alabo1: When I read comments like this it becomes obvious to me that it is all about how a brand is perceived based on subjective observations. most people just identify with certain products and condemn others without any in depth analysis.

Anyone with a knowledge of history knows that it was not until the last half decade that Samsung became a dominant player in the smartphone market. Prior to that they were considered inferior to the more established names such as Nokia, LG, Sagem etc. The fact that a phone brand is relatively new and cheap does not make it a right off as Samsung's history has proved. In fact Techno considering how recent their venture into the smartphone world should be lauded on the remarkable improvements in their devices.

I am an phone enthusiast and have rarely used a phone longer than seven months. In the past 3 years I have used a Storm 2, Bold 4, HTC HD7, Xperia S, Galaxyy S2 and I am currently using a LG Optimus vu2 and a techno N7. I must state that the N7 considering its price stacks up very nicely against these even though it is surpassed mainly in areas of pixellation and memory space and speed when tasked. However build quality is impeccable and the user interface is largely the same. I have also handled the F7 which is a step up from the N7 and can state that while it still lags behind in pixellation it is on a par with current high end smart phones in terms of speed and UI. It is important to note that benchmark tests don't always translate to better performance in real life.

The fact remains that techno phones are sound buys considering their prices and will only get better as they gain a competitive advantage due to high turnover. At the moment despite the huge variance in pricing a discerning user will be able to ascertain that their is only a marginal difference in certain performance indicators between techno and the HTC's and Co.

The bottom line is to buy a product based on your need for it and proven specs and performance not just branding.

This should serve as the conclusion of the whole matter. Gbam!!!

e3 and d1 pass f7 well well... even price is very diffrent.... over here in my side d e3 goes for 42k in total... and d dream1 goes for 45k.,.. e6 goes for 71k in china....


but f7 try sha... but f7 is not bad at all... i even hav a tecno n7 ... and a freind uses a tecno f7... but to swear it cant be compared to gionee nor jiayu ...

frm wat i can testify to dis tecno phone i would say d only really nice tin bout it is tht it has a nice body design and runs an android...and also helps save cash.... aside tht i see no reason why u should compare d phone with galaxy... not even gionee....

My Guy, I don't even feel for the Tecno guys at all. They were the ones that started the comparism. For goodness sake, someone woke up one morning and decided to compare the F7 with S3. Do you know that it is Tecno products that has the most thread on nairaland phone section (a personal opinion though), and they are fond of derailing every/most threads in the phone section. I once thought that Tecno was android. I don't dislike Chinese products, but I won't use Tecno. I actually intend to get Zopo C2. I wonder if the die hard Tecno fans will stick to Tecno if a cheaper and better product comes to the Nigerian market!

Godvilla: Did i just hear sum1 say F7 handles FIFA12 without any glitch? (u only get to see the dwn part of the pitch veri well, although the game doesnt lag, most of the games play smoothly BUT the graphics display is veri poor)

I got the whole point wen he said he'll upload screenshots which implies dat the OP is yet to try it out. NOVA3 did not even open 1st scene on F7 not even the most popular car race game(Need for speed *Most wanted*) all i culd see was the back light of the car, everywhere on the screen was dark.
Iv stated dis b4 and i say it again, if u are game freak, just over look F7 and go for Gionee E3.
But if u are new to Android and wanna knw hw it feels like to own one(Effizy ish) den u can buy the F7!!!
And about Grand Duos, i wount advice anybody to go for it. Only BB users can manage it cos they are used to charging phone evry 3hrs. The phone did not justify its price(35-40K) suits it range BUT hey! Its a Samsung device so xpect the hype in price.
And please, stop all these noisy comparisms and enjoy ur Android devices...............
Most peeps here are students and hustlers(u dnt xpect 'em to cough out 50K for a phone. Others are workers who can afford a luxirous phone) Bottom line, ur money speaks 4 u coupled with preference.

And know that most of these guys that are making fun of Tecno or other low end phone actually saved for months before they could buy their phones and if you see them, you will begin to wonder where they got the money from. Bornstar: I guest everyone intending to buy techno F7 phantom A1 should suspen and wait for Gionee E6 Elife but just that Gionee E6 is single sim more it has cool specifications than F7.

Na wa for you ooo! Tecno F7 is nowhere close to Gionee Elife E7 and so is the price. How do you expect someone that has 34k for Tecno to wait for a phone that is not in the market, even in the country of production, and the fact is the price is going to be different by a wide margin. If you are advising them to go for an alternative, then the Gionee Dream D1 and Gionee Elife E3 would suffice.

In Lagos- LTV, Galaxy TV, MITV, NTA 10...I wonder how the above mentioned TV stations are still in existence.

In Abuja- ITV is the most useless station I have ever set my eyes on....also STV Abuja, Yes! I have the picture quality of STV.

In Bayelsa- GloryLand Television.

In Delta- DBS

I mentioned the four areas because I have spent time there.

For thos mentioning NTA, I don't think NTA is that bad, If I was asked to chose my best local station, I will go for NTA News24, I love the station and the picture/audio quality is very nice.

But, to be factual, most Nigeria stations are whack, I don't like AIT but they have a very nice picture quality. I used to like STV and Channels years ago because of their cartoons, but it seems Nigerian stations has forgotten that children also watch Tv, and what is the ish with the Nickleleodeon stuff on STV and NTA. Anyways, Thank God for Sattelite TV.

I also hate BEN TV, AMC and MGM on Startimes.

I think it is Glo. I also believe Airtel is the Cheapest for off net calls. I prefer to use my Airtel sim to call other numbers than my MTN sim and it has been so for years without migrating to any plan sef.

The only problem I have with Tecno products and Users is that there are no reviews. I have gone through most of the Tecno threads and I don't see real reviews, all I see are contradictory posts, one side complaining and the other side praising Tecno. I am even considering getting a Tecno product to do an unbiased review. It is not too much to ask na. Since F7 users are already comparing Tecno with Samsung, then I think a review will be best.

The question has been answered in the first page of the thread and it is working perfectly, I wonder why this thread should be revived. And yes, Whatsapp works on Nokia Asha 200 without any tweak, but you will not get notifications like other phones, it works like 2go, it is only when you open the application that you would be able to send and receive messages.

Lord_Reed: Hmmm I don't know about you but I love big screens so I'd go for the Zopo. Both are the same spec the screen being the only difference.

There are some differences, Zopo comes with FHD screen, 16GB room(my choice), PPI of 441 or so etc...but the other specs are the same.

I have waited for Peachie's review, but it seems like she has forgotten that such a thread ever existed.

Anyways, after doing a lot of research online, I have decided to get one of these phones-Zopo C2/ZP 980 or Jaiyu G4.

My first choice is actually Zopo, but it seems like the G4 is more highly rated.

I woke up around 6:35am with 58% on my battery, I had like 6 whatsup alerts, 29 unread mails, I replied the important ones and discarded the junks. My facebook app was running, facebook messenger had like 10 chat msgs. 2go was on.
Like every morning ritual, I read me some bible pages from Olive tree app, Turned to Naij.com app to get some updates, then to my NYtimes app for some Morsi/Egypt etc.Switched to my Flipboard app for some juicy news, then made some audio notes on my Evernote app. Answered fews calls in btw. Edited a friend's pic with Aviary app to PicsArts app, shared it thru facebook msgr. Meanwhile, I was monitoring my forex trade thru my mt4 app. Hitting my first target with $213 down.   So excited, I began chatting till Monica alerted me I have 4% left. I herbinated all the other apps with greenify except Fb msgr. On 2% to go, It was 12:03 pm. I switched it off for some charging. That was my getting up from my bed, call me lazy.

I always switch off completely when charging with Nepa or Gen. And use occasionally, when charging with the laptop only. I had the brightness to the lowest low, Volume low, no vibration, no wifi, no gps, no hotspot, just data under edge.

Now my twin sister and her snub of a friend with their Z10 & S4 respectively, envy the ruggedness, sexiness of my classic and rooted black F7...I named Monica after the snubby girl.

Maybe its just me, cos I make anything I spend my cash on worthy. I dont brag, just full of myself in a good way. So flex ur Sony wateva, Samsung wateva, Z10, 100k phone, who cares, I'm in love with my Monica ero*tica (Phantom A).

aadejesu: check out the full specs of the NEO N003, sells for about 206USD (33K) on aliexpress, gizchina quoted it for 175USD (28K), and this is a phone that comes with a 1.2GHz quadcore, gorilla glass, a 1920x1080 display screen, and a whooping 3000mAh battery. Like I said the only problem with this people is that they are not doing business in the African market, the NEO especially restricted themselves to china.

My guy, it is not about the prices that are stated in foreign websites, you also need to state the amount it will cost to ship them to Nigeria. I am actually going to order my phone from one of those Chinese websites; but you cannot blame people that buy the tecno product na. It is choice and availability. Next time, before you make a comparism, tell us the cost to ship the product down to Nigeria,because that affects prices also.

You could have commented on the newly created thread on the Gionee Elife E3 by Elijahre. BTW, the E6 is not even out, it will be announced in a conference in China on the 10th of July.
