it even has double lane expressway squeezed in.This problem when primitive strikes gold. This is Lego city that kids build with blocks to mimic a city.It just need miniature traffic lights at the zebra crossing every 5 meters...to become the famous Eldorado
gallivant: Give a toddler crayons and this is the thanks you will get!
indeed look at the crazy zebra crossing to nowhere..look like a kid painting or Lego city.not functional. It's only missed a traffic light to become a miniature city that kids draw
kikuyu1: I rmbr us explaining to these Genuises the new direct ship to rail off loading but they just couldn't understand. Anyway: Kenya has introduced the use of double stack trains to speed up the evacuation of cargo at the Port of Mombasa and deal with mounting congestion.
kikuyu1: No, I first heard in 2012 all the land from Kitengela from like 3 km either side of the highway had been bought from the original Masaai owners. Just individuals and chamas; no dynasties! Anyway, its INTERESTING in that its going to be a development corridor like the ORIGINAL Railway. Most of our population and associated developmemt is within 120 km neither side of the Old Meter Gauge Rail.
Same thing has happened with Thika Road: an entire economic corridor has grown along the 50 km route and will extend with the dualisation to Kenol and ultimately Nyeri town.
Real estate, transport and other biz has birthed millionaires !
The same process is happening along the 120 km Kitengela Namanga road. I, for one am eagerly awaiting the rebasing and hope it captures these new developments.
Dude, 3 DECADES from now economic historians will write how such developments helped us reach 1st world status! You read it here first.
I am doubtful about lapses.. . but wish we can work on superhighway from TZ border to Somalia border along the coast line. Our word class tropical coast will attractinvestment plus efficient ports and many rivers flowing into coast that can irrigatethe land. That is ripe for serious investment. Just build huge highway along the coastline.Lapset depend on discovery of minerals and such
Shaytun: You can read whatever the Bleep you want, this is not Kenya where such happen.
The facts on ground states otherwise.
Kenya gov advertise and hire international experts regularly .The head of our airports recently was a Norwegian .Private sector is color blind..profit driven
Shaytun: The Nigeria immigration service technology building commissioned today.
How is that supposed to serve 200m Nigerians .I bet it takes months to get passport. In Kenya you apply online, present your papers to nearest passport control and a week you a passport
In financial reporting I read it only had foreigners as the management team..the guys who really matter..not HR or Legal or PR .And so Dangote smarter than you.while you're shouting racist epithets...he has employed all white and Asian real mgt team.
vaxx: Kenya still has a lot of communities that has never see one iota of government presence. people there have to walk or travelled some mile just to benefit education, hospital care etc
it is a largely rural country. such a country can't compare itself with Togo
vankelvin: Anyone watching this will know you are not normal, something is wrong in your head.
How on earth will you compare these cheap old buildings to Accra Airport hills building's? Can't you see the difference?
Moreso your Buruburu is a fully developed settlement whereas Accra Airport hills is a new developing area. The apartments there are modern, beautiful and expensive.
You are funny
Even Sakumono Estate in Tema have beautiful apartments than your Buruburu estate
Economic development should manifest itself in good cities, towns, name it. You cannot look as bad as Ghana and claim to be developing. You can cook all the data - like Kim Jong - but surely a quick video or picture test is enough to show Ghana is hell hole.
Every year Ghana claims to grow as fast as Ethiopia - but there is nothing you see on the ground.
Look at Addis. This is now a modern city that can compete with Nairobi, Joburg, Durban, Capetown and Luanda in Sub-Sahara Africa. Lagos is a mess - but it would probably make it after Dar.
Buruburu are 3-4 bedroom town houses. Most of the houses are 1 storey. Airport is not at Nairobi level. It's at Nairobi Metro level - like 40kms from Nairobi like Joska or Kamulu. Nairobi city - there are no empty plots or unpaved roads.
Just30: This is a low income slum of poor 1 bedroom apartment.
There is nowhere in kenya that come even close to looking as good as Airport hills.
The Little Abuja - look at the inner city road right at CBD - unpaved. Remove the highway from Airport to Abuja and Aso rock - gov estates - and Abuja is crap.
Why not open the borders with Benin so Thailand, Vietnam and India rice can be imported. This is just state propaganda. Who created that pyramid of rice - and what for.
68816419: Rice Revolution Nigeria may not yet have attained food self-sufficiency , but efforts that have been put to boost food production are laudable. Almost every state has a new mill today and we have overtaken Egypt as the rice production capital of Africa. I see hope for Nigeria in the horizon.
jln115: Semenya is female..... But she has abnormally high testosterone(natural advantage) saying she can't compete against woman is like saying Usain bolt can't compete because his legs are to long.
