Hedonini: Why? I don't understand why you need to appeal to people to show up for work that they are paid to do.. What I want to see or hear about these bastard policemen is MASS RESIGNATIONS. If you feel endangered, unappreciated, aggrieved or whatever as a policeman, then RESIGN.
You can't keep drawing salaries from Nigeria's public funds, answering policeman, yet you are claiming that you don't want to work. God punish your generation. Resign and go and do any other job of you don't like police work again. Don't retain your redundant and useless self as an absentee policeman! see how you are wailing, who beat you? Salary will still come, last month own don drop, this month go drop too. You can hang yourself |

vanbonattel: We need the Nigerian police to return to our roads as soon as possible. Since they left, a lot of things have gone wrong.
There's nobody to collect bribes from motorists every kilometer of the highway. This has made the roads boring and uneventful.
There is no forced traffic jams anymore, the roads are now too smooth to drive on and this makes journeys that would have lasted 4 hours to be 1 hour. What kind of short journeys is that?
Since the police has gone out of our roads, traders are now loading their vehicles and travelling from market to their shops without incident, they are supposed to be stopped and delayed so they can pay bribes. This is not fair.
How can you travel on southern Nigeria roads without policemen to point guns at civilians? This is abnormal.
More people have been using their bikes freely without harassment of police, how dare them? We should bring back the police so that people will use their legs and trek.
There's no police to torture, harass, search the passengers on highways like the passengers are known armed robbers? This is strange indeed.
STATE POLICING WILL SAVE NIGERIA YOUTHS. your lies will be your end. I wonder the state that you are in, in Benin, boys now stand at the road collecting money from motorists. The traffic is terrible because of drivers driving one-way and refusing to obey traffic laws, soldiers collecting 1k from vehicles loading goods for market women at Benin expressway, daylight robbery at 3rd, upper, mission road and aduwawa, robbing of POS shops and stealing their POS machines and other goods. Benin people should come out and deny these things. It's only on nairaland that they keep denying these truths |

engrajoo1: I won't be surprised if our garrulous police officers start using this as an excuse for extra judicial killings. Our constitution reds a total overhaul what do you mean by "start"? Do you think police men don't know of force order 237 before now? During the protest, they were warned not to use their fire arm. He is only revoking that order so why are you pained? So you want to attack an armed man simply because you are a civilian and when he react you start shouting police brutality abi? He go over una this time |

We are all shouting endsars up and down, killing policemen and burning stations. After all these, when everywhere is calm, nothing will change, little by little, things will go back to the way they were. Things have to be put in place for the reform to be effective else it's all going to be wasted efforts 1: ALLOCATION FOR FUEL AND REPAIR OF VEHICLES: It's a sad thing to note that patrol Vans are given to divisions but no fuel and no allowance for repairs. Lol, what does that mean? You are simply asking them to source for funds to do these things. Will the money come from their pockets?
2: TAXING OF DIVISIONS AND BUYING OF CASE FILES: In all divisions and police formations, the personnel's there are to pay for the running of the station such as fueling of station generator, generating find taxes to stations which is taken to state headquarters etc. Also case files are not being provided, it is sold to divisions by the headquarter so how do you expect IPOs to give it out for free?
3: RETURNS: This is a common term in the police force. It means money generated from road, bail etc and is remmitted to the DPO of the division. The DPO have a monthly Target to the CP, he must meet up monthly. The CP will them remit to those above him and the circle continues.
Let's forget about increment of salary for now, if these things are not taken care of, increment is useless. Will the police men use the increased salary to remit as return? The IGP and all senior officers should stop being hypocrites and tell the citizens the truth. If they are not scared, why not allow the rank and file to protest? Why not allow them speak to the press? If they are caught doing any of this, they will face dismissal, you keep threatening them with dismissal and mutiny. At the end of the day, you sacrifice them as scapegoats to the citizens.
We have bad policemen, but if these things are put in place, alot of them aren't bad at all. They are simply doing the job you sent them.
So many thing I want to talk about but will write more later. Let's face this for now |

Jaysleeves: I must say I'm utterly disappointed at those abusing the Nigeria police on this incident. Yes there may be other alternatives, however they did what's expected of them. Maintain law and Order in line with the law, the deceased broke the law and tried evading arrest. Unfortunately it ended up nasty, but they shouldn't have ran away but convened the victim to the hospital, who knows maybe a simple first aid or prompt medical attention could have saved him.. My sympathy goes to the deceased family as I knew for sure he was trying to earn a living but bypassing laws is a no no. if they had remained at the scene and try to rescue him, they would have been mobbed if not killed on the spot. Nigerians are their own undoing |
