Forming a stable and successful nation has nothing to do with mineral resources. If that where true, then Japan will still be a third world nation. It also has nothing to do with geographic location ie lack of access to the seas and ocean. Of that were true, then Switzerland will still be a developing country.
All that is required in forming a stable nation is the 'Will' to form a govt that reflects the wishes of the people.
If a nation is born and the people have no impute on how their govt will be formed then that nation will never be stable - Case in point Nigeria.
It's very critical that the people of a new born nation be involved in the set up of the govt to avoid domination and concentration of power by a people. For a nation to be truely stable, the govt must be design in such a way that power is balance across all people. A govt where power is balanced across all people in the geographic location is a democratic govt.
A govt that is inclusive, democratic and appreciates differences and diversity of the people will go a long way to establish a stable country.
A govt that is seperated from religion. Seperation of state and religion is a must for a stable nation.
A govt that provides a level playing ground for all people irrespective of their race, ethnicity or religion to grow, develop and advance at their own pace.

If Middle Belt or people from other regions can come together and achieve the above, these nations will emerge be the most stable and prosperous countries to ever come out of Africa.
