"The Wheel weaves as the Wheel wills, and we are only the thread
of the Pattern."

I have read, owned and reread every one of the books and Jan 8th can not get here soon enough grin

BTW what do you think of Sanderson as opposed to Jordan's literary prowess? For me at least, I've been pleasantly surprised.

Truckpusher: YOU CAN CALL THEM SILLY BUT MY BRO THEY ARE DOING A LOT OF DAMAGES TO UNSUSPECTING YOUNG MEN AND FOREIGNERS ESPECIALLY WHITE DUDES BUT IF YOU HAVE A FIRST HAND INFORMATION THAT THEY EXIST AND IT WORKS FOR THEM THEN YOU ARE A STEP AHEAD OF THEM because YOUR DEALINGS WITH ANY GIRL THAT ISN'T A SERIOUS RELATIONSHIP SHOULD END SOMEWHERE...TRUST ME THEY EXIST AND DON'T YOU Bleep WITH THE DEVIL because HE IS EVERYWHERE LOOKING FOR WHOM TO DEVOUR THROUGH HIS NUMEROUS AGENTS.

WHY ARE YOU YELLING AT ME, DID I YELL AT YOU?

But anyways, all this mumbo jumbo sorcery doesn't exist. It's a fallacy of the mind with no scientific data to back it up.

That is fact.
Family / If Your Spouse Cheated, How Would You Feel? by SAFO(m): 12:28pm On Dec 27, 2012
What would be your reaction?

Would you immediately seek a divorce?

I don't claim to be a perfect man, far from it anyway and yet I've never cheated on my wife since we got married. I did mess around a bit while we were dating but there really wasn't a commitment in place so I don't feel as if I've acted unfairly.

Honestly, if my wife cheated I don't know if I would get a divorce (probably for the sake of the kids) but I would definitely stop loving her. I'm my eyes she wouldn't be the same person anymore. My wife is supposed to belong to me and the thought of her with some other guy would severely taint my perception of her. I wouldn't be able to look her in the face and not feel disgusted. I wouldn't want to touch her or comfort her anymore. In short I would despise her.

The mere thought repulses me and now that I think of it, it would probably do more harm than good to stay together. People always claim that you can forgive and forget but to what extent can one maintain this belief? Isn't marriage supposed to be a sanctified bond that can not be undone by anyone but God?

Do others share this belief or is this too extreme on one end of the spectrum?

Family / Re: When One Partner Cheats, Who Should We Blame? by SAFO(m): 12:06pm On Dec 27, 2012
Tgirl4real: NL has been kinda dry and the holiday is adding to it.

Letz discuss this:

Someone once told me that if his wife cheated on him, he would be convinced, deep in his heart, that he had failed her. Because if she was getting his attention at home, she wouldn't find any reason to step out.

What do you guys think?

This is true to an extent. The husband may have ripened the situation for her to step out but every individual is still responsible for his or her actions.

Although circumstances leading to the lack of attention could be because of a variety of issues not within his control. What if the husband is working 2 or 3 jobs just to maintain a roof over their heads. Should he feel that he failed her then?

Some women are callous enough to believe it's his fault in this scenario. I've seen it plenty of times with some of my wife's friends.

Romance / Re: My Boyfriend Is Married In Nigeria! by SAFO(m): 7:23pm On Dec 26, 2012
uj_sizzle: Only Nigerian women can handle Nigerian men, every other country just enter one chance.

OP, you have two possible options:
1. Move on with your life and leave the man alone.
2. Get used to the fact that he's married and continue your relationship with him. On the plus side, you get to spend over 10mths with him, while his wife gets 6weeks.

It's narrow minded thinking like this that continues to perpetuate those negative stereotypes and r3tard growth as a community.

Instead of trying to pigeonhole "the Nigerian man", why not choose to enlighten?

Yeah probably, but what really irks me though is this "greater than thou" mentality that we always see a lot of.

We all wipe our azz the same way. One bucket of water or tissue paper at a time (though I prefer tissue paper).

ojdollars: @Nigerians.... It's funny how some people can just comment on this post and start crucifying this Nigerian Easterner. I mean, not just a Nigerian... But A Nigerian Medical Doctor in the US... This story is far from Gold digging... This Black Americans in America seems to think that they are very smart, especially when they assume they are pretty. A Medical Doctor, giving you is all, that guy is over $100,000usd = #15 Million Naira richer annually. He could have just pay for sex from every and any corner in America, sex na like hand shake for this place. No cultural value, a nation where women with another man's pregnancy goes out there to lay with another man with it. If you ask me, the Gold digger here is this woman... For Christ sake, this guy already got his command, his swag before he met this Akata trouble trouble lady. He has been dating her years before that marriage certificate was issued. Why didn't she give a green light for Marriage if she is not among one of those ladies whose duty is to reap where they have not sown? An Igbo man showering you with gifts, taking care of you, paying bills for you. In fact he met you in the American system and took you out, made a positive impact in you and you dare have the guts to come to a Nigerian forum to castigate yet another one Nigerian again.

For all those who don't know what we are worth, I will tell you today. There are no men like Nigerian men anywhere in the world.... Especially in the States... If you don't live in America, you won't understand the attitude, the psychology of this women here. She only came to tell you this sweet talk everyone here to drew sympathy to herself. You know He is married now, leave him alone. Na our Son, we nor dey reject our children, come rain, come sun. Doctors are hot cake in America, you ungrateful lazy ass Akata. Mtscheewww.

THREAD CLOSED.

You sound like a broken record already. The lady is just here to get some sort of understanding. I don't believe she has even said one cross word about ol boy.

val_dee: Listen Sis,

We value children more than anything.

The man wanted to get you pregnant and you refused.

Believe me if you had gotten pregnant for him, he would have married you.

That singular act of refusal pushed him away from you.

Methinks I know this doctor in question.

Either that or he would have carried the children go back home with or without the wife.

But as to the OP's dilemma, I think we should not be so fast to judge her. Remember her culture is not our culture. An 11yr relationship with no knowledge of the other partner's family is not uncommon in the US. Instead of attacking her, we should be trying to enlighten her, so she will know what she's up against.

@k2039, spot on assessment.

It's funny how we Nigerians brag about our low divorce rates and core family structures, but yet one will be surprised at the number of people living their lives in utter frustration and hopelessness, all in the name of marriage.

1. So its a sin to work full time & study ?

2. Just like number 1, the guy is busy trying to get ahead in life. Must he call you every day?

3. Don't ever expect to get invited when it's guys nite out. No man wants a clingy woman who craves attention all the time. Let him shayo with the boys and your time will come.

In summary I think you've been bitten one too many times and now you're dating in fear. Be careful o cuse you might let a good man slip thru your fingers.

joeydozzy:

in this kind of relationship, there's nothing like bluff. she's started nagging and will continue. Even if you curb it for the mean time, she's stopped loving you cos she's always constantly ringing breakup in your ear every now and then cos she wants you to be the person to break the relationship. sooner than he thinks, she'll start cheating that is if she hasn't yet.

she doesn't love him again and pls do away with her before you regret it

Bros that's not always true. If she hasn't left yet, it very well could mean she's just bluffing.

Still though, we don't even know what she's nagging about.

OP, come jist us the rest of the story now
Romance / Re: What Do Men Really Want In Women? by SAFO(m): 9:41pm On Dec 21, 2012
Honesty - It's better to be upfront in the beginning even if it's not what you want to hear. A relationship based on lies will be derailed b4 it even gets started.

Loyalty - I need to know that you can stick with me thru thick & thin.

Character - what is she made of? A woman with good character can be the backbone of a relationship.

Independent - Yes I'm the head of the house and I will be the bread winner but can she be self sufficient on her own if it came down to it. What also can she bring to the table. No man wants a needy woman who is always looking for handouts.

Beauty - this might be somewhat petty but if I have to wake up next to her every day for the rest of my life, it would help if she didn't look like a gargoyle.

Kitchen Etiquette - gaddamitt she betta know how to cook. This one is non negotiable.

These are just a few but in my opinion should be every man's core values.

Idowuogbo: Hmmm...wot are u doing wrong?

Yes, there are always 2 sides to the story.

Which kind nag be it? Is she nagging you to stop cheating/beating/abusing her? Or is she nagging about trivial matters?

If it's the latter, move on joor. Life is too short for all that wahala. Betta yet, call her bluff and see what she does. My guess is that she'll change her ways

The Op indeed might have 40% points but bashing who ever oppose her stand means the b/f of hers is a victim, funny some guys who hardly show apprieciation to their ladies by getting a gift to her they will be complaining while our guy who come up with something..what did he get in returned? Rushing down to N/L seeking advice on how to inform him she hate the gift.

Na true talk but at least she doesn't want to consciously hurt his feelings. Maybe this is the reason why she's seeking advice.

@ OP, what did you get boyfriend in return?
