Politics / Re: NASS Siege: Secondus Asks Uk To Expel Buhari by sabidey: 8:01pm On Aug 07, 2018
UcheSecondus:
NASS siege: Secondus asks Uk to expel Buhari

.......says President hiding in Europe to plan evil against democracy

....salutes the courage of the VP in sacking

The National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Prince Uche Secondus has reacted angrily to the reported early morning siege on Tuesday preventing staff and law makers from gaining entrance to the National Assembly saying that United Kingdom should expel President Muhammadu who is hiding in that country to plan the undermining of democracy in the country.

The National Chairman said that Britain should not allow its environment be turned into a haven for anti democracy conspirators.

Prince Secondus said in a statement from his media office signed by Media Adviser, Ike Abonyi that the President left the country to UK for 10 days medical leave to enable the nefarious activities they lined out against democracy be executed in his absence.

He said that the final plan for the invasion of National Assembly was concretized when the minority leader Senator Godswill Akpabio visited the President in London at the weekend.

According to Prince Secondus the siege in National Assembly leaves no one doubt that President Muhammadu Buhari and his ruling APC are out to destroy this hard earned democracy all because they can no longer fit into it.

Secondus also salutes the courage of the Vice President in sacking the Director General of the DSS, Lawan Daura to show that Nigeria cannot be hijacked and ruled by cabals.

The National Chairman said that democrats all over the World do not need any further evidence to show that President Buhari and APC have suspended democracy and are now running a draconian administration.

"When an executive arm in a democratic setting muscles up other arms of government, the correct name for such administration is autocracy and dictatorship.

"Nigerians and international community have continuously watched this administration, harass and intimidate the legislature and Judiciary as well as others in opposition in their bid to create a dictatorial regime.

"All over the World, the parliament is the bastion of democracy and rule of law anybody not willing to alien himself to them is trying to create anarchy in the land.

Prince Secondus said that the actions of the security agencies this morning clearly shows a drowning man who is totally alienated from happenings around his environment and suddenly wants to survive when the ship is already wrecked.

The National Chairman then called on President Buhari to resign and pave way for the sustenance of democracy since it is now obvious that he has lost legitimacy to continue as an elected President.

Prince Secondus said that no amount of intimidation and harassment will deter lovers of democracy from pushing for the extinction of this wicked regime.

He noted that Nigerians passed through this route before in their struggle to restore democracy in this country and the will of the people and that of the almighty prevailed and this time cannot be an exception.

"We are aware that when a regime exhausts idea of what to do and loses the legitimacy that brought it to power, it could be dangerous like a bull in China shop but truth is that Nigeria will survive this regime and laugh last.

Finally, the PDP boss calls on the global democratic community to rein in President Buhari to allow other arms of government to operate and allow democracy and rule of law to prevail.

Signed

Ike Abonyi

The senator inaugurated the two blocks of four classrooms be built at LGEA Primary School, Tawari, and LGEA primary School, Manyare, the 10- kilometre Manyare-Gegu Beki road and the 15-kilometre Orehi – Irovomi road, all in Kogi Local Government.

Melaye, who also inaugurated a borehole he built at Felele area of Lokoja, said other projects to be inaugurated in the next few days include classroom blocks , rural roads, boreholes, skills acquisition centres as well as rural electrification schemes.

He further charged the people of the communities where the projects were located to protect them from vandals and make the best use of them.

There has been consistent killings in parts of Benue State, also by gunmen believed to be herdsmen.

Police spokesman Jimoh Moshood named some of the suspects in custody over the Plateau killings as: Biliaminu Abdullahi, Samaila Saleh, Muhammadu Kabiru, Aminu Mohammed, Alhassan Saidu, Abubakar Adam, Gazali Isah, Hamza Inusa Yahuza Yau, Dahiru Ahmed and Friday Musa.

The police said they were withholding names of two suspects.

The exhibits allegedly recovered from them include five AK47 rifles and two live cartridges.

Speaking in Abuja yesterday, Moshood said the relocation of the Deputy Inspector General (DIG) in charge of operations and others had yielded results.

The police said security had improved in the Plateau communities.

In Benue State, four suspected bandits have been arrested.

The suspects, according to Moshood, are: Benajamin Tivfa, 32, a councillor in Fidi Council Ward, Makurdi Local Government Area, Victor Ganabe, Daniel Kyase, 33, member of Benue Livestock Guards and Julius Avaan 49.

Others are : Terkula Udeh 37, Sunday Cheche, 34 and Alhaji Adajo Tomza, 28, member of Benue Livestock Guards and Msugh Teraki, 23, member, Benue Livestock Guards.

Moshood added that items recovered from them include two AK 47 rifles, a locally made pistol and 436 rounds of AK 47 ammunition.

The suspects were arrested on June 27 by members of the Inspector-General of Police Intelligence Response Team (IRT).

The spokesman said that six of the suspects were arrested in a hotel in Naka village.

Moshood said the suspects confessed that the councillor was a member of their gang and was responsible for the supply of arms and ammunition as well as money to finance their operations.

Politics / Re: My People Need Basic Amenities And Not Flyovers - Aminu Tambuwal by sabidey: 7:20pm On Jun 18, 2018
goldcoinhub:
Governor Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto State has promised the people of Sokoto State to be more concerned about their basic needs and not in the construction of bridges and flyovers.

He made this known to civil servants and heads of government agencies in the state that paid him the traditional Sallah homage at Government House on Sunday in Sokoto, News Agency of Nigeria reports.

Tambuwal said he would not use available scarce resources to construct flyovers in place of people’s needs in the areas of health, education and access roads.

He said the needs of the state were different from other states, particularly those inaugurating bridges and flyovers.

“Our needs are completely different, states by states, and our priorities are not the same.

“I will not take Sokoto money to construct flyovers or bridges; these are not the priority of the state. Our priorities are tailored to the needs of our people.

“What we need in Sokoto state, particularly for our people in the rural areas are not bridges, flyovers, which are projects in billions.

“But what they need are smaller projects like basic health clinics, cottage hospitals, cottage industries, feeder roads, school infrastructure and scholarships to encourage learning,” he said.

The governor further renewed his administration’s commitment to change all negative indices of development associated with the state in the past.

He added that the state government was expanding the Internally Generated Revenue base of the state.

“The State IGR was less than 700,000 per month; as such we cannot compare ourselves with other states that generate billions monthly.

“So we are assuring you that this administration will embark on projects and policies designed to meet the needs of the people and change the negative narration about the state for instance in area of education would be pursued with vigour,” Tambuwal said.

He assured the civil servants of prompt payment of salaries and allowances, which he said were statutory, while other incentives would be worked out to further mobilise them to render optimal services to the state.

He ascribed the achievements of his administration to the proactive strategies and support received from the bureaucracy, noting that attending to the needs of the civil servants was a sure way of reducing corruption in public service.

The state Head of Service, Dr Buhari Kware, who led the delegation, commended the governor for making payment of salaries and allowances of civil servants a priority.

Kware pledged the support of all civil servants in the state to ensure the execution of government programmes successfully.

Similarly, Tambuwal had while receiving members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) led by the state party Chairman, Alhaji Isa Achida, advised politicians not to use thugs before, during and after elections to intimidate opposition.

He told the party faithful not to expect intervention from him or from the state executives should anyone run violate the law and admonished youths to resist from being used as thugs to attack opponents.
