entire planet effectively govern from the very local of levels.
It has more political parties in it congress than both houses of the US combined
PoliticsRe: Kenyans Are Far Behind Nigerians In Every Aspect – Fani-Kayode by rvp2018: 7:30pm On Apr 06, 2023
Or very strong federalism. Either another Sani Abacha or you allow States basically to act as independent countries like US - with federal gov in Abuja only dealing with foreign affairs.

Whatever is there is totally dysfunctional.

The cost of this project is far more than the cost of all projects in Kenya, and not even in Nairobi, and what makes it unique is that it is privately owned rather than being held by the government.

Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, Malaysia and of course most of middle east are example of dictatroship that transition into proper developed countries - and eventually build institutions.

Dictatorship has nothing to do with development. China is good example of great dictatorship that has developed.

They are NOT mutual exclusive.

Yes of course democratic strong independent institution is great on its own but a country will not go down for lacking one.

Ghana is good example - Jerry Rawlings - eventually transitioned you back into democracy - from military dictatorship.

Rwanda has certain peculiarities that make democracy now and in the future difficult - as minority Tutsi at 10 percent - will simply be killed by 90 percent majority Hutus like happen in 1960s (sending Kagame to Uganda as small boy refugee) and in 1990s.

Rwandese Tutsi have to find a formula of democracy that will work for them - popular vote is an existential threat to their very existence - and Kagame & his successor are likely to have tight control of institution - just like Isreal has to deal with Palestine in Isreal using crude methos.

vaxx:
So many things wrong bro, A developed economy don't build just strong men but strong institution, with strong men , the development only last when they are alive or with the power but with strong institution, the development last forever.

Using libya as an example , Libya was already a fully developed country when Gaddafi was in power, Gaddafi was so strong , he made Libya achieved almost all the millinium goals development agenda set by UNO way back early 2000 but libya failed and become a third world country after gaddafi died, Assuming it was strong institution libya built, the development agenda will have continued like what we have in UK, germany and western power, No matter who becomes a leader , there exist a pattern of development every leader must follow regardless of who you are. What africa needs is strong institution not strong men who keeps holding on to power as long as they care.

Strong men only last for a limited time , strong institution last forever .

There is nothing worthy of progress in Rwanda , if you talk about neatness , do you mean clearing all the homeless children and placing them in concentration camp is the way to go? When we can gradually build a formidable economy to absorb them all. There is poverty in rwanda more than Benin republic, rwanda is only hiding it(Kigali is not just Rwanda , Even kigali is not a standard city that can measure up to cotonou) .

Even in the street of london there exist homeless beggers , they aren't put in concentration camp like rwanda kigali , the economy gradually absorb them and they gradually reduce and off the street .

Stop believing in propaganda, nothing works there .

The largest rice mill in Africa was launched some time ago, the world's largest single train refinery will be finished this year, and the largest free trade zone in Africa, the Lekki free trade zone, is also under construction. I have gone to kigali and deep into rural Rwanda. Rwanda is real. The question of whether it can outlast Kagame is poignant. The same fate has befallen Ethiopia and South Africa. Yes, strong institutions are important. Kagame has done excellent job. He just need to find a succesor like him to the mantle forward.

Great leaders have a lifelong commitment to learning

Bill Gates

In the fall of 2008, I transitioned from being full-time at Microsoft to full-time at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. After decades of focusing maniacally on software, I finally had the time to get a better grounding in physics, chemistry, biology, and other sciences, which would help me in my work on health, education, and climate change. I was also curious about all these subjects for their own sakes. So, I looked around for the best science books and read as many of them as I could find. Weather for Dummies was one of 25 titles I chose:

Karen has the most powerful resident association - established in 1940s. For a long time, the min acreage was 5 acres - then 2 acres - now even 1/2 acre is allowed.

Karen, home to some of the high-flying figures in the country including playing host to official residence of Deputy President William Ruto, former prime minister Raila Odinga, former vice-president Kalonzo Musyoka, a large expatriate population, as well as wealthy Kenyans being among high-end home owners, is ranked in the league of the global real estates giants like Potsdamer Straße, Kurfürstenstraße and Gleisdreieck in Berlin, Germany and Sant’Ambrogio in Milan, Italy.

Fortunately this is not cantonment

I am yet to find anywhere in Kenya as good as this , what went wrong in Kenya?
PoliticsRe: Kenyans Are Far Behind Nigerians In Every Aspect – Fani-Kayode by rvp2018:
That is fair. Sometimes you can be reasonable. Magufuli had right intentions - he was just a fool when it come to running a country. He was a guy who knew nothing about economy. Good intentions. But high school science teacher with limited economic knowledge.

Running a country requires someone to read and understand how many things work.

For me I consider the late Meles Zenawi the epithome of Africa leader. Kagame and Museveni come next. Sankara maybe. I was not alive.

All of the three never really read much as they went to war early - Meles left meds school to go fight - Museveni immediately after BA in Dars - went to the bush - Kagame I doubt has a degree- In kenya - Mboya was also self-read.

What is important these are very serious leaders who are very committed to life long pursuit of learning.

Ohoo I forget definitely Mandela and Khama of Botswana. Those are greatest leaders in sub Sahara africa.

Mandela, Khama, Meles, Sankara? - all dead

I would personally rank 1) Nelson Mandela 2) Meles Zenawi. These were African leader the rest of world including her leadership would stop, listen and admire their intellect and leadership.

Mandela wins for being such a rare globally acclaimed charismatic leader while Zenawi wins for having highest IQ an African leader has ever possessed.

Kids should be taught about these heros - not Kwames or Nyerere or Jomos - who later betrayed their country or messed up.

Kazikazi:
I know Kagame to be one of the intelligent folks around east Africa or Africa. But Ruto,I think it's too early to judge.I will give him 1 year to see what he have done or achieve

Kenya is much worse on issues of protectionism. Ýou banned Ugandan milk, again you denied many Tanzanian businessmen a license to oparate in kenya. I remember this dude sometimes ago he told u guys how backward you are, denying him a space to expand his business into kenya.

This yesterday. IPPS havent been paid nothing despite the desperate attempt by ECG to collect debt. Where will you collect 1B dollars ? grin grin

And you broke gov cannot borrow.

Conclusion: Prepare for DUMSOR

https://www.myjoyonline.com/independent-power-producers-demand-payment-of-debts-or/
Independent Power Producers (IPPs) are demanding immediate payment of over one billion dollars owed them by the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG).

According to the IPPs, shutting down plants remains a viable option if debts are not settled.

ECG has in the last few weeks been embarking on an aggressive revenue collection drive geared at enabling it to raise the needed funds to run its operations and to settle its creditors.

Just40:
The same way you got a Bloomberg link, just use that se process and you'll see ECG mop up revenue while Ghana is fully powered
