These are the kind of report that zelensky reads and start acting like a global emperor. Ukraine's major cities are in ruins. Millions of its citizens have fled. Effective defeat is when you go into a country to replace its leadership and 20 years later you are chased out by that same leadership you were out to oust, and leaving behind billion dollars worth of military hardware while scampering out. |
If you ask me, na who I go ask? It's starting to feel the conspiracy theorists weren't that crazy after all |
Yet they told us China was the bogeyman. Now they have scared China away after using fake trolls, unpatriotic people and controlled (social) media, they are coming in to grant loans. See what China's loan are for below, now you tell me what exactly the Imf loan above is meant for? 1. 700MW Zungeru hydro power dam 2. Ebuta Metta Station of Lagos Ibadan railway 3. Abuja City- Airport Metro Among others

Oya mod front page material. In all conflicts, truth is the first casualty. Both western and Russian media are guilty of propaganda. The west is banning Russian news from their space and all over the Internet. The Russians are banning BBC, CNN and others. Infact we need to start seriously thinking how much of the "historical facts" of the last 2 centuries were truths, half truth or outright lies. These people were and still are the source of what is considered mainstream news or history. But for the Internet we would still be in the "dark" We are witnessing the next course of history being charted. You may chose to fight the tide or ride the tide, either ways history will be made. |
Need more proof? |
It is getting really scary that people are scared to voice opinions contrary to anything popular or mainstream on well known platforms for fear of being cancelled or even sacked from work. Where are we heading to in this free society |
This is a question no one is asking. The west has banned Russian media from their space. From Google to Facebook, twitter to tiktok, Russian media is been banned by "democracies" across the globe (never mind free press being a pillar of democracy) The E.U.’s position is a “far-reaching and remarkable interpretation of the law,” said TJ McIntyre, an associate professor at University College Dublin who studies Internet law and civil liberties. The document wasn’t made public by the E.U., so it also raises questions about transparency, McIntyre saidhttps://www.washingtonpost.com/technology/2022/03/09/eu-google-sanctions/ Russia is no Saint here because they are doing the same thing https://www.washingtonpost.com/media/2022/03/04/putin-media-law-russia-news/ It begs the question why is Africa dumping ground for all these narrow interest news corporations, because if anything is obvious in the last few weeks, it is that there is nothing like freedom of speech or free press. If you find yourself still talking it is not because you have unlimited freedom to do that, you just haven't reached your limit as defined by someone, a corporate interest or a government. Shouldn't we guard and take our "infosphare" seriously and tell our own stories ourselves? |
Chichigi1990:Why all the hateful comments, he is entitled to his opinion. You just justify his fears. You are welcome brother in Islam. But actually not all Christians are like that infact while you are a new Muslim, it is good you learn what Allah says about Christians: "... and nearest among them in love to the believers wilt thou find those who say, "We are Christians" : because amongst these are men devoted to learning and men who have renounced the world, and they are not arrogant" Ch 5 V 83 Unfortunately most of our Christians here are not devoted to knowledge (I find the description Allah gave them here interesting - "we are Christians " - because this was a name they chose, or was chosen for them. But not a name from Allah or Christ himself) |
qekng40:Pakistan is a nuclear power too |
It only smells profit to the western imperialists. I read somewhere how these same companies are scrambling to Namibia because they struck oil. Modified: Suddenly you would start hearing these familiar lines in Namibia "why have the last 3 president come from only 1 party?" You would start seeing spurious power tussle between ethnic groups Trust me these problems though underlying, are fermented by external forces who want to benefit more than you from your resources. Think Nigeria - oil - insecurity Libya oil - civil war Iraq -oil - civil war South Sudan -oil - civil war Sudan-oil- civil war/political crises Congo -diamond- civil war And the list goes on. But if they have their puppets in power or their corporations have unfettered access to your resources like some gulf and African States, then you can watch them enjoy your resources in "peace" |
qekng40:They know they are not ready for an armed conflict with Russia. That's what happens when you use your hand to manufacture enemies for your self. |

I think they just want to discard their Soviet era tanks and munitions because its taking up space. That's what Ukraine is fighting feeling like they r chilling with the big boys |
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aCUMfNSwzxE Military analyst Mason Clark, of the Institute for the Study of War, explains why Russia has not used its full military force against Ukraine.”It’s frankly miraculous that they have allowed the Ukrainian Air Force to remain operational … when they should have theoretically had the capabilities to ground it very early on in operations,” he told Al Jazeera. |
“There is no shortage in the country. What you see with the queues is cars taking more than 10 to 15 minutes to be fully serviced and that will cause them unnecessary stress that you are seeing,” he said.We are really in serious trouble as a nation and probably as a race. Imagine people in charge of piloting our affairs having no clue whatever of the dynamics of the problems we are facing. You have 1 billion litres and yet: 1. It's not in the market 2. It's not at the right price 3. Its not accessible by the final user 4. It's price, quantity or quality is prone to change due to external shocks If you can't break down a problem and address the exact issue, you have no business being at the helm of affairs. But this is Nigeria |
Actually China is the greatest winner of this war, and its a bargain for China. China has the upper hand to negotiate prices with Russia since the west aren't buying. And China just strategically solved its energy problem incase of crisis between the west and China by having the second Largest oil and gas producer literally in your backyard and all for yourself |
All this gra gra by western interests. When companies like sinopec and petrobras start stepping in to inherit these "spoils" at little or no cost, you would then start seeing moral blackmail and unfounded litigation by these western companies and their proxies You can't eat your cake and have it. Throwing everything but the kitchen sink at Russia economically is not a good idea, you don't test the depth of a lake with two legs especially given that they can do little or nothing militarily against Russia. You see China as a strategic threat that needs to be slowed down yet You just guaranteed China's energy needs by sending the second largest oil producer to be more alighed with China. Thus you can't blackmail China by threatening its energy supply anymore by military build ups on the South China sea. Let's not even talk about how Europe's energy security is in jeopardy. Who will meet the shortfall. And Europe is blindly following America all over an obsolete cold war relic called NATO. Talk about strategic blunder |
What's your take: 1. Should politics be separated from sport? 1.2. If NO, how or who should determine the right course over which interference is made? 1.3. If YES, how do you justify playing with your enemy |
If the double standards were not clear before, well now it is. The conflicts happening around the globe from Africa to the Middle East are all manufactured to soothe the interest of the West. As we can see in the global unity against "oppression" in Ukraine. If the world wanted to end the insecurity in sub saharan Africa, the wars and poverty in the horn of Africa, or the conflicts in the Middle East then it can. But they wouldn't, because interests come first over humanity in today's world Celtic supporters groups raised over £130,000 for Palestinian charities in an effort to match a fine which was handed out by UEFA for hanging banners and flags in solidarity with the country.https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.skysports.com/amp/football/news/11787/12304459/palestine-celtic-supporters-group-told-to-remove-banners-ahead-of-game-with-st-johnstone

Here is brief my take. Russia's concern As much as the West may like to dismiss this, Russia has real security concerns about NATOs expansion eastward. Originally, even though not stated in so many words, NATO was basically an anti Russia alliance. It is therefore not out of places to expect Russia to counter NATO. The West's mistake was dismissing Russia's concerns of NATOs expansion all these years. This war is the result. Ukrainian concerns Ukrain as a sovereign nation has the right to choose its alliances, but unfortunately it tried to do so naively oblivious of the greater geopolitical power play between Russia and the west. Forget all the talk about we are all equals - a cat should know its place among bigger cats. America's double standard America is willing to go thousands of miles across continents to bomb groups or regimes it considers at odds with its national (and sometimes economic) interests. Even against UN mandates. The Americans adventures in South America, South east Asia, Iraq, Somalia, Libya etc. are all on records. Mr Putin's current reaction to the prospect Americans stationing missile systems (defensive or offensive) in Ukraine in the name of NATOs alliance shouldn't come as a surprise in western capitals. Especially given that America also rejected that prospect of the former USSR having missiles in Cuba not too long ago My conclusion America came into global prominence after it was perceived that its joining of the first world war help brought the war to an end. In fact the then president Wilson was so respected that his ideals of a world order were each sovereign nation is respected big or small formed the new basis of international engagements. Known as the Wilsonian Idealism, these set of ideas earned America a lot of respect as the champions of freedom everywhere it even earned them the nick name of global police. But the same Americans that enabled a world order that unbundled colonialsm, ended the nazis and defeated communism are the same ones that are destabilising international justice and peace on the plater of national interest. Hence, fast becoming what they used to fight against. Let's see where this next chapter leads us... |

The only way to play geo politics and live to tell the story is through patience. |
Appleyard:I might not agree with you but I like people with independent assertion and analogical deduction. |
olugabbie:Trust me this conflict is not about the Ukraine joining NATO. The Americans know it. The Russians know it. And if you know, you know. NATO is already at Russia's backyard, they don't need to be in Ukraine. Ukraine is just a smokescreen both US and Russia are using. In his speech Putin alluded to the Baltic states.- Trust me he wants them out of there too. |
Firstcitizen:My guy bone that thing, the Americans are also "shege" in this game. I think their mistake was to think Russia won't see through their "shege" or at least not this soon. To many the cold War ended in the 90's, but that is the ingenuity of the Americans- making you believe that. |
Hanibbal:That might not be his end game, he might still be interested in invasion but no one knows when or how, that is why Western intelligence has resorted to what I can only characterise as "confused medley" or guesswork |
I hope we can have intelligent contributions and not juvenile comments. Especially given that Africa is not known for strategic or long-term planning. So this may be as close as a think-tank we have |
I think Putin has outsmarted the West. Ask me how |
I know a Dr then, who published my article as his, (telling me my time will come) today he is a professor at a federal University. That's why I left academics, like every other sector in Nigeria - it is messed up. But I don't know which is worse ASUU's HYPOCRISY in Pantami's saga (as if many Profs in Nigeria are worth it) or FUTOs adamant insistence BTW, what's Farooq's obsession with pantami, I noticed he usually goes overdrive on pantami's issues (meanwhile in one of his past articles he claims pantami is his friend! There must be something) |
The arrogance of men to "fashion God in their own image" Who be you to think he does not love all? |
