Music/RadioWhere Is Age Beeka? by s3nn2x(op): 1:02am On Sep 18, 2013
I am a rock fan and I don't like most of the songs that are released in Nigeria, but I like the videos and the fact that Nigerians are winning awards.

But I love Age Beeka, his song 'Girl of my dreams' still rocks even when it was released in 2003.

Then, he is no more in the limelight-that is if he was ever in the limelight-and it pains me.

Same goes for Xcetera-don't know if the spelling is right-and I need to hear more of his songs

Thank God for gospel acts that are into the Rock genre, like Iyke Onka, Eben, Frank Edwards, Nathaniel Bassey and many more.

RomanceCan You Allow Your Friend To Date Your Sister? by s3nn2x(op):
Guys, I need your help urgently.

I come from a family of 7 children, which is made up of 6 girls and one boy-me.

I discovered that my friends liked to come to my house, I thought I was popular, but I did not know that they were coming because of my sisters... I think they are pretty... Lol!

I don't like my friends dating my sisters, it creeps me out. It is not as if I don't want my sisters to date anyone, but it should not be my friends.

I usually tell my friends to either choose me or my sisters.

I hate it when a friend come to my place with the pretense of seeing me, only to come and hang out with my sisters. The thing that annoys me is, when my parents comes and sees the guys in my house, my sisters will tell them they came to see me.

I have had 2 instances of my younger sister dating 2 of my friends in university behind my back, after a single encounter at different periods.

Now one of my friends is trying to hook with another of my younger sister that is 5 years his junior.

I don't Know if I am over reacting.

What would you do if you were in my position.

BTW, if my post is not clear enough, you can ask your questions.

Crime13-yr-old Kidnapped Over Late Father’s Documents by s3nn2x(op): 10:35am On Sep 16, 2013
WARRI—A 13-year-old girl (names withheld) has been kidnapped in Ekete, Udu Local Government Area of Delta State and held for eight days by suspected kidnappers over the title documents of her late father’s property.

She has, however, been released.

A family source said the victim was kidnapped on September 5 at 12noon, when she went to a nearby market to buy foodstuff, by a gang allegedly hired by a member of the family.

Vanguard learnt that trouble started in the family soon after the death of the father, Mr. Michael Salubi, in November last year, and a petition was forwarded to the police at Ovwian-Aladja Police Division for intervention.

During the burial of the deceased in August, the victim’s mother, Mrs. Evelyn Salubi, was reportedly humiliated by some members of the family, but the crisis degenerated on September 5, with the kidnap.

Petition

In a petition sent to the Area Commander, Nigeria Police Force, Warri, Mr. Oghenejabor Ikimi, counsel to her mother, Mrs. Salubi, said “between 8pm and 9pm of that same day, our client received a call from her daughter’s mobile phone and a male voice spoke to her.

“The voice said that if she wants her daughter alive, she should drop the late husband’s house documents in her possession.”

He said the caller called Mrs. Salubi on September 6, “threatening to come for her life and that of her other children since our client refused to drop the said documents.”

He added that his client, who heard the voice of her kidnapped daughter in the background, asked the suspect for direction on where to drop the said documents, but he asked if she does not know the person that was entitled to the said documents.
http://www.vanguardngr.com/2013/09/13-yr-old-kidnapped-over-late-fathers-documents/

Sincere 9gerian: The police authorities are not fools. No one is above the law. If Gov Amaechi engages in acts that infringes on the laws, it is the constitutional responsibility of the police to call the governor to order. No sentiments. However, if the police acted unlawfully in this instance, then the president should sanction whoever was responsible.

PoliticsSuspected Pirates Kill 9-year-old Girl In Bayelsa by s3nn2x(op): 10:40am On Sep 12, 2013
The riverside town of Gbaraun in Southern Ijaw Local Government Area of Bayelsa State, has been thrown into mourning following the shooting to death of a nine-year-old girl by armed gunmen suspected to be pirates.
The deceased girl was identified as a pupil of Gbaraun Community Primary School.
The tragic incident which occurred at 2 p.m, Tuesday, led to a protest in the area, leading to the arrest of one person identified as a link between the bandits and their movement to the community.
Though it could not be immediately ascertained where the suspected pirates came from, they were said to have sailed into the Gbaraun from the Ikebiri axis of the creek.
The hoodlums were said to have fired sporadically into the air to scare away the natives before snatching a boat.
According to a source, the deceased was hit by the pirates’ bullet during their shooting in the community.
It was gathered that the arrested suspect was identified as the man that hired the boat for the suspected pirates.
As soon as the boat left Ikebiri community, the
suspected pirates allegedly pushed off the boat driver into the sea and brought out guns.
“When we alerted the boat owner, he immediately mobilised boys and apprehended the person that hired the boat on behalf of the suspected pirates,” the source said.
The father of the deceased girl, identified as Ziebidei, said “the pirates shot the nine year old girl to death at Gbaraun in Southern Ijaw area.
“We arrested one suspect and the corpse of my daughter had been deposited at the morgue of the Federal Medical Centre, Yenagoa.”

^^^what is this one saying? Do you think you made any sense with what you just wrote? I want you to go through your post again, this time, I want you to read it slowly. I still ask, since when does NCC register phones? Now you brought in the issue of company doing business in Nigeria, don't you think it is the duty of CAC to register companies? Seriously, you are not making sense at all. Nobody is forcing you to buy any product, I think you are taking this Gionee/Tecno fight too far; if you were arguing about specs and functionality, that would have been okay, but this!

It does not matter if the phone is not registered in Nigeria. I don't think it is under the Jurisdiction of NCC to register phones. The post looks fake to me, just like that fake post on XDA about God villa. If it was fake or not registered, it is up to SON to ban such a product.

The person that posted that info should post a working link.

PoliticsI N V E S T I G A T I O N: Zungeru Hydro Among World’s Most Expensive by s3nn2x(op): 12:54pm On Sep 09, 2013
The Federal Government is spending N303 million on generation of each megawatt of electricity through the Zungeru hydro project, which is relatively more expensive than what obtains in Africa’s and world’s biggest hydro-power projects, according to a Daily Trust investigation.
The Zungeru project in Niger State, meant to generate 700 megawatts, will gulp $1.3 billion (N 212 billion), making the cost per mega watt to be about $1.857 million.
An analysis of the cost and capacity of hydro projects in other parts of the world showed that the Zungeru project is among the most expensive. It beats Africa’s biggest hydro-power plant which is located in Ethiopia as well as the world’s biggest, located in China.
The Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam will generate 6,000mw - that is nine times bigger than Zungeru - at the cost of $4.8 billion. This mean it would cost about N131 million ($800,000) per megawatt, less than half what it would cost the Federal Government through Zungeru.
The Three Gorges Dam in China, which is the world’s biggest hydro project with 22,550 mega watts, was completed in 2012 at the cost of N3.7 trillion ($22.5 billion). The per-megawatt cost is N163 million (about $997,782), slightly above half of what Nigeria is spending on the power to be generated by the Zungeru dam.
For its part, the second biggest hydro dam in the world, the Itaipu Dam, was built at N3.2 trillion ($19.6 billion) to generate 14,000mw, meaning a megawatt costs about N229 million ($1.4m). The dam is jointly owned by Brazil and Paraguay, and is situated along the borders of the two South American countries.
President Goodluck Jonathan flagged off the Zungeru project in May, with a completion date of 2018. The project was first initiated in 1982.
During the ground-breaking ceremony, Minister of State for Power Hajiya Zainab Kuchi said the cost of the project was “attractive”.
“The total cost of construction is USD 1.293 billion giving an attractive energy cost of less than 5 cent/kwh,” she had said.
When contacted for comments on this story, spokesperson for the Ministry of Power, Ms Kande Daniel, said Zungeru project was not expensive when compared to similar projects elsewhere.
In an emailed response to questions by Daily Trust, she said: “Information I gathered indicate that the construction cost of dams across the world is determined by more than one singular factor, say size, for instance. Topography and other factors come to play.
“We can safely conclude that no two dams are the same, and that cost of construction is not determined solely by size.
“Our engineers say also that the figures you see for Zungeru include the cost of transmission components as well as cost of evacuation of power.”
She said costs of other large hydro projects around the world range from $1 million to $7.6 million per kilowatt (sic), and therefore Zungeru “is comparatively on the low side.”
Slow pace
The Zungeru project is being executed by Chinese firm, CNEEC-Sinohydro Consortium, and financed on 25:75 debt equity ratio between Nigeria and the Exim Bank of China.
Though the cost of Zungeru is relatively higher, the Ethiopian project is moving faster. Both dams have the same completion date of 2018, and by April 2013, the Ethiopian project had reached 20 per cent completion just two years after flag off.
But four months after Jonathan performed the ground breaking ceremony of the Zungeru plant, only preparatory work has started at the project site, Daily Trust investigations revealed.
When a Daily Trust reporter visited the project site some weeks ago, few Chinese engineers were seen, carrying out some skeletal construction work.
CNEEC-Sinohydro’s deputy project manager, Mr. Xiaonie, said proper construction works were yet to start because another Chinese company, Hydrochina Kunming Engineering Corporation, was being awaited to deliver the engineering design of the project.
“We are waiting for the design from China. I do not know what is making the delay in the delivery of the engineering design. If we do not have the design, we can’t start any meaningful work,

http://dailytrust.info/index.php/top-stories/5013-i-n-v-e-s-t-i-g-a-t-i-o-n-zungeru-hydro-among-world-s-most-expensive
FamilyWhy Do Elderly Men R.ape Minors? by s3nn2x(op): 12:44pm On Sep 09, 2013
I find it very strange when I read stories about old men raping little girls. Just today, I read a story of a 25 year old man that raped a 3 year old girl. I often wonder, why they do it! Sometimes I see little girls running around naked, and then wonder if it is that small hole that a man of 40 or more puts his man rod.

It surprises me. It seems it has become a norm in Nigeria and we have gotten used to it.
