There is bewilderment as the global exchanges rages with bull, NSE is trading sideways. Not falling and not going up.

All that needs to be done is just look (like Lookman) and see the direction the market takes.

It has thrown confusion to chart lookers. grin grin

If market remains irrational like this, then smart investors will activate the dividend waiting mode and observe when the market finishes playing its games.

'Bewilderment' ke. We all know it is artificial nau. When they are done with their abracadabra then comes the fall. grin

See as culled from the Vanguard below.
A California man was arrested and ordered held without bond on Thursday for fraudulently obtaining some $9 million in coronavirus relief funds and using some of the money to gamble in Las Vegas.
Andrew Marnell, 40, a resident of the Beverly Grove neighborhood of Los Angeles, California allegedly submitted a number of fraudulent loan applications in relation to the coronavirus pandemic and obtained millions in Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) funds.
Prosecutors say he used some of the money to make risky stock market bets, and squandered hundreds of thousands of dollars at the Bellagio Hotel and Casino and other gambling establishments in Las Vegas as recently as last weekend.
The PPP loans were part of the unprecedented $2.2 trillion CARES Act, which provided aid for millions of Americans suffering the economic effects of the pandemic.

Serious bears will descend on the banks. Covid seriously affected their earnings (re-low transactions). The dumpings will soon start. As it is, no bank should be judged on the basis of their old performance. These are unusual times! If care is not taken, some may even go under. SAD

I don't see this situation playing out. I don't think one quarter issues will kill the banks.
However, if it plays out I will be happy. We will be waiting for the 'serious bears' near the bottom - another wealth transfer on a platter of gold.

Lmao I no quote textbook and I no vex, Na market we Dey try analyze naa

But what I was trying to tell you is that the selling pressure becomes worse when a company issues bonus shares and some people sell theirs immediately dragging down the price, panic grows in other investors mind, making them sell their bonus issue and some of their portfolio and it drags it down more, next coy qtr result wasn’t close to expectation, Na GOBE JOIN

The only way the MPS won’t fall is if their PE ratio is high, so it’s would be an additional advantage having such shares for free Instead of dividend because I know with the cash the company is retaining, they can increase their PAT and it won’t drag the EPS down south

Imagine amazon doing bonus issue I won’t sell mine because I know it will grow further and another coy with unstable earnings

Agreed. We are both saying exactly the same thing.

Bjrokenhear003:

Continue quoting textbook, what I saw when trading is different,Go look At forte oil when they issued bonus shares and people rushed and sold theirs on the floor, the truth is that when they issue bonus shares,

1) the shares in the company increases

2) people rush to sell it on the floor crashing the price

3)if the company sustains the NP level as before EPS falls and MPS falls automatically and it’s get worse if NP level falls EPS falls further

So in any way I don’t like when a company issues bonus shares to its investors or does right issues( Flour mill 2018 if you don’t buy you have lost as TERP price falls) and people still rush to sell on the floor. Truth is cost of equity is expensive and isn’t tax free, whilst cost of debt is cheaper

You've succeeded in repeating what I wrote in point 1 and 3. Which person is quoting textbook now. grin
If d tin look like textbook stuff to you. No vex. Na human being dey write textbook, not spirit.

Point 2 is not true all the time. Maybe you don't understand what I mean by exceptions.

If JB issued bonus shares, the share price must fall because people will rush to the stock exchange to sell their bonus issue and the dilution of shares has occurred

Selling/buying pressure happens all the time. One of the ways dilution happens is when total units of stock is increased without corresponding increase in net profit thereby affecting the EPS. Market will eventually re-price the stock with time. There are exceptions though.

Chief, well done.

Your list is not comprehensive, FPIs buy a whole lot that you'll be surprised at some of the names they buy.

If you are not sure of a factual claim, frame it differently. You are off to a good start, work on your delivery, all those uhhhh should be done away with. Practice your presentation before shooting.

You have a global audience, so, assume no knowledge. In all your videos, provide basic info...... I'll go top-down like this......We'll be looking at Nestle today, the stock with the highest price on the NSE. Give a brief background of the NSE.... like the number of stocks listed..... the sectors.... its ytd return, and then proceed to talk about Nestle's sector in the same manner before focusing on Nestle as a company.

Make a passing comment on its fundamentals and the sentiment of the market at the moment and clearly state that you'll be focusing on TA. Please use TA terms and make your opinion clear. Say, the stock is bla bla bla its 50 or 200-day ma. Support, resistance, pullbacks, should all be jargons that you are comfortable using. If I were you, I'll focus on FA, TA, sentiment analysis, and dream analysis(shout out to Yariya). No one would want to follow you when it is only TA value they get, so, go all in.

Good feedback.
Although knowing ALL is desirable, I think there are very few masters of ALL.
Yes. There are people who do only TA. They are very good at it and they have a lot of followers.

https://nairametrics.com/2020/07/04/cbn-imposes-fresh-crr-debits-on-banks-to-the-tune-of-n118-billion/

Access Bank Plc: N3 billion
Guaranty Trust Bank Plc: N15 billion
First Bank of Nigeria Ltd: N12.4 billion
Ecobank Nigeria: N7 billion
Sterling Bank Plc: N5 billion
Fidelity Bank Plc: N11 billion
Union Bank of Nigeria Plc: N12.5 billion
First City Monument Bank Ltd: N10 billion
CitiBank Nigeria Ltd: N10.2 billion
Stanbic IBTC Bank: N15 billion
Zenith Bank Plc: N7 billion
Wema Bank Plc: N3 billion
Titan Trust Bank: N2.5 billion
Rand Merchant Bank Nigeria Ltd: N4 billion

These are huge amounts that are leaving the banking sector. It’s a squeeze on the banks. A bank like First Bank, for instance, has about N1.4 trillion in CRR with the Central Bank. And there is Zenith Bank with equally as much as N1.5 trillion. These are monies that banks can potentially put in loans at 52% at 30%, or even put in money market instruments at maybe 10%. So, for a shareholder of these banks, this CRR debits are impairing the banks’ ability to increase their earnings because now are not able to use the funds that are legitimately theirs to create money for their shareholders. And the question is that under what framework is the Central Bank choosing to take people’s money?”

I am not in support of either the Central bank or the Banks but I think you are looking at it from only one side of the coin.

I hope we are not talking of anything outside stock investment?

Key to stock investment is FA.

Loco doesn't invest money @ our own NSE but he only does Jijo based on TA and sentiments.

The FA helps to locate good stocks for short term investments .

Yes.

FA helps to determine if there is value in a stock at every point in time looking at risk to reward.
TA helps to optimize profit by helping to determine the right entry/exit point, trend, range, support/resistance etc. etc.....
I will advice every investor to seek basic knowledge of TA. It will help.

I have been looking to add to my GT and Zen for the past 3wks. TA did not allow me to buy immediately telling me those two will go a little bit more southwards for this period. Sometimes ago, I will rush blindly into the deal thereby missing out on a few quid.

Optimisation is the keyword here.
