ogeodi:both have their advantages and disadvantages. The charge rate of bank is higher compared to agent. Eg, for every 1k transactions, bank will deduct 50 naira from the customers acc and will give you 25 naira. But if you are using opay, they will only charge you 6 naira, you are the one to decide how to charge your customers. For me, I prefer agent but if you find it hard to save money, bank terminal is better cause they help you save your charges till month end and pay it into your account |

Business / My POS Journey by Ryan03(f): 11:22pm On May 17, 2021 |
Hello agents and aspiring agents, today I feel like sharing my success story on the forum. To some people, I have not made it yet but I am grateful for where I am and I know I will improve. My reason for sharing my story is to inspire the aspiring agents who keep getting discouraged because people are telling them that the business is already flooded, my dear, just do your thing and you will do well. My friend own a pos shop where I usually withdraw from, one day, she enquired about my salary and I told her I received 48k. She just laughed and said she can't do it o, cause she usually make up to 80-100k monthly. I couldn't believe it, like in this small shop? She advised me to start it but I had double mind because there are so many pos in my area, I felt I won't even get customers. I told my girlfriend and before I knew it, aunty started asking questions and was able to get my first terminal (kudi) for me. The terminal stayed for almost 2weeks in my house because I didn't have the confidence to start but one day, I picked courage and approached the iye eki (mother of market) in my area, she asked me to pay 6k for 6months but she won't give me shade or space to put kiosk, that I should just be working in the market (three other people do same in the market already). I felt embarrassed, like how can I be moving round market shouting pos up and down but then, I just had to. Tuesday is the main market day, so I carried the 150k I had and entered market by 7am, Omo, I started hearing pos pos, before 9:30am, the 150k was finished. Ah! Me that prayed to God to give me even if it is only 10 transactions . I couldn't believe it so I called my girlfriend and told her. Aunty quickly brought 200k for me that I should transfer it back immediately I am through, not even up to 12pm and I was out of cash. I was tired from walking too much so I just closed and went home. Got home and realized I made about 4k . My salary divided by 30days is just 1600, imagine making 4k a day? The following day, I went again but it wasn't market day so I made only 500 naira. My Friend who introduced me to the business took me to her friends shop just opposite the Market, the guy operates a bet niger shop, she begged him to allow me share with him and he agreed. I paid him 12k for 6months and started. I made only 1200 on my first day at the shop but today, I make as much as 5k per day, the least I can make a day is 2k (very bad day that is), on Sundays, I am the only agent that opens so I make up to 7-8k. I now pay 15k weekly and yet I feed and transport from my business o, all those 2k calls from home is sorted out from my business I know people who make more than that, but I am grateful for mine. If you are like me and you feel discouraged to start, pls start, just get good location and God will assist you. Good luck!!! 4 Likes |

Jimmyubah2:it's same here. But I don't care, you can kindly go to those places. They are doing theirselves cause at the end of the week, they can barely make 5k and they start complaining that the business is not productive. I am able to pay 15k weekly in my daily contribution. Its 500 daily but I pay one month in one week hence I pay 4months in just one month. That is aside my feeding and little little expenses. I usually pay myself that 60k monthly before adding the changes I left at home, sometimes up to 20k. I receive salary of 50k monthly from work, I pay the attendant 15k. So I still have enough for myself |

Jimmyubah2:I get them alot cause I am directly opposite a market. Those market women can transfer money eh, and on the main market days, I go into the market to transact. No shame o boss, we are even up to four people doing it and thankfully, the market is big enough that your money will finish and you have to hurry to the bank again. I make up to 10k on market days and sometimes even 14k 3 Likes 1 Share |

Jobs/Vacancies / Re: How Much Does Opay POS Agent Make Monthly? by Ryan03(f): 11:02pm On May 05, 2021 |
Jimmyubah2:kudi takes 0.6 for all transactions less than 20k. But 25k-500k is 150. That's where I make my profit sometimes. I charge 1k-1.5k for 100k. I sometimes get tow of such transactions. Some days I get up to 2 or 3 persons who come with their card to withdraw and transfer 200k and above. That way, I don't even use my money, I can charge 2.5k-3k for withdraw and transfer of 200k. I will make about 2.3k from it. Three customers like that and I already have 6k do the day. My small transactions give me at least 2k (bad days) per day so at the end of the day, I take like 8k-10k home Although somedays I only make 4-5l |

ogeodi:do you have a salary job? If no, kindly source for capital, apply for pos machine either from bank or other options like opay, kudi, moniepoint etc. I won advice you to build a kiosk, kindly meet someone who have a shop in a busy environment and ask to pay half the rent. That way, you get to share the shop with the person. Pls have at least 300k as capital. When costumers come to your shop to withdraw 200k sometimes more than that and you say you don't have, some avoid your shop cause they see it as a waste of time Be vigilant, avoid mistakes (very important) |
