Politics / Re: Who Will The North Vote For If The Election Is Repeated by Saifullah01: 9:52am On Mar 03, 2023
What I can read from the facts is that the North demonstrated political maturity in this election. They showed they are in the game for the long haul. Even though they could have massively voted their own and win- they voted across parties, which means no region can say the north voted on sectional basis. That's also a political credit or I owe you which they can leverage on in future.

The south west is next in political maturity because even though their own was also in the race, the LP and the PDP also got significant votes from them.

The south south maintained what I will like to assume is "strategic ambiguity"

The south east naturally tended towards their own, though admirable, it is not a wise move politically.
Politics / Who Will The North Vote For If The Election Is Repeated by Saifullah01: 8:39am On Mar 03, 2023
The North is quietly watching all the candidates claiming victory (which I find spurious).

But who will the North vote for if there is a repeat of the elections?
Politics / Re: Nigerians, Let Give Tinubu The Benefit Of The Doubt by Saifullah01: 6:44pm On Mar 01, 2023
One thing I can say is there was voter's apathy in the North especially among female voters.

The south has successfully made this election about religion. Tinubu was never my candidate, but he has won let's move on and pray he succeeds - except you don't want Nigeria to succeed.

But be rest assured if this election is done again and the North also go religious mode, the margin of victory for tinubu will be wider.
Politics / Re: How Obidients Set 6 Million Crucial Ballots On Fire by Saifullah01: 9:27am On Mar 01, 2023
This religious politics is so myopic and self serving. The earlier you realise that the better.

Your other points are solid and valid

Politics / Re: But If We Are Being Honest With Ourselves, There Is No Way Muslims Will by Saifullah01: 6:08am On Mar 01, 2023
stonemasonn:
It wasn't supposed to be so. The emergence of Peter Obi and Tinubu's muslim muslim caused it. Look at it objectively, don't blame the Christians. Muslims will do same if it were to be a Christian-Christian ticket.
I understand your point but I disagree with it. Look at the results from Kano in particular, then look at that of Kaduna and Katsina (the so called KKK). You have do look beyond blanket generalisation to understand Northern voting patterns, it is more complicated than that. Read about Aminu Kano in the past.

I still insist what cost the opposition this election was their reliance on religious sentiments and their failure to unite and kick the ruling party out.

Imagine if LP, NNPP and PDP had united before elections, APC would have faced a certain defeat.

The Christians have done an immeasurable damage to the Nigerian political psyche. They made this election about religion. Note these facts:

There was voters apathy in the north especially among the females.

A sizeable amount of northern votes chose BAT not because they supported him but because they saw how the Christians turned this election about religion.

Mark my words should this election be conducted again the margins of defeat the APC will give the runners up will be wider because the skeptics in the north have seen that this was a calculated assault on them by the Christians and secondly the reserve voter (female who were reluctant to come out) will b activated.

The truth is bitter, but it is what it is

Will "global renaissance" be synonymous with jihad?

Far from it (I.e your understanding of Jihad or the propaganda the media loves to amplify) these are false ideologies on the fringes of Islam which islamophobes love to paint Islam with. Even though these extremists have nothing on Islam apart from thier verbal profession of islam for the cameras.

I think it's about "sticking to basics" and avoiding innovation in religion. Overtime that's how previous religions from God were lost to cultural practices and idiosyncrasies of the dominant civilization of the time.

That is one unique feature of Islam, The Quran an sunna are sacrosanct, and no matter how over time teachings of Islam are mixed with culture, there always come a generational renaissance that can tap into the most earliest sources of Islam (Quran and SunnaH) and return to the basics.

If you look carefully we are in the middle of a global renaissance.

Islam for Muslims / Re: Cure For Depression: Islamic View Point by Saifullah01: 6:41am On Nov 18, 2022
Continued...

The prophet (PBUH) said:

"Wondrous is the affair of the believer for there is good for him in every matter and this is not the case with anyone except the believer. If he is happy, then he thanks Allah and thus there is good for him, and if he is harmed, then he shows patience and thus there is good for him"

It is important to understand that as long as we are alive our situations will keep changing just like the seasons or time (we were young once, but now older. We can be in good health today and sick tomorrow, rich today and poor tomorrow).

Everything is a test and like all tests what matters is the result or how you react -know this and now peace. The rich man's test is his wealth, the poor man's test is his poverty. Like Allah said this world and all that is in it are test to show who is deserving of a station in the after life.

Once this concept of trials is understood (both good and bad from our view point) you wouldn't be depressed or happy with what you were tried with but rather how you fared in the trial.

I end with this prayer O Allah, let the best of our lifetime be its ending, and our best deed be that which we seal [our life with], and the best of our days the day we meet You.
Islam for Muslims / Cure For Depression: Islamic View Point by Saifullah01: 2:26pm On Nov 12, 2022
Depression is real! These days it is a fatal emotion. But as Muslims do you have any business being depressed? The answer is NO!

Here are 2 Verses (Qur'an) and 2 Hadith (sayings of the prophet PBUH) that calibrates Muslims' mind away from Depression

Allah says:

"No misfortune can happen on earth or in your souls but is recorded in a decree before We bring it into existence: That is truly easy for Allah:

In order that you not despair over what has eluded you and not exult [in pride] over what He has given you. And Allah does not like everyone self-deluded and boastful ..."

These 2 beautiful Verses above calibrates your mind not to grieve excessively over what you don't have (which is one of the main causes of depression) but also admonishes you not to be arrogant over what you have (because either you or what was given to you can be taken at any time by Allah).
The knowledge that things happen the way they are meant to happen is the ultimate truth and a source of peace to all believers.

Sincerely speaking, that analogy showed the depth of BAT's grasp of the political economy of the world. Little wonder he has achieved what he has achieved and built those he has built.

Unfortunately I still feel old age is taking a toll on him. But one thing is certain, neither the PDP candidate nor the LP candidate can come close to Tinubu when it comes to intellect

Good job Lagos.
FMOH should be the one leading, but it seems they don't even know their duty.

Many (if not most) have died due to lackadaisical attitudes of our health workers. This need to stop.

For starters, there should be CCTV in all emergency section of all hospitals to aid investigations that might arise from complaints from families of "murdered" patients. And any hospital without a functioning CCTV should be sanctioned

If true, good for them. But knowing how these things go, the government can:
1. Rearest him in front of kuje or the court and slam new charges on him
2. Appeal the judgment
3. Just set him free
Politics / Consumer Protection Vs Subsidy (Europe V Developing Countries) by Saifullah01: 8:36pm On Oct 12, 2022
If you have been following the global energy crisis you would here governments especially in the west announcing price caps, consumer protections and government interventions and bail outs to corporations.

But when governments in developing countries subsidise energy, education, or food you would see those slithering smurfs who disguise as foreign emissaries, or country representatives advising the governments on why they need to free up funds from removing subsidies.

Seriously God needs to reed us from these purveyors of poverty and their agents

Politics / Re: Christian - Christian Presidential Ticket : Say What Could Have Happened Now ? by Saifullah01: 7:28pm On Aug 19, 2022
Nothing would have happened. We are in a multi party democracy. And if you are speaking about the North, at best the north will vote a candidate it feel comfortable with or at worst not vote at all.

Those screaming now are mischievous lots, they are the same people that screamed blue murder when Kaduna went Muslim-Muslim but are quiet now that Osun has gone Christian-Christian The North even with its current internal troubles is more "politically matured" and cultured than a particular section in the south could ever be.
